SSL with Network Solutions @ POP Setting

Hi,
Having a difficulty setting up my mail where the instructions by Network Solutions is to use Password as authentication and NOT to check the SSL setting in the outgoing mail. The system automatically checks the SSL no amtter how many times i uncheck it.
The only solution is to set the authientication to MD5 Challenge-responce in order for the SSL not to be auto checked by the computer it self.
I have mails going OUT, but some mails do not arrive as they are bounced back to the sender.
Does anyone else have a similar problem or solution for this?
Much apreciate the help,
Richard

  • Can't get Email client to work with Network Solutions Email server

This is a new Email account started after I installed Snow Leopard. The Email server is Network Solutions. I have tried all afternoon and evening trying to set up just one account / mailbox on the Mac and I still haven't gotten it to work. I have been over the settings multiple times with Network Solutions and they tell me all the settings are correct, but still no joy. When I try to 'Get Mail' it simply spins its wheels for a minute or so then displays a (!); i.e. it times out and stops trying. I don't know if it is something about Network Solution's servers that is causing the problem or if it something wrong on my end (most likely). Any idea what I can try? Is there a log someplace that will tell me exactly what part of the process is failing?

Problem solved. For some reason the POP client had 'SSL' turned on. Guess I set it by accident during one of my many tries. All is well now.

  • Need to keep relaunching Mail to work with Network Solutions IMAP

The problem: Mail on my MacBook Pro will successfully download e-mail from my Network Solutions IMAP account once, but then if I want to check for mail in that account again, I have to quit Mail and relaunch it. The problem is only with the Network Solutions account. I have three other e-mail accounts, and Mail has no problem getting messages from those other accounts, even while it's failing to get the Network Solutions messages.
Background: I recently upgraded my Network Solutions account from POP to IMAP. That's when this problem started. I don't think I can blame it on Network Solutions, though, because the account works fine on my Mac mini, my iPhone, and my iPad.
The MacBook Pro and the Mac mini are running the same OS (10.8.2) and the same version of Mail (6.2). The settings for the Network Solutions account are, as best as I can tell, exactly the same on both computers.
Here's an example of what happens: I'll have Mail open on my MacBook Pro, and it will receive a new message. Then, I'll go to the Mac mini and open, read, and delete that new message. When I return to the MacBook Pro, that message is still in the in box and still marked as unread. I can leave it like that all day and that message will stay in the in box, unread, and Mail will not receive any more new messages from that Network Solutions account. Meanwhile, all of my other accounts work fine. (I can also open and read that message if I want. But it remains undeleted, even though I deleted it on the Mac mini.) If I quit Mail and relaunch it, that message will disappear, and Mail is again able to receive new messages from the Network Solutions account.
Any ideas about what might be causing this? Thanks.

  • Trouble with Network Solutions mail...

A friend needs to use the Network Solutions (NS) email product for a domain that she is working with.  Unfortunately, we are having a problem with the mail account and Apple Mail.
We are able to set the account up and it seems to be working (no error messages), and we are able to send messages (they send and arrive at other email addresses).
Email messages sent to the account, however, do not appear in Apple Mail -- the inbox is just empty.
They DO appear when we look in NS webmail, so they ARE in the account -- they just don't seem to appear in Mail.
We've tried this on two different Macs and have exactly the same result.  Seems like there is some sort of configuration issue.
    Suggestions?

Has anybody seen this sort of behavior – email simply does no appear in the inbox, no error messages, but mail is visible through webmail interface – with any other service provider?
I haven't tried using the account with POP yet, as a) they claim it works with IMAP and b) I would rather use it that way.  I'm not sure what getting it to work with POP would prove, either, but it might be worth a try, just to see.
    Any thoughts?

  • Can't make a connection with Network Solutions

I successfully published my site today to the GoDaddy server - no problems, the iWeb Site Publishing Settings Page worked great.
I have another site on Network solutions. I put in all the correct information in iWeb's FTP Server Settings block on the Site Publishing page. Hit "Test Connection" and it failed. Over and over and over. So get this - I call Tech Support at NetSol. They are on the line with me for half an hour and we tried everything and could not make a connection. We both gave up.
Is anyone having problems getting a connection with NetSol?
I just tested the Apple Publishing page with GoDaddy again and it still works just fine there.

  • DNS locally or define things in DNS settings with Network Solutions or Godaddy?

I'm thinking about making a DNS server here onsite so that the only
thing on godaddy for DNS is our domain pointing to our DNS server such
as DNS1.company.com would that be better than having
mail.company.com ftp.company.com defined on DNS at goaddy? Or
would that just generate way too much traffic on my network connection?

  • I can send email but not receive on my iphone 3GS. Emails to my .me address are OK but not emails to the address hosted by Network Solutions. NS have checked my settings twice. I am using IMAP. Is this a problem with iCloud?

I use IMAP email hosted by Network Solutions for my main email address. I can send and receive this OK in my Mac Mail on my MAC book and also on webmail. However my iphone doesn't receive these emails but it can send. I have checked settings on my iphone twice with Network Solutions but no luck. Emails addressed to my .me address are received OK. I have a suspicion this problem started when I signed up to icloud.
    my ISP is BTconnect
    Any ideas?

Useful suggestions. In fact I had already deleted and re-entered the account details a few days ago without apparent success. The error message was along the lines of "cannot access the server".
Anyway about an hour after your message, my emails started coming through after a 6 month gap!  - makes me think someone at Network Solutions monitors these discussions.
    Many thanks

  • Apple Mail send and receive problems, Network Solutions

    Hello Everyone,
I'm currently facing a problem with a company email account that we have with network solutions.
NSmail Pro (IMAP) that is configured with apple mail. Here are the settings that i have:
    Incoming mail: mail.(company.domain).com
    Port: 110
    SSL: No
    Outgoing mail: smtp.(company.domain).com
    Port: 2525
    SSL: No
    Auth: Password
Whenever i'm at the office, I can send and receive emails without any problems (Using mail app), but when i'm at home i can't receive emails nor send one.
I'm wondering if this has something to do with the Mail application, cause i can access the email using the webmail on a browser without any problems (either at home or at the Office).
    Any thoughts from our experts?

I'm guessing that when you are at the office, you are probably accessing a company network and the company mail will only work with those settings on the company network. You may need to discuss this with your IT department at work to see if it need a different configuration for outside access.
The fact that it works at work and not at home indicates a that it surely an issue with the connection setup.
Assuming that you are accessing it through wi-Fi at both locations, do you have different wi-Fi connections set up on you Mac in Network Preferences, or is it the same wi-Fi connection used for both? In other words, do you have a specific wifi setup on your computer for connecting at the office?

  • Apple Mail IMAP & Network Solutions/ NS mail

I have followed every step on the network solutions website and from their support desk to set up imap on my MacBook Pro running OSX10.6.8.  It still cannot receive or send mail. I have changed ports, deleted and recreated accounts and spent hours on the phone with IT.
Is there a general problem with network solutions IMAP and Mail? If so, anyone know of any solutions?
If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them!

I agree that this problem needs to be fixed.  Apple -- please pay attention to this one!  We need a setting to limit the # of connections in IMAP, like other mail programs have.
I collected about half a dozen past threads in this forum about this problem going back from 2013 to 2006 (!!) at the following thread, and that was just scratching the surface -- there are tons of past threads about this on this forum, not to mention on every other forum on the Internet that discusses Apple Mail:

  • Can't connect to my wesite host (Network Solutions) Server.

When trying to connect through the Expression Web application to my Website Host Server, I get an Server error: Error 2 opening registry key Software/microsoft/shared tools/web server extensions/ports/port 80. It has something to do with a Front Page Extension.
My website was hosted with Network Solutions for close to ten years, and I had a Front Page Extension issue in the past which was resolved at the host sever. Not anymore, tech personnel (farmed out to non English speaking entities) is not helpful at all.
Searching for answers, I got suggestions to do a registry modification (Registry Key Permissions), but I cannot find an entry "Web Server Extensions" in my registry. Is there any way to resolve my problem?

Thanks for the prompt response. I was afraid that I am screwed having build my website with Front Page and later migrated to Expression Web.
Network Solutions is in the process of updating to Windows Server 2012 R2.
Dear Hosting Customer, Tomorrow, your Network Solutions hosting package will be updated to Windows Server 2012 R2, resulting in a brief interruption of your hosting service.
This update is necessary to keep your server up to date, secure and running properly. The migration will take place tomorrow, and will last approximately 1 hour. NOTE: AWStats user credential has changed. Please use your default ftp credentials if you need
to access the awstats page directly. Next Steps: In
order for this migration to run smoothly, we need you to do a couple of things depending on your package set up.
FrontPage Extensions: FrontPage extensions will no longer be available.
As a result, customers with FrontPage Extensions will need to update their sites in order for them to continue to work.
.NET 1.1 or Earlier Platforms: .NET 1.1 will no longer be supported
after the Windows update. Customers with .NET need to update their site in order for them to continue to work.
External Domain Pointers: Customers with external domains. (Domain
names not registered with Network Solution or are not using Network Solution name servers) pointing to a Windows 2003 hosting package need to update their ADNS for the domain with a new IP address.
Your new IP address is 209.17.116.7
NetSol Domains: Customers with a NetSol domain and pointing to a
Windows 2003 hosting package will have their A record changed automatically. No intervention on their part is needed
In addition to many Network Solutions features that continue to be supported, there are new features you will get with this upgrade.
Now I have to find a way to update my site, and any suggestion on how to go about it would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Oskar F. Neuhold

  • I can use cut and paste in Rich Text Editors for all web site hosts but one. I have tried the solution you provided, but it doesn't work. Any ideas? the website that rejects cut and paste is Network Solutions

I really hoped you would fix the security policy issue in release 4. I have to close Firefox and use IE9 to maintain a website I built with Network Solutions and I'd much rather not have to endure the slowness of IE. I also have websites with Wix and WEBS and have no problems at all using cut and paste with them.

Did you have it connected to the library mac when it froze? If so, why? I would be hesitant to hook my ipod to a unprotected public computer since it may be infested with viruses or have unknown hardware problems.
In any case, if you can get it to an Apple store they can probably help you with it, it sounds like it needs replacing.
A certain percentage of any complex product will turn out to be defective and will have to be returned, it sounds like you were unlucky enough to get one. Looking over the forums here it may seem like the ipod is plagued with bugs, but don't forget that there are millions who never have a problem and so have no reason to pipe up here. Personally I think Apple deserves a thumbs up for continuing to host these forums in spite of how they may cast a negative light on thier products to the casual observer.

  • IWeb '08 Personal Domain Name Network Solutions

This is maddening and Network Solutions is no help. I have a domain name, say <wxyz.com>, registered with Network Solutions. The CNAME page has 3 columns of fields: "Alias" field; "Refers to Host Name" with Radio Button w/popup menu including "www"; radio button w/Other Host field.
    I have tried
    1. web.mac.com; www; blank
2 web; blank; mac.com (recommended by network solutions staff)
    and neither work.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry to answer my own question but I called Network Solutions again and got a great tech who knew what she was doing and solved my problem. She said they are now familiar with pointing a registered domain name to web.mac.com so the best is to call and ask them to do it--1-866-908-1240.
For the curious, here's what she did:
    1. Deleted all "A" records, essentially the IP addresses that point to Network Solutions "Under Construction" web page, some with ads.
    2. She added 2 aliases (CNAME Records) for the three fields as:
    a. *; blank; web.mac.com
    b. www; blank; web.mac.com
Step 1. allowed entering www in the Alias field which I couldn't before and became totally confused.

  • Network Solutions

    I built a site in iWeb (08)
I have a domain name with Network Solutions.
How do I post my iWeb site using my domain name as opposed to web.mac.com(etc)?
    Many thanks in advance.

Using a domain name and .Mac are not mutually exclusive.
You can point your domain name to .Mac using either CNAME or web forwarding. However, if you don't wish to use .Mac at all, then you need to take out a domain hosting package that will provide you with your own web space and e-mail facilities. In iWeb, you then publish to a folder and upload using an ftp program of your choice such as Transmit or Cyberduck.
