SSMA "Loading to database new table File Name.dbo[Table] ...sql execution failed

In this case I had already processed this table once before 'no changes' and processed the second time I received this error ...sql execution Failed. It's like the sql server 2008 R2 doesn't see or detect the process. Starting Phase #0 Synchronizing Database:
then it shows 'Loading to database new table file name.dbo[table] ... sql execution failed (this is my issue)

Hi TheJudge2,
Based on my understanding, you have installed SQL Server Migration Assistant successfully then you perform migration. After migration, you can’t find the table which you want to migrate to SQL Server 2008 R2 under the database in your SQL Server Management
Studio, then you perform migration again. Then error message “Loading to database new table file name.dbo[table] ... sql execution failed” is thrown out. Please correct me if I misunderstand your meaning.
Firstly, I would like to know whether you perform migration from Access database to SQL Server. I have performed migration from Access database to SQL Server in my lab environment. Based on my test, I could migrate Access database to SQL Server successfully
and table existed under the database in SQL Server Management Studio after migration.
Besides, “sql execution failed” is a general error message. It is hard to find out the cause from this error message. Please check the information under the Output in SQL Server Migration Assistant again. It would be better if you can provide the complete
output information for our deep analysis.

the command is
sqlldrType it and see if you have it installed.

There are plenty of examples also on the web.

• The table with Name of 'Table Name' does not exist.An error occurred when loading the Model.

The table with Name of 'Table Name' does not exist.An error occurred when loading the Model.
We get this error when we try to check the properties of an analysis server using SQL Server Management studio(right click the instance name
and check properties). We have resolved this issue twice by Stopping the SQL Server analysis service,removing db folders from Analysis Server Data folder and starting the services back on. The db folder that we removed was advised by the BI team.
The SQL Server Analysis Server is 2012 SP1

Hi RB_ORIPW,
The table with name of 'XXX' doesn't exist.
An error occurred when loading the model(Micorsoft.AnalysisServices)
If I understanding correctly, you encounter the error randomly, now what you want it that avoid this issue completely, other than stop the services, detele the db filder and restart the services, right?
The error might be caused by that the data file is corrupted. However, we cannot give you the exact reason that cause this issue. You can troubleshoot this issue by using the Windows Event logs and msmdsrv.log.
You can access Windows Event logs via "Administrative Tools" --> "Event Viewer". SSAS error messages will appear in the application log.
The msmdsrv.log file for the SSAS instance that can be found in \log folder of the instance. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Log)
Here is a blog about data collection for troubleshooting Analysis Services issues, please see:

Besides, here is fix that describe the similar issue, and it was fixed in Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP1, please refer to the link below to see the details.

Hi,

i tried using IKM file teradata and columns are getting displaced.
my requirement suppose i have 5 columns in file and i have to load only 3columns to table using IKM.
same thing can be achived using LKM file to teradata but i want use IKM.
please suggest me on this
Regards
Vinod

Hi,
I believe that the problem you are having is that you have a delimited file, of which you want to pick columns from position 2,3,5. In this case, ODI will pick the first 3 columns of a delimited file regardless of position.
For example, if you a tab delimited file with c1,c2,c3,c4,c5 columns, and you want only columns c2,c3,c5 - when mapping these in an ODI interface, and executing, you will actually pick up the data from c1,c2,c3 as these are the first three columns in the file (reading from left to right). You can ignore "columns" on the right hand side of a file, but not the left. E.g delimited file with c1,c2,c3,c4,c5. Only pick columns c1,c2 will give you data for the first 2 columns
Create a temporary table to load all the data from the file, and use you temp table to extract the data you require. Or you could get the file created with the first three columns as the columns you require.
Cheers

• Insert data file name into table from sql loader

Hi All,
I have a requirement to insert the data file name dynamically into table using sql loader.
Example:
sqlldr userid=username/passwword@host_string control=test_ctl.ctl data=test_data.dat
test_ctl.ctl
LOAD DATA
FILED TERMINATED BY ','
INTO TABLE test

file_name varchar2(20) ---------- This should be the data file name which can be dynamic (coming from parameter)
test_data.dat

2,hello
3,world
4,end
Please help..
Thanks in advance.

you'll probably have to write your control file on the fly, using a .bat or .sh file
rem ===== file : test.bat ========
rem
rem ============== in pseudo speak =============
rem
rem
echo LOAD DATA > test.ctl

echo ename varchar2(20), >> test.ctl
echo file_name constant %1% >> test.ctl
echo ) >> test.ctl

• Loading data from two flat files into one table

Hi All,
I want to load few fields from one file and few fields from another file and load the data into one table in the database.
For Ex: I have two flat files file1.csv and file2.csv and file1.csv containes 25 columns and file2.csv containes 12 columns, i want to load 20 columns from file1.csv and 7 columns from file2.csv into the table
how to combine the columns from both the files and load them into one table at a time?
Any help is appriciated
Thanks
R.G

Use external tables.
If using Oracle9 or higher connect both your csv with database as separate external tables and load the requited fields in new/requited table.

• Passing file name dynamically to sql loader ctl file

Hi,
I am new to scripting and I have a complex requirement involving writing a script.
Requierment:
I need to upload a CSV file from a FTP server into oracle table using SQL Loader. The file name resembles like APF0912312359.csv represents 31-DEC-2009 23:59 and there will be multiple files in same day indicated by differnt timestamp as its filename. Once I load a file using SQL loader, I need to move the file to another directory for archival.
Since the sql loader ctl file has a fixed file name, I would like to know how I can pass the file name dynamically to ctl file to load a new file every time it runs.
Any help is greatly appreciated..

I agree with Pradeep in regards to declaring the file names on the command line. However, I do have a concern regarding presenting the password on the command line as any user that can issue a ps (assuming Unix ~= Linux here) would be able to read it while the sqlldr command is running.
Unfortunately, you may not always have the option of declaring the files on the command line. I was recently challenged with this in a Windows 2003 Server environment running SQL*Loader: Release 10.2.0.1.0. In this environment I found that I am able to set a variable file name in a calling batch file and use that value in the control file successfully. Just to demonstrate the approach:
Batch file:
set IN_FILE=’c:\inbound\load_me.txt’
sqlldr user/pswd@db PARFILE=’c:\parameters.txt’
Parameter file:
errors=500000
rows=50000
control=%CTL_FILE%
bad=%BAD_FILE%
discard=%DSC_FILE%
log=%LOG_FILE%
Control file:
LOAD DATA
INFILE ‘%IN_FILE%’
INSERT
INTO TABLE table_to_be_loaded
I’m really interested to see if this would work on Unix.

• Set Attached File name to Table Cell

Hello All,
I have a scenario where:
1. I have a dynamic table.
2.Every Row has a Button for attaching the new File.
3. When we add new Row to the Table, I want to get the attached file name in the corresponding cell. i.e Cell2 in following example.
I have tried doing it this way
The script which I'm using on Add button is
app.execMenuItem("AddFileAttachment");
var o = event.target.dataObjects;
var n = "";
DataNode.Table1.Row1.Cell2.rawValue = "";
if (o !== null) {
for (var i = 0; i < o.length; i += 1) {
n = o[this.parent.index].name;
var countVal = (DataNode.Table1.Row1.instanceManager.count-1);
xfa.resolveNode("DataNode.Table1.Row1["+countVal+"].Cell2").rawValue = n;
But I'm not able to display the attached file name in Cell2 of the Table.
How can we do it?
Thanks and Regards,
Nikhil

Hello All,
I even tried doing the same using http://eslifeline.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/adding-attachments-to-pdf-form/
But I'm not able to add the file name to the table cell.
Can anyone please guide me through this?

• Need help loading data from Excel data file to oracle tables

i need to load an Excel spreadsheet to Oracle table.
The spreadsheet contains 20 columns, the first 8 columns contains basic info, but the rest 12 columns contains info like
1stQtr_08, 2ndQtr_08, 3rdQtr_08, 4thQtr_08
1stQtr_09, 2ndQtr_09, 3rdQtr_09, 4thQtr_09
1stQtr_10, 2ndQtr_10, 3rdQtr_10, 4thQtr_10
So what i need to accomplish is:
break that one record(with 20 fields) in Excel to 3 records for each fiscal year in the Oracle table, so each record in the database table will look like
8 basic field + fiscal_year + 1stQtr_08, 2ndQtr_08, 3rdQtr_08, 4thQtr_08
8 basic field + fiscal_year + 1stQtr_09, 2ndQtr_09, 3rdQtr_09, 4thQtr_09
8 basic field + fiscal_year + 1stQtr_10, 2ndQtr_10, 3rdQtr_10, 4thQtr_10
There are about 10000 rows in the data file, so how can i use sqlldr to perform such task? beside sqlldr, any other good suggestions?
thx

External Tables is just an Oracle API for sqlloader. If you going to load this data over and over again, External tables would be a good idea, but if it's a one time thing, sqlldir is simpler, unless you just want to learn how to use External Tables.
I used to run a data warehouse, so I have done, at least similar, to what you are doing in the past.

• Want To Capture The File name Using the SQL Loader

Hi,
I Am loading The Data To Staging Table Using The SQL*developer, The File That need to be Loaded Will be One Of The Input To the SQL*Loader Concurrent Program.
In One Of The Column Of My staging Table I want To Put The File name.
Can We do the Same.
thanks,
Ankit

Not unless you generate the loader controlfile dynamically.. try this.. pass file name as $1 first parameter. Use the below example and modify as per your requirement
1) create table with following table structure
create table temp_table (x varchar2(20),file_name varchar2(30));
2) create data file - test.dat (contains only values for x)
abc
def
geh
ggg
fff
3) create a host file host file - test.sh with following content:
echo "load data
infile $1
append
into table temp_table
fields terminated by ','
(x,
file_name constant "$1")" > test.ctl
sqlldr <usr>/<pwd>control=test.ctl
4) run the host file from unix prompt with data file name as parameter (ensure test.sh has execute permissions)
test.sh test.dat
Hope this helps

• Add date to new text file name and generic text in body

Okay, I hope this is the right forum. To help manage and keep track of incoming assets/files and I created an Automator workflow with the following: "Get Selected Finder Items → Get Folder Contents → New Text File (w/Show this action when the workflow runs so I can give a unique name).
This creates a text file with the folder contents listed in the body.
I would like to know if I can do two things:
1. Automatically add a date/time stamp to the Save as field so it will automatically have a unique file name?
2. I also want to add text before the listed contents within the text file. (e.g.: Let's say the folder contents are Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov. I want the final text to read:
"The following file has been moved to the local volume at: Volumes/Mac HD/Generic_movie.mov"
Is there a way to accomplish either one or both of these with Automator or AppleScripts?
Thanks.

I would like to know if I can do two things...
This might address your first concern:
*1) Get Selected Finder Items*
*2) Get Folder Contents*
*3) New Text File* -- select a destination folder and check *Show Action When Run*
*4) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time* from the popup
Date/Time: select Created, Modified, or Current - Format: *Month Day Year*
Where: *After name* - Separator: *Forward Slash*
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (optional)
*5) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Text* from the popup
Add: *" at"* -- put a leading space before "at" (without the quotes), and select *after name*.
*6) Rename Finder Items:*
Choose *Add Date or Time*
Date/Time: Current - Format: *Hour Minute Second*
Where: *After name* - Separator: Dash
Separator: Space - check *Use Leading Zeros* (strongly recommended)
+--- End of Workflow ---+
Save the workflow as an application and use it as a droplet. Drop a desired folder onto the saved applet and enter a name when the dialog appears. The new text file, which will be found in the destination folder, should be appended with a date and time stamp, e.g., *"My Folder List 7/8/2010 at 23-54-09"*
Tested using Mac OS 10.4.11 and Automator v. 1.0.5
Good luck; hope this helps.

This is new in Leopard and it is beginning to annoy me very much. It happens when editing file names in a sub-folder view – the one where the expand arrow is expanded.
When editing a long file name I am used to using the arrow keys (up places the insertion point at the beginning; down places it at the end; left and right move it left and right). Hold down the left arrow key to get to the middle of the text quickly and the sub-folder closes. Previous to Leopard the command key+left arrow did this, not just the arrow on it's own. This means that you either have to use to mouse to click where you want to edit, or press the left arrow key multiple.
I have the key repeat rate set to high so the insertion point moves quickly.
Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, it's a bug. Please report it to the link below - the more the merrier:

On the bright side, at least they finally fixed Option-Right Arrow for disclosure triangles.

• Need help in loading data from a csv file to a table in Oracle DB

Hi,
I am using sqlplus as a client to connect to the server.
I am trying to load data from a csv file from a client to a table in Oracle DB server.
I am trying to use the below command
" LOAD DATA INFILE 'test.csv' INTO TABLE testTable FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' (test1,test2,testc3,testc4); "
But, I am encountered with the following error
"SP2-0042: unknown command "load data" - rest of line ignored."
Thanks in advance.

Hey Frostmann,
That was a nice post....
I changed my mind to use an 'Insert into' statement from a shell script.
I created a DB table named test and I tried using the below shell script to insert a row in the table.
sqlplus test/test@test <<ENDOFSQL
INSERT INTO test VALUES('test1',123,'test2','test3');
exit
ENDOFSQL
A row is succesfully inserted into the table when I run the script manually, but it does not insert rows when a cron job is scheduled.
Could you please help me with this?
Thanks in advance.
