StackOverflowError on bean deployment

I have an ear file containing two jars which in turn contain a number of bean and support classes. There is also a third party jar included in the ear and referenced by the jar manifests. When i go to deploy on 8.1, I get a StackOverflowError with no obvious explanation. Can someone please help?

FYI, more info. My ear file consists of 2 jar files containing beans and support classes. There are two third party libs in the root of the ear, which the jar file manifests reference in the Class-Path entry. I think this is correct based upon what i've read and the fact that i don't get classnotfound. Is this structure contributing to the stackoverflow somehow?

    I had tried using -Xms / -Xmx options (upto 1 GB).
    The trace of exception gets delayed (from being displayed on the console) as the memory size is increased; but after sometime it starts getting displayed on the console.
    Even though this exception is displayed on the console, the Timer Bean continues to execute upto sometime before it finally crashes!
    If anyone has encountered such problem; would appreciate if you could share the solution.
    Regards, Vidyadhar

    Hi guys, I have the same problem. I have an application EAR file with two modules (EJB and WAR starting in this order). The application can schedule a process via EJB timer. In this case restarting the server I receive the error above. If I change the modules start order --> WAR - EJB the server start correctly, but the application scheduler fails (the persistency is not working) with this error:

  • Message Driven Bean Deployment for a JCA based inbound Connector in SAILFIN

    This post is partly related to my previous post regarding message driven bean deployment issue in SAILFIN b12 application server. I have made another post to put my question to a more specific title with some additions. I am developing a JCA based resource adapter (i.e. connector). The inbound module of the connector listens on a specific port for incoming messages from a server (EIS). The port property and the endpoint interface (custom made message driven bean interface, that is InboundListener) has been specified in the connector's deployment descriptor. When a message reaches, the connector delivers it to the a message driven bean whose code is indicated in the following:
    package com....;
    import com....ra.facade.InboundListener;
    import javax.ejb.ActivationConfigProperty;
    import javax.ejb.MessageDriven;
    import javax.jms.Message;
    import javax.jms.MessageListener;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    * Entity class InboundMessageReceiverMDB
    * @author efikayd
    @MessageDriven(
    mappedName = "InboundMessageReceiverMDB",
    messageListenerInterface = com......ra.facade.InboundListener.class,
    activationConfig = {
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName = "listenerPort", propertyValue = "12345"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="ConnectionFactoryJndiName", propertyValue="RAjms/MyQCF"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationName", propertyValue="MyQueue"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationType", propertyValue="javax.jms.Queue")
    public class InboundMessageReceiverMDB implements InboundListener, MessageListener {
    private static final Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.xyz.inbound.InboundMessageReceiverMDB");
    /** Creates a new instance of InboundMessageReceiverMDB */
    public InboundMessageReceiverMDB() {
    public void onMessage(Message message) {
    public void receiveMessage(String message) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, "CLASS: " + getClass().getName() + "METHOD: receiveMessage() ==> Message received...: " + message);
    The listener interface is the following:
    package com...ra.facade;
    public interface InboundListener{
    public void receiveMessage(String message);
    I have set the JMS resource and the queue properties on the admin console of the SAILFIN instance that is locally installed on my Linux machine (Suse 9 - kernel number: 2.6.5-7.244) in the following manner:
    ConnectionFactory:
    JNDI Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Pool Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Type: javax.jms.ConnectionFactory
    Status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value: javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value: MyQueue
    Destination (i.e. queue):
    JNDIName: MyQueue
    Physical Destination Name: MyQueue
    status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value:javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value:MyQueue
    When I first written this message driven bean, it was not implementing the MessageListener interface. It was only implementing my own InboundListener interface. I did this because JCA specification says that the endpoint (i.e. message driven bean ) is not supposed to make use of JMS and its MessageListener interface. It says it can support custom message listener interface so to say. Then I got the exceptions that are same as the exceptions stated below. So, I made the bean implement the JMS MessageListener interface in addtion to my InboundListener interface assuming that exceptions result from not including the JMS MessageListener interface. Then I generated the necessary JMS resources with configuration settings stated above in the application server. However, I am still getting the same exceptions (see below) and nothing has changed. Do you think the above configuration for the JMS resource is fine and appropriate to the activation configuration specifications in my message driven bean code? Am I missing something on this configuration? Below, I have indicated the message that I got on the linux terminal when I attempt to deploy the message driven bean and the related server log. Thank you very much in advance for your help.
    Kind regards,
    faydemir
    PS: The 'restart' command in the following linux terminal outcome basically makes a call to a bash script which deploys the message driven bean to the SAILFIN application server. The resource adapter instance is already deployed on the application server before attempting to deploy the message driven bean. I am sure that the resource adapter successfully receives the messages from the EIS but it cannot deliver them to the endpoint (i.e.the message driven bean) since the bean is unable to be deployed correctly. I am using Netbeans IDE 5.5.1
    WHILE DEPLOYING:

    Command deploy executed successfully with following warning messages: Error occurred during application loading phase. The application will not run properly. Please fix your application and redeploy.

When a message reaches, the connector delivers it to the a message driven bean whose code is indicated in the following:
    package com....;
    import com....ra.facade.InboundListener;
    import javax.ejb.ActivationConfigProperty;
    import javax.ejb.MessageDriven;
    import javax.jms.Message;
    import javax.jms.MessageListener;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    * Entity class InboundMessageReceiverMDB
    * @author efikayd
    @MessageDriven(
    mappedName = "InboundMessageReceiverMDB",
    messageListenerInterface = com......ra.facade.InboundListener.class,
    activationConfig = {
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName = "listenerPort", propertyValue = "12345"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="ConnectionFactoryJndiName", propertyValue="RAjms/MyQCF"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationName", propertyValue="MyQueue"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationType", propertyValue="javax.jms.Queue")
    public class InboundMessageReceiverMDB implements InboundListener, MessageListener {
    private static final Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.xyz.inbound.InboundMessageReceiverMDB");
    /** Creates a new instance of InboundMessageReceiverMDB */
    public InboundMessageReceiverMDB() {
    public void onMessage(Message message) {
    public void receiveMessage(String message) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, "CLASS: " + getClass().getName() + "METHOD: receiveMessage() ==> Message received...: " + message);
    The listener interface is the following:
    package com...ra.facade;
    public interface InboundListener{
    public void receiveMessage(String message);
    I have set the JMS resource and the queue properties on the admin console of the SAILFIN instance that is locally installed on my Linux machine (Suse 9 - kernel number: 2.6.5-7.244) in the following manner:
    ConnectionFactory:
    JNDI Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Pool Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Type: javax.jms.ConnectionFactory
    Status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value: javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value: MyQueue
    Destination (i.e. queue):
    JNDIName: MyQueue
    Physical Destination Name: MyQueue
    status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value:javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value:MyQueue
    WHILE DEPLOYING:
    ws2089 [11:29am] [home/efikayd/bin] -> ./restart
    Command deploy executed successfully with following warning messages: Error occurred during application loading phase. The application will not run properly. Please fix your application and redeploy.
    WARNING: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.backend.IASDeploymentException: Error while loading EJB module [InboundReceiverMDBModule]. Please refer to the server log for more details.

  • To Create a EJB Client program to access the Bean deployed in the Sun app

    Hi
    I am new to the EJB.I need to write a Client ,to access the bean deployed in the Sun application Server 9.0. The Client Program will be running in a Different machine on the Network.
    1)What all things i need to consider along with writing the client program?
    2)Is there any link which provides the Sample client programs/Documents for the Sun Application Server.
    Please help me
    Regards
    Raju

    Probably the simplest way is to replace the MessageServerThread with a synchronized method. The method should be in the MessageServer class.

  • Ejb 3.0 Entity Bean Deployment

    I am using Jboss4.0.4 Application Server and i have deployed the Entity bean.
    In this for every request with same primary key, it is getting the values from the data base every time. I am not able to figure out why it's behaving like this.. Is there is any thing through code we can instruct the container to do it.

    Hi Isaac
    The JMS destination jmsqueues/default/sapDemoQueue cannot be found. You have to configure the destination on the server before the deployment or you have to put the destination's declaration in file jms-resources.xml.

  • Message Driven Bean deployment problem in SAILFIN b12

    Hi,
    I am a fresh learner in EJB technology and have been experiencing a deployment problem while attempting to deploy a very simple message driven bean, that does nothing basically, to a SAILFIN (b12) application server instance. I am using NetBeans 5.5.1 to form the message driven bean but I deploy the bean manually on a Linux terminal. The following is the code of the bean:
    package trial.mdb;
    import javax.annotation.Resource;
    import javax.ejb.ActivationConfigProperty;
    import javax.ejb.MessageDriven;
    import javax.jms.Message;
    import javax.jms.MessageListener;
    @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jms/MDB1", activationConfig = {
    @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-acknowledge"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue")
    public class MDB1 implements MessageListener {
    /** Creates a new instance of MDB1 */
    public MDB1() {
    public void onMessage(Message message) {
    I got the following message after deployment attempt:
    "Command deploy executed successfully with following warning messages: Error occurred during application loading phase. The application will not run properly. Please fix your application and redeploy.
    WARNING: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.backend.IASDeploymentException: Error while loading EJB module [TrialMDB]. Please refer to the server log for more details."
    The verifier does not give any error, warning or failure message and it states "com.sun.enterprise.connectors.ConnectorRuntimeException: JMS resource not created : jms/MDB1;" in the server log. Below, I have stated the content of the server log. I am novice in EJB technology particularly in message driven beans so any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi thank you for your answer. I did not create any jms resource in the application server because my message driven bean was not implementing the MessageListener interface. Since it did not work in that way, I added the MessageListenerInterface to the bean and formed the necessary jms resources usuing the admin console of the SAILFIN but it keeps giving the same message both on the linux terminal and the server log.
    Let me explain my situation in a more detailed way. I am developing a JCA based resource adapter (i.e.) connector. The inbound module of the connector listens on a specific port for incoming messages from a server (EIS). The port property is defined in the connector's deployment descriptor. When a message reaches, the connector delivers it to the a message driven bean whose code is indicated in the following:
    package com....;
    import com....ra.facade.InboundListener;
    import javax.ejb.ActivationConfigProperty;
    import javax.ejb.MessageDriven;
    import javax.jms.Message;
    import javax.jms.MessageListener;
    import java.util.logging.*;
    * Entity class InboundMessageReceiverMDB
    * @author efikayd
    @MessageDriven(
    mappedName = "InboundMessageReceiverMDB",
    messageListenerInterface = com......ra.facade.InboundListener.class,
    activationConfig = {
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName = "listenerPort", propertyValue = "12345"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="ConnectionFactoryJndiName", propertyValue="RAjms/MyQCF"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationName", propertyValue="MyQueue"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(
    propertyName="DestinationType", propertyValue="javax.jms.Queue")
    public class InboundMessageReceiverMDB implements InboundListener, MessageListener {
    private static final Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.xyz.inbound.InboundMessageReceiverMDB");
    /** Creates a new instance of InboundMessageReceiverMDB */
    public InboundMessageReceiverMDB() {
    public void onMessage(Message message) {
    public void receiveMessage(String message) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, "CLASS: " + getClass().getName() + "METHOD: receiveMessage() ==> Message received...: " + message);
    The listener interface is the following:
    package com...ra.facade;
    public interface InboundListener{
    public void receiveMessage(String message);
    I have set the JMS resource and the destination resource properties on the admin console in the following manner:
    ConnectionFactory:
    JNDI Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Pool Name: RAjms/MyQCF
    Type: javax.jms.ConnectionFactory
    Status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value: javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value: MyQueue
    Destination (i.e. queue):
    JNDIName: MyQueue
    Physical Destination Name: MyQueue
    status: enabled
    Property1 ==> Name: DestinationType Value:javax.jms.Queue
    Property2 ==> Name: DestinationName Value:MyQueue
    Although I created the JMS resources as above I am getting the same problems.Do you think the above configuration is fine and appropriate to the activation configuration definitions in my message driven bean code? Am I missing something on this configuration? Below, I have indicated the message that I got on the linux terminal when I attempt to deploy the message driven bean and the related server log. They are same as what I posted before (i.e. JMS resource cannot be created...).
    WHILE DEPLOYING:
    ws2089 [11:29am] [home/efikayd/bin] -> ./restart

  • Bean deployment

    Could any one help us regarding the connection pooling in jsp and also how to deploy a bean in jsp using javawebserver

    Hi,
    As regards to connection pooling in JSP, you would need to store the ConnectionPool object in the session implicit object.
    Use session.setAttibute("ConnectionPool", pool);
    The pool would be initialized in a JSP/Servlet, with the appropriate userID,password,driver, etc.Make sure you load this servlet first, so that it is available to all the servlets/jsp's in the Web Application.
    The other JSP/Servlets can get the Connection object from the connectionpool using
    try {
    ConnectionPool pool = (Connectionpool) session.getAttribute("ConnectionPool");
    Connection con = pool.getConnection();
    } catch(Exception e) {
    } finally {
    con.close() //this doesnot close the connection physically, put puts it back in the pool for reuse
    You would need to create 2 classes
    1. ConnectionPool class which encapsulates the Connection objects.
    2. ConnectionFactory, which instantiates the pools, and the number of connection it holds.
    Regarding deployment, I have deployed it in J2EE Reference Implementation as a WAR file.It works successfully.
    Hope this helps,

    Hello,
              <stateful-session-clustering>
              <replication-type>InMemory</replication-type>

              Statement above belongs to 'weblogic-ejb-jar.xml' and it is right in my
              opinion.
              I have another one statement describing SessionBean which deploy it as
              stateful bean (it is 'ejb-jar.xml' file):
              <?xml version="1.0"?>
              <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise

              I think that everything should go right, but SessionBean is not replicated.
              Where is the problem?

  • Message Bean deployment

    I also see some inconsistent behavior in the deployment process. BTW Cedric, I
    noticed that the readme.txt in the application's dir says:
    "If you shut down the server, the config info for any apps dynamically deployed
    is written to the config.xml file."
    In my case, I see my message bean in the list at the bottom of the "Install or
    Update an Application" page, the config file says "Deployed=true", and it still
    does not show up under the "EJB" limb.
    In addition, in order to get rid of an EJB, I had to click the trash can icon
    (Delete) and then go remove it from the applications directory.
    Even though I have very thoroughly checked my ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml
    file, I can't even deploy a simple message bean.
    I am totally stumped!

    change <jms-destination-type> to <destination-type>
    in ejb-jar.xml and redeploy the application
    Cheers

  • Multiple bean deployment

    I have a set of session beans and entity beans that I would like to redeploy to
    a different datasource. For example, Session Bean A uses Entity Beans B and C
    and they all go against the same datasource. I would like to deploy the same beans
    to go against a different datasosurce. So, if I look up session bean A' it will
    use B' and C' instead of B anc C. What I need is to use the same set of ejbs to
    go against different databases. What is the easiest way to do this.
    Thanks,
    Jamie

    The easiest way is to have one set of code/classes for A, B, and C. In
    the end, you'll deploy the beans twice. Once with datasource-1 and once
    referencing datasource-2. You can make the datasourchange in the
    descriptors. You should have to change any code.

  • SQL error during CMP bean deployment

    Hi,
    the following exception occures when I deploy a CMP bean to a remote OC4J server (it works fine when I use the internal OC4J process of JDeveloper using the same JDBC connection):
    Auto-unpacking E:\Apps\OC4J\j2ee\home\applications\statful.ear... done.
    Auto-deploying statful (Assembly had been updated)...
    SQL error: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    Warning: Error creating table: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not esta
    blish the connection
    Auto-deploying statful.jar (ejb-jar.xml had been touched since the previous depl
    oyment)... SQL error: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the
    connection
    Warning: Error creating table: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not esta
    blish the connection
    done.
    The JDBC connection string is "jdbc:oracle:thin:@guopingc:1521:localdb", and it works well if I use it in another java client, like DBVisualizer.
    Thanks!
    CU, Chris

    Chris,
    Thanks for that quick little tip! I've been having the same error and just spent close to two hours looking through newsgroups et al. for help. Naturally, they all suggest that the database isn't started or the connection data is incorrect. I did what you suggested and now I'm back in business!
    If any Oracle or Atlassian oc4j folks are reading - I was receiving a "Network adaptor could not establish a connection" message when deploying to oc4j from jdeveloper. (To Oracle 8.1.7 w/ jdeveloper 9.0.2.8.2 and ocj4 that came with that.) HOWEVER #1, "test"ing both my app server connnection and database connection worked perfectly from within jdeveloper. I could even open the DB connection and view the db contents. HOWEVER #2, my deployment worked for a while before I started seeing this error. That is, I first created 4 EJBs and deployedc to the container completely successfully. I made some changes and re-deployed successfully. Then I added 3 more beans and started getting the error! This should be fixed.....

  • SQL error during bean deployment: E/A-Exception

    Hi,
    deploying and running a CMP bean still makes trouble on my OC4J server. The following exception occures when I deploy such a bean to a remote OC4J server (it works fine when I use the internal OC4J process of JDeveloper using the same JDBC connection):
    Auto-unpacking E:\Apps\OC4J\j2ee\home\applications\statful.ear... done.
    Auto-deploying statful (Assembly had been updated)...
    SQL error: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    Warning: Error creating table: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not esta
    blish the connection
    Auto-deploying statful.jar (ejb-jar.xml had been touched since the previous depl
    oyment)... SQL error: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the
    connection
    Warning: Error creating table: E/A-Exception: The Network Adapter could not esta
    blish the connection
    done.
    The JDBC connection string is "jdbc:oracle:thin:@guopingc:1521:localdb".
    Thanks!
    CU, Chris

    Hi Edwin,
    have you access to the AAD25B.mxml file and take a look at the lines where the errors occurs?
    Maybe you get further particulars about the errors.
    But I think, this is an error in VC, but I'm not sure.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

  • Security problem when trying to connect a CMP Session Bean deployed on J2EE

    I am working through Wroxs book Professional java Mobile Programming and trying to set up the Mobile Positioning project. The book has instructions for Ericson MPS-SDK 3.0 but the only version available now is the 5.0 and these instructions are no longer valid. I have built the application with the Studio 4 IDE and deployed it on an instance of the J2EE reference Implementation and this seems to work fine. However I have built a CMP session bean which should connect to the Ericsson Emulator running on their supplied Eserver and this connection is failing with a security problem. Following is a snippet of the code I have used to instantiate the connection.
    ConnectionFactory con = null;
    con = new ConnectionFactory(true);
    The code compiles with out errors but when I try to test it I get the following error
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission sun.net.inetaddr.ttl write)
    Any Hints or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Oops!! I meant Session Bean NOT CMP Session Bean
