Stacks won't fully open- only highlight

Hi, I'm sort of new to Aperture. I have this wierd problem in Aperture, that just happened, where my stacks, when collapsed look normal, but when clicked to open, only highlight the keyphoto in the dark black that stacks have, but the rest of the photos don't show. So, meaning, when closed, there is a number representing the photos in the stack and you see the keyphoto (lets say 50 photos). But when i click the num to open the stack, it switches to "1 of 50" and highlights the one key photo in the dark black background, BUT the rest of the photos don't show. I may have hit a key that was a keyboard shortcut or something, im not sure, but my stacks don't open/fan out.

NEVER MIND Problem solved- it was a glitch or something, I restarted the program, and all is fine. On the other hand, if you are still visiting this discussion, could u tell me why setting the Screensaver for the aperture albums can't see any photos in the albums? It just says "no photos in the album" even though there are.

  • App won't fully open to operate

Application opens, then a loading bar comes up and never stops... no text in the window so I have no idea what is trying to load.

My computer crashed and when it restarted, pages won't fully open. I get a window with a loading bar that just rolls. There is no text in it, so I have no idea what it is. I've tried trashing preferences, but that didn't work. I tried reinstalling without uninstalling and that didn't work. I think I really need to uninstall Pages, don't know how. I tried Yvan's script, but it didn't work... I get a syntax error.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • Safari won't fully open after X.8.5 update

Thoughts, anyone?  I just did the latest update, and now Safari starts to open, but stops responding before I can type anything into the address bar.
I looked at permissions in Disc Utility, and there were a ton of Safari issues.  I hit repair permissions, and Disc Utility chuntered through a ton of them, and claimed to have fixed them.  But it made no difference to Safari, and when I went back to Disc Utility the same permssion problems were all there.  I tried it several more times, and still the permission issues were there.
    Other ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. If the command produced no output, the window will be empty. Post the contents of the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix\.cron)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; echo; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; echo; sudo crontab -l; } 2> /dev/null | open -ef
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    { launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'; echo; crontab -l 2> /dev/null; } | open -ef
    Step 4
    ls -A /e*/{cr,la,mach}* {,/}Lib*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts .la* 2> /dev/null | open -ef
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of login items' | open -ef
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

The other day it froze saying there was a script error, but would never fully close or let me do anything including restarting or shutting down my computer. • Iphoto won't fully open after computer being off for two weeks.

After being gone for two weeks I came back home, turned on my computer and tried to load some pictures I had taken into IPhoto.  I opened the program but in only partially opened and all I get is the spinning pinwheel.  After waiting several minutes for the program to finish loading I finally had to force quit it.  After several attempts I gave up.  I've downloaded all updates and don't know what else to do.  I'm wondering if the most recent update is for Lion and I'm still running Snow Leopard.  Could that be the problem.  I've sent the reports to Apple but of course won't receive any response.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

No screen, so I can't start in safe mode; won't quit; won't force quit; won't let me uninstall the app; won't allow the computer to restart because the app is supposedly "open"

Rebooting the computer should close everything.
Start '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web Link} by holding down the '''<Shift ''(Mac Options)'' >''' key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
    While you are in safe mode;
Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''General.'''
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

  • ITunes installed, but won't fully open

after downloading and installing iTunes 7.0.2 I try to open the program without much luck. It takes me to the user agreement page, but then and error comes up. The error says, "The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this file is in the "My Music" folder. How do I get passed this so I can run iTunes on this machine?

Make sure your computer meets System Requirements. I recommend uninstall and reinstall of iTunes. Try this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976 ~.~

  • DNG Converter Menu won't fully open

Hello Folks. I am at wits end (I know - short trip LOL). Having difficulty with the install of DNG 5.3 (XP with CS2).
The menu page opens but the bottom part of the DNG menu (where you push the buttom for "convert") is missing! I have tired to re-download and reinstall numerous times. It simply is not there. I get 4/5ths of he menu screen, but not the bottom business part!
I had a recent XP update. It did work earlier. I shoot with a 5DMark2 and am converting CR2 to DNG (r trying).
I cannot figure this out. Searches revealed this problem (I believe in this forum) but there was no answer except for possible screen configuration/resolutions. (Tries that too.)
Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.
    Greg.

Have you increased the display magnification (via the advanced display properties)? Depending on the magnification, more or less of the dialog controls may not fit in the window (funny, if you click on any control and use the Tab key, you can step through the invisible controls as well, but that's a guesswork, for you don't know which one has the focus).
I posted this error for at least a year ago, or much longer back. The answer was "we are working on it". A possible solution is changing to the "new" XP interface (like the rounded cornered dialog boxes, as opposed to the "Classic" interface).

  • Final Cut Pro won't fully open with new OS 10.10.3

final cut pro version 10.2 will not open with OS 10.10.3. Rather, it starts to open in my project, then hangs up with the spinning wheel that never stops. I upgraded the OS to this one just last week and haven't been able to open fcp cc since then

    1. Can I rename the library as I wish to reflect the project topic?
    - Libraries can be named anything you wish.  Rename them in the Finder.  Or simply name them when you first create them.
    2. Can I safely drag it into the external drive so everything is in the same place and space is saved on the computer? I realize upon FCP start-up I'd have to locate the library to re-establish the connection.
    - You can move Libraries to any location you wish in the Finder.  If you don't want your media to do offline (relink), you can select the Library in the Browser, go to the Inspector, click the Consolidate button.  This puts everything physically inside the Library so it is self-contained.
    3. The library (on the computer hd) seems to create new libraries sometimes. One when I used FCP the first time. Another when I restarted using option/command, etc. Another with a little test video when I first purchased the program. Can I delete every single library (now in the movie folder) other than the one I am working on, or does the FCP system somehow need to hang on to one or more other libraries?
    - There has to be one Library open when you launch FCPX.  If you closed all your Libraries before quitting FCPX, then it will create a default Library in your Movies folder.  You can move unneeded Libraries to the trash in the Finder, FCPX doesn't care.

  • IiWeb won't fully open at launch.

An hour ago I updated to 3.0.2, all seems to have gone well: I was able to open iWeb and started doing some maintenance on my website. Then I tried to open a gallery page and whilst the background and header would appear, nothing else would. I save my work so far and quit out.
Now, upon launching, the Icon bounces, the taskbar changes accordingly, the "Opening" popup appears and the blue bar goes all the way to the left, the inspector window opens, but nothing else. The main iWeb window refuses to appear. The taskbar works as if the main window is visable, but it's not!
I've tried a few re-starts and a PRAM reset just for good measure, but nothing. Can anyone help as I'd planned a big update today!

    Fixed it, but not happy!
Eventually got it to open correctly by navigating to the domain file and clicking it.
Some of the "album" pages consisted of a lot of albums with lots of photos in them, these seem to have caused the problem. I had to delete them all albums to get iWeb to work. Not sure if this is an issue with 3.0.2 or I've just been unlucky. Either way the rest of my day will be spent putting 3 years of photos back online.
    Balls!

  • Multi-Cam Window Won't Fully Open for Cam 1

Hey, maybe this is easy, but I've been struggling with it for several hours now and it's frustrating me. I'm using Premiere Pro CC and it's been like this since the new format was introduced. I've checked setttings, and I'm sure this is something simple, but I have yet to find it.  If I grab the lower right side of the panel, it just makes it bigger with the same amount of Cam 1 visible.
Why can't I get Cam 1 to show up in this multi-cam shot?

Use the Flyout menu to uncheck Show Multi-Camera Preview Monitor
