Standard converters: setValueBinding is missed

I noticed that the JSF Sun implementation and also MyFaces one don't offer a setValueBinding() method for Converters.
I need to dynamically create an input component in my backbean and add a convertDateTime to it, I would like to set the "timeZone" attribute using a value binding expression.
There is any other way to do this without the setValueBinding() method?

I would like to create the following code dinamically in my backbean:
<t:inputCalendar value="...">
  <f:convertDateTime timeZone="#{MyBean.timeZone}" />
</t:inputCalendar>so, the backbean code I wrote is:
Application application  = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication();
HtmlInputCalendar input = (HtmlInputCalendar)application.createComponent(HtmlInputCalendar.COMPONENT_TYPE);
DateTimeConverter converter = (DateTimeConverter)application.createConverter(DateTimeConverter.CONVERTER_ID);
converter.setValueBinding("timeZone", "#{MyBean.timeZone}"); // no setValueBinding() method defined in javax.faces.convert.Converter
input.setConverter(converter);the problem is that neither Converter interface nor the DateTimeConverter implementation offer the "setValueBinding" method, only setTimeZone(TimeZone timeZone) is present.
Obviously, the problem is not related to the specific input component I used in my example.
Any hint or suggestions are very appreciated...
