Starting and Stopping Server from Administration Console without using system ID

Hi,
I tried to create another user in the ACL and add it to the Administrators
group. When I connect to the admin console using this user I receive error
message NoAccessRuntimeException. Can anybody show me how ti configure user
to access the console to start and stop managed server. I am using WebLogic
6.1 SP1. TIA.
regards,
Rudy

Any user added to the Admin group should be able to use the weblogic.Admin
utility and stop the server and access the console. So if we add Rudy as a user
to the Admin group then Rudy should be able to stop the server and also use the
weblogic.Admin commands. however, you cannot start the server with rudy's
password. You will require a system password for starting the server.
Please check if the user has been added correctly to the Admin group. you can
check this in the fileRealm.properties file:
user.rudy=0x751cc5f18261ba5e570c19a0d2d3cc29a5c5de63
group.Administrators=system,rudy
hope this helps,
Mihir

    You need to run the Node Manager on the manged servers you wish to remotely
    start.

  • Error while shutting down 'Admin Server' from administration console

    hi,
    When I try to shutdown admin server from administration console(Weblogic server>Control>Shut Down...) I get this error:
    No Machine associated with server AdminServer. Please associate a machine to this weblogic server using weblogic console first.
    Not able to understand what this means....
    thanks

    Read up on Node Manager - a outside-of-WLS-process that can start/stop WebLogic on your OS instance. Node Manager uses the "machine" concept.

  • Starting and Stopping Instances from Netweaver Administrator does not work.

    When we go to our http://<host>:<port>/nwa and navigate to Systems. We see our instances, although we see status and UNKNOWN.
    Also, when we click down to see our server nodes, and try and restart them or stop them...we enter our user/pass for Unix and but it doesn't do anything.
    Does anyone know what is involved to get this functionality to work? We're not looking install CCMS or anything like that, we just want th ability to start and stop our cluster from the central instance web administration screens.
    Thanks,
    -Tim

    Just works for us, without needing any config.
    If your running unix the alternative method is to use a tool called JCMON, much better than NWA.
    log in as <sid>adm onto your host.
    jcmon pf=/usr/sap/PEP/SYS/profile/PEP_JC00_xxxxx
    for our production portal for example;
    Which allows you to do admin on your java instance only.
    use the menu options 10 - 21.

  • Starting Managed Server from Administration Console

    Hi
    I am new for SOA and fusion. Can anyone share the brief steps that are needed to start/stop a Managed Server from Admin Console.
    I did a fresh install on RHEL5 and configure a domain. i was able to start the services from script which are created when creating a domain.
    But when i assigned a Managed Server to a Node Manager and try starting the Managed server. It does not start and in the log i can see exceptions like below
    Failed to invoke startup class "JPS Startup Class", java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.security.jps.wls.JpsWlsStartupClass
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    Failed to invoke startup class "ODL-Startup", java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.core.ojdl.weblogic.ODLConfiguration
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    I start the services in below order
    Weblogic Server
    node Manager
    and
    soa_server
    Thanks
    Hari

    you must set to true the StartScriptEnabled property in nodemanager.properties

  • Starting and Stopping FMLE from command line yields corrupt .flv files

    I am using FMLE to record and live stream TV content. In order to this I am remotely calling FMLEcmd in order to start and stop encoding processes. The problem that I am running in to is that the .flv files generated are corrupt. The odd thing is that if I use the exact same profile XML from the GUI, then the encoding process works just fine and results appear as intended.
    Here is the way my workflow works:
    I start the process by calling
    FMLEcmd /p C:\lighttpd\htdocs\xml\default.xml /l C:\lighttpd\htdocs\logs\log.txt
    then at the conclusion of the recording I call
    FMLEcmd /s "C:\lighttpd\htdocs\files\default.flv"
    When I attempt to open the files using FFmpeg I get a codec error saying that no codecs were detected. When I attempt to open the files in VLC I get a error saying that the media types are "Undf". When I attempt to open or modify the files with flvtool2 I get an end-of-file error. My guess is that my stop command is incorrect and somehow abruptly stopping the stream, but I don't know another way to stop the stream. Do I need to specify a specific stream duration in the XML and make sure to call the stop command *after* the duration has been reached? What would cause this codec corruption when the same profile works properly from the GUI?
    Here is the profile I am attempting to use.

    If issue of corrupt file after cmd line not in GUI mode. Are you using some automation to copy/paste output flv to someother location?
    AFAIK, after placing stop command, FMLE took some time to write proper EOF in FLV. wait ~10 sec for FMLE to complete file writing process and than play in FLV PLayer.
    I tried manually with steps you mentioned and it's working fine for me.I playerd file in Applian Flash PLayer. "http://www.applian.com/flvplayer/"

  • Start and Stop Apex from linux

    I have tried to find out which script is used to start and stop apex, but i hadn't been able to find it. If i do a netstat i do not see the 8080 port open but i can use apex. If i do "service oracle-xe start" oracledb starts correctly but i cannot use apex. Thanx in Advance

    here are windows script...
    First stop db, then listener then opmn (Apache)
    net stop OracleServiceXE
    net stop OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_2\opmn\bin\opmnctl stopproc ias-component=HTTP_ServerTo start:
    net start OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener
    net start OracleServiceXE
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_2\opmn\bin\opmnctl startproc ias-component=HTTP_ServerOn linux you start lister through lsnrctl start/stop "name of listener"... opmn is started the same way as shown here...
    db can be started/stopped as
    ORACLE_SID=XE
    sqlplus '/ as sysdba' @start/stop_script.sqlwhere start/stop_script.sql has:
    <b>startup</b>
    or
    <b>shutdown immediate</b>
    in it.

  • How to start and stop server?

    This is a design issue that may not belong in this forum, but bear with me, please.
    I have a stand-alone RMI server that I start thusly:
    public class StartServer {
        public static void main( String[] args )
            AppContext context = Server.getContext();
            String name = context.getProperty("dbServerRegistryName", String.class );
            String policyFile = context.getProperty("securityPolicy", String.class );
            System.setProperty("java.security.policy", policyFile );
            if( System.getSecurityManager() == null) {
                System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
            Registry registry = null;
            try {
                ServerImpl server = context.getObject( ServerImpl.class );
                server.initialize();
                registry = LocateRegistry.getRegistry();
                 * Use a stub when the server doesn't extend UnicastRemoteObject.
                Server stub =
                    (Server)UnicastRemoteObject.exportObject( server, 0);
                registry.rebind( name, stub );
                stdout.println("Server is ready.");
            }  catch( Throwable ex )  {
    }The server continues to run in the main thread when main() ends, which is okay I suppose.
    Now I have another class that stops it:
    public final class StopServer {
        public static void main( String[] args )
           /* Same setup code */
            try {
                Server server = (Server)Naming.lookup( name );
                if( server.pollReady() )  {
                     * Remote method requiring admin login to execute.
                     * Tells the server to quit.
                    if( server.stop( uName, pwd, delay ) )  {
    // unbind?
            }  catch( Throwable ex )  {
            System.exit( result );
        }                                       // main()
    }The crux of the question is, how should I quit once inside the running server?
        public final synchronized boolean stop ( final String uName, final String pwd, final long millis )
        throws RemoteException, InterruptedException {
    // TODO  login
            Thread.currentThread().wait( millis );
            Thread.currentThread().interrupt();
    }The server is single-threaded in that it runs the calling thread to completion - there are no spawned or worker threads.
    Does this approach seem reasonable or is there a better technique?

    The server continues to run in the main thread when main() ends, which is okay I suppose. That's what it's meant to do.
    public final synchronized boolean stop ( final String uName, final String pwd, final long millis )
    throws RemoteException, InterruptedException {
    // TODO  login
    Thread.currentThread().wait( millis );
    Thread.currentThread().interrupt();
    }Does this approach seem reasonable or is there a better technique?That won't stop the server, so no it's not reasonable.
    You should call UnicastRemoteObject.unexportObject(this, true). You don't need the 'millis' argument to this method.

  • Does Golden Gate provide any Webservices to start and stop services?

    Hi all,
    We are trying to use GG in our application. But we need a way to start and stop services from java code.
    Is there any Webservice interface or API to start and stop Golden gate services like GG manager, extract and replicat processes??
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Yamini.

    You can control this at a database level using EVENTACTIONS parameter.
    Create a table at source & target called "EVENT" with field EVENT_TYPE ( example names only - please call it what you like ) .
    at Replicat config actions based on the data passed into the EVENT_TYPE column
    MAP GG_ADM.EVENT TARGET GG_ADM.EVENT, &
    FILTER ( (@STREQ(@IF(@COLTEST(EVENT_TYPE,PRESENT),EVENT_TYPE,"No EVENT"),"STOP") = 1)), &
    EVENTACTIONS (IGNORE , LOG,STOP);
    You'll need a seperate replicat to handle the start
    MAP GG_ADM.EVENT TARGET GG_ADM.EVENT, &
    FILTER ( (@STREQ(@IF(@COLTEST(EVENT_TYPE,PRESENT),EVENT_TYPE,"No EVENT"),"START_APP_02") = 1)), &
    EVENTACTIONS ((SHELL (${GG_HOME}/diroby/start.ksh R1APP_02 )));
    Hope that helps

    Hi,
    You can use: startManagedWebLogic.sh, it is in your domain directory and you have to execute it in this way
    ./startManagedWebLogic.sh managedServerName http://adminServerHost:adminServerPort
    For instance, in my case I use:
    unixserv01:/webportal/domains/appServerWeb/bin>startManagedWebLogic.sh managedServ01 http://pelma3w3per01.mesaperu.next:7001
    You have to run it on the machine where the managed server was installed.
    Best regards,

  • SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration

    I am trying to configure Technical Systems in SLD (for deploying a webdynpro application which has models). Logged in as Administrator. I see this message when I login from the portal (https://host:port/sld):
    "SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration." And all the links are greyed out.
    When I log in to the Visual Admin, services->Sld->and tested the connection (with same ID as Administrator), I see "connection test failed CIMClientObject"
    What ID, password should I be using for testing the connection for SLD in visual Admin. Or is this related to ID password at all.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    Thanks for the replies!
    I still have the same problem.
    When I select the SLD Data Supplier under services in Visual Admin, I see an error on the task bar at the bottom: SLD_Collector_Task
    When I open this item, I see the following error message:
    "2008.12.10@10:51:20: HTTP call failed: Failed to send HTTP data: 503 : Service Unavailable. Please check if the target SLD system is available and the SLD bridge is started there"
    Is this something related to SLD configuration.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

  • DS XI3.2 SP1 - Problem when starting RFC server from management console

    Hi,
    We're using DataServices XI 3.2 SP1 FP1 on a windows 2008 server 64bits to load SAP BW. We have set up an external system in SAP BW called "DI_SOURCE" and then successfully created a RFC server interface (DI_SOURCE) within the management console.
    When we try to start this RFC server from the management console, we immediately get the following error message : "An internal error occurred in: server.start()::rfc_bad_connection".
    On the other hand, when we follow the "old method" (pre SP2) and start the RFC server from a command window, it works : we have "CONNECTION DI_SOURCE OK" in SAP BW.
    Any ideas how to solve this ?
    Thanks,
    Olivier

    Hi,
    We have tried your suggestions above.
    Instead of just crashing we now get an error from designer (before closing down). Seems as if our librfc32.dll has a problem.
    We have verified that the librfc32.dll from the Data Services package is the only one on the server.

  • Unable to start Managed server from admin console using nodemanager

    I changed the ip address and hostname of the server on which Weblogic Server 10.3.5 is running. After that I am unable to start the managed servers using Admin console. Is there any changes in the nodemanager configuration files which need to be done to start the managed servers from admin console.

    Hi there,
    Can you check the following configuration in Weblogic admin console ?
    1- Check which listen address mentioned under the Machine configuration ( Environment > Machines > select appropriate nodemanager machine >Configuration > Node Manager ). If it is pointing to old host name, change it to new one.
    2- Once you done with Step 1. Check whether the machine is reachable or not. ( Machine > [Your Machine] > Monitoring > status.
    3- If still isuse persists.. Check the managed server startup log files ( for eg:- managedserver1.out under the path $DOMAIN_HOME\Servers\managedserver1\logs directory.
    Thanks
