Starting BPEL Server gives NameNotFoundException

Starting the BPEL server for the first time I get ...
java.lang.Exception: Failed to create "ejb/collaxa/system/ServerBean" bean; exception reported is: "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb/collaxa/system/ServerBean not found
The container starts - but I assume that the BPEL engine is not available.
Also - my java is placed in c:\Program Files\j2sdk\... so the original message is ... c:\Program not found. I changed the last line of the file startOraBPEL.bat to read ...
"c:\Program Files\j2sdk\..."
I assume that this is correct, because without this it won't run at all

Hello,
I have encountered the same problems as the gentleman above. I edited the startOraBPEL.bat to point to my oracle 10g jdk instead of the jdk located under D:\Program Files. After this change was made, I was able to get the server started, but ran into the same NameNotFoundException:
java.lang.Exception: Failed to create "ejb/collaxa/system/ServerBean" bean; exception reported is: "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb/collaxa/system/ServerBean not found
Has this error been resolved? I am running on a Windows XP Professional OS. Thanks for any help.

    Hi All,
I am unable to start BPEL PM server. When I click startbpelserver the console window comes up and closes automatically after few seconds. Install is Standalone BPEL PM version 10.1.3.1
    thanks

    Hi,
I assume that you tried to start the server using the start_oc4j.bat script. Did you try running the script from a command line? This way you should be able to see any error messages.

    Hi,
I got the same errors while i am restarting my SOA Server.
The error is pasted for your reference.
I also put down the fix which actually resolved this issue.
Error parsing oc4j-ra.xml at D:\Oracle\product\10.1.3.1\OracleSOA\j2ee\oc4j_soa\application-deployments\orabpel\BPELjms: Fatal error at line 1 offset 1 in file:/D:/Oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleSOA/j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/bpeljms/: .<Line 1, Column 1>: XML-20108: (Fatal Error) Start of root element expected.

This load was initiated at hw_services.root:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method.
The missing class is available from the following locations:
         1. Code-Source: /D:/Oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleSOA/bpel/system/services/lib/bpm-services.jar (from <code-source> in /D:/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/OracleSOA/j2ee/oc4j_soa/config/server.xml)
This code-source is available in loader oracle.bpel.common:10.1.3. This shared-library can be imported by the "hw_services" application.
I followed the following steps which actually fixed this issue.
    1. Deleted the folders 'orabpel','hw_services','esb-dt','esb-rt' located under <ORACLE_HOME>\j2ee\oc4j_soa\application-deployments folder.
    2. Now restarted the SOA suite server using 'opmnctl startall' command.
The deleted folders will be recreated when we restart SOA server. In other words hw_services and orabpel and other esb jars will be gracefully re-deployed during SOA restart.
After restart you could checks for these deleted folders as a confirmation.
Now user should be able to login to BPEL Console.

  • BPEL Server can not start after jazn default realm has been modified

    Hi, everyone:
In order to customize my user task assigneeGroup, I set up a new realm in the jazn-data.xml using the shell (java -jar jazn.jar -shell). I tried to modify the jazn.xml file in %OraBPELPM%\integration\orabpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\config, and set the default-realm attribute to my new realm.
After these modification, the BPEL Server can not start, the server seems to stop after loading the first two EJB.
Does anyone ever encounter this problem? Could anyone help me?

It appears that I had the wrong oracle home and as a result some of the steps were skipped by the Universal Installer during installation, but installation was still claimed as successful. Even by launching the 'Mobile Server Repository Wizard' manually by running 'repwizard.bat' did not provide all the necessary window boxes to provide the details such as the SID, hostname, port number. I re-installed.
After starting the back-end database and then starting mobile server and testing in IE to see if the server was working by typing in http://<host name>:80/webtogo, I got the screen displaying mobile server.
    Many thanks for your help.

  • BPEL server can not be started

I have installed the BPEL manger server in windows 2000, I could not start the BPEL server and I could not launch the BPEL console either.
    What is the possible problems?
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Did you get any errors during installation? If you have installed it successfully, you can go to the [orabpel-home]/bin and run startorabpel.bat to start the bpel server.
once the server is up, you can go to http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole to see the server console.

  • BPEL server won't start

I have installed BPEL manager succsfully in windows 2000. Somehow, the BPEL server can not be started and therefore I could not launch the BPEL console either.
    Mrk

could you please try to start the BPEL server from the command line: startorabpel.bat and see if it starts successfully. If not, please post the information you are seeing at startup time.
    Edwin

Generally this error should not stop server. Carefully check the server startup log and see if there are other errors as well. Post them here. You may consider mailing your server startup log to my id.

  • How to deploy my own web services to the Start BPEL PM Server?

Recently, I am learning the JDeveloper BPEL Designer(version 10.1.2.0), I had finished my first BPEL process CreditFlow flowing the quickstart guider.
Now I wonder how to deploy my own web services to the Start BPEL PM Server? I mean I don't want to invoke the CreditRatingService as I did flowing the quickstart guider, but to invoke my own web servcies. Now I had made some web services with eclipse and deployed them to the tomcat5.0. but how can I invoke these my own web services just like I invoked the CreditRatingService in the JDeveloper BPEL Designer?
    Thank you!

Copy the WSDL file from your Tomcat server onto your development machine. Add them to your project in JDeveloper. Then add a partnerlink and specify the WSDL location. Then add you role, variables and compile!

  • J2EE server gives error when i start it.

Hi, I am Fahad. I installed j2sdkee in the directory c:\javalanguage\j2ee\j2sdkee1.3 and j2sdk at
    c:\javalanguage\jdk1.3
I am using the latest version of j2sdkee produced by sun and jdk1.3
I have set the JAVA_HOME and J2EE_HOME path as prescribed by the sun.
    My platform is Windows2000 professional.
When I start the server writing j2ee it gives me the following list of errors and the server doesnot start.

    c:\javalanguage\j2ee\j2sdkee1.3\bin>
I am very tense and trying to start it since two days. Can anybody help me and explain what's wrong with that. thanks
    Fahad Ahmed

    Hi fahad !
i know this is common problem when u put j2ee.jar from ee sdk to ur local jdk extension ...now wht u have to is ...remove j2ee.jar from ur jdk's extension and restart the system..then simply start jdkee again .. i m sure no error will be waiting for u :)

  • BPEL server crashes

Our Bpel server runs fine and then all of a sudden it starts to give errors. Does anyone have any advice about what could be wrong. I pasted the log file info underneath, as you can see its info messages and then just errors and I have to restart the server.
    Thanks

Looks like the server is unable to connect to the dehydration database.
A standard installation would have this data source setup as part of the installation.
    "jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow"
This again uses the connection pool "BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL"
And the name of the data source is "BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow"
There are a few checks that you can perform.
    1. Check if the dehydration database is up.
If no then this should be up and running.
    2. Go to the EM and use {test connection} for "BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL"
If comes back with error then check if the dehydration database credentials has changed post installation.
There are a few other datasources that share the same connection pool. Check if these are working too.
