TksI had an agent service problem which after a lot of trouble resorted to a reinstall of OEM. It created the last 2 service errors being teh OEM and apache. I used a registry cleaner from
www.iomation.com. After running this utility I rebooted and the agent service worked again. The apache service was fixed by starting it in the console and reading the error to find that multiple entries were being made to the http.conf when reinstalling. The OEM service still doesn't work. I am assuming it is a problem with a configuration file which I am working on now.
Hope some of this helps, I know what a pain these problems are. Darrel, I dont know if its me, but that link doesnt work. Its a water/landscaping site. -

First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.

Help to start iSQL*PLUS and OEM services
Here is what I did in trying upgrade 10.1 to 10.2 on Windows:
1. use Oracle Universal Installer installed 10.2 in a separated ORACLE_HOME;
2. run pre-upgrade assistant (utlu102i.sql)
3. run Net Configuration Assistant to congired listner
4. run DBUA ( however message shows that database already upgraded)
At this point, new instance is up. new listner is working, but iSQL*PLUS and oem services didn't even be recognized by OS.
From Universal Installer, I saw iSQL*PLUS and OEM were installed. What I am missing here in order to start services of iSQL*PLUS and OEM?Well, the instance is running properly. sqlplus also works fine. Because there is no new OEM service available if you look at Services list, how it could be meaningful to connect to OEM through a browser? As fact, browser can not connect to OEM.
Do I need to reinstall 10.2? -
Starting OEM Windows Service only after database is ready
I have a Windows Service program (written in vb.net) that accesses an Oracle database via the Oracle ODBC driver. It runs fine as long as the database comes up first. In some installations, however, the Oracle system is not ready to connect when Windows auto-starts my service.
I have tried using both the database service name and the TNS_Listener... as a value in a DependsOnService key in the registry for my service, but it seems to have no effect. Judging by the event logs, Oracle continues to spin out "processes" for something over 30 seconds, which appear after my service is started regardless of what I do with the DependsOnService parameter.
How can I make Windows auto-start my service only after Oracle is ready?Sure, although "net start" is a Windows thing, not an Oracle thing. Here is the contents of my startup.cmd file.
net start "OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener"
net start "OracleServicePROD"
net start "OracleDBConsoleprod"
net start "OracleCSService"
net start "OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus"

The thing in quotes is the service name found in the Windows Services panel. In order to use this method you should set the services you wish to control as Manual startup (instad of Automatic). You can do that by right clicking on a service name/Properties/Startup Type.
To do a shutdown, I reverse the order of the above script and of course change the starts to stops. -

Error in starting the service Oracle CSService not found

i am trying to install Oracle Enterprise manager grid control,
i am getting the following error message
"error in starting the service Oracle CSService not found"
when i checked in the "services.msc" the Oracle CSService is not started, so i tried to start the service, but its not starting and giving the error message as "error 3 system cannot find the path specified"
then i checked in the service properties, and the path is pointing to a different directory,
now i want to change this path to the correct oracle bin directory.
any views how to cnage/update this path in the services.msc, for "Oracle CSService"

Ihave tried everything that Apple has asked and it keeps giving me the same message. First I get this message

I have deleted everything itunes/apple on the laptop, i am the administrator and created another account on my computer that was administrator and i have ran the fix it tool, and have reinstalled apple itunes and still get the messages. i have deleted all virus protectors, took my firewall down. and still same errors. i just got an iphone 4 with no music and I cannot afford to pay for my music when i can just put it on there.

Access is deniedCould be you don't have a dbconsole service. Or it can be started, default it's started automatic. Maybe it's on disabled.
Or take a look at emctl status dbconsole
If your on W2008 try opening the dos-box as "Run as Administrator".

Problem with starting OEM-agent on NT (clustered)
We have problem with starting the OEM-agent (9i) on Windows 2000. The Nt-server is clustered.
I have started the OracleAgent by the service screen. Everyting looks ok.
But, from the server where the OEM-console is installed I can't contact the
agent.
I stopped then the agent and started it by typing;
d:\oracle\ora92\bin\agntsrvc.exe
Than i get the error:
StartServiceCtrlDispatcher Failed with err 1063
Anyone an idea?

First you need to create a script for rc
A good example that every oracle installation references for linux database installations is the dbora script. Find it and use this as your baseline.
$ORA_OWNER = is the name of the account on linux that has execute permissions to the oracle binaries.
$ORA_HOME = is the path to your oracle product home
In the start portion add
su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl start agent" > /dev/null 2>&1
In the stop portion add
su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl stop agent" > /dev/null 2>&1
As root, type:
# chkconfig --add dbora
Adds the dbora to the init.d
# chkconfig list |grep dbora
confirm its there
# service dbora on
System will automatically turns it on/off at Startup/shutdown
# service --status-all | grep dbora
confirm its there and status
This gives you a startup/shutdown for both the DB and agent

I have an application where i download the FPGA directly from the host pc (RIO version 3.0). When i install the exe in a new system the problem am facing is that, RIO service doesnt start automatically and i need to start it manually by myself. Is there a way to launch this service from LabVIEW. Please help me out coz its not great to advice the customer to start the service when he installs it.

You really only need the RIO Server running on your host PC if your intending communicate with RIO devices on the host system from other systems on the network. For any cRIO real time controllers the RIO server is already started. If you are wanting to communicate to RIO devices on your PC from another PC on the network your absolutely right that you'll need to either start the RIO server manually or set it to automatically start ( which you've already mentioned ). How to do this is explained in MAX help but I put and image below just for completeness.
So was the question really, How do I make my installer set the Service to Automatic during the install? For this my first thought was you could have the installer run a .bat file after finishing and use a command line to set the windows setting for it, or possibly set the registry key ( if you knew it and knew what Windows version it would be installed on), some info might help here.

Sudden rebooting becoming a real pain!

I've been using this board quite happily for a couple of months or so and I like it but just recently, I've been getting sudden reboots for no apparent reason which, once back on the desktop, I'm informed that Windows has recovered from a serious error. I must admit that this is becoming a real pain now and I don't know what's causing it.
A few minutes ago, I just pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager and the computer just restarted for no reason. Every so often, it seems like I just have to hit one key and it reboots
I have read threads in this forum about users who had had similar problems and as far as I am aware, my PSU is up to the job - see system spec and my CPU temp, using stock heatsink with thermal pad is around 44Cat idle. I also have two fans inside the Enermax PSU and another 'exhuast' fan at the back of the case. The DDR voltage is set to 2.70v and the AGP voltage is set to 1.65v. Ok, to Danny, I downloaded "Memtest86" and after extraction, I now have an ISO file. When I burn the ISO to CD, does it create a 'bootable' CD with which I boot the computer with it or do I need to actualy create a bootable CD first? Also, what tests need to be run? See last few paragraphs.

SoCalMX: My AGP voltage has been at 1.65v since I build the system and I have never had any problems with rebooting until recently (but see my last few paragrahs below), but I will give it a try at 1.60v. BTW, I don't play games on the computer.
To all of you: I forgot to mention that I have been using the board for a couple of months or so and I was very happy with it but around a week ago, I enabled the Promise controller and moved my ATA133 drives from IDE1 to IDE3 and then updated the WinXP Promise S-ATA(378(tm) drivers from v1.00.16 to v1.00.29 and that's when I got my very first error message since I've been using the board, and the message was something like "IRQ less than or not equal to etc, etc, etc".
BTW, the drivers have been rolled back to v1.00.16.
I posted my problems in this forum and after trying a few suggestions from user's, I moved my drivers back to IDE1. I now don't get the IRQ message - at least not since I moved them back but I am getting the error as shown in my first post in this thread.
So, just to clarify, I had absolutely no problems with this board until I moved my ATA133 drives to IDE3 and updated the drivers and that's when the problems started. I have updated my PSU to the one shown in my system 'specs' below.
BTW, the drivers have been rolled back to v1.00.16 but I'm just wondering if the previously updated drivers are still causing problems and I'm thinking of formatting and re-installing XP to see if that will solve the issue?

I am having problems in starting the OEM service on a Win2K Server platform using oracle 8i. the service returns the following error, which doesn't really help in determining what is causing it. "Could not start the oracle managment server service on the local computer. the service did not return an error"
I had made no changes to the server prior to this error. OEM was working fine. I just restarted the server & the problem started.
I had this before & had to re-install 8i. Probably a bit drastic, but i couldn't think of any other way.
I have also tried running the .exe file the service refers to, but had no joy.
Any help is welcome.
