StatefulSessionBean timeout/NoSuchObjectException JDev 10.1.3

hi all,
i have a SFSB(v3.0) running in embedded oc4j ejb container.
it runs fine with multi-user enviroment. but when it runs timeout or the @remove method gets called explicitly, it always throw NoSuchObjectException, even i try to create a new SFSB object by access the server on another client.
my environment is JDev 10.1.3 with embedded oc4j
from the debug window, i can see every client gets the same object (i did see them from its id property), would it be anything i need to set in the configuration?
anyone familiar with this problem?
Thanks,
Edward
P.S. the same code will run well in JBoss with default config

Hi,
this sound like a OC4J issue, less than a JDeveloper problem. Please try and reproduce the error in stand alone OC4J and if you can, report the issue to

  • Timeout Creating App Server Connection in JDev 10.1.3 to OAS 10.1.3

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to deploy an application to OAS 10.1.3 on a Solaris server from JDeveloper 10.1.3 on my laptop for the first time.
    There are 2 OAS's installed on the Solaris unix server so the OPMN Port is one up from the default, and I've updated that to 6004, but I still get the following error on test:
    Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-hadrian-6004-default:
    Timed out (15000 ms) connecting to OPMN
    hadrian is the server name and I can ping it from my pc, i've tried in the home oc4j and another that i've created, but still no luck.
    Can anyone tell me what I'm missing or give me a hand troubleshooting this?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    OK, I got this working by switching the Connection Type from "Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3" to "Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3"
    This is a little confusing for me as I thought the only available 10.1.3 version of OAS was standalone. Is there a full 10.1.3 version available that I'm missing? And if not what is the difference between those 2 connection types.
    It also appears that with the non-standalone conn type I would have been able to easily instructed it to place the app in another container with the "OC4J Instance Name" field. In the standalone connection this was not provided and I wonder how it determines which container to load it in.
    Thanks for helping to clear this up for me,
    Tony

  • ADF Faces JDev 10g Dialog framework and session timeouts

    Hi,
    using ADF Faces & BC 10.1.3.4 for a web application with a main page that opens a dialog where the uses fill out stuff and click next until complete. Occasionally they will leave the application open and the session times out and when they go to use it they get the login page inside the dialog. They login but as expected the whole state of their session is lost resulting in no or the wrong record being displayed. Additionally of they go back to the parent window the row keys are all stuffed, they get the first record in the dialog even though the record from the previous session was still shown on the screen.
    Any web developer would know to close the dialog and login properly, but this for end users of any experience level.
    Is there anyway to prevent the login screen appearing in the dialog or at least direct them to properly re-establishing the session?
    Brenden

    Hi,
    the question is how you identify that the page is loaded in a dialog window. Because if you know this then the redirect would be to a html page that has an onLoad event defined that calls window.close();. Next problem then however is that the calling parent page too is timed out.

  • Session timeout while in a bounded taskflow.

    Hi all,
    I have ADFSecurity configured on project.
    If a session timeout occurs while we are in view1,(click dialog ok button) is redirect to login.
    If a session timeout occurs while we are in some-btf,(click dialog ok button) isn't redirect to login. White page with text Session expired appears.
    How can we redirect to login when a session timeout occurs while we are in a bounded TF?
    I already try to add servlet filter on the FacesServlet, but when i click on the ok button, the filter isn't called.
    Using JDev 12.1.3
    Thanks in advance.

    Session expiry has changed in 12.1.3 (see https://java.net/jira/browse/ADFEMG-264).
    Have you configured the session timeout warning?
    How?
    Do you use the filter approach?
    Have you installed an error handler in the bounded task flow?

    Hi,
    the problem seems not to be within your application but in missing files on your embedded OC4J. Just try and unzip the JDeveloper 10.1.3 install again.

  • BPEL - Handling invocation timeouts and Modifying Partner Link endpoints

    Hi,
    We've built the basic functionality that we need in our BPEL process but are facing 2 specific questions that we are a bit stuck with and would really appreciate some help on..
    1. Our BPEL process calls an external synchronous web service. We have a requirement that if this external web service is unable to respond to our BPEL process within a fixed timespan (say 1 minute), we need to treat this as a timeout and move on. Can anyone suggest what settings are required for this?
    2. The second query is with regards to a likely situation we will face after go-live. If the URL of the external service changes (lets say the service moves from one server to another), ideally we would want to be able to configure this URL change rather than have to modify the WSDL and rebuild the BPEL project in JDev with the new WSDL. Does the BPEL Admin Console provide any such feature? As far as I can recall from a project a couple of years ago, Websphere Process Server did provide such a feature and I'm looking for something similar here but have not found it yet. I am not looking to use dynamic endpoints within our flow - just for an admin feature that would allow me to modify the URL externally via the console.
    Would really appreciate any suggestions on these 2 points..
    Thanks and Regards,
    TB

    In response to your second query -
    a) you don't need to rebuild the BPEL project in Jdev in order to change the wsdl file. If you update the WSDL file with new values for your endpoint simply clear the WSDL cache and the process will pick up the new values in the new instances created from thereon.
    b) or if you dont' want to update the wsdl manually, you can write a piece of java code to change the endpoint URL's for the deployed BPEL processes using the code given here

  • Session timeout and Custon login module

    Hi,
    Dev Platform: Jdev 10.1.3.4.0, Oracle 10.2.4
    I'm trying to trap the session timeout and display a page. I'm using the code below from Frank Nimphius. I've also provided a console log of what is happening when the application times out. Instead of the filter being called the system is calling the dblogin module and attempting to login the anonymous user. I renamed the anonymous user and I just see log entries where the system attempted to find the anonymous user.
    If I use the application to logout I get a Logout page with a button to confirm the logout. When I press the button the session is invalidated and the filter code brings up my "Session Timeout" notification page. This isn't what will happen in the end but I just wanted to tell you that the filter does work in certain instances.
    How can I make the system not attempt to login the anonymous user and have the filter code run?
    TIA, Dave

    09/03/31 08:21:25 After New session count = 1
    At session timeout here's what I get:
    09/03/31 08:23:27 Count before destroyed = 1
    09/03/31 08:23:27 Destroyed session id: 854b4b95cf28ceb065d0489a31ee79c19feabb80716f6d828b77fc7044b210bf

    09/03/31 08:23:27 After New session count = 1
    Notice that the session Id in each case is IDENTICAL. That is why the Filter code isn't doing what it is intended to do. Whay is the same session ID being created after it is destroyed? Is there a configuration parameter that controls it?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    I'm having a problem running an application in JDev10.1.3 when mapping an oracle object to a java object.
    The error occuring is "java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle_oc4j_sql_proxy_SQLBCELProxy_tuinsurance_lib_ejb_PolicyRate__BCELProxy"
    This error only happens when i'm using Datasources retrieved through JNDI. If i use oracle.jdbc.DriverManager to instantiate a sql connection i have NO problem.
    Only when i look up a datasource do i have this problem with mapping oracle objects to java objects. Note this has worked in earlier version of JDeveloper (9.0.5.2) with JDBC 2.0.
    Does this have to do with Drivers or javax.sql.Datasource class in JDK1.4 ???
    Has anyone had this problem ? Any JDBC or JDev experts who can help me out on this one ?

  • JDev 10.1.3 how to invoke oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from command line?

    Hi, does anyone know how to invoke the JDev 10.1.3 oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from the command line? We have it working for 10.1.2, for automated deployment scripts.
    If I try the same thing for 10.1.3, I get an error.
    See below my command line and the output.
    I think the error is in the Oc4jDcmServlet URL, the format seems to have changed from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3.
    I tried to reverse-engineer by using an HTTP tracer, but that did not help.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    In my opinion, you will succeed in handling linefeeds in output texts by using an <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt> tag in conjuction with a JSF converter that replaces the linefeeds with a <tt>&lt;br></tt> tag in the text. You will have to implement a custom converter class (this is quite simple, see below) and to set it to the <tt>converter</tt> attribute of the <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt>. The converter class should look like:
    public class MyLinefeedConverter implements javax.faces.convert.Converter
      public MyLinefeedConverter() {
      public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) {
        return value;
      public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) {
        if (value==null) return "";
        if (value instanceof String) return ((String)value).replace("\n", "<br>");
        return value.toString();
    }In this way the linefeeds in your text values will be replaced by <tt>&lt;br></tt>, which will be rendered by the corresponding <af:outputFormatted> tag as line breaks.

  • JDev 10.1.3: Problem deploying a session bean to embedded OC4J

    JDeveloper 10.1.3, TopLink, OC4J, WinXP, java 1.4.2_05.
    I used TopLink to create a set of Java objects from a DB Schema, then created a simple Session Bean to read some of the objects. Everything compiles fine.
    JAVA_HOME points to the JDK (not JRE) and CLASSPATH is empty (undefined).
    When I try to Run my session bean in the jdeveloper embedded oc4j, I get this message. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • EJB 3.0 Stateful - Setting session timeout in configuration

    Hello Everyone,
    I am working with EJB v3.0 and Glassfish as the app server. In case of Stateful EJB, when we explicitely annotate a method with '@Remove', the bean instance is removed from the container when this method is invoked from the client. However, I just wanted to know if there is any way so that I can override the session timeout value (in configuration or via annotations) such that if no client calls this instance for some configured time, the bean is removed by the container automatically.
    Regards,
    San

    Using a Stateful Session facade from a Servlet is not necessarily a bad design. In some cases, you may want to do some cleanup work on completion of a transaction. Stateful Session beans provide a convenient way (By implementing SessionSynchronization interface) to do this.
    In the servlet programming model, Servlets are not designed to be single threaded. So if you inject a StatefulSessionBean (SFSB) references then multiple threads could be possibly be invoking the SFSB concurrently. In this case, the EJBContainer (as required by the specification), will throw a well defined exception.
    What you may want to do is to place this SFSB reference into you Servlet session.

  • Slow response when calling a web service from an ADF client in JDev 11g

    I have generated a web service (WS) for a stored procedure package with 3 functions. The WS has less than 1 second response times when I use the standard WS testing facility. I then created a data control for the WS selecting the default values in the JDev wizard. When I test the functions from a very basic ADF client the response times for the same functions are between 3-4 seconds i.e. very SLOW compared to the actual response time of WS. I need some advice on how to investigate this performance degredation as seen from the ADF client.
    Could the problem be that the data control was created from a web service in the same project? Maybe it is necessary to have them in separate projects or create a proxy?
    I created and tested the web service with the standard WS test tool and then simply went on to create a data control from this web service for use from a ADF client.
    Some background info:
    I saw the following warning in step 8 of the WS creation wizard:
    "The configured policy store location at "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\j2ee\home\gmds" is invalid. Application cannot read policies from this location. Check that the directory name is correct and the location exists."
    Also I can confirm that there is no j2ee directory in my environment.
    The application server logs the following for each call from the ADF client:

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}

    Hello Ric,
    Thanks for the response,
    I have tried to set environment vars, but it was unsuccessful.
    I have the old version of Jdev 10.1.3 and it's working with the message "Could not canonicalize ...."
    I have found the following thread in forum:
    Unable to start any application
    The system11.1.1.0.17.45.24 directory is on the network drive:
    H:\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.17.45.24\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\applications\dms.war
    and not on the:
    H:\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.17.45.24\o.j2ee\home\applications\dms.war
    I am not sure, but it seems to be the same problem with the embedded OC4J and dms.war, as discussed in the thread
    mentioned above.
    Thanks.
