Stellent UCM :: calling javascript inside the custom component

Hi Experts,
I am new to the stellent content server (Oracle content server). Currently we are working on the project which needs to be integrated with the content server for the content selection. I did some prototype to pass back the selection value to the parent window using the javascript window.opener.<parent java script> from a dummy page. Now i am customizing the content server custom component. Unfortunately i cannot be able to call back the parent javascript from the custom component. Seems the window.opener is null.
I have tried with windowUtils.getOpener() method which is available in the content server weblayout. Still i could not be able to call back.
Guys i am looking forward your idea ? If anyone knows the way to resolve this issue or any other best suitable way to handle this please ping me back.

LCES server caches the custom component classes

I found that sometime during the (patching) deploy/undeploy install/uninstall phase of custom component LCES start 'caching the custom component or its helper classes' and any changes made to them does not get reflected.
But after the server restarted every thing work as expected.
i.e. If server is restarted the latest changes to component deployed previously to server restart get reflected.
Pl. help.
Any one had simillar issue?

Hi Paul,
I have tried both of these frequently (many times)
1) Component > STOP > PATCH > START
2) Component > STOP > UNINSTALL > INSTALL > START
but no effect after some point when server keeps the cache. (it works some time but not all the time I thought 2nd approach should always work)
But if I restart the server it seems to show the expected result always.
Does any Adobe teche knows how to gaurrentee 100% that chnges will reflect after new version of the component is installed without restart of the server.
Also I seen some inside the service impl at the begining of the service method code store the classloader:
ClassLoader originalClassloader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
and restore it at the end of service method:
if (originalClassloader != null) {
Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(originalClassloader);
How does this affect?
and also if one component depends on another how does that affect?

Error when calling bpm service from custom component

Hi all,
I have built a custom component in order to fetch task related data by calling a bpm service inside the method of my custom service.
This is the error trace i got in audit info.
"not loading page MSG_PAGE because it is up to date with timestamp 1324331008000
Script stack dump (user: abc, request: IdcService=CUSTOM_SERVICE&dDocName=ABC018005)
No resource include or function stack for error. "
What does this error signify?
In the service definition of my custom service, I am using MSG_PAGE as my template. Is it related to this why i am facing the error? how do i get to know for a particular functionality i should use a particular template?
Please provide your inputs asap.

Please have a look at the stacktrace and provide me a solution as in how to overcome the error.
I had included Report.trace in order to check the flow of the program and found that the problem arises when i establish the connection.

To call methods inside the same application is possible to use RMI ?

What I should like to know is if RMI can easily be used to implement comunication (calling methods) inside classes that are part of the one same application... This should be a restrict case to use RMI...
The reason to do it come from the need to use the instance of a class knonwing it only as Object... This can be good to do if some code is used for general pupose in many different contexts.
In this case you can pass to the "server class" a parameter 'o' of type Object (all the classes extend Object) of the "customer class" to get back informations if some elaboration happen inside the "server class"...
This purpose is generally implemented with event listeners, but perhaps it could be done easily using RMI too (I dont know it...).
Using RMI in this simple situation, don't should require anything of complicate (stub, .... mashalling parametres....) to have the reference to method of the "customer class" to call. The "server class" already recives a reference of the "customer class" how parameter of type Object, and the mame of the method too.
I propose a simple thoeric example to explain really what I said before:

RMI doesn't help you in the slightest here. You can just realize it all using local method invocation. All RMI does is to make that remote. If the objects aren't remote there is no point.

How to acess a value of variable(calling prg) inside the methods of a class

i wrote a program where i need to acess a value of a variable inside the class method.
for eg:
CALL METHOD gcl_utl_app_log->display_log

      it_edidc = lt_edidc
      it_msg   = lt_msg.
while debugging under the method 'DISPLAY_LOG' when i want to acess a value of a variable (calling program) i cont get that value but i can acess the value of the variable just before the CALL METHOD statement.
so can any body help me in finding the solution for this.

Call RFC INSIDE THE SMARTFORM

Hi Experts,
i want to know , is it possible to call the RFC in side the smartform. In my requirement, i need some data from ECC system to display in the smartform of the CRM.
currently i am trying to call outside the smartform and pass to the same, but smartform is triggered from actions and due to other constrints i am not able to to do so..
hence kindly suggest me the other options or is it possible to fetch the data from the ECC to CRM usinfg the RFC inside the smartform.

Hi,
I hope yes you can write the RFC fm code inside the layout of the smartforms, but the problem is if RFC could not able to fetch the data from R/3 some times, or if it could not able to find the right records then it will return with error / blank records. To avoid all this kind of problems its better to write the same code in your driver program. In case if you dont get the data from R/3 then you can control the layout set from triggering.

I developed frist WD Application Using RFC Adapter.
i did the following steps
1. created the project
2. created the model.
3. created the customer controller and mapped the model of the controller to the model.
4. mapped controller context to the views
5. created one action in the start view
6. created one method in the customer controller.
so please let me know the lines of code to call BAPI using RFC.
and how to pass input valus to the bapi and how to execute the BAPI

Protect javascript inside the PDF from de-compilation

Hi Guys,
I have developed an fillable PDF using acrobat, which will publish to public. some of the input field needed to be validated using some javascript.
When I google the de-complilation pdf, I found that some free de-compilation pdf tool and easily de-compile the pdf and my javascript can be found inside the result.
because these javascript is sensitive that I don't want it to be exposed to public, is there anything I can do to hide the javascript?

Unfortunately I have a problem with the example code. Everytime i try to run the script an error message pops up:
"Error #1014: Class flash.external::HostObject could not be found."
Does anyone have a solution for this problem or any idea why this error appears?
I didnt change the script, i included the apedelta.swc and the link type of the apedelta.swc is external. (I checked it like a hundred times. :-))

Unless I am wrong, you cannot debug in Flex once you loaded csaw libraries. I mean, Flex will catch most mxml/as errors but it won't be able to deal with the part interacting with cs apps. At this level, only ExtensionBuilder can.
To be clear and given the fact you correctly imported the right classes and all needed stuff, this won't work in FB:
trace (app.activeDocument.name) or whatever cs dom command.

For what it worth, I created a jsinterface call to alert() so I use it as a trace replacement tool. Once again ExtensionBuilder is far more usefool in this workflow.

Insert icon for every row inside the shuttle component

I have a requirement where the shuttle component should have an icon side by the text and which also should be able to replace with the different icon based on some conditions
For example
The left side the shuttle component consists of list services. When the user moves some of the services to the right, in the right shuttle the 'X' icon should be displayed for each of the selected services.
When some action is performed these 'X' should be replaced with 'Yes' icon.

How do I call a java script method which is on a page that is embedded in a RichInlineFrame?
I'm using Jdeveloper 11g, JSP and JSFF pages and ADF faces.

currenly , your JSPX will not recognize javascript included in the (map.jsp)
Try putting your setIService('serviceName') function into parent page (JSPX) and it should call that function
I think you want to refresh your iframe page (map.jsp) when user presses the button on the main page

Nest array in a custom component

I am building a custom datagrid component name custDG. It is a canvas containing the DG and some other visuals. So the actual component is based on canvas and has a DataGrid nested.
I have also build a custom class name config based on Array to hold the DG column information
AND a custom object class name col to hold each column information inside the config array class...
My question is how to make it possible for user to nest the array and columns inside the custom component when adds it to an application. For example:

          <mike:col.../>
          <mike:col.../>
          <mike:col.../>
     </mike:config>
</mike:custDG... >
Want to make something similar to the columns-datagridcolumn thingie but with custom classes in a custom component.

I finally found how to set a default skin to a custom component so that users of my component will not have to set again the skinClass value of my component.
You have to create a defaults.css file at the root of your library and tell the compiler to take it into account.
The remaining problem is about the compiler. There are some steps before success and they are a bit mysterious/unclear....
I found 2 or 3 blog articles explaining those steps but the compiler arguments to use are all differents in each article...

There are two business divisions in our organizations. We have one party. Now we have to enable the ISA13 duplicate functionality for one business divisions. But the sender will send the same ISA06 and ISA08. Inorder to enable it may followed
the below approach,
Receive the File -> Change the ISA08 value -> Publish -> Validate with the party (Check ISA13 enabled) .
For the above process, created a pipeline component to change the ISA08 value. Now how do we can enable the message to get validated for "Validate with the party (Check ISA13 enabled)".

Yes I have created a new agreement with Check ISA13 enabled.
Yes i have placed the custom component(replace ISA08) in the Decode stage, then i used the builtin EDIDisassembler in the Disassembler stage, It is working fine. But i don't want to disassemble the message. Just required to validate the Party with its agreement.
And let it get streamed to next stage.
Please advice.
