Hello Jayasree,
1. Navigate to System Admin-> System Config -> System Landscape -> Portal Content
2. Select a folder in which you want to create the BI reference system
3. Right click -> New -> System. Select a dedicated system
4. Please read more on this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ec/0fe43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
Also send me a test email (check my business card for it) & ill send you a snapshot document on the above.
5. After system creation, you need to create a Web Report iView, put in the BEx report URL
Connection between Portal and BI complete.

  • Steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation

    Hi
Please provide steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
when i m opening standard iview in ESS in portal i m getting following runtime error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello Bhupinder Singh,
To use ESS/MSS services in Portal follow the following Steps
    Maintaining jCo Connections
    Use
jCo connections are used in iViews to connect directly to a backend. They are delivered with the portal content and must be activated (configured to access a specific system).
jCo connections have two parts: one with <jCo name>, and the other with suffix <jCo Name>_MetaData. The first one transfers user-specific data within the scenario; the other transfers only the needed metadata. For the jCo with name <jCo name>, SAP Logon Ticket is recommended as an authentication method. For the metadata connection, a user ID and password is needed. A system user created before is sufficient.
    Procedure
Within this guide we generically describe the step-by-step procedure for an example connection set. Perform all steps for the following jCos:
    u2022     SAP_R3_Financials / SAP_R3_Financials_Metadata
    u2022     SAP_R3_HumanResources / SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics / SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_Travel / SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataFIN

  • How to configure new system landscape in portal server for bsp iview

    Hi
can you tell me what are the necessary parameters (apart form default parameters that were there while creating new system landscape) for configuring a system landscape for using it in bsp iviews.
    thanks & regards
    Ashutosh

    Hello,
what you call system name has to be the system alias, and this alias has to be the same between DEV/QUAL/PROD environment.
Your portal application will look for data/BAPIs/etc... with this alias. Your portal application will know on which environment it has to retrieve data/BAPIs/etc... will be defined in each system object you have defined for each environment.
    Fabien.

  • Managed System SLM~ABAP is not configured (Step 10: Configuration Check)

When I try to spend the last procedure "Configuration Check" (item 10 - Managed System Configuration) I get here is only an error message
The definition of Technical System 'SLM~JAVA' is not correct: 'SLM~JAVA': Operating System 'Linux~2.6.32-358.23.2.' of Host 'sslm' must have at least one Software Component Version
'SLM~JAVA': Operating System 'Linux~2.6.32-358.23.2.' of Host 'sslm' must have at least one Software Component Version
Outside Discovery issue: refer to SAP Note 1611483
Managed systems setup | Managed System Definition Status (post setup) | SYSTEM =SLM~JAVA
What a way such settings: Managed systems setup | Managed System Definition Status?
I probably know only the tab SapSolution Manager: Configuration-> Managed system configuration-> Technical systems, but there make these settings is not possible.
How do I resolve this is "must have at least one Software Component Version"?
ps said note (1611483) has been done, but apparently no effect brought

    Hi Michael,
Can you please check below :
Correct Software Component version is displayed in LMDB -> Host - > Tab Installed Software.
Managed System setup -> Assign Diagnostic agent -> Check SAP Host agents (to enusre agent is running)
You may restart both Diagnostic and Host agent and check again after few minutes if data is updated.
Additionally please check below SAP notes which might help resolve the issue :
1890035 - Error "Host 'hostname' must have at least one installed Technical system" during the step 'Check Prerequisites'
1799138 - Solution Manager configuration check returns "The definition of Technical System '{SID}~{STACK}' is not correct: '{SID}~{STACK}' : Operating System '{OSName}' of Host '{hostname}' must have at least one Software Component Version"
    Hope this helps.

  • Error checking transport group configuration in System BQS

    Hi Everyone,
I made a client export from Production to Quality. It went successfully,, I noted the requests numbers and transported them from PRD to Quality, but while transporting there was a tp error(which i did not note), next i went to the quality import queue and saw all the 3 requests had come. But when i click the adjust queue icon im getting the following error message "Error checking transport group configuration in System BQS" .  Afterwards i tried to delete the requests from quality to retransport  from production but still im not able to delete those requests from quality. Can anyone help me solve this.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hello Rahul,
    regarding the error message:
"Error checking transport group configuration in system"
It's mostly related to the TMSADM RFC destination. Kindly follow the below mention steps:
    1. Logon to client 000 with user DDIC.
    2. STMS   > System   > Overview   > Select the system in which you are logged in   > Click on the menu says EXTRAS   > Generate RFC Destinations
Perform the above steps in all the systems configure in your TMS. This should resolve the issue.
    Best regards,

  • [SOLVED] Configure The System (Beginners Guide) Question

    Hello!
I'm currently working my way through the beginners guide, from the wiki.  All going ok so far and I've reached the Configure The System section. Which is where I'm a bit stuck.
Beginners Guide wrote:You will be presented with a menu including the most important configuration files for your system. If you want to look up the available options as stated in /etc/rc.conf just press Alt+F2 to get a shell, look it up, and switch back to the installer with Alt+F1.
The problem I have is looking up the available options. For example, to find my locale it states I should run locale -a, however when I hit Alt+f2 and enter the command at the bash shell ([Arch Linux: /]# ) I get the following error
    -bash: locale: command not found
When I attempt to lookup other items I'm also unable to find those (such as timezone in /usr/share/zoneinfo).
Can anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong, I'm missing something very obvious here, but sadly I just can't work it out!

I wouldn't skip all of the steps, particularly adding your hostname to /etc/hosts. Just fill in as much as you can, and edit the rest after you've finished installing, though I think the defaults are safe enough to have a running system.
If you typed in 'km' and chose your locale before you ran the /arch/setup command to start the installation, it should automatically enter in the locale you selected earlier (if you press yes in the dialog box that pops up).
Confirm this as that's what happended in this location on 2 recent install.

    Hi,
I recenty started instaling OBIEE 11g and got the same error : "Creating BI server system components". I read your solution and would like to know that if this patch is okay to install on a Windows VM (win server 2003 EE, SP2). If yes, after rebooting, do we reinstall ?
I am also getting the following errors:

  • Configuration framework system error - the configurable won't be loaded

Seems like it's related to the configuration of the .co.xml file. Like in the tutorial I have created this file in location src.config - install - date - cm - services - resourcelistfilter (this folder had to be created manually, not generated by the RF wizard).

  • Windows could not finish configuring the system error after sysprep /generalize

    Hi
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate RTM off from technet and as always I do make use of WIM images on having them deployed to my home PC's
I was able to have it installed on a clean machine and once the wizard appeared i immediately entered Audit mode (shift+ctrl+f3) and the usual I loaded all of the software i need to pre-install after I was done I Immediately loaded sysprep and had it with the generalized option
now this is where the problem begins....... after it restarts during the "Setup is starting Services" screen it gives me a message box error saying "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt resume configuration, restart the computer" and once I press ok it jsut restarts and gives the same error again.
This does not happen when i dont select the generalize option in sysprep.
Anyone who had the same issues?

I now have the ACTUAL SOLUTION to this problem.  This solution will actually tell you exactly what registry key is causing your sysprep to fail, so then you don't have to slowly install
every program until you find the problem -- especially since this didn't work for me because my problem has been intermittent.
This issue is caused by certain registry keys that are either:
    a) Larger than 8kb
    b) Set with incorrect permissions
    c) Corrupt in some way
For me, the problem was intermittent (same registry key would sometimes cause the issue and sometimes not - must be corrupt sometimes) so it was impossible to tell what program was doing it.  Luckily, there is a log you can look at that will tell you
exactly what registry key is erroring out.  Here are the steps for getting the log you need to see:
When you see the error message, do the following:
1.) Push Shift+F10 to get to a command prompt
    2.) Navigate to C:\windows\Panther
3.) Find the Setup.etl file and find a way to copy this file off of the system (I copied it to the D:\ partition and used Ghost to gather that partition and get the file off)
4.) Copy the setup.etl file from the corrupted system to another computer that has Windows 7.  Put it on the root of C:\ for easiest access.
5.) Open a Command Prompt on the Windows 7 computer.
6.) Navigate to the root of C:\ (or wherever you saved the file)
    7.) Type "tracerpt setup.etl -o logfile.csv"
8.) Close the command prompt and open up logfile.csv in your text editor of choice.
9.) Look through the log file (towards the end probably) for messages that say "Failed to process reg key or one of it's decendants"  For me, the exact eror looked like this: "Failed to process reg key or one of its descendants: [\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET
Security\CurrentVersion\Plugins\01000200\Profiles\@My profile]"  If you search for "reg key" or "failed to process" you should find the failure.
10.) Remove this software from your image, or find out how to get the registry key that is failing to work properly.
After this, you should be able to properly identify any problem keys and remove/workaround them on your image.
I see this post is about a year old at this point, but after searching the internet for weeks, I had high hopes for this solution. It seemed to go well, but the logfile.csv doesn't have the word "fail" in it anywhere...no "reg key", nothing. Did a sysprep
install with an unattend.xml answer file that seems to be working properly, but hangs at "Setup is starting services." forever.
At this point, I'm pretty convinced that the problem is a service or reg key error from one of the apps I installed during audit mode, but I can't tell which app/service is causing the problem.
Are there any other methods for viewing failed services or registry errors that would cause the sysprep install process to hang at "Setup is starting services."?
Willing to post logfile.csv from the "tracerpt setup.etl -o logfile.csv" command, or other log files such as setupact.log, etc. Nothing popped out at me.
For now I think I'll start making multiple .wim files with only certain software installed to try to discover which application is the culprit...just wish there was an easier way.

  • How to configure AS400 System in SLD

    Hi,
Am in need to configure AS400 system into SLD.  Driver and connection are done. Am in need to add the system into SLD.
do we need to add AS400 DB2 system as the third party system?

    Prem,
It depends upon your client standards and SLD naming conventions. If there are mulitiple interfaces to this system, then I would create a 3rd party business system in SLD. After creating you need to assign the corresponding target system, so that when you transport it will take care. Once created you need to import it into your configuration and do your interfaces configuration accordingly.
