ITunes says that my computer is not authorized to make changes to my ITunes library
I tried to download an album that I had previously purchased from ITunes. It is listed in my ITunes library. But ITunes states that my computer, this computer, is not authorized to download my albums. How am I able to get the authority I need for my computer to be able to take this action.
Hi Shneg1,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can use these steps to authorize your computer for iTunes purchases:
Open iTunes on the computer you want to authorize.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You might need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still use it to authorize your computer.
You can find these steps and more information on authorizing your computer here:
Authorize your computer using iTunes
If you've followed these steps and your computer still isn't authorized, these links may help:
iTunes keeps asking me to authorize when I try to play my content.
I need to deauthorize a computer or deauthorize all computers.
All the best,
Jeremy

iTunes says that my computer is not authorized.
I recently installed a new computer.
How do I authorize it?If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I need help because I recently purchased my Macbook Pro and I am trying to open a book that I purchased in Ibooks on my sons computer. We share an icloud account and my computer keeps saying that my computer is not authorized to open the Ibooks. How do I authorize my computer to be able to do that?

did you use your sons Apple ID..? If so... those items are tied to that Apple ID.
If your issue is with the Authorization of your New Mac...
On your Computer... Open iTunes...
If you're using iTunes 11 click on the box icon in the top-left corner to see the " Show Menu Bar "
and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
See Here for full details...

Hello susanserio
Try Deauthorize your account and then Authorize the account to see if any changes occur. Also there may a resolution in the second article that can be helpful as well.

I have songs in my iTunes Application that will not play. I keeps saying that this computer is not authourized to play name of song would you like to authourize it. The problem is its the old account I had and that has been changed. How am I going to authorize these songs when this account no longer exists.
I posted about this yesterday -- it happened to me, and the solution was incredibly simple. An Apple tech guy had me delete my SC Info Folder, located on my XP in Application Data.
Here is my post:

Here is the link about the SC Info Folder (4th down):

It wasn't every song, just a few of them. A nightmare to figure out what to do, but it was solved upon reboot. -

Trying to sync already paid for songs onto my iphone 4s but it says that my laptop is not authorized to sync purchased songs. I have already authorized it so I have no clue what to do. Help please.
What version of OS X do you have on the computer? Also, is the iPhone being recognized in iTunes?

ITunes insists that my "Computer Is Not Authorized" for certain songs
Several weeks ago whenever I attempted to sync my iPod up to my computer, I would get an error message that my computer was not authorized to play certain songs that were on the iPod and that if I were to sync them, the songs would be deleted from the iPod.
I had purchased these songs some time ago through iTunes on this computer, so I know the message is not legit. Out of curiosity, I tried to go ahead and authorize the computer again and got an error message that the request could not be completed and I should try again later.(An unknown error occurred (-42408)).
I have the latest versions of OSX and iTunes - though I think the last iTunes upgrade might have caused it - so updating software isn't an option.
So right now, I have 100 songs that I've purchased through iTunes that I cannot play. The selection of songs seems to be random. In one case I purchased two songs that I bought from the same artist and album - iTunes will play one and then give me the error message with the other.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
thanks,
MikeSame deal here....been getting the whole shmear...."this computer is not authorized", then when I authorize it....the error message thing....have done the admin thing...restarted iPod, iPhone, iTunes, iMac...and iMad!!! Apple's iTunes support is trying to help me...but everything they suggest has been posted in your threads. This morning, I got an email from Apple telling me the problem had been resolved. WRONG!!! Same old stuff....very un-Apple-like....but at least with many others experiencing the same problem....I know it's an Apple issue.
My suggestion is for as many of you who are having the problem to contact the support people, tell them the problem and the shear numbers will generate a fix. I have 400 purchased songs I can't play!!!!!!!! Good luck....brick -
When I reauthorize and press play, it pops up saying that I am still not authorized.
Have you authorized on the correct account? Is there a chance you've changed apple IDs recently? Or perhaps that you use more than one to buy media?

Authorized music purchased will not play says unauthorized to play and when you follow instructions to fix the issue says authorized...
If only a few songs on an album are doing that, that suggests the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
I've tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer, exiting and reentering itunes, restarting my computer...nothing is working! I don't know what else to do
Delete the Album including files from your iTunes, then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through Music tabs to download again for free

The rest of the songs work just fine, and when I go to authorize my computer, nothing changes. I would like to avoid having to buy the track twice, but I can't seem to get it to play. Is there anything I can do?
If music redownloads are free in your country, delete and redownload it. If not, click here and request assistance.
