Steps to Edit Pocess chain

Hi Guru's,
I want to edit my process chain but my development, quality and production systems are not in sync. So, I need to do the changes directly in Production system only.
Please tell me the steps to edit the Process chain,I want to add wait time for a particular Process.Give me clear idea then i can proceed.
Regards,
Anand.

Hi,
For editing process chain go to edit mode of PC then you can add the required step you want.
For wait time go to nelow thread
[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/67/13843b74f7be0fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
i.e
wait time is used  only to debug a process run.
Specify how long (in seconds) you want the delay to be between one event being triggered and the next process starting.
You can capture the process by using transaction SM37 (Job Overview) or SM50 (Process Overview

  • Editing process chains of BW in Redwood CPS

    Hi All,
I have imported the BW process chain in Redwood CPS (SAP_BW_ImportProcessChains) and ran the same through Redwood (SAP_BW_ProcessChainRun). It was running fine.
Now the requirement is to edit few steps (in sub processes of the main chain) and add new steps in redwood is it possible? (Main reason is to create dependency of sub process with other system job)
I am trying to edit the sub chains but I am not getting any edit option in sub chains to put some dependencies.
Experts need your suggestion on the same and I appreciate if any document or print screen is available to support your suggestion.

    Hi Babu Murthy,
Thanks for sharing your views I really appreciate it. I know that this is the only option but our requirement is to add other system jobs specially the operating system jobs (UNIX/SOLARIS) in between the BW process chain. It is not possible to add the operating system jobs in SAP (if possible please let me know) that is why I want to edit the chains at Redwood level.
Moreover, I am trying to create manual chains in Redwood as same as we have in BW system (but it is too much complicated and I don't think so it will work). Is this a good option? Or any thing else I can do for this?
    Please share your comments.

  • What is the next step after editing or triming a video ? What type of file format to save and what to do after that ?

what is the next step after editing or triming a video?
what type of file format should be save and what to do after that?

In the early days of digital video editing, an export render could take hours!  Not many applications are as hard on system resources as video editing, and rendering the final edit is probably the most system intense action of all.
Head on over to the Premiere Pro Hardware forum to see what sort of computer hardware the pros use for NLE (non linear editing), or to the PPBM5 site for a better look.

  • Steps to edit standard purchase order layout

    hi.......
    plz tell me
steps to edit standard purchase order layout and printing program............

    Hello,
The Standard Layout Set for Purchase Order is MEDRUCK. However, you need to Copy the Form and Make changes to the Layout.
First of all, you need to identify the Elements of the Layout as to where exactly you need Customer Modifications for your client's requirement.
Then go ahead and make changes to the Copied Version (Not the Standard Layout Set).
Then from NACE the Output Type can be configured for the New Layout Set.
    Hope it was helpful.

  • Low speed when I edit a step when I insert a step, whose edit substep has been specified by a LabVIEW vi.

I created a step type in Teststand and specfied its "edit" substep with a Labview vi. In labVIEW, I can open that vi very quicky, however, every time when I click "Specify Module..."in that step type's property dialog through Type Pallette windows, it will spend some time on searching file, that's also why I have to wait several time when I insert a step and edit it by right click and choose "edit..." in client sequence file.  For better explanation, I attached a picture here.
I don't know how to speed up it.

    Hi,
That would be correct assuming you place your VI's and sub VI's in the same place on your target system as your development system. Otherwise its got to go find them, which suggest that the location of the VI's has changed.

  • Send email if any step fails in Process Chain

I want to send an email if any step in the Process Chain fails.  I know I can add a Message to each step but this is very cumbersome.  I was trying to use the 'OR' collector and link each one of my steps to the 'OR' if it fails.  I can do this for every step but the very last one.  It does not allow me to drag a line from my last step to the 'OR'.  Can someone tell me why?
    Thanks.

    Boater,
I am not able to understand the scenario, but from what I understand you should be able to connect to. Could you explain?

  • TestStand jump to step at edit time

    Hi,
In the File Diff/Merge tool, you can click on a step, and jump to it in the TestStand editor.  Is this a command that I can use myself? I tried looking through the API but I couldn't find something that I thought would work.
I attached an image from the file diff tool to show you what I mean.
So, I'm wondering if its possible to get similar functionality for jumping to a particular step at edit time.
    Thanks!

  • Is there any way to capture a list of the steps in editing a particular photo in a text file?

I have just edited some photos for a friend who was short on time, and now she would like a list of the steps I took in editing.  Is there any way of listing those steps in a text file I could send her?

Not so far as I know, into a text file. The History is not included in the metadata you can write out to XMP, so it cannot be extracted from there.  The History is embedded in a Catalog only.
But it would be possible to Export as Catalog one sample image - or, a group of the images concerned. Your friend could open this very small catalog, and view the full History of what has been done to the selection of images it contains.
Note: the History panel is only available in the Develop module, and you can only get into Develop when the image is not "offline". So your friend would need to get the right picture file(s) referenced into this small Catalog you supply. That can be done by re-browsing the location of the containing folder - so, it is not necessary for the images to be physically  living at the same path in both computers..
More simply, by writing the final metadata out to the file, and sending the file along with its metadata, at least the finished adjustments can be looked at directly. You only need the Catalog with the History in order to see the sequence - and any changes of mind or explorations that have happened along the way.
The sequence in which you set nondestructive adjustments does not technically matter; the Catalog method would mainly be of interest, to see an example of your working approach. The nice part about that, is that your friend could click through the History states and see how the image changes on screen - while also watching the sliders, tone curve etc moving around with each new step.

  • In what order to you perform steps in editing to maximize quality?

I have recently discovered that my photographs are not being saved in 300ppi, suitable for large prints.
I would like to know at what point people are increasing their resolution to accomodate large prints.
If I resize my image first thing each editing step takes FOREVER to process!  Does it make sense to
perform edits THEN resize the image?  What size do you recommend resizing too (inches/resolution)
to ensure good quality of family type portraits?  Help would be VERY VERY VERY appreciated!
    Thanks!

    2592x3888
is one that I am working on now.
I'm getting the ppi information from reading I've done regarding print quality, as well as information from the print house that I use.  They request at least 300ppi.  I realize this does not have an affect on the image generated on the computer monitor, just the physical print.  Correct?

  • Steps for Creating Process chain!

    Hi All,
I want to create process chain which can schedule IP and run the concern job to fill infocubes/ODS?Can someone please guide me stepwise how to proceed. Some sort of doc will eb appreciated.

    Hi,
You can either create a process chain directly in the process chain maintenance screen, or by using a maintenance dialog for a process
Creating a Process Chain Directly in the Process Chain Maintenance Screen
    In the BW Administrator Workbench
      1.      Choose the  Process Chain Maintenance icon from the AWB toolbar.
      2.      Choose Create.
      3.      Enter the technical name and a description of the chain, and confirm your entry.
       4.      Create a variant for a start process.
On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for a chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
In the left-hand area of the screen, a navigation area is displayed. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
           5.      Use Drag&Drop or double-click to add the relevant processes to your process chain.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and  Data Targets navigation trees.
If you insert a process into the chain that is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and automatically inserted into the process chain. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
    a.       On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
    b.       If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for the chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
The Maintain Start Process screen appears again.
    c.       Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
The various process categories, the application processes, and collection processes are displayed in the left-hand area of the screen. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
If the process that you used to create a chain is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and inserted into the process chain automatically. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and   Data Targets navigation trees.
When you add a process, you need to select a process variant or create a new variant. For collection processes, the system uniquely determines the variants.
Various functions for editing the process are available from the context menu
Maintain variants  With the exception of the variants in the collection processes OR and EXOR, you can use this function to change all process variants.
    Exchange variants
You can exchange the variants for an existing variant or a variant that is to be created.
You can use this function to link a process to a successor process. You can choose from the processes that are not yet linked to the current process. They are grouped according to process type in submenus.
          Display scheduled jobs
Once the process chain is active, you can use this function to display the jobs that have been scheduled.
After at least one process chain run, you can display all of the scheduled jobs for a specific process and all of the jobs with which this process was run. The Job Overview appears and you can call the relevant job log.
    Create message
You can also send messages to an application process of the chain, depending on the success or failure of the process.
    1.       To do this, using the context menu for a process, create another process variant of type Send Message.
    2.       If you maintain a message, first specify whether you want the message to be sent when the process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully. Then choose Next.
    3.       A dialog box appears, in which you can select an existing process variant or create a new one.
    4.       If you create a new process variant, edit the document that is going to be sent and maintain a list of recipients.
    5.       Save your process variant and go back.
The message process variant is now assigned to your application process. When the message is sent, the status information and the process log are also sent.
Only use this function to debug a process run.
Specify how long (in seconds) you want the delay to be between one event being triggered and the next process starting.
You can capture the process in the debugger by using transaction SM37 (Job Overview) or SM50 (Process Overview).
    Remove process
You use this function to remove a process from a process chain.
    Manage data target
You use this function to call the data target administration for the following types of process variants:
             Construct index
             Delete index
             Construct database statistics
             Roll up filled aggregates
             Compress InfoCube
             Activate DataStore object data
           7.      Hold down the left mouse button to connect the processes with events.
Before you do this, select the process underneath the process type row, and position the cursor over the required process. When you select the process type row, the whole process is moved into the plan view.
From the context menu of a link, you can display the event or remove the link. To do this, select the link and right-click with the mouse.
           8.      If necessary, specify whether you want the event to be triggered after the previous process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully, or whether you want the event to be triggered independently of the outcome of the process that precedes it. If the process that triggers the event has more than one option, choose the option after which the successor process is to be run
           9.      Assign a display component to the process chain using Attributes
         10.      Maintain additional process chain attributes if necessary.
         11.      Check your process chain in the  Check View and make any necessary corrections.
The  Legend explains the meaning of the different colors used to display the processes and links.
From the context menu for a process, you can display the messages resulting from the check.
During the check, the system calculates the number of parallel processes according to the structure of the chain . The result is compared with the number of background processes on the chosen server (or the total of all available servers if no server is specified in the attributes of the process chain). If the number of parallel processes is greater than the number of available background processes, the system highlights every level of the process chain where the number of processes is too high. The system produces a warning for these levels.
       12.      Save your process chain if it does not contain any errors.
You can activate and schedule your process chain. After scheduling, the chain starts in accordance with the start process selections. For example, if you scheduled the start process directly and chose Immediately as the start date value, the chain run starts immediately after scheduling.  In the  Log View, you can display the reports for the chain runs.

  • Hi Gurus , Please let me steps to transport process chain .

    Hi Gurus ,
Please let me know the steps to transport the process chain , I have created created process chain in DEV for materila master data .  The infopackges I have used in the process chain are already available in PROD  ,used in the process chain. Please let me how collect the objects.
    Regards
    shekar reddy

    Hi Sriram,
It would be really good that you collect everything in your transport request even if the changes are not made then also nothing will happen to your already existing info packages. In case if the changes were made to the selections in the info packages then they will be over written.
You would need to make sure that the info package is not getting executed at the moment of transport.
Also one more point that you would need to remember before transporting you r chain is that you should put the start variant of your chain to future date else sometimes once you transport the chain from development to quality the chain starts to run as soon as it is transported.
Your source system mapping would be totally dependent on the system that you have used in the development for example. suppose you have a Acceptance system name ( *A system for your info package then the mapping should be as *A -> *P( Production system) in the logical system conversion in production system. Also make sure that there is only one entry of your source system in the mapping.
also check the below PDF at SCN link. it would be really helpful for you:
