Stock Valuation Level?

Hi All,
ours is a project based company and we dont have plants as we are not into any type of production.
we have registered offices at 14 states in India. At present stock is valuated for each project and all values will be accumalated and shown in balance sheet.
we have PS also.
in this type of scenario how can we suggest plants in SAP and valuation.
please suggest me.
thanks in advance.
shashi

Dear Shashi,
1) ours is a project based company and we dont have plants as we are not into any type of production.
Ans - It is not necessary that you have to have production to create a plant.
2) At present stock is valuated for each project and all values will be accumalated and shown in balance sheet. -
- How you valuate plant for each project? What organisational structure elment you use to do so?
3) Based on other details, even if you are having PS, you can create plant to valuate the material. You can assign the plant to the project created. I assume that you are buying material for the project. All material movements are happening with respect to the project. If you are having document splitting & want to track project wise profitability & receivable / payable & other balance sheet items, then it is better to create plant and profit center for every single project.
The material valuation should  be at plant level relevant to each project to track better material movement & valuation.

  • Stock valuation down to Storage location level

    Dear all,
System setup for stock valuation is till Plant level. And understand that's how data stored in table MBEW and MBEWH until plant level only.
Eventhough that is system standrd, is that possible to get the stock valuation until Storage location level?
For eg: In MB5B, there is opening stock, closing stock and the material movement posting. I need to get opening and closing stock for each storage location.
Could you please comment if there are tables store these data? Kindly comment.

    Hi Afshad Irani,
Thanks for your reply. Understand from the previous post that stock valuation for storage location can be done via table MARDH or report MC.9, but this tools are excess base on period/month basis.
My case, i need to report storage location stock for both (1)last month 06.2010 and (2)yesterday's stock 06.07.2010. So i can use MARDH table to report (1)last month stock for each storage location. While for (2) yesterday stock, table MARDH isn't help.
    Could you please advice further?

  • Stock valuation at store level

    Hi Experts
I've added the charactaristic 0STOR_LOC to cube 0RT_C36 to have stock cost by store, however, it's not working as expected, totals for any other characteristic (plant, material, month, day .. ) and ratios quantity and stock value are working fine but when I drill down to plant->store the quantities are ok but the stock value is not.
the question is, it's possible to have stock valuation at store level?, i understand that the valuation in R/3 is at plant level not store, but in infosource 2is_03_bf we have 0STORE_LOC, so it makes sense to have a finner grain isn't it?
I compare data from bw with transactions MC.5, with transaction RWBE its not possible have stock value at store level.
    thanks for any help

Thank you for your quick reply
I've checked the link, which is just what I was looking for ...
by the way, do you know where the these how to papers have gone?, I used to get them in
    http://service.sap.com/bi -> service & implementation -> HOW TO ... Guides -> BW 3.x (or something like that)
now there is a list under
    http://service.sap.com/bi -> service & implementation -> HOW TO ... Guides -> Guide List Sap BW 3.5 - part of NW 04
    a list like this appears:
    Cross-Component Technical Scenarios
    Portal, KM and Collaboration
    Web Application Server
    Business Intelligence
    Master Data Management
    Exchange Infrastructure
which is almost empty, so where the howto papers are gone?
    thanks again

  • Reconciliation fo stock report at stock type level

    Hi gurus,
I want to compare the stock quantities in a stock report with ECC when I drill down the report at Stock type level. I have tried to do it through MB5B but I found it not appropriate as the stock type calculation in BW as based on some LIS logic. also I found  it is not always same as in MB5B.
Please suggest me how can I cpmpare the data at stock type in ECC.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
Use 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM to 0IC_C03 Cube and design the report.
    Use :
    0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
    0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
    For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
    For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
    0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
    And
    Drag & drop
    0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
    Reconcile BW Vs ECC MB5B
In ECC goto MB5B and give Material and Plant and Date Range corrctly , select radio button Valuated Stock an dexecute and check teh Opening/Closing Stock for that month.
Once you design your report like above then you can check in ECC in MB5B
    See the steps.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.
    Thanks

  • Valuation Level defined at Company Code for IS Retail

Hi experts, I wanted to know why in SAP IS Retail we cannot define valuation at CC level, is no allowed in customizing. There is no such a proble in standar ERP.
    Thanks.

    I other words:
In SAP Retail out of the box, the valuation area must always correspond to a site. This means that an article could have different Moving Average Price (MAP) in each site (Store/Distribution Center). Our customer uses the same MAP in all the stores/DCs in their legacy system, this means, maintain valuation at company code level.
The big problem comes out when we post a vendor invoice which has a price variance for an article without stock coverage in the store/DC where GR has been posted.  This discrepancy is posted into a u201Cdifference accountu201D
The price variance is calculated with the stock available ONLY in the DC. That situation is not legally acceptable in Argentina, as that price variance should take into account all stock available within ALL the company. Posting those discrepancies to a u201Cdifference accountu201D should only appear if there is a tangible change in stock valuation for the whole company (for example, goods sold or adjusted by an inventory count).
This is a very frequent scenario for our customer since it is settled in commercial agreements with vendors accepting invoices with price variances. Moreover, stock is almost immediately issued from DC to stores, causing logistics invoice verification occurs when stock is away from DC.
    Our customer's requirements are:
    1) Maintain the same MAP in all DCs/ stores
    2) Avoid posting price invoice discrepancies into a u201Cdifference accountu201D when there is still stock available in stores (that means, posting those differences into stock account, affecting MAP)
    Thanks

  • OX14 - Valuation Level Configuration

    Hi Gurus,
Standard SAP by default gives the Valuation Level at Plant. According to our business requirement we have to change the valuation Level to company code. But this change does not generate an automatic transport request. How Do I handle this? What ever I configure in this client has to be transported to rest other clients.

    Define valuation level
You define the valuation level by specifying the level at which material stocks are valuated. You can valuate material stocks at the following levels:
         o  Plant level
Valuation must be at this level in the following cases:
            -  If you want to use the application component Production Planning (PP) or Costing
            -  If your system is a SAP Retail system
         o  Company code level
The decision you make is valid for the whole client. You are recommended setting material valuation at plant level.
    Important
Once set, it is not possible to switch the valuation level from plant to company code, or vice versa. If absolutely necessary to subsequently change the valuation level, contact your SAP consultant because a data conversion is required.
Your choice of valuation level affects the following:
o  Maintenance of material master records
Depending on the valuation level chosen, accounting data (in particular the valuation price) is maintained for each plant or for each company code in the material master record.
o  G/L accounts in which material stocks are managed
            -  If material stocks are valuated at company code level, all plant stocks of a material are managed in a joint stock account for each company code.
            -  If material stocks are valuated at plant level, the material stocks for each plant can be managed in different accounts. You can define a separate account determination for each plant.
If several plants are to use account determination, you can group them together in Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment in the section Account Determination .

  • Valuation Level

    Hello,
I was wondering, when you select company code as valuation area instead of plan level it is supposed to override all plan prices and just take those that the company register.
But which are the effects ?
    For example:
Lets say I purchase a row material for the first time with MAP activated and since company code level is activated no price will be registered ? Which means that I will have to first post the price at t-code MR21 in order for the sistem to recalculate each time there is a price change ?
What happens to Standar price when company code level is activated ?
    Thanks very much.

Once you define your valuation level you cannot change it.

  • Company valuation level

    Dear experts
Is it possible to set valuation by company for IS Retail? Is there new version of IS Retail to support the company valuation level?
    Please advise.
    Hengki

    Hi,
In SAP Retail, the valuation area must always correspond to a site.
In retailing it is common practice to record the retail price of inventory (retail method). Since it is extremely time-consuming to determine all the costs associated with the procurement of an article without the use of modern IT systems, it is all the more difficult to determine the delivered cost of merchandise. In view of this, the delivered cost of an article is usually taken as an average price calculated on the basis of the retail value.
    (a) Valuating inventory at delivered prices (cost inventory method)
You can only apply this method if you can ensure that all changes involving an article can be accurately recorded. What is known in the trade as the u201Ccost inventory methodu201D or the u201Ccost methodu201D involves valuating stocks at delivered prices and assigning costs to individual articles.
    (b) Valuating inventory at retail (retail inventory method)
What is known in the trade as the u201Cretail inventory methodu201D or the u201Cretail methodu201D involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level. Stock is updated at retail for every merchandise category and department. For balance sheet valuation purposes on the balance sheet key date, the delivered cost of the stock is worked out based on a gross margin between cost and retail.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
    Bye and all the best,
    Muralidhara

  • Define Valuation Level (Ref: Q4-8)

    Dear Sirs,
The u201CValuation Levelu201D is defined either at u201CCompany Code Levelu201D or at u201CPlant Levelu201D. If the Client (Group) has more than one Company, must this option be applied for all Companies (Company Codes). For example, is it possible for Company A to select the Valuation Level defined at Company Code Level and Company B to select the Valuation Level defined at Plant Level ?

    Hi Friend,
In SAP R/3 system, there are two possible organizational level at which material is valuated:
    Plant.
When stock is valuated at plant level, we can valuate a material in different plants at different prices. Valuation must be at this level in the following cases:
If we want to use the application component Production Planning (PP) or Costing
If our system is a SAP Retail system
    Company Code.
When stock is valuated at company code level, the valuation price of a material is the same in all of a company's plants (that is, in a company code).
SAP recommends that we set material valuation at Plant level.

We have maintained our valuation level is at Company Code Level. But now as per business need we want to set it at Plant Level .

  • Problem with project stock valuation class

    Dear All,
We have an issue regarding the Revenue Inventory and Capital Inventory. There is a certain balance amount which should be in capital but system is showing in Revenue and vice versa.
The reason for this is that when the material was created, in some materials the main valuation class was 3032(Project) and in some it was maintained as 3030(revenue). But project stock valuation class was not maintained.
Now the problem persists in the G/L balances, the G/L of project stock (132006)displays some amount of revenue(132000) and vice versa.
We tried to maintain the project stock valuation class (3032) for materials for which the main valuation class is 3030 (Revenue),but still the G/L for revenue (132000) is getting hit.
At the end, the requirement is that G/L for revenue (132000) should hit when revenue procurement is there and G/L for capital (132006) should hit when capital procurement is there.
    Kindly suggest the way forward.
    Regards,
    Harsh

Thanks Venkat, we have thought of the same as a last stop but there are hundreds of materials which has this problem and there would be many open documents for them.
If anything could be suggested other then this, and I wanted clarification on one more point that the materials for which main valuation class was 3030 and later we added 3032 in project stk Val class but after maintaining it. When we procure(Capital procurement), it is still showing the balance in G/L 132000(Revenue).

  • Stock Valuation - Inventory Management Cube

    Dear Sap Gurus,
We have implemented the Inventory Management Cube in BW.
Quantities are correct, but we have difference on the stock valuation.
For some material stock value are correct, for some other they are not correct.
A saw a lot of OSS notes and how to on this subject, I am trying to solve this issue using these documents, but based on your experience could you explain me how you solved this issue ????
    Thanks,

    Hi
Did you follow the correct steps?
Initialisation of BX data in the first step.(Loading of Opening Stock)
Then The request in which the opening stock was loaded must always be
    compressed with a marker update
Init load of BF And UM in the second step
The request in which the historical material documents were contained
must always be compressed without a marker update and
Successive delta uploads must always be compressed with marker
    updates
Check this whether you have done this or not.
Because of missing the steps here also would give you wrong values,
    Regards
    Ram

  • Storage location wise project stock valuation

    Hi all,
I am tying to generate a report for storage locationwise project stock valuation. MBBS is giving the data valuation type as well as WBS element wise valuation. That is fine. I want to show the data storage location wise. So, I have taken MSPR table where I am getting data storage location wise. For this stock, i am picking up unit price from QBEW table. My user says there will be cases that the material comes in with different prices in a same financial period. Here I am facing issue when there are two prices for the same material with same Val.area and same WBS element .Pls tell me how can I pick up the correct price.

    Hi,
If stock with different price under 1 plant and 1 WBS Element put into different storage location based on the material price then in table MSPR we can have LGORT (storage location) as indicator there. Otherwise, since valuation type is not implemented, there is no other way you can differentiate stock based on price as you mentioned before.

  • Stock valuation Report problem in crystal

    Hello
I have created Stock Valuation report on crystal & give parameter For Selection 'from Date' To 'To DATE'
I maintain 'On Hand' field for quantity available in between selected period
But Suppose I have Item code 'X01' having actual balnce qty 67 between 1 Jully 2011 To 31 jully 2011 when i run the
report by same date it display 67 qty it right but the Item 'X01' Sold out 5 Qty on date 2 Augst and i again run the report
between date 1 Jully 2011 and 31 jully 2011 it Show 62 qty but upto 31st Jully i have 67 Qty remaining but it show 62 this is wrong
so how i brought 67 qty upto 31 Jully in Crystal Report
In Inventory audit Report it show perfect qty on date selection  but i want right value in my crystal report

    Hi,
The on hand balance is dynamic. You can not get it from any table for historical balance.
You have to create a temporary table to calculate from day one of inventory transaction for the item.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
