Stop adpatch from splitting jobs in row_id ranges

Hello,
I am doing a 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 upgrade and I have a long running SQL aptoltax.sql towards the end of the driver. Adpatch runs this job on all the workers (8 in my instance).
Now these jobs run for 3 hours each. When I observed the sessions from backed, I saw that at any point of time, 7 session would be waiting on Library Cache Mutex X and only one session would do read / write.
Even though oracle would have parallelized this job to improve performance, in my instance it is backfiring. Is there a way to force adpatch run this job only on a single worker and not on all 8 workers?
PS: I did see an oracle note suggesting to patch to move this aptoltax.sql processing outside the patch, but my IT has other views.
Thanks, Jithin

Okay this is what fixed my problem. Some kind of error/glitch occured half-way through importing that third cd that prevented further imports from any other cd. Once I completely removed the half-imported cd album from my library I could further import cd's without any problems.

  • Stop queue from scheduled job

    Hi everybody,
I'm working on a Oracle 11g and I have a Scheduled Job running every 5 minutes.
When it lasts more then 5 minutes, it starts the next execution right after the previous.
Is there a way to prevent this behaviour? For example, if the 9.25 run ends at 9.32, the next run should be at 9.35.
    Thanks,
    best regards

Thanks to all of you for your replies.
I think there is a misunderstanding, my needs are to avoid the slippage, so if a run lasts more then 5 minutes, it has to end naturally without being aborted, and the next will be skipped.
If your solutions already answer my question, please forgive me and my bad reading.
I add the code of my scheduled job:

  • Neighbors keep stealing my internet and resetting permissions - I know they are running Lion and I can't seem to stop them from resetting the wifi and firewall options in Maverick. It's killing my internet and driving me nuts.

Hi - I thougth I was crazy but after a full reinstall of Mavericks and I can still see the utility repair fixing problems I know my neighbors are stealing in internet and using it. They keep finding different ways to do it - the only way I know they are doing it is because when I login to the terminal it no longer uses my HD name but some long server looking name. I turned off my wifi and plugged it in directly. This time, after the reset, they modified my firewall permission and reset some ruby framework. I want to know how to stop this from happening. Please help.

More importantly, or at least as important, you must assign a strong password to your router's login. Service providers of DSL and cable have finally wised up and their routers now come with a preassigned and difficult to guess admin password, but not all. Right now, I'm certain it's at a default. Check the manual for your router, but it's probably something like:
    Admin: admin
    Password:
Sometimes it's the other way around. The admin name is blank, and the password is simply "admin".
Do this. From Safari, type this into the URL/search field at the top:
    192.168.0.1
and press Enter. If the defaults are as simple as what I've shown here, that's how they keep getting back in so easily. All anyone has to do is be in range of your wireless signal, type in this same IP address and get into your router settings by using these uselessly easy to bypass admin name and password settings.
Once into your router's settings, they can see what you've changed the wireless login password to, and just login again. What you need to do more than anything is keep them out of your router's settings.
Go into the router's settings as I described using 192.168.0.1 in Safari. Find the wireless settings and turn all wireless off so no one is getting a signal. This will keep them out while you change things.
    1) Change the router's wireless security to WPA2.
    2) Change the wireless password to a new, hard to guess password as steve359 showed. Long, random, obnoxious passwords are best. At least 16 characters long.
    3) Now, go to the admin login page and give the login password an equally long and difficult password. Remember to do all of this with wireless broadcasting OFF, or they will be able to watch everything you're doing.
    4) Now turn wireless access back on. They will no longer able to login to your router to see your wireless access password. Not unless they manage to guess a very hard long and difficult password.
Make sure to write these passwords down so you can get back into the router without manually resetting it.

Verizon is using the Elipsis tablets to steal data from their customers.  The only way to stop data from registering as cellular data is to pull the SIM card.  This occurs with wifi enabled and cellular, dara disabled.  If,you take your tablet to a Verizonstore they will upgrade your data plan to cover the overage and credit the upgrade.  You will then have to remember to downgrade your plan or continue to pay for more data.  Verizon, how would you feel if I walked into one of your stores and started filling my pockets with merchandise?  If cought can I just give the product back and say "oops, sorry"

Today, my FCC complaint hit the same person working on the BBB complaint.  Jimmie has been very nice and seems willing to work with this problem.  We have been able to come to an agreement.  I paid the purchase price for the phone and he returned my upgrade and unlimited data plan.  This is what would have occurred if Verizon had given me correct information to begin with.  I am happy with this result.  He also brought quite a few instances concerning the handling of my transfer and upgrade that did not follow proper procedure.  I am also confident that I would not have resolved this without complaining to BBB and or FCC.  Verizon had no interest in solving the problem nor did they show any propensity to keeping a 20 year client.  Even though this last CSR was very polite and helpful, his sole job is to respond to formal Federal and State complaints.  He is required by law to address every complaint and report the reporting agency the agreed upon results - good or bad.  Again, I suggest - If you are not getting the proper customer service, complain to someone outside of Verizon.  Jimmie had not received any complaints registered with Verizon directly and I still have not had any contact with any other management representative that I was told would call.

I am creating a common invoice for two sales orders but due to different header data of sales order, two different invoices are created.
But my requirement is that even if the header data of sales order is different, i should able to get only single invoice.
Please update me what should be done to stop the invoice from splitting.....
    Thanks,

This is not possible in Std SAP.
Header data is the important aspect of the order, you can mix different heraders and generate the Invoice.

how do i stop google from tracking me and storing their cookies?
Running OSX 10.7.5 & Safari v6.02 on Macbook Air.?

In practicality you can't. You can set the preference in the Privacy pane of the Safari preferences to ask websites not to track you, but I don't believe Google honors that setting, and they most certainly store all sorts of cookies which you probably will get even if you set Safari to block all cookies since web programmers have ways around those blocks. All you can do is delete the cookies and other junk on a regular basis. Many cookies hide, so I use Cookie from SweetP productions which does a good job of deleting most if not all of the cruft web sites leave.

  • Stopping Workflow from backend?

Hi is there a way to stop the workflow from running?
So that all workflow processes are halted.
Which job, process, etc would I have to stop, delete, etc in the DB? And how to start it again?
    Thanks
    Remy

    Remi,
There are no seperate processes to monitor. The database itself is the main process.
The workflow processes are initiated and resumed using API's. If there are no such API's being invoked, you are essentially not processing any workflow. However, workflow does use the background engine to process deferred processes. These could be submitted as dbms_jobs. So, you want to stop these processes to stop workflows from progressing forward.
If you want a particular process from not getting processed, you can stop them by using the API's (wf_engine.abortprocess).
    Hope this helps,
    Raja

  • Split field values into range

    Hi,
I have a 'Company Code' field in an input file that can contain 1 or multiple company codes, separated by comma (,). e.g it could be anything from '1105' to '1105,3000,2000,2200' etc up to about a max of 20 company codes.
    I don't think it's efficient or good programming to do the following;
        SPLIT l_bukrs_string AT ';' INTO
    l_bukrs1
    l_bukrs2
    l_bukrs3
    l_bukrs4
    l_bukrs5
    l_bukrs6.
etc etc up to the maximum (I would be declaring up to 20 more fields).
The ideal would be if I can get the list of company codes (from the field), into a range. So as per my example above, I would left with a range R_BUKRS that contains the single values 1105,3000,2000,2200. I can then loop at this range later on and do the rest of my company code specific processing.
And ideas - possible use of field symbols? Thanks alot

    Hi
You can use same slit statement to store data in internal table.
My idea is to slit the file into internal table and use this internal table like for all entries in or like select-options.
    SPLIT text_flie AT ',' into table IT_BUKRS.
select * from dbtable for all entries in it_BUKRS
      condn
Hi Shrini you I posted on the same time, I did not copied, sorry

I received a link to fill out a document on this site through email. However, when I click the link, it just directs me to my FormsCentral homepage and there are no documents for me to fill out. How do I find this document or stop myself from just being redirected to my homepage?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Stopping phone from contacting vodafone while usin...

    Hi,
I've had an E71 for a few weeks but there's a few things things  bugging me.  I don't really need to access the internet with it, but I've tried when close to a free WiFi area.
A few times, it's lost the connection and each time, I've been charged a lot by vodafone for just a few seconds of data transfer.   No idea why this is.
Can I set the phone so it doesn't access the internet via vodafone without asking me?
Also, can I download maps for a country or area free of charge so I can find out where I am without having to download the maps there and then?
    Many thanks,
    Steve

I had this problem with o2 WAP connections too - every split second it tried to connect by o2 WAP and I interrupted it, I got charged for a whole minute by o2. o2's customer support was really nice and understanding about it. They also recommended turning off the GPRS capability in the SIM card to prevent the phone from randomly trying to connect via WAP. This doesn't affect the WLAN/WiFi access apparently, but it does stop me from being able to send MMS or synch with the O2 Communication Center. I'm not sure if it's an equivalent/alternative solution to yours - it was easy, but then maybe it's too limiting???

  • Stopping video from syncing with iTunes

A frequently asked question is: How do I stop video content from being synced from my Apple TV to my iTunes? As soon as someone asks that, some frequent posters respond: Why in the world would you want to do that? Your video won’t be backed up, etc. etc. (And by the way, you can't stop it from syncing.) Here’s why we want to do that:
A large number of Apple TV users download their video content directly to the Apple TV from the iTunes Store – Jobs announced that feature last winter, and Apple prominently markets it. Many of us don’t want to keep that video permanently, since it’s either rented movies or TV episodes we’ll never watch again. So we have no need to backup that content to our iTunes.
But if we also have music and photos to watch on the Apple TV, there aren’t any good options:
    * Stream music and photos to the Apple TV: Photos are slow to stream, and often I have my laptop with iTunes out of the house when my wife wants to watch or listen. (We have a wireless g network with typical average transfer speeds of 8 – 10 Mbs, so streaming a 5 MB high-resolution photo from a 12 MP camera takes 3 – 5 seconds seconds, which is an eternity when you’re looking at family snapshots.)
    * Sync video, music, and photos with iTunes: The videos hog space on the laptop’s hard drive, and more importantly, syncing hogs network bandwidth for 10 – 30 minutes for each TV episode (longer for movies). The video can be stored on an external drive, but that’s extra money and an annoying hassle to keep iTunes video on the external drive and music and photos on the internal drive (so they can travel with the laptop).
So here’s what I end up doing: When I start iTunes, if it starts syncing video with the Apple TV, I immediately cancel it. Usually, we’ll watch and delete that video from the Apple TV soon enough. But occasionally there’s a movie or TV episode on the Apple TV we haven’t watched yet, and I want to sync new photos or music with the Apple TV immediately. So I’m forced to wait for the video to sync with my iTunes before it will sync the photos (despite selecting the option “Sync photos before other media”). At that point, I have to remember to delete the video from my iTunes, but only after we watch it (Apple TV won’t let you delete a synced video). (Yes, I know I can go into Windows Explorer and delete the actual file and delete the dangling link from iTunes later, but that’s even more annoyance.)
This is all pretty clumsy for a consumer product. It would be trivial for Apple to add an option to iTunes that would prevent video from being synced to iTunes, and it would better support a very common use-case.

While holding down the Command + Option keys and connect your iPod. Wait until the iPod appears in iTunes before you let go of the keys. This will stop the iPod from doing an auto sync.
Once in iTunes you will have to restore your iPod by clicking on the Restore button. Once restored you will then have to sync your content back onto the iPod.

  • HT1043 My midi controller sends message thru mainsage to rewired Reason. How can I stop Mainstage from automatically sending volume control and other messages to Reason?

I have assigned the volume control on my Yamaha midi keyboard to a screen control in Mainstage to do a different function. But it simultaneous does my assigned job as well as controlling volumes of instruments in rewired Reason. How can I stop that from happening. I don't want any of my knobs to control Reason. I use touchOSC on my iPhone as a mixer. It also send all soughts of undesirable faders and knob massages through Mainstage to reason. I must point out that, I have disengaged keyboad control in reason preferences.
Every knob on any controller which is sending CC07 message to mainstage automatically controls instrument volume in Reason. Some other CC messages are also sent automatically. How can I stop that from happening?
    Thanks in advance.

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    /Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.
