Stop the audio in a widget via button?

I have a slide that contains the timeline widget. I've setup the slide to pause the audio when the widget appears so the user can then click on the timeline events. Each event has an audio clip assigned to it that corresponds to text that appears in the widget.
To resume the slide I have a button setup but I would like the button to stop the audio playing in the timeline widget if it hasn't ended yet when it's clicked. Otherwise the timeline widget audio will be playing at the same time as the audio for the slide.

DId you try out the work flow, or do you have more questions? I answered this pretty late from my phone, perhaps not very detailed.
The Play audio command can play only one audio clip at the same time. If you repeat that command with another clip, the first clip will be automatically stopped, no need to use the 'Stop Triggered Audio' in that case.
Audio can also be attached to objects, and then the rule is that audio plays when object appears (whether timed or by an action) and stops when object disappears.

  • Can you redirect the audio output of iTunes via Apple TV?

    I currently have iTunes running on Windows XP with an Airport Express connected to my home stereo. I toggle the iTunes audio between my PC and the Airport Express via the iTunes speaker setting. With Apple TV, will I be able to toggle the audio output from the Apple TV interface?
    Thanks,
    Chaaad

    No, you can use AppleTV like an Express to have audio playing in iTunes relayed to it, but you can't play something on AppleTV and direct the output to the Express.

  • Why does laptop stop the audio for a few seconds when I play a video then resume for the video?

    Hi I have a HP Pavilion G6 2288-ca with amd a10 vision processor. So I was playing some videos from youtube and the audio stoped and resumed a few seconds after.

    Flash is required for YouTube content.
    Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
    Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
    From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
    Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Now try a video.

  • Having stopped audio with a swf inside a sidelet can someone create a swf that will resume the audio

    Ok, rick is going to post the fla of this file and I will
    post the swf. Basically this is all about having a slide that has
    audio running all the way through and enabling the user to roll
    over a sidelet and have the video and audio stop playback.
    At present, the max you can achieve is, to stop video. The
    audio keeps going and of course everything gets out of
    sync. Rick has create a swf that you input into a sidelet (
    after having imported your image or video ) which stops the audio.
    Fantasitc. Unfortunatly he was not successful in creating a swf
    that will resume the audio.
    So there is the mission. To create something that will resume
    the audio, be it a swf inside the sidelet or something else.

    Hi there paul. Am I right in thinking that your code will
    mute the audio. In my situation this would cause problems becasue
    you would roll over the sidelet - the audio would go silent and
    when you rolled off, or resumed the audio, it would have been
    playing so again the video and audio will be out of sync.
    Rick - rather than another swf which would activate the audio
    and video when you roll off the sidelet ( while that is the perfect
    solution ) what about looking at a button the user can press to
    resume things, maybe Im wrong but that sounds a little easier.
    ( however for all those reading this that is not really the
    solution I am looking for, what Im looking for is the above
    solution where you can just roll off and on and so on )

  • My iPhone automatically changes the audio level to max/zero

    Hi all. I have a problem with my iPhone audio level. When I'm listening to music with my head phones on, my iPhone sometimes changes the audio level max or zero all by itself.  When I try to decrease/increase the sound, it continues to increase/decrease until sound reaches to the max/zero. Restarting the iPhone stops the audio level change. But this does not solve problem once and for all. It happens time to time, but it is becoming somewhat irritating.
    Anyone have a solution for this? I've checked the internet, but couldn't find anyone have this problem. I guess I'm the only one who has this problem. Thanks in advance.
    BTW, my iPhone is 6 plus & its iOS version is 8.1.3 (12B446). Although I has been happening since I bought it in December

    I wanted to update this post. I realised a something new with the issue and found a way that I can temporarily solve it without restarting the iPhone. Right before it happens, an orange blinking light appears on the empty (white) side of the sound level at the music player. I marked that area on the photo below, although I couldn't managed to capture that orange blinking light. If I change the sound level via buttons, sound goes to max or min (depending on my button choice). Unplugging and re-plugging headphones don't affect this. After re-plugging, blinking continues. But if I unplug my headphone, then close the music player from double tapping the home button & restarting the music player, turns it it to normal. Even my sound level stays the same, at the level I configured before this issue starts happening.
    A remainder, this issue only happens after I start listening to music with my headphones. Same thing with speaker never happened. I hope this message make you all understand my issue better. I also hope that there is a solution

  • How do you stop the flash player when you change pages on a web site

    Hi all;
    I'm building a website in flash using my limited understanding of action script.  Everything was progressing very well until I found that if I go to one of my example pages of my web site and play the flash video (with audio) and click back to my "home" button, the audio will continue to play.  If I go back to the example page, the video is off and when I start the video, it plays again with the other audio.  I hear the audio twice! I know there is an action script to handle this but, I can't figure it out.
    My question is, How do I stop the audio when I click away from the example page back to the home page or any other page?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    I'm usinf Flash CS4 and a Mac OS operating system.

    The problem is most likely in your Action Script. Therefore this question should be posted in the Action Script forum. This forum only deals with the Flash Player, which, in this case is running the script as it is written, and therefore, working properly.

  • Can't stop the music when I leave the page.

    Hi all;
    I keep posting in the wrong area.  Sorry.  I did this post in AC2 and the answers didn't look right.  So, here I am again.

    I'm using Flash CS4 and a Mac OS operating system.
    Did I mention that I'm not very good with action scrupt but, I'm so close to finishing this web site.

    assign your component an instance name (if it doesn't already have one), eg flv and in the frame that contains that component add:
    flv.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE,removedF);
    function removedF(e:Event):void{
    flv.stop();

  • I pause my video and the audio continues...if I play again it causes a major headache. Help?

    This might be an easy to answer question, but I am making my second video, so I'm not too knowledgeable. Anyway, I imported audio into my video and it plays back fine. So I play the video, and pause it to try and synchronize the audio. The video stops, but the audio keeps playing, and it will not stop until the whole thing has played. If I try to start from the beginning again and play the audio to sort of override it, it just overlaps with the original audio, and the resulting noise gives me a headache. I don't know if somehow I can stop the audio a portion of the way through, but if I can, that would be great. It would make syncing a whole lot easier. Thanks!

    Ok, so I had a .m4a file on my computer, which I then turned into an mp3 using the adobe media encoder. I imported the mp3 using File-Import-Import to Library, and then I created a separate layer for the file and dragged the audio from the library onto the stage while I was on that layer. The layer now had a sound file on it, and I put a keyframe a ways ahead on the timeline so I could see the audio layer. I then played it back using the play button underneath the timeline to begin syncing my animation with the audio that I had imported. I stopped it, a little late as it turned out, but the music continued to play. It would not stop until it had gone through the whole song. While the song was playing I tried starting it from the beginning again, but the new sequence overlapped with the old one so they played together out of time, creating a very unpleasant noise. They both had to finish before I could play it back again to try and sync my animations more precisely. If I could pause the video (again, I'm using that little button at the bottom left of the timeline) and stop the audio, syncing would be so much easier, and I assumed there was a way to fix this. I am working with Flash Professional CS5.5. Thanks for your consideration!

  • What is the best way to limit the audio from going over the -11 volume?

    What is command or the tools in the menu list that gives you the option to limit the volume in the audio tracks so they don't go past the -11?
    In Sound Track Pro you can "normalize" the volume but this also affects the volume levels of the softer passages too. We only need to stop the audio from going past the -11 decibel.
    Thank you,
    <Edited by: Host>

    Apply the Compressor/Limiter filter. Once you have it set up for one audio clip, you can use the Paste Attributes command to apply it to others.
    BTW, don't post your email and phone number in your messages. The forums are accessible to anyone and searchable via Google. It also leaves you at the mercy of spammers. I have asked a moderator to remove them.

  • Stop video audio when jumping to another label?

    Hey there I have a video with audio (showing within a "videoHolder" object) at one label, but when I click a back button to go back to the main menu at another label, the video disappears but the audio still plays.
    ie the video label is...
    var vid = sym.$("videoHolder");
         vid.html("<video width='600' height='400' controls= 'controls' preload='auto' autoplay='autoplay' poster='video/medicationAlliance.jpg'>" +
    "<source src='video/medicationAlliance.mp4' type='video/mp4' />" +
    "<source src='video/medicationAlliance.webm' type='video/webm' />" +
    "<source src='video/medicationAlliance.ogg' type='video/ogg' />" +
    "</video>");
    whilst the main menu is...
    sym.stop();
    Is there anyway to stop the audio playing at the main menu?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm having a similar issue...
    a bit of newbee as well..
    i have poster... when you click on it... go to another part of the timeline... The video in the videoholder loads up. I have an action script....this works great...
    // sym.$("name") resolves an Edge Animate element name to a DOM
    // element that can be used with jQuery
    var element = sym.$("stealin2");
    element.html('<video width="715" height="382" \
    src="http://www.richardburnschannel.com/storage/stealinmovieLarge.mov" \
    type="video/mp4" controls="controls" \
    ></video>');
    above the videoholder, I created a graphic box with an x for stopping the video.
    I create a trigger so the when you click on the X the action goes back start location where the videoholder is gone. Thus, back to the poster.  However, the video continues to play.  Here's the trigger i use, which works to get rid of the videoholder but not stopping the audio in the video.
    // play the timeline from the given position (ms or label)
    sym.play("start");
    I've tried a bunch of these solition but no luck..

  • Getting a video to stop playing when user clicks on another button to navigate

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a little website in flash.. I have some video that plays automatically once the user goes to that section (I am using frame labels to navigate from section to section of the site).
    But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?
    thanks
    babs

    All's you should need, if the video starts playing on its own, is...
    function clickSection(evtObj:MouseEvent) {
         if (this.currentLabel == "about") {
              about_mc.vid_mc.gotoAndStop(1);
         gotoAndStop(evtObj.target.name);
    If the video needs to be kick started because it was sent back to stop at frame 1 due to a previous navigation, then place that kick start in the about frame itself... about_mc.vid_mc.play();
    If that's not working, be sure to check that your instance names are assigned.  Also, I have been assuming that the video is embedded into the timeline of the movieclip, so if that's not the case, then some other solution may be needed.

  • How to Stop The Process of oRecordSet.DoQuery()

    Hi all..
    I would like to ask 1 question.
    When program is executing the query passed as a parameter to oRecordSet.DoQuery(), is there any way we can stop the process by clicking on cancel button or other events?
    thx.
    regards'
    erwine

    Hi all..
    thx for your quick replies.
    Coz currently im doing SDK module which requires to process alot of data..and the process of inserting and updating to DB is kinda complicated. So basically, i use transaction to start and when i encounter error, i will rollback.
    Let's say if client run the program and suddenly realized that he/she gives wrong input and wants to cancel the whole process.What can i do? Client may say that button 'Cancel' is actually quite confusing because cancel is self-explanatory term to cancel process, but in SAP BO, it's actually to quit the form.
    I once thought of using thread, however, the event to trigger thread to stop will have to wait until the process done. so it's quite complicated

  • How to delay the audio to lip sync? (of the entire system)

    I`m using a LED 32" LG screen via hdmi, but the audio is outputing directly via usb to my Mbox Mini, and the image have a small delay (5 frames) but the audio not, so the result is out of sync videos.
    Of course there`s tons of apps that can solve the problem by compensating, like VLC and MPlayer X, but the problem is that i`m a video editor and use FCP and Motion all the time. For playbacking with these apps (after making the 5 frames compensation) turns into a perfect results, but during video editing it`s a pain to lip sync.
    Of course as i know that the delay is 5 frames, when i output i could delay the entire audio, but it would be a pain making this everytime and for internet streaming the videos would still off sync.
    There`s anyway i can delay the audio of the entire system?
    PS: I`m using Lion 10.7,

    If you want other activity to take place, you could use a
    timeout object:
    dialogue = window().new("D_XML_Test (Greek2)")
    dialogue.filename = "path to file"
    t = timeout().new("mOpenWindow", 60000, #mOpenWindow,
    dialogue)
    -- #movie script:
    on mOpenWindow aWindow, aTimeout
    if ilk(aTimeout, #timeout) then aTimeout.forget()
    if ilk(aWindow, #window) then aWindow.open()
    end
    If you don't mind locking out activity, you could use the
    delay()
    function, but I wouldn't recommend that approach
