Stop tree refreshing page

I have implemented the AJAX tree, but now want to stop the clicking of a node refreshing my page. I have created an iframe region on the page that I want to refresh when a node is clicked by I dont want the tree to refresh itself. I think my problem is due to the code below (taken from the AJAX tree package), but I'm not sure on how to fix the problem.

Either you submit or you dont submit, there is nothing in between.
If you submit then you wll need to make all fields get filled in after the submit if you dont want to loose the info.This can be very easily done if you use MVC framewroks like Struts and JSF
Another option is to submit to a hidden frame or hidden iframe and have some javascript process the data that gets send back on request. This result in your page staying the same but with the possibility to have values changed

I actually already knew about the "delete Intellisync folder" fix because Blackberry phone support had given me that as a final thing to try, if downloading and installing the latest DM 4.7 didn't work. After deleting Intellisync, I would be fine for one sync, maybe two, then I'd be back to errors that kept me from completing a sync.
That was a real pain, because I had to keep reconfiguring my sync every couple days. Also, in doing this, I sometimes forgot to remove the Task relationship for Start Date between the device and Outlook, which creates another problem -- Tasks would suddenly get weird dates for decades in the past/future after my sync. This "delete Start Date relationship in Config/Tasks/Advanced" fix does work, BTW, in case anyone reading this thread ever has that problem.
For me, the final fix (hopefully) was that I had a couple of Outlook meeting dates where the creator of the meeting had change just one instance of that meeting and all users' calendars were updated. I realized that the same couple meetings kept reappearing for me to reject/accept during sync, so I went to my calendar and deleted those meetings' series, replacing them with a new, "clean" recurring meeting from the current time forward. That finally (and again, hopefully) got my sync running more consistently.

How can I stop auto refreshing a new web page in XP immediately after its opened?

In XP, once I access a new web page Firefox auto refreshes that page once the page is ~80-90% opened - how can i stop this refresh?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

Tree expand/contract refreshes page

Hi I'm using APEX version 3.1. I have a question regarding a tree. When I expand or contract the tree, the page will refresh. When that happens all my fields which
contain freshly entered data will lose that data.
Is there a simple method to avoid this kind behavior? I can think of a java script which builds the url but I'm hoping for something less complex.

Instead of reloading the page, try submitting it (and not clearing its cache). That should save the item values.

now, while displaying the form generate some random number, or take the current time in millis or whatever. Put that number in a hidden field. Insert that unique number along with the real data into the database, but before you do check if the number already exists. If it does you can be pretty sure this is a resubmit of the same data, so don't allow it. This is one way of many to prevent resubmission of existing data.
A good way to prevent a refresh from resubmitting altogether is to do a redirect to a result page right after you deal with the POST request. When the user presses refresh then, he/she will refresh the redirect and not the form submit.

You (or your kids) inadvertently installed adware. You do not need to download or install anything to fix it.

If you require them, Apple's removal instructions are linked in the Recovery Procedure near the end of that document. Read and follow them carefully. Pay particular attention to the easily overlooked passages directing you to restart your Mac when required.

Frank answered that he doesn't notice that behavior. I found out that this happens if an appication uses a custom skin.
In SRDemoSampleADFBC, SRManage.jspx (Management from menu), if you make the explorer window small enough not to cover the whole tree, you can notice this (the page jumps to the top).
Now if you change in adf-faces-config.xml the "skin-family" tag to "oracle", you will see that the tree component has changed (it has no triangle icons why this happens) and the page doesn't refresh.

It seems that there's more to the tree expansion icon than the skin definition. We're using the minimal skin and ADF puts out a special character to represent the disclosure symbol (which by the way, renders differently on IE6, than IE7, than Safari or Firefox on Mac). However, switching to the Oracle skin, the disclosure symbol comes out as a full-on image (triangle including the +). We have found this frustrating because the triangles seem not sufficiently suggestive to our users - but switching to the Oracle skin has other issues with white-on-white text.
But in any case, the tree refresh after node expansion is another annoyance as I described in the other thread linked here (including URL to see problem in action).

How do you stop automatic refreshing

How can I stop Firefox from constantly refreshing pages. It is driving me mad when reading newspapers etc. online that the pages are refreshing every 1 - 2 minutes. There use to be a fix which worked but of course with all the unwanted upgrades that stopped working a few unwanted upgrades ago.

How to handle stop and refresh button.

i have two JSP pages. in the frist page the user has the option to either view previous ones or create a new. in both cases i pass a form id as parameter to execute the related data. in the second page , when user fills the data and clicks submit, and clicks the stop or refresh or any other button before the data gets committed and reaches the confirmation page, how do i handle it? when user clicks one of these buttons , the controller class executes again (the process request is again executed).but this time there are no parameters sent to the controller. how do i handle this? also when user clicks the back i have redirected to dialog page. but there are back,forward refresh buttons for the dialog page. if user clicks those, again there are no parameters sent to the controller class.
how do i handle this.

1. Back button - Read the devguide and make the application/page bworser backbutton safe
2. Refresh/Stop Buttons - either use js to restrict these, or embed logic in the code to stop undesirable behaviour.

I cannot refresh pages in firefox anymore since i updated to firefox 4.0

I cannot refresh pages. Not when I opened a file, nor when i have open a webpage.
When i want to refresh a file, i have to reopen it again.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. Stopping auto refresh on iphone

i've got an iphone 3G white,
i like to read news stories or photography tips on my iphone (using the web browser) and when i stop in the middle of a story either because of a phone call or break is over i just leave the story/tip up on its own page because i want to come back to it...
when i do get back to the story/tip, i select the page i want but then the page refreshes when i select it, grrrrrrr!!!! now i have to wait because im now in EDGE coverage :P :P :P
is there any way to stop that refresh action when selecting an old webpage???

but on nytimes, macrumors, and maclife, they all refreshed the instant i touched each one
i even went to just two safari pages and closed one so that the only page left would come up automatically and the remaining page still refreshed
what is your secret??
and with some testing with a 3GS, this problem seems to be much less/non-existent
note on the 3GS- i didn't activate airplane mode either, it keeps the pages, hmmm
3G- pages refresh the instant i go back to it
3GS- keeps the page until you refresh it (even if going back to it more than once)

Can I make Safari stop auto-refreshing?

When I use Safari on my iPad, I sometimes find that when I change the tab I'm viewing, it sometimes automatically refreshes the page. I don't see any pattern, it just seems to be random. It can get annoying at times, like when I'm typing things in, and having to use more than one tab, for example, research, etc. So anyways, is there a way to make it stop automatically refreshing?

Drudgereport includes JavaScript code that refreshes the page. You could disable JavaScript for the drudgereport site, that will stop it from refreshing. You can do that by installing the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/4922/ YesScript] extension which allows you to block JavaScript on sites that you specify.
