Stoping an Instance without Error

Question

Hi there,
I Have a large process that can be stoped in several places winthin, according to the responses from sub-processes that he calls.
I was looking for a way to close the instance without "terminating" it so we avoid the "redness" in the bpel console when a process is to be stop by business logic.
I thought a found a way using java to get the instance handler and then "canceling" that instance. it works fine. the instance is closed and the instance stays "green" in the console and it apears in the "audit": "
[2006/09/05 14:55:16] BPEL process instance "119344" cancelled ".
althougth this apparantly works, the process stays in executing, still calling other sub processes that are after this phase in the process.

looking into the doc,
cancell => "When an activity is cancelled, the performer of the activity is notified of the cancellation and is given an opportunity to rollback or cancel any work that has already been done on behalf of the activity. Since this clean-up procedure can take an indeterminate amount of time, cancelling an instance may not be instaneous and could result in new activities being activated."
Nutshell: could take fairly long 'til something happens
abort => "Aborts the instance. Aborting an instance differs from cancelling one; the latter informs the performers of any active activities that the activity is being cancelled and allows the performer to clean-up or rollback the any changes made. Aborting an instance will simply mark the activities as having been aborted without the chance for clean-up. This method is included for administrative purposes only."
so you might want to use abort ..
