Store image in NoObject table

Hi guys, what's the recommendation to store an image in a NoObject table?, i have created an UDF of Image and another UDF like Link, and both crash Sap B1 when i double click and set a picture.
Am i doing something bad?
Gabriel

Hi guys, the path was ok, and the temp folder was cleaned but still persists the problem,
I tested this in 2007 PL44 and it works just perfect, so i have 2 clients that will need the development and one of them is in 2005 but they want to migrate to 2007 so, i'll notify them that they will have their development once they upgrade.
I'll keep trying anyway in another server and another BD because it's strange this, but right now i'll be pointing to 2007
Thank you all for your ideas.
Gabriel

  • Store Image on table ??

    Hi,
    I would like to know which way is much better on handling the image store.
    1. Store image on the table OR
    2. Store the links on the table OR
    3. any new way..
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Depends on your requirement.
    Just remember, if you store images in database, your database size will grow faster and it may affect your backup and restore time.
    Storing images in table guarantees that image would be available, if your sys admin can asure you that files will always be available and path will not be changed, you may consider links as well.

  • How to store an image in oracle table

    hi
    i have created table,in that i want to store an imege(it may be any form of image like jpeg,bmp and so)
    i need coding for that in sql

    depends where are your images and how you will store it.
    you need some front end application to read the images and store it in the tables.
    eg Oracle Forms (READ_IMAGE_FILE), Java.
    if not place the images on the databas server.
    create directory objects for the path on which the images are there.
    use DBMS_LOB to read the files and save to the database tables.

  • Can we use BLOB fields (that store images) in Crystal Report ?

    I'm developing with ASP.NET, VS.NET 2003.
    Using Crystal Report for VS.NET
    DataBase: Oracle 10g
    I store a BLOB field in a table. This field store images, like jpg files.
    The Stored Procedure that I use to fill the report is:
    OPEN MyCursor FOR
    SELECT MyId , MyImg
    FROM MyTable
    MyImg is BLOB field
    However, when I try to use the stored procedure in Crystal Report at design mode, any field can be displayed and then drag and drop to the report, but MyImg is not possible.
    There is an error message:
    Details: ADO Error Code: 0x80004005
    Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle
    Description: Data type is not supported
    I'm afraid that is not so easy for me to change DB connector drivers.
    My question is:
    - Is it possible to use BLOB fields in Cyrstal Reports?
    - Or should I convert them previously to something, so they can be displayed in Crystal Report at desing mode ?
    - If I should change DB connector drivers, which one should I use and from where should I download it and then install it in my Web Server?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
    I dont know much at all about CR, but I do know Microsoft's OLEDB Provider for Oracle doesnt support Blob datatype.. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q244661/
    Oracle's OLEDB provider does though, you can get it as part of the ODAC download on OTN.
    Hope that helps,

  • Displaying image from database table.

    Hi All,
       I am very new to Web Dynpro ABAP.
      I am developing an application to display an image in "Image" UI Element.
      For this I have one table consisting of fields image id, image data and image name. here image id is primary key field.
    Now i want to display an image from that table in "Image" UI Element. For this i am using "Filedown load" UI element.
    But by using filedownload ui element i can diaplay image in another new page.
    But my requirement is to display image in the same web page without creating a new one.
    (I want to display the image in "Image" UI element without storing that image in MIME objects.)
    Can anyone help me.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Regards,
    Sreelakshmi.

    What you describe is completely possible.  Since you have the image data (XSTRING) in the context you have everything you need.  You don't need to store the content into the MIME Repository, but you do need to get it somewhere where it has an externally accessible URL.  Remember you need to supply image UI element with a URL.  This URL is processed on the client side by the web browser.  Therefore just giving it a path to the context won't work as that isn't externally accessible.
    I would suggest instead that you place the image content into the ICM cache temporarily.  This lets you basically generate a temporary URL for the image that can be used by the Image UI element.
    Here is some example code that pushes images into the ICM Cache:
    ****Create the cached response object that we will insert our content into
      DATA: cached_response TYPE REF TO if_http_response.
      CREATE OBJECT cached_response
        TYPE
          cl_http_response
        EXPORTING
          add_c_msg        = 1.
       try. " ignore, if compression can not be switched on
          call method cached_response->set_compression
            exporting
              options = cached_response->co_compress_based_on_mime_type
            exceptions
              others  = 1.
        catch cx_root.
      endtry.
    ****set the data and the headers
      DATA: l_app_type TYPE string.
      DATA: l_xstring TYPE xstring.
          cached_response->set_data( me->gx_content ).
          l_app_type = me->gx_mimetype
      cached_response->set_header_field( name  = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
                                         value = l_app_type ).
    ****Set the Response Status
      cached_response->set_status( code = 200 reason = 'OK' ).
    ****Set the Cache Timeout - 60 seconds - we only need this in the cache
    ****long enough to build the page and allow the Image on the Client to request it.
      cached_response->server_cache_expire_rel( expires_rel = I_CACHE_TIMEOUT ).
    ****Create a unique URL for the object
      DATA: guid TYPE guid_32.
      CALL FUNCTION 'GUID_CREATE'
        IMPORTING
          ev_guid_32 = guid.
      CONCATENATE i_path '/' guid '.' i_format INTO r_url.
    ****Cache the URL
      cl_http_server=>server_cache_upload( url      = r_url
                                           response = cached_response ).

  • How do I store images in a jar file to be displayed on a jsp?

    Afternoon all,
    I have created a java component which accepts some parameters and returns a string. The returned string contains html tags to display a table in a webpage when rendered through a browser.
    I want to be able to add this component to any java web project to display my table. The problem is that I want to use images in my table to give the appearance of curved corners.
    How do I store images in my component and render to a webpage?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    You won't be able to make the install of this library as simple as the installation of a jar file. You can't access the images directly in the jar.
    There are a few approaches you can take:
    1 - jar file + resources:
    Have the install as being a jar and a "resources" directory which you store all the images in. Thus the images become part of the web application/web site and are accessible. Probably need to allow an entry in web.xml to configure where/what this directory is called.
    2 - jar file only:
    Provide a servlet to access the images, which will load them from the jar file, using the ClassLoader.getResourceAsStream(). Requires declaration of a servlet in the web.xml file. Won't be as efficient as having the images on disk, but will keep them bundled in the jar file.
    you would generate code such as <img src="myImgServlet?img=.....">

    I wrote an example for my students, you can find it here. It's using PHP as the front end but all you need to do is know how and leverage the stored procedures. All code is downloadable in zip files from the blog.

  • How to store image files in oracle DB

    Hi,
    I am new to working with database.
    Please let me know how to store image files in Database using insert command.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh Yakkala.

    Hi,
    You need to create a directory object to import these files:
    Take a look on the example below:
    eg:
    CREATE TABLE MY_IMAGE_TABLE (
    ID NUMBER,
    NAME VARCHAR2(20),
    IMAGE BLOB);
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY IMAGES AS '/tmp';
    GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY IMAGES TO PUBLIC;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE load_file_to_my_table (p_file_name IN MY_IMAGE_TABLE.NAME%TYPE) AS
    v_bfile BFILE;
    v_blob BLOB;
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO MY_IMAGE_TABLE (id, name, image)
    VALUES (1, p_file_name, empty_blob())
    RETURN doc INTO v_blob;
    v_bfile := BFILENAME('IMAGES', p_file_name);
    Dbms_Lob.Fileopen(v_bfile, Dbms_Lob.File_Readonly);
    Dbms_Lob.Loadfromfile(v_blob, v_bfile, Dbms_Lob.Getlength(v_bfile));
    Dbms_Lob.Fileclose(v_bfile);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    SQL> execute load_file_to_my_table('myfhoto.jpg');Cheers

  • How t store images in database

    hi
    i want coding to store images,files in database

    hi,
    You can use the BLOB data type provided by oracle to store images in the database. BLOB (Binary Large Object). To Store data into the table, we need to use the DBMS_LOB package to manipulate the data and then store it in the table.
    BFILE are used in combination with the BLOB to get the images into the database.
    Thanks, VIkram
