STORE & RETERIEVE DATE

Hello Sir !
t have a problem about inserting date object in the Access2000.
i m getting date from comboboxes.What i do then is as follows

DateFormat fmt=DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT);
java.util.Date date=fmt.parse(sdate);
i have to convert "java.util.Date" object into "java.sql.Date"
object because this is insertable in the database;
i m doing this as follows

java.sql.Date sqldate=new java.sql.Date(date.getTime());
i insert this object into database and reterive then value is different
the way to dispaly is

hello all of you,
i have almost same time of problem.
i am developing a work management application using java swing.
here i have to store a future date in to ms-access database.
say, getdate()+30 days. how can i get the future date and store into ms-access database.
i want the date format to be yyyy-mm-dd
i want to add some days to a particulardate and to get the resulting date.
how can i do this? any ideas please suggest me.
why i am trying for this is,
in my project, there will be admin and clients.
admin will give work to clients for days/months/year.
admin can give a work dayly 10 times,weekly/bi-weekly etc..
so, what i was done previously is, i am storing the same username,workdescription 10 times
into database, if admin has given a work "daily 10 times".
but this is not a good way to store work in db.
so, how can i store a work only once, and if the user logins, with those 10 days, he should be displayed the work assigned by the admin.
please give logic or tell me how to get a future date by adding some days/months
