Strange calender calculation error
I just found a very strange error. A friend of mine is born on 1st of January 1950. So, when I set this in her Address book, if shows correct. And as soon as I safe it and look, it says 6th of February 2086 (no joke).
When I change the date to the 2nd... it shows correct.
Any more of these??
Hey elathouwers,
Thanks for the question.
What version of BlackBerry 10 are you running? Go to Settings>About. Also have you tried to put the same birthday in for other contacts and were you able to reproduce the issue?
I tried to replicate the issue, but not able to. It could be because we are using different versions of software.
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.

Strange behaviour: "undefined method" error
Hello!
I am trying to build a simple webpage.
I created a class UserData with some functions, two of them are getUsername and getLastname. I created a HTML form, with the fields username and lastname (written exactly like this), a JSP (signup2.jsp) with the following code:
<jsp:useBean id="user" class="phil.UserData" scope="session"/>
<jsp:setProperty name="user" property="*"/>
<jsp:forward page="signup3.jsp"/>and another JSP (signup3.jsp) with the following code:
<jsp:useBean id="user" class="phil.UserData" scope="session"/>
Lastname:
<%=user.getLastname()%>Ok. My problem is: when i submit the form, the signup3.jsp raise me a strange error:
"The method getLastname() is undefined for the type UserData". If I replace <%=user.getLastname()%> with <%=user.getUsername()%> ... well... it works!! It shows me the username I submitted.
So basically, my script "sees" a function within a class, but it raises an error when trying to call another function in the same class.
The listing of this "famous" class is:
package phil;
public class UserData {
public String username;
public String firstname;
public void setUsername(String value){
username = value;
public void setFirstname(String value){
firstname = value;
public String getUsername() {
return username;
public String getFirstname() {
return firstname;
}Anyone has any idea what this error is? I was clear enough? I don't even know how to explain it better....
I am using Windows XP, Apache with Tomcat 5.5.0, JRE 1.5.0u4 and JDK J2SE 1.5.0u4
Thanks!"The method getLastname() is undefined for the type UserData"
If I replace <%=user.getLastname()%> with <%=user.getUsername()%> it worksOk, In your class I can see methods
public String getUsername() {
public String getFirstname() { I don't see any method
public String getLastname() { Add that method to your UserData class and try again. -

Strange "class not found" errors
here's the problem:
i noticed that when you "run" an html page with a java applet in it, jdeveloper (ver 9.0.3) doesn't really process the page but instead it runs your applet in an applet window. the applets i made don't have a problem running this way, but when i force jdeveloper to run them in a browser window (ie, by loading the webpage housing the applet as a frame in another page), i get "class <mypackagename.myclassname> not found" errors and the applet doesnt run. this only started after i installed then uninstalled the latest jdk from sun (since it caused problems with jdeveloper) and reverted to the jdk that came with jdev. i already tried adding to the classpath project settings the paths of both the package and the class itself but still it doesn't work.
even stranger still, another applet that i installed before (a 3rd party applet: mgmapguide viewer) works fine regardless wether its run in the page itself or in an appletviewer.
i'm obviously missing something here, can someone point out what? any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advanceJDeveloper does this intentionally..
Here is more info on how JDev deals with Applets and
HTML pages.

Strange running and compiling errors on some apps.
Hey,
I recently installed Archlinux 08.2012 (20 days ago aprox.), everything was going perfectly since yesterday.
I guess that the problem started during the AUR installation of Cinnamon which showed me a strange and undocumented error, during the "make" process. I believe that the error is undocumented because I do not found any post or information about it. Here you have the error which is the same of AUR:
[albert@(none) linuxmint-muffin]$ make

When the error appears my default mouse pointer disappears and is replaced by a cross. If I do not make 3 mouse clicks the compilation progress does not go and never shows the error. It remains waiting for my 3 clicks showing me on the prompt
GISCAN Meta-3.0.gir
As I saw that the error was related to g-ir-scanner I tried to run it:
[albert@(none) ~]$ g-ir-scanner
import: unable to grab mouse `': Resource temporarily unavailable @ error/xwindow.c/XSelectWindow/9047.
/usr/bin/g-ir-scanner: line 26: __builtin__.__dict__[DATADIR]: command not found

/usr/bin/g-ir-scanner: line 29: ` def on_exception(exctype, value, tb):'
[albert@(none) ~]$
And then the mouse pointer's strange cross appeared again with the same symptomes than the last issue.
But the problem does not finish here. This evening I installed the Openshot software and when I tried to run it, the strange cross appeared again.
And the prompt log out is:
[albert@(none) ~]$ openshot
/usr/bin/openshot: line 24: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/usr/bin/openshot: line 24: `realfile = os.path.realpath(__file__)'
[albert@(none) ~]$
I really don't know what kind of problem I have, but It always repeat
/usr/bin/X: line XX: syntax error near unexpected token `('
I hope that someone will know how to help me.
Thank you for your time.
Wamest regars.

How I have to make the Chroot tmpfs? I will compile cinnamon into the chroot.
Thank you for everything.
WorMzy wrote:
I don't know what it is, and how I have it installed.
Nevermind, pkgfile tells me that it's part of gobject-introspection. Try reinstalling that package. You might want to reinstall python2, it shouldn't be complaining about parenthesis there.
I will try to build everything in a clean chroot. I have 8Gb of ram, so enough.
You need disk space for the chroot. Approximately 1GB per (clean) chroot (e.g. /var/lib/archbuild/extra-86_64/root), potentially up to several GB for a "dirty" chroot. RAM is only necessary if you decide to make the "dirty" chroot (/var/lib/archbuild/extra-86_64/$username) into a tmpfs. -
[LV 7.1 Pro on WinXP for Tablet PC's]
I recently let a rather large LV app of mine run in the development environment while I was out for a couple of days. Upon returning I found that the app had hung for ~22 hours waiting for an answer to an Automatic Error Handling (AEH) dialog proclaiming an Error 7 in New File without any indication of the VI hierarchy that called New File. I set about ensuring that AEH dialogs would not pop up and have not been able to discover how I could have possibly received one in the first place.
Subsequent investigation revealed:
Neither AEH option in Options>Block Diagrams were checked.
Network problems had occurred around the time that the app had hung. All file paths are network paths when running in the development environment, so the cause of the error was most likely valid, even if the AEH dialog appearance wasn't.
My app has only one instance where the New File primitive is used by me. That subVI and all others above it in the hierarchy DO NOT have the AEH property enabled. The error out cluster of New File in my subvi is wired.
My app has three instances where New File is called from a vi.lib vi (Open/Create/Replace File.vi, Open Config Data.vi, and Prompt Web Browser Path.vi), none of which have the AEH property enabled. Nor does any of their calling VI's. All three instances also have their error out cluster wired.
A utility to examine the AEH property of all VI's (with all top level and dynamic VI's loaded) in memory reported that only 1 of 308 vi's ( RGT Does File Exists.vi from the Report Generation Toolkit) had that property true. That vi has no subVI's other than the File/Directory Info primitive and no calling VI's in common with any of the vi's that call New File, except a top level VI.
As long as 'Enable automatic error handling dialogs' remains unselected in options>block diagram, I am unable to get an AEH dialog for either the New File or File/Directory Info primitives in a test VI with AEH property enabled and their error out clusters unwired no matter what invalid path I pass to the functions. As soon as the options>block diagram>Enable AEH dialogs' is selected, both primitives fire AEH dialogs with no error out wired and don't when wired. i.e. works as advertised.
In other words I can find no reason why I should have gotten the problem AEH dialog...
I cannot afford for this app to hang because of a network problem, other portions of the app that were running concurrently correctly handled the error and, had the AEH dialog not appeared, the app would have made corrections or shutdown in an orderly fashion.
Any ideas?Very good.
Write Characters to File.vi>Open/Create/Replace File.vi>New File
New File throws the error. Open/Create/Replace strips the hierarchy from the source of the error. Write Characters passes it to the General Error Handler. I never looked above O/C/R file in the hierarchy except for enable automatic error handling property. The tip-off should have been to realize that O/C/R file was stripping the hierarchy from the error and look above that.
The real irony is that Write Characters was being used to log error cluster data to an error log file...
Save as... Copy without updating... the OEM 'Write Characters to File' is gone from this app.
Thanx (a bunch) -
VERY STRANGE Interactive Report Filter Error
I have a very interesting problem happening with an interactive report in my APEX application. The report runs just fine and has been in use for about 6 months. Just recently, the users have begun to run into problems when using the filter capability within the report. There is a specific column heading (RH Analyst) that they typically click on and select a specific analyst name (the list contains 10 entries). Most selections from the filter list work fine. However, when one specific name is chosen, they get the dreaded ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small+* error.
I have been working to narrow the problem down and have found the following:
1. The filter error is related to the content of one specific column (not the one I am filtering on)
2. The column that is causing the error is a CLOB datatype
3. The data in the CLOB column was inserted into the database from a form utilizing an "HTML Editor Standard" type of item
4. The data in the CLOB column was copied and pasted from an email that was being viewed using Outlook 2007
5. If I try to recreate the problem with exactly the same information, but copied and pasted from Outlook 2003, I don't experience the problem.
6. The only people experiencing this problem are people who have upgraded their system from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007
7. When I try to load the form with the data that was stored in the database, I get a 404 page not found error. This is the same error that I get if more than 32k of data was saved into the CLOB.
The data pasted into the HTML editor from Outlook 2007 (_this is the data that causes problems_) and saved to the CLOB looks like this when I extract it in SQL Developer

Thanks,
DaleRoel,
Hey there! Hope you enjoyed your time off ;) Thanks for having a look...
Yes, of course I "could" update the functions, but this is NOT something I want to do. I'm one of those people that subscribes to Coding by Contract and the assertion routines at the beginning and end of my subprograms are an important part of that.
This may be a lack of understanding on my part with regards to the order in which Oracle does it's thing - or a bug in Apex... I'm able to duplicate the problem on apex.oracle.com: dmcghan/test/test.
Log into the demo app with admin/dmcghan. The home page has an interactive report, filter the name and you should get the error. When you look at the query you'll see a filter in the where clause that goes against the apex_collections table. This is populated from the post-authentication procedure. Let me know if you have questions.

Dan

Strange newer FCP version error message when opening project
I'm working on a large (500+ hours) project that I have divided into seperate Final Cut projects so that I can load the sequences without waiting 10 minutes for the masterclips project to open. Lately, when I load the masterclips project it will give me an error message that says that it was made in a newer version of Final Cut. Then, when I restart FCP it will open fine. Does anybody know why it's doing this and how to fix the problem?
I have been copying a lot of media with media manager lately, it has crashed once or twice could that be part of the problem? Also, there are about 20,000 clips about 75% of them are online and they were captured in different capture projects so they are in different capture scratch folders. Is the fact that they are scattered a problem?If you want, you could send me the project. I''ll
open it and do a save as and zap it back to you. You
should then be able to open it and do a reconnect.
May help. My email is in my profile. If it's too
big to email, you could bring it by my cutting room
(in times square). If you can email it, be sure and
archive the file before attaching to an email.
Thank You
I really appreciate the offer and I may still take you up on that, but can I get the same result by opening it on one of out other editing systems and doing a save as? The files are too big to email and Times Square is a bit far from where we are.
Will reconnecting all of the media to a copy of the project help FCP dealing with badly written meta data for clips that is causing corruption. Is that the idea?
Thanks again for your help. -
Strang problem when searching error message in Adapter Engine
Hi all,
In RWB message monitoring, I tried to search all the error messages for yesterday and got no results. But I know there were actually several error messages for yesterday because I got several alert mails.
Then I went to my mail box and copy the message id and used it to search again. Then I found this message was exactlly in "System Error". But if I search all the error messages for yesterday, I get no results.
Anyone knows the problem?
Regards,
HuiHello Hui Wang,
<b>Adapter engine resides on Java stack and u view sxmb_moni on the ABAP stack which displays only Integration Server related errors.</b>
Message that passes the Integration pipeline are visible in sxmb_moni. Errors related to CC can be traced in CC monitoring or adapter monitoring in RWB.
With Regards,
Vidya

Strange "Out of Memory" error when I try to render
I've had this error before, but I could get it to stop if I messed around for a bit. But today I can't get it to go away, even after restarting. Much more complex sequences have been rendered before. This particular section has a background still, a repeating video clip and three still images above it with luma keys on them. At first the 3 stills were jpegs, so I reconnected them to pngs, but that didn't help.
The Mac Pro I'm using has a 2.66 Quad-Core Xeon and 8GB of 1066 DDR3.
Any suggestions?Make sure all the stills are RGB - not CMYK or Grayscale.
Also, the video should be a FCP native format like ProRes - not h.264 or AVCHD.

IDVD reports strange insufficent disk space error message
I want to create a slide show DVD. When I open the project "Project Information" shows DVD capacitiy 0.6GB of 4.2 GB used. That seems ok, but when I try to save as Image I get an "insufficent disk space" error message (On the disk there are 28 GB free). After trying to save the Image "Project Information" says
5084435456,8 GB used - what's going on?
MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.7)Are you doing the Save as Disk Image... correctly? This seem really odd.
File/Save as Disc Image...
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=164927
This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.
-->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and did change in Tiger.
Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD Media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

Strange class not found error.
Hi
In my XML application, I am getting this error
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/xml/sax/ext/LexicalHandler".
at this line of code -> " org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTProcessor processor =
org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTProcessorFactory.getProcessor(); "
Now LexicalHandler.class file is there in weblogic.jar file (same package
also).
and ofcourse this jar file is also in weblogic_classpath.
Anybody has idea, why this error is coming?
I am using weblogic6.1 evaluation version.
Thanks
Ashish JainSounds like you're trying to run it from a Jar ?
Eg. java -jar myapp.jar
Trying running "jar -tf myapp.jar" to see if the jar is still valid / not corrupt.
Ensure you use the jar command from 1.4.2_03, to validate whether the jar format, manifest information etc can be read using that version.

Strange Calender Problem - Duplication etc
I've had my BB 9810 for 20 months now and it's been a good phone. Time for a change soon I guess
Anyway, it has this slighlty annoying problem that I haven't been able to rectify and it seems a lot of people have had a variation of this problem but without any real solutions.
In a nutshell, the calender keeps duplicating the entries. For example, I have (mostly) birthday reminders in my calender which are shown in the message bar thing (next 3), however, when I receive a reminder for a current event, it suddenly shows the event twice. I then have to go into the calender and manually delete one of the occurences, but it continues to show 2 events until it has lapsed.
I don't use syncing (except when I first got the phone and used outlook to transfer some contacts and details (jncluding some calender events) over. It does this with newer entries as well that I have manually entered.
Any help appreciated.Try setting your default CICAL Calendar to one of your email addresses, save it then test again by creating a new appointment.

Athereos wifi gives strange "no such device" errors
I've installed madwifi and udev loads the module (ath_pci) automatically on start... But the Network script complains the ath0 doesn't exist when I boot up:
Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
Set failed on device ath0 ; no such device.
Error, ath0: ioctl SIOCGIFHWADDR: No such device
Likewise, ifconfig doesn't show ath0 and iwconfig shows no wireless extensions. But I've got the right stuff in rc.conf:
lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
eth0="dhcp"
ath0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(lo eth0 ath0)
and in /etc/conf.d/wireless:
wlan_ath0="ath0 essid MyEssid"
WLAN_INTERFACES=(ath0)
Also, I don't know if this is part of the problem but lspci tells me this about my wifi:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. Unknown device 001c (rev 01)
What gives? Is there a known software bug? Is this unsupported hardware, contrary to what I've read about this laptop?
(Hmm, I haven't tried loading it without the country code. I'll see if that works... No, still doesn't work. Bugger.)

Strange Mac OS X error message
Suddenly I am getting this error message when I launch off-line
Module: <CApplicationCorporateTime.cp>, Label: 10, Service error #(0x15020)
with Oracle Calendar 9.0.4.2.577 on Mac OS X. Up until a couple of days ago everything was fine.
I tried deleting everything I could find and reinstalling the application. Then I connected online and downloaded. Then I quit and the error message came back.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks - Michaeli had a similar problem once, after upgrading to 9.0.4.2.580 it disappeared (maybe you have to delete the files => home:Documents:Oracle CalendarUserData)
