Strange Error - Compiling, but no changes show up...

I've compiled my client/server application more than a dozen times - removed it in its entirety on tomcat and on netscape and ie, but STILL, when I make changes to the source and compile, the change will NOT show up... ? SOME changes will show up to certain .java files, but other ones just won't. I checked the .class files to make sure they were the newly created ones and they sure seem to be... but how does that happen? Has this happened to anybody else? I'm not even really sure what to look up anymore!! (I've tried, but haven't found anything related to this...) =) Thanks to anybody who knows anything about this problem!!

Not only have I done that, I've restarted my whole computer a couple of times. I cleaned out all the temporary internet files, all cookies and anything in the cache... but still the same weird problem. Like I said though, changes to CERTAIN files will work, but not others... (unfortunately it's the others that I need!)

  • OBIEE restart - Javahost Strange error (Simple - But what am I missing)

    Hi All,
    We have been encountering a strange error in javahost. Every time our OBIEE production server (on Unix Sun Sparc 64 bit) is restarted, the javahost service goes down after 5-7 hours.
    We usually restart our OBIEE server only once a month to accommodate our month end release changes. However, for the past 3 months we are seeing that the server and charts work fine when the server is restarted (around 5PM after production release) till we leave the office at 7:30PM. But when we are back the next day, we see that all the charts have stopped working and have instead started showing an '!' symbol. Hence this issue is happening sometime in the night (we dont know when since there is not log which says so)
    We saw all the log files
    1. NQserver.log
    2. javhost.log
    3. sawserver.log
    4. config.txt
    5. scheduler.logs
    6. corda.log
    But there is no mention of any error due to which the javahost stopped running. I checked the java host service using netstat and it is not running when this issue happens.
    Suprisingly, all we need to do to resolve this error is to restart the OBIEE server. Then it runs without issues for the rest of the month till the next monthly release.
    I have never seen such an issue and not sure why it just resolves when OBIEE is restarted. On restart it has given this message in saw.log:
    'Port 9710 was reported as currently in use by the system. The configured listener address may be in the TIME_WAIT state or may be in use by some other service.'
    However, all the services are running fine error is encountered, which leaves me thinking that i should actually have this error on restart, else something is not well.
    Please Help!!
    Regards,
    Anand

    Have raised an SR and Oracle is saying that charts might be huge so this might be causing it. I dont think so because it works well after teh second restart. We changed the config file to increase the chart memory but to no avail.
    How could you resolve it?

  • Strange error compiling a custom kernel...

    Here is the error i get when compiling a custom kernel (i tried both 2.6.22 from core and 2.6.23 from testing):

    i have no idea of what it the problem, the config file it's the same i've used for all my 2.6.22 kernels, any idea?
    Thank you.

    This kind of error is when you forget to add a source file to gcc comand line during compilation. I think that problem might be in one of broken Makefiles in kernel tree. Maybe some patch messed with them. Try to download fresh kernel sources.

  • Startup Disk full error message but free space shows 87GB

    Hi I have looked through these forums as much as I could but can't find the answer to this. I was working in photoshop CS6 and received the message that my startup disk was almost full. I had just cleared files the day previous and had 87GB of free space. So I restarted after emptying trash etc and tried to get back into photoshop but had the same message, checked my free space and it said 2gb. So I began my search here and saw the issue with .OfflineCache in mail but was never able to locate that file on my computer and after trying several things and failing I checked the info on my Mac hd drive again and it was back to 87gb yet message still coming.  I have 8 Gigs of Ram, a 321 Gb hard Drive and running a Mackbook pro 13" with Mac osx Lion 10.7.5. Mid 2010.
    Please Help!!

    Hi,
    I would try using GrandPerspective (http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net) to try find out where all the space is being taken up.

  • My iphone 3GS no longer syncs with iTunes. The phone is recognised, backs up but then I get an error message: "Waiting for changes to be applied". BUT unlike other people, it doesn't stay stuck on it, instead the process closes down immediately

    Hi all,
    Apologies: I've just joined the community and didn't quite figure how to write a msg! Hope it works...
    Anyway,
    I read many posts on this annoying error message (Waiting for changes to be applied) in the last 2/3 days, but they all refer to the sync staying stuck on it.
    Mine doesn't.
    I read the message, then it quickly shuts down the sync and the iTunes progress bar only shows the apple...
    As suggested by many, I removed voice msgs, turned off/on, tried to sync in individual stages (calendar only...) but nothing works.
    I am up to date on iTunes (11.1.1.11) and have IOS 6.1.3 on my phone, to sync on a Win8 pc (all worked fine until recently).
    I have had this phone for several years and it has never done this.
    It worked absolutely fine, until I loaded the latest version of iTunes it seems...
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks

    ALSO, on the iPod under Settings>General>iTunes Sync, you may need to back out of the "iTunes Wi-fi Sync," and reopen it to get it to update.
    (I use iTunes 11.1.5.5)

  • Getting an strange error in "PluginPrefix.pch" while compiling a plugin code with InDesign CS4 SDK.

    Hi everybody,
    Currently trying to compile/build the existing Plugin code (C++) with InDesign CS4 SDK on my Mac OS X 10.5 machine but getting following strange errors.
      /Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/gcc/PluginPrefix.pch:26:27: error: MemoryStatics.h: No such file or directory
      /Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/gcc/PluginPrefix.pch:39:30: error: PluginBuildFlags.h: No such file or directory
      /Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/gcc/PluginPrefix.pch:40:28: error: AnsiBasedTypes.h: No such file or directory
      /Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/gcc/PluginPrefix.pch:41:26: error: ShukHeaders.cp: No such file or directory
    Though above mentioned files are present at the following directory
    /Volumes/../../../Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/common/
    Note : However initially I did not find “MemoryStatics.h” and “AnsiBasedTypes.h” files in the installed SDK directory. I have downloaded them from the net and copied those into the above mentioned directory.
    I am not much familiar with Mac OS environment and compiling/building C++ code with Xcode. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue (might be very trivial and related to Xcode project configuration) ?

    Thanks for the quick response,
    Yes, current build settings include path shortcuts as mentioned below and it also contains “$(CS_SDK_PATH)/source/public/includes” path in HEADER_SEARCH_PATHS settings.  But still I am getting the same error: MemoryStatics.h: No such file or directory
    CS_SDK_PATH= /Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK
    CS_SDK_PRJ_PATH=/Volumes/MAC Extended/Inbetween Extended/Visual Studio/InBetweenDev/Projects/InBetweenCS/IBClientPluginCS3/prjCS4/mac
    Just for clarification : my Plugin code /project files are not inside the InDesign SDK (build/mac/prj). All the plugin project is outside of the InDesign SDK directory. Thus above mentioned CS_SDK_PATH and CS_SDK_PRJ_PATH are completely different.
    Is it expected that the plugin code/project files should be inside the InDesign SDK/build/mac/prj  directory only ? or is it okay if we put it in the completely another directory structure and modify the  SDK_PRJ_PATH accordingly (as in my case) ?
    Please let me know if you want me to elaborate the situation further.

  • My B+Tree can compile but have runtime error ... i can't tink why ...

    Sorry to bother anyone ... i have spent almost 3 weeks trying to debug the problem...
    My B+ Tree can compile but can't run as it throw invalid Null pointer Exception ..
    I suspected the error is in the split (int order ) method in the BTreeNode class but i can't remedy for it
    This my program code
    public class BTree {
    * The order of the B-Tree. All nodes of the B-Tree can store up to 2*order key values.
    private int order;
    * The number of key (with associated data values) stored in the B-Tree.
    private int count;
    * The root node of the B-Tree
    private BTreeNode root;
    * The first leaf node in the B-Tree. This field is used to give the starting point for sequential
    * access to the keys and data stored in the leaf nodes.
    private BTreeNode first;
    * The last leaf node in the B-Tree. This field is used to give the starting point for reverse
    * sequential access to the keys and data stored in the leaf nodes.
    private BTreeNode last;
    * A change count that can be used to invalidate iterators. This field is updated whenever a key plus data pair
    * is added to the B-Tree (or the data associated with a key is changed), or when a key plus data pair are
    * deleted from the B-Tree.
    private int changeCount = 0;
    // WHEN DOING ASSIGNMENT 5, DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL FIELDS TO THIS CLASS
    // You will loose marks if you add additional fields to this class. The fields above are all that
    // you need. If you need a variable in a method, use a local variable. I have seen too many
    // assignments where students add fields rather than create local variables. Hopefull the threat
    // of loosing (quite a few) marks will help reduce this habit.

    * This method searches the B-Tree for an occurence of the key in a leaf node and returns the result
    * of the search in a SearchPosition object.
    * <p/>Note that the key may occur in an interior node of the BTree without occuring in the leaf
    * nodes. This can be the result of a deletion operation. This method need to search down to the
    * leaf node that should contain the key if the key and associated data is in the B-Tree, and then
    * scan through the keys in the leaf node for the search key.
    * <p/>The result of the search is returned as a SearchPosition object, as this allow the return
    * of the success or failure of the search, as well as the data belonging to the key. It also
    * allows position information to be returned so that an interator can be initialised with the
    * key as the starting position for subsequent sequential access to adjacent keys.
    * <p/>This is one of the method you need to implement.
    * <p/>Implementation nodes:<br>
    * You need to find the leaf node that may contain the key (same code as for add()), then
    * scan the leaf BTreeNode for the search tree. You can do this within this method, as you
    * have total access to the fields and methods of BTreeNode (as BTreeNode is an inner class
    * of BTree). If you find the key, construct and return a SearchPosition object with the appropriate
    * details of the position, otherwise construct add return a SearchPosition object that indicates the
    * search failed.
    * @param key The key to search for in the BTree
    * @return A SearchPosition object returning the data and position information for the search
    public SearchPosition searchFor(Comparable key) {
    // You need to add the code for this method. The code below simply creates a
    // SearchPosition object which indicates an unsuccessful search.
    return new SearchPosition(false, null, -1);
    * A method to delete a node from the BTree.
    * <p/>The method should return the data object that was deleted when the key plus data object pair
    * are deleted from the B-tree.
    * <p/>The method should throw a BTreeError exception (with an appropriate reason string) if the
    * key is not found in the B-tree.
    * <p/>This is a method you can implement for bonus marks in Assignment 5.
    * <p/>Implementation notes:<br>
    * The easiest way to proceed is to use searchFor() to determine if they key is in the BTree, and
    * (if it is in the B-tree) to return position information about the key. Throw an exception if the
    * key is not in the B-tree, otherwise keep a copy of the data assocaited with the key (to return),
    * then for the leaf node containing the key (a BTreeNode object), call the deleteLeafNodeKey() method,
    * passing across the leaf key index of the key (so you don't have to find it again in the leaf node).
    * After this method deletes the key, return the data you saved as the method result.
    * @param key The key to delete (along with it's associated data) from the B-tree.
    * @return The data associated with the key that was deleted.
    public Object delete(Comparable key){
    // You need to add the code for this method.
    return null;
    * The inner class BTreeNode is used to represent the nodes in the B-Tree.
    * <p/>The nodes in the BTree are of two types:
    * <ol>
    * <li>Leaf nodes that contain the keys and associated data values, stored in ascending key order.<br>
    * These leaf nodes have next and previous pointers to adjacent leaf nodes to allow an easy
    * implementation of an iterator class to provide bi-directional sequential access to the keys stored
    * in the BTree nodes.
    * <li>Interior nodes that contain keys and links to child nodes (that are either all internal nodes
    * or all leaf nodes), organised as the node of a multi-way search tree. The interior nodes have
    * one more child node link than keys. The child node link at index k is to a node with keys that
    * are all less than the key at index k in this node. The link at index k+1 is to a child node
    * with keys that are all greater than or equal to the key at index k.
    * </ol>
    * The BTreeNode class allows you to create these two 'types' of nodes, depending on the parameters
    * passed to the constructor.
    * <p/>There are methods that should only be called for leaf nodes and methods that should only be
    * called for interior nodes. These methods should throw an exception if called by the wrong node
    * type. This class should really be designed using inheritance to mimic the pascal/C++ variant
    * record structure, but this design is relatively easy to understand and to implement.
    * <p/>Note that this class is an inner class of BTree, and so all objects will have an implict
    * reference to the BTree container object. This class has direct access to all the fields of the
    * BTree contaner object. In particular, the order of the BTree is available, hence this class
    * does not need to keep a copy of the order as a field.
    * <p/>Skeleton class provided for Objects and Algorithms Assignment 5

    * <li>If the key at the index is equal to the insertion key, update the data field and return - you are done.
    * <li>Otherwise shuffle the keys values from the insertion index along to make a hole for the insertion key,
    * and insert the insertion key into the keys array. Do the same for the data array values to insert the
    * new data value into the data array at the insertion index.
    * <li>increment the number of keys, and increment the container BTree object's count field.
    * <li>If the number of keys in the node is now no more than 2*order, you are done, so simply return.
    * <li>Otherwise the node has (2*order+1) key values, and need to split. The split operation leaves the first
    * <i>order</i> keys and data values in this node (and so the node's numberOfKeys value will become
    * <i>order</i>, and moves the remaining (order + 1) keys and data values to a new BTreeNode leaf node
    * that you need to create.<br>
    * You need to fix up the previous and next fields of this leaf node and the new leaf node you have created.<br>
    * Two sub-cases:
    * <ol>
    * <li>If this node is the root node (i.e., it does not have a parent node), the split of this node will create
    * a new root node, with a single key (the key at index (order+1)) and this node and the new BTreeNode as
    * the child nodes. In my solution I used a call to the method newRootNode to do this. The newRootNode()
    * method will also be used when a split of an interior node creates a new root node. See the JavaDoc for
    * details of what the newRootNode() method should do. Once the new root node has been created, and all
    * the fields updated due to the split, you are done.
    * <li>Otherwise we need to insert in this node's parent node the middle key (at index (order+1) and the
    * new node that we created. This is done by the method insertInterior(). The method is passed the
    * key to insert (at location this.parentIndex in the keys array of the parent node), the index to
    * to insert the key (this.parentIndex), and the new leaf node (that will be inserted at index
    * (this.parentIndex+1) in the parent node's child links array).
    * </ol>
    * </ol>
    * @param key The key to insert into the leaf node.
    * @param data The key's corresponding data value.

  • Sample java client not running--showing a strange error-- help urgently

    Hi,
    I have followed all the steps, given in JDevloper help, to create and deploy an EJB onto a 9ias server and I have been successful in creating the EJB and deploying it from the JDevloper machine to 9ias machine.My JDevloper is on one machine and 9ias is on another. After deploying when I am creating a sample java client, as given in the JDevloper help file, it gives a very strange error
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         void Samplemypackage1.MySessionEJB1Client.main(java.lang.String[])
    Process exited with exit code 0.
    I have tried a lot but it's not happening. Is it becuase
    1. 9ias and JDevloper should be on the same machine
    2. some configurational changes need to be done in the settings
    3. jdk1.3.1 is not compatible with JDevloper.
    I am enclosing the code snippet for your quick reference.
    package Samplemypackage1;
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    //import javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import mypackage1.MySessionEJB1;
    import mypackage1.MySessionEJB1Home;
    public class MySessionEJB1Client
    public static void main(String [] args)
    MySessionEJB1Client mySessionEJB1Client = new MySessionEJB1Client();
    try
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "admin");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://9ias:23791/MySessionEJB1");
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    MySessionEJB1Home mySessionEJB1Home = (MySessionEJB1Home)ctx.lookup("MySessionEJB1");
    MySessionEJB1 mySessionEJB1;
    // Use one of the create() methods below to create a new instance
    mySessionEJB1 = mySessionEJB1Home.create();
    // Call any of the Remote methods below to access the EJB
    System.out.println(mySessionEJB1.calc("om sri"));
    catch(NullPointerException ne)
    ne.printStackTrace();
    catch(Throwable ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    When I tried to debug the program I found that the line " mySessionEJB1 = mySessionEJB1Home.create()" returns a null. I really fail to understand as to why it is happening.
    Please help me.
    Thankx

    That's strange. home.create() should never return a null.
    Do you see any exception trace on the server side?
    Do you have the same version of oc4j.jar on client and server machine? Which version of Jdeveloper and 9iAs are you using?
    Try copying oc4j.jar from the server machine to client machine and use that to connect to the bean.

    i have change my phone language to english. but the phone shows chinese language in the internet pages and with call details. how to change it. why is this occuring?

    If the phone is not unlocked, let's say for example it is locked to another carrier such as at&t, when you put in the Tmobile SIM in, the phone would complain about the SIM.
    Does your phone do that? If yes, then the party that sold you the iPhone4S (if you purchased it from another person) may have not done the unlocking properly, and that may explain why Tmobile is insisting on the phone being locked.
    If you purchased your iPhone4S new from Apple, did you pick Tmobile, or did you choose unlocked?
    If you picked the Tmobile choice, then it should come up ready to use.
    If you picked the unlocked choice, then you would need to visit Tmobile to purchase a nano-SIM and usually they should be more than willing to help you, since you're paying for their service.
    But as you have indicated, this phone is under AppleCare, so if it doesn't work with a supposedly good Tmobile SIM, the quickest way to fix this is to get a replacement phone. When we troubleshoot we always try the least time consuming methods first.
    You may have noticed it, that a good number of unfortunate uses of the iPhone4S have had their wifi become strangely disabled after upgrade to iOS7. Your situation is the reverse, your wifi is useable but not your cellular network.
    In the mean time, you can apply for a Google Voice account (see http://www.google.com/voice), and obtain a free North American telephone number. You can then download one of many free Google Talk applications. Set it up, and you will be able to call and receive phone calls using your wifi. This would be just for the transition period before you get a useable phone.
    Google voice provides average voice quality calls to and from US & Canada numbers for free for 1 hour per call. You can use this as a temporary work around while you are waiting for your replacement phone.
    Cheers!

    i downloded music using a different apple id on my ipad then i changed my id on my ipad to match my iphone but it isnt showing my music i bought with my old ipad apple id on icloud. how can i get my music back!?

    It won't show on iCloud because iCloud is associated with a specific Apple ID.  The music should be on your computer's iTunes and a Sync will put it on the iPad (be sure to configure iTunes properly).  If you want to get it from iCloud, I think that you need to temporarily change your ID back to the old one but I've never done that myself.

    I changed my Apple ID on all my devices and  services but iCloud still shows my old Apple ID. How can I get it to update?

    I asked the Apple Tech support people and their advice worked for me, it's a setting on the iPad itself. see below.
    Follow the below instructions to sign in with your new account name.
    1) From the home screen, tap Settings
    2) Tap Store
    3) Tap Sign Out
    4) Tap Sign In
    5) Enter your current account name "xxxx" and your password  and tap OK.
    If you are still unable to change the sign in name on your iPad, please sign into your account on your computer and then sync the iPad so the changes will be updated.

    I have tried several times to install iTunes update 11.1.4 on my PC.  I get a message saying that install was not successful and an error message of MSVCR80.dll not present, Error 7, (Windows error 126).  I am told to reinstall iTunes, but nothing changes.  What next?  I've not had this problem with other updates requested by Apple.

    I have also had the same problem with my Win 7 32 bit computer.  I had great help from Apple techs in Montreal and Orlando for 2.5 hours.  They helped me remove every trace of Apple products and clean the registry in two different ways.  Each install gave the same problem!  If Apple techs can't fix it (on some of our machines) then we are really in trouble.  They promised to raise it with the "engineers" and get back to me with a solution.  I am waiting and hoping.  Otherwise maybe version 11.1.5 will have a fix ??
