Strange mapping of Boolean from Logical to DB2 Relational model
Hi guys,
Using most recent version of Data Modeler (3.3.0.747) I notice strange behavior:
Attribute, declared as Boolean in Logical model is engineered to a column, with type CHAR(1) in Relational Model, when "RDBMS Type" is Oracle, but when "RDBMS Type" is "DB2", column type is CHAR(254)
Is this a bug or a feature?
Is there any way, where I can control type mapping between logical and relational model?
Well, I can just go and change CHAR(254) to CHAR(1) all over my Relational Model, but this is pretty frustrating.

Is there any way, where I can control type mapping between logical and relational model?In fact mapping is between logical data type and database native types - Tools>Types Administration.
You need to change mapping for Boolean logical data type - check "size" check box and put value in text field to define default size. Default size will be used when there is no explicitly defined size in column/domain definition.

Engineering logical subtypes to Relational model
I have a logical model with subtype (box in box). When I forward engineer to a relational model there is nothing in the model to represent the subtypes. I was expecting (as in old Designer) to see a differentiator "type" column to be generated with a column check constraint based on my subtypes. In the logical model I selected "single table" as the implementation strategy.
Note I also have these entities tagged as Dimensions and did notice the engineering dialog showed the substypes as hierarchies too.

Engineer between Logical Model and Relational Model
I am trying to update changes from one model to the other but there are dublicate entries generated instead of updates.
The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionary.
Our rule is, that the name of Entities/Tables and Attribute/Columns are identical.
So I changed the Naming Standard of the Logical Model in Preferences
from Separator = Space to Separator = Character with char = Underline.
If the entity is not existing, it is created with the correct name.
If the entity exists, a new entity is created with Namev1.
The same happens when I try to update changes in the other direction.
How can I achieve that the existing entity (or table) is updated and not a new one is created?
Or in other words, is there a way to link entities to corresponding tables?

The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionaryit's good to import entities and related tables from Designer repository together. Data Modeler will import the link between them and use that link in synchronization between logical and relational model. After that you can import details for physical model from database.
If you don't have tables in Designer repository and keep the same names for entities, attributes, tables and columns then you can engineer logical model to relational and import details from database.

And you will need to setup bank change commands for your particular instrument, if it does in fact have several banks of internal patches. Logic comes with a selection of bank change commands, one of them will almost always work.
My first copy of Logic came on floppies, two of them I think and was MIDI only, moved up to Logic_Audio at version 3.0 I think. -

Can LSMW designs for conversions accept file from logical path?
The requirement is during actual conversion execution -the conversion team can store files anywhere they want, configure logical file names/paths and use our LSMWs without needing program modifications.

How to map IntegrationProcress to ALE Logical System Name
Hy,
i'm triying to send an Idoc from my IntegrationProcess MY_IP
to out Backend SAP System XX1.
Konfiguration has been done with an valid ReceiverAgreement.
But neverless i got the following error:
"Sender Service MY_IP cannot be mapped to an ALE Logical System"
1. Where do i specify this Mapping? (I tried Header Mapping ReceiverAgreement
without success)
2. In my message mapping EDI_DC40 has mandatory fields like RCVPRN.
But hardcoding the Receiver here cannot be the solution. Do the value
i map there do have any effect at all?

you're right - now it works. I just defined any LS and SID. No the IDoc runs into the system, but cannot be processed since the originator is unknown. But this can be solved now with SALE and we20.
To be honest: there are so many blogs concernig this case. But i didn't find any which explains why the behavior is different when you send an IDoc from an Integration Process and what happens behind the scene. In the documentation
i didn't find anything at all...

First of all, I know this won't work for bitwise |.
But, this code:
boolean a=false, b=true, c;
c = a|b; // c is now true
c = a||b; // c is now also true
Is it just a remnant from the C-style language, or what?
Are boolean | and logical || optimized differently?
Conditions in Java can only evaluate to boolean values, so things like this
if ((a == false) | (b == false))
works just as well as
if ((a == false) || (b == false))
I'd say it's bad style to use || for boolean (as in c=a||b;), but does it really matter?

|| is a boolean or logical OR that operates on boolean.
| evaluates to an integral values (I don't know if it's int or the larger of the operand types, or what).
A || B can short circuit because the truth of the entire statement is known if A is true.
x | y cannot, in general, short circuit, because it's a bitwise or--that is, you have to examine each bit. Now you COULD examine only those bits of y for which the corresponding x bit was 0, and then if x was all 1s, not examine y at all. However, Java doesn't work this way, AFAIK--it just operates on all values as the general case--examining both operands.
It's been put forth that the difference between | and || is that | doesn't short circuit and || does. I would say that's a side effect. The real fundamental difference is that | does bitwise operations on integral operands to produce an integral result, whereas || does a boolean operation on boolean operands to produce a boolean result.
The comparisons using true/false stem from the fact that, for | (and I assume &), boolean expressions (e.g. true/false) seem to be treated as single bit integral types. However, in the general case, boolean and integral types are not interchangeable in Java, and the issues of short circuit vs. not doesn't apply, since the two operators do different things and operate on different types. -

I need to delete the all the data from logical file (application server file/unix file).But I dont want to delete the logical file ( only data in the logical file should be deleted, i.e making file empty)

I recently migrated my MacBook from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8, using the Snow Leopard CD I purchased from Apple. Since then I have noticed a strange ozone smell coming from the MacBook in the area where the hinges are to open and close the unit. I was told by Apple that it probably is not serious and is coming from the fans in the MacBook. It is true that the smell/odor is more intense when the fans are working. Apple said I should take the MacBook to an Apple Store to have the hardware checked out. Everything seems to be working correctly. I am backing up automatically wirelessly to a Time Capsule, which I had not done until recently, although I had purchased the Time Capsule in 2009. I have not noticed this odor before. Does anyone suspect something more serious that may be going on?
You may be smelling it because with the new OS the processor is having to work harder causing it to get hotter then it would with the other OS. I can't say there is nothing wrong, but what could be happening is just that, it's getting hotter so the fan is spinning faster and moving more air so you are getting more of the smell then you would before. I would still continue to back it up, and take it to the Apple Store at a Genius Bar and have them look at it to make sure. Was the computer ever in a smoky environment??

Is it possible to sync my logic bmp with my microkorg so that my korg automatic will sync with the BMP from logic?I'm not faniliar with the Micro, but logic outputs mtc and midi clock. The serttings are under project settings/synchronization. You'll have to set the Micro to external sync and be sending midi info from your computer to the Micro. Then if you hit play or record in Logic, the micro will chase it.

I am not very sure about the 9ARE aggregate (haven't used it in backups), but RTSCUBE is used to copy time Series (TS) KF data from cube to planning area (SNP or DP).
Are you trying to restore some time series data from your backup cube to the planning area? If yes, then do a mapping of characteristic from cube to planning area in RTSCUBE, and also map the TS KF between cube and planning area.
If your KF is not a time series KF, then you can't copy it from cube to planning area. You could get data to cube for some reporting, otherwise I am not sure what use the backup is for you. For SNP, most of the data would be received from R/3, so there's not much point in having a backup.

Views always appear as different when engineering from Logical to Relational
I created some views in my logical model. After I engineer them to relational model, they appear in relational with an exclamation mark near the upper left corner. If I try to generate ddl for them, I get an error (-- ERROR: Invalid View VwTest). I realized that I have to "validate selected views", in order for the eclamation mark to disappear, and then I am able to generate ddl for them. After that, when I engineer from logical to relational again, it always shows me that my views are different. The difference is that in logical, my entities are shown between double quotes ("), while in relational, after the validation, the tables are not between double quotes. Is there a way to overcome this?

Strange system log error from Photoshop CS4
Hi.
I keep getting this strange system log error from Photoshop CS4.
It comes after a wile when using PS CS4.
I tried to chance the memory settings and scratch disc to see if that helped. It didn't.
I also checked all my ram for anything bad. 16GB in my Mac Pro Intel OS X 10.5.6
Everything is updated to latest included Adobe apps.
