Strange SAP XI mapping UserDefine function - 'syncTexts' and 'first'

Hi,
In the SAP standard OrderCreate_OrdersOrders05 XI map, there is a strange node logic at /ORDERS05/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19, the source is /OrderCreate/OrderCreateBody/OrderCreateDetails/OrderCreateProductLineItem/ProductIdentification. There are SAP UserDefined function 'syncTexts' and 'first' in the mapping logic.
Does anyone have any idea why there is such userdefine logic in the map? it's actually causing problem in the data mapping and if I remove those functions it works, but think there should be some reason why SAP code the logic like this....
anyone knows?
Thanks!
Archer

Hi Archer,
You are talking about SAP standard map. So it is shipped with a certain SWVC and namespace.
How should I find it without this information? I cannot look in every SWVC...

  • SAP GRC AC: Functional Areas and Point of Contact

    Dear all.
We are configuring the functional areas and i would like to know how to map a user (Point of Contact) for each functional area.
    Regards and thank you.

    Dear Sara,
according to definition Point of Contact is an approver for a specific Functional Area. Functional Area is an attribute used to categorize users and roles.
First of all you need to assign a user to role Point of contact in Access Control Owners application.
Next you can use them in MSMP configuration as using following FM: GRAC_MSMP_POINT_CONTACT_AGENT.
Let me know, if you require further assistance,

  • Crystal Reports Based on SAP Function Module and Transperant Tables

    Hi,
I need to develop reports based on SAP trasperant tables and to filter the records I require to use one of the function module in SAP.
I have created parameters in Crystal reports that are required for the function to execute and are included in the where clause of the query. This helped the fuction to get those parameters and execute it.
The thing is that the fuction works fine with one set of parameters and gives accurate results both in SAP and Crystal Reports.
But fails for other set of parameters.
It works fine when we directly execute function in SAP produces a record set. But, when we pass those parameters from Crystal Reports it fetches no data.
Can anybody tell me the exact procedure to use function module and transperent tables together in Crystal Reports ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Niwas Joshi

    Hi,
This is going to be hard to explain, however you need to recognize that the function has input and possibly output (export) parameters.  Crystal Reports is able to work with these parameters.  However it is up to you to figure out how these parameters are used effectively to give you the correct results when joining the function with other data sources such as transparent tables.
If you're using transparent tables and functions in a Crystal Report, then you need to link these objects in such a way so that a left outer join for example is using the function's output parameters to join to the transparent table equivalent fields.  However if the table is the starting point then the joins from the table should join the Input parameters of your function.
you can set these joins in the Database menu | Database Expert | Links of Crystal Reports.

  • List all functional equipment and show if SAP plan exists and next inspect'

Used transcation IP19 - graphical scheduling overview. Unfortunately it appears to only show functional locations with SAP plans. I want an output that shows me all my current functional locations and if SAP plan exists and if possible when it is next due.
Also tried IH06 and graphical overview, but think this is simmlpy another way of doing IP19.
Because all electrical circuits for example should be inspected then i should have say 100 circuits with 100 sap plans. The only way to do it appears to be downloading to exel or access and comparing 2 tables? Thanks in advance.

  • Strange problem of calling library function node in labview 2010 and 2011

one year ago,I develop a program to usb device data and it works well,in labview 8.6 or 2009(win xp).Recently, When I test
the program in labview 2010 and labview 2011(win xp).,the program always crash immediately.I check the program and find main
problem is in call library function node. In my program,I use labview 2009 library for the USBExpress driver for
    Silicon Labs USB MCU's from:https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-9522,for example, 2 functions SI_OPEN and SI_READ
    can not work well.
the header definition of SI_OPEN and SI_READ is:
    SI_STATUS WINAPI SI_Open(
    DWORD dwDevice,
    HANDLE* cyHandle
    SI_STATUS WINAPI SI_Read(
    HANDLE cyHandle,
    LPVOID lpBuffer,
    DWORD dwBytesToRead,
    LPDWORD lpdwBytesReturned,
    OVERLAPPED* o = NULL
the SI_STATUS is equivalent to int type.
orignally, for HANDLE * in SI_Open, the parameter type in call library function node is numeric, data format is unsigned 32 bit integer ,and pass pointer to value.
for HANDLE in SI_Read, the parameter type in call library function node is numeric, data format is unsigned 32 bit integer ,and pass value. The program works well in labview 8.6&2009,however,crash in labview 2010 &2011.
later,I debug the program, for HANDLE *, I choose parameter type in call library function node as adapt to type, data format is point to Handles.for HANDLE, I choose parameter type in call library function node as adapt to type, data format is Handles by Value.Crash not happend in labview 2010&2011,however,it cannot read any data from from USB device correctly as before.I can not find the reason.
Dear friends,I need your help to answer the problem. Thank you.

Based on the help page it looks like it should execute asynchronously.
The thing in the description that leads me to believe they execute asynchronously is that you can configure the library to run as a multi-threaded operation.
Please take a look here to see the difference between synchronous and asynchronous execution.
Since the code even has the ability to be multi-threaded, you can consider it as running in parallel to your other code.
Any data returned is passed to the thread that called that function.

  • Mapping Engine Functionality changed?

    Dear Friends,
I want to know whether the Mapping Engine Functionality has been enhanced in the latest SP's. The reason I'm asking, coz - I have created the below scenario in our earlier SP-16(3.0) , Currently we are on SP-14(7.0), I have re-created the same scenario, but it's failing in the mapping part.
    Scenario:

In our SP-14, I'm gettin the following error
com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: Unknown Byte-Order-Mark. XML MUST begin either with WhiteSpace or with '<?xml', and not: 'Øÿà'(:main:, row:1, col:0) at
The above error is valid, coz the source message is an Image not an XML, but how come the same scenario was working with SP-16? I also confirmed from one of my friend he is on SP-9(7.0), that he was able to execute the scenario successfully.
    Can anyone shed some information?

  • SAP MDM, ORACLE MDM, Microsoft MDM and IBM MDM

Could someone discuss the differences and similarities between these MDMs-
SAP MDM, ORACLE MDM, Microsoft MDM and IBM MDM. Who is/will dominate the Market?
    Thank you.
    Priya.

    Hi priya k  ,
These r the details regarding MDMs-SAP MDM, ORACLE MDM, Microsoft MDM and IBM MDM.
    SAP Master Data Management
SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) enables master data on customers, partners and products to be consolidated and harmonized across the enterprise, making it available to all staff and business partners. A key component of SAP NetWeaver, SAP MDM ensures data integrity across all IT systems.
The SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) component of SAP NetWeaver creates the preconditions for enterprise services and business process management. The functionality represents customers, products, employees, vendors, and user-defined data objects in unified form. With SAP NetWeaver MDM, customers can manage master data and supplemental content, such as texts, PDF documents, high-resolution images, or diagrams in a central business information warehouse.
SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) is a component of SAP's NetWeaver product group and is used as a platform to consolidate, cleanse and synchronise a single version of the truth for master data within a heterogeneous application landscape. It has the ability to distribute internally and externally to SAP and non-SAP applications. SAP MDM is a key enabler of SAP Enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture. Standard system architecture would consist of a single central MDM server connected to client systems through SAP Exchange Infrastructure using XML documents, although connectivity without SAP XI can also be achieved. There are five standard implementation scenarios:
Content Consolidation - centralised cleansing, de-duplication and consolidation, enabling key mapping and consolidated group reporting in SAP BI. No re-distribution of cleansed data.
Master Data Harmonisation - as for Content Consolidation, plus re-distribution of cleansed, consolidated master data.
Central Master Data Management - as for Master Data Harmonisation, but all master data is maintained in the central MDM system. No maintenance of master data occurs in the connected client systems.
Rich Product Content Management - Catalogue management and publishing. Uses elements of Content Consolidation to centrally store rich content (images, PDF files, video, sound etc.) together with standard content in order to produce product catalogues (web or print). Has standard adapters to export content to DTP packages.
Global Data Synchronization - provides consistent trade item information exchange with retailers through data hubs (e.g. 1SYNC) Some features (for example, workflow) require custom development out of the box to provide screens for end users to use.
    History
SAP is currently on its second iteration of MDM software. Facing limited adoption of its initial release, SAP changed direction and in 2004 purchased a small vendor in the PIM space called A2i. This code has become the basis for the currently shipping SAP MDM 5.5, and as such, most analysts consider SAP MDM to be more of a PIM than a general MDM product at this time.

    Oracle MDM
Oracle MDM is a core “Fusion” technology that will enable them to integrate their diverse portfolio of acquired solutions (PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel, etc.) and allow them to work together much more effectively.MDM is also a key component of Oracle’s middleware strategy to aggressively target heterogeneous environments – solutions running on different databases, operating systems, and using different data warehouse or analytical solutions. Oracle is a leading provider of ERP and CRM applications, but more broadly they are a provider of core platform solutions that help pull together and harmonise all a company’s IT assets.”
Master Data Management solutions provide the ability to consolidate and federate master information from disparate systems and lines of business into one central data repository or “hub.” As part of its Master Data Management strategy, Oracle offers solutions that enable customers to synchronise critical information in a single, central location to achieve an accurate, 360-degree view of data, whether from packaged, legacy or custom applications. Oracle offers the following solutions:
Oracle Product Information Management Data Hub – Enables companies to centralise, manage and synchronise all product information with heterogeneous systems and trading partners.
Oracle Customer Hub – Centralises, de-duplicates and enriches customer data, continuously synchronising with other data sources across the enterprise, to provide a single, accurate, authoritative source of customer information throughout the enterprise.
Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub – Allows companies to control the financial consolidation process by integrating and automating data synchronisation, currency translation, inter-company eliminations, acquisitions and disposals.
“Clean, consolidated and accurate master data distributed throughout the enterprise can save companies millions of dollars annually. With Oracle, organisations are equipped to leverage the best data management practices available today to help dramatically increase operating efficiencies, improve customer loyalty and ensure corporate governance.
MDM solutions provide the ability to consolidate and federate disparate systems and lines of business into one central data repository. Acxiom is the world's largest processor of consumer data and collects and manages more than a billion records a day for its customers, which include nine of the country's top ten credit-card issuers and most major retail banks, insurers and automakers. By integrating Acxiom's consumer data with Oracle's comprehensive MDM solutions, Oracle plans to provide customers with a pre-packaged, content-enriched customer information repository with unprecedented levels of data quality. This hybrid approach to customer data management will help clients conduct better, faster and easier MDM projects and perform more targeted marketing campaigns to cross-sell and up-sell into existing customer accounts.
Oracle's MDM solutions serve as a customer data hub to unify customer data across multiple business units and functionally disparate systems. Oracle's comprehensive functionality manages customer data over the entire lifecycle: from capturing customer data, to cleansing addresses and spelling, identifying potential duplicates, consolidating duplicates, enhancing customer profiles with external data and distributing the authoritative customer profile to the operational systems.

  • Call RFC Function Module and return 1000 records at a time

I would like to call a Remote Enabled Function Module from a non SAP system.  This function module will select data from the database and return it to the calling program.
Suppose there are 100,000 records that need to be returned, but the calling module would like the data in chunks of 1000 records.  Therefore the calling program would call the FM 100 times.
How do I code the function module to know on each subsequent call to grab the next chunk of 1000 records?
Let me know if additional information is needed.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hello,
Here is how you can go for this issue:
    1. Create one RFC function module with following parameter. These parameters are with respective of chunking logic.
         Import: Package Size
         Export: Total number of records
         Changing: chunk count
    Implement following logic:
    1. First of you need to know how many chunks you need to fetch for that get the count of total number of records. This is one
time activity so you better maintain one flag import parameter will be set to 'X' only first call.
    2. Get the number of chunk using total number of records / chunk size for e.g. 1000 / 100 so chunk count = 10.
    3. Define internal chunk counter in function module which will be used to locate the correct chunk depending on the chunk
counter value sent from calling program.
    4. Send first call with package size 100 and chunk count = 1, execute select statement and increment internal
chunk count check if chunk count = internal chunk count in current case chunk count = 1 so exit select statement and return
        with first chunk.
    5. Send second call with package size 100 and chunk count = 2. Execute select statement and check chunk count with internal
chunk counter, in current case it will be 1 so skip that data and go for next chunk of 100 records increment internal chunk
counter. In this case it will match with external chunk count = 2. load output table with that data and return to calling program.
    6. Repeat step 4 until you reach last chunk.
You need to use SELECT...ENDSELECT with PACKAGE SIZE addition so for every loop it will return number of records mentioned in package size.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Augustin.

    BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
Execute external Commit when using BAPIs
This method executes a COMMIT WORK command. It is required for
transactions developed externally to the R/3 System that change data in
the R/3 System via BAPI calls.
When you call BAPIs in your program that change data in the R/3 System,
afterwards you must call this method to write the changes to the
    database.
    COMMIT WORK
The statement COMMIT WORK completes the current SAP LUW and opens a new one, storing all change requests for the currenta SAP LUW in the process
there are some FM that we use for creating trasaction . for example FM : that use for creating production order . if you execut the FM , the system will not create any data in the system so you need to excute the FM : BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to commit that creating the production order .
in case of commit work, that is a syntax in abap program . if you use this syntax after you insert ,update or delete table in the sap ,system will do it immediately otherwise the system will do it after execution is complete.
    ROLLBACK WORK.
for confirming or undoing database updates. COMMIT WORK always concludes a database LUW and starts a new one. ROLLBACK WORK always undoes all changes back to the start of the database LUW.

  • SAP R/3 4.6/c and 4.7

hai what is the main diff between both of these to versions can anybody pls list out some differences

    Hi Karnam,
SAP 4.7 was with built in WAS and CIN patches are included and Unicode came into picture in 4.7 onwards.
SAP 4.7 has all the features such as development workbench, transport management system, monitoring, versioning and business object repository of already existing SAP 4.6C.
Web Application Server6.20 of 4.7 includes all the features of SAP Basis of SAP 4.6C.
    <u><b>Differences:</b></u>
SAP 4.7 has a more structured approach as compared to SAP 4.6C from a technical perspective. It is based on mySAP.com technology, which is actually the Web Application Server 6.2C. This not only includes SAP Basis Technologies with their latest advancements but also the new features of SAP Web AS 6.20.
SAP 4.7 is more structured even from a functional perspective as this version has been developed after functional and infrastructure developments of earlier SAP R/3 4.6C.
In SAP 4.7 the functional and infrastructure developments are made on separate levels. The functional developments are made in the Enterprise Extensions and infrastructure developments are made in the Enterprise Core unlike SAP 4.6C in which both the developments take place within the systems.
SAP in its Web AS has additional enhancements in the form of package concept, global parameterization with business configuration sets, Unicode compliance and accessibility that are not present in 4.6C.
SAP 4.7 Core supports the above-mentioned enhancements that SAP 4.6C does not.
SAP 4.7 unlike 4.6C has Enterprise Extensions that can be separately deployed and have their own releases.

  • Using Standard SAP Tables in SAP Tables, clusters or functions connections

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to use Standard SAP table like MARA, MAKT.. etc. in my crystal designer. When i make a new connection using SAP tables, Cluster or Functions, these tables are not listed.
Any configuration i have to maintain to list those standard table.?
    With Regards,
    Balachander.S

Due to performance reasons there is  a limitation regarding the number of the dispplayed table names. Once you are in the connection/table browser select a table and invoke the context menu by pressing the right mouse button. Select Options and in the options panel you can use wildcards in order to limit the results to the desired range (eg. use MA% to get a list of tables starting with MA). After you close the options panel press F5 and expand the connection entry again.

  • Error in material mapping  between R/3 and CRM

    Dear community,
In our landscape we have a SAP CRM system (Release 4, SP10) and a SAP R/3 system (Release 6.20). We try to create a mapping for a standard R/3 field, from the material master with a custom defined attribe on the CRM.
The material field is the <b>Old Material Number</b> (MARA-BISMT) which exist on the standard sap interface. When we try to change or create a material then an error occured on the BDocs with the following error messages :
      1. Change data on set ZPRODUCT_INFO in the original system CRTCLNT400
      2. Validation error occurred: Module COM_PRODUCT_MAT_VALIDATE, BDoc type PRODUCT_MAT.
The development that have been made is based on known SAP guide with title "<b>CRM Products: Customer Enhancements for Downloading and Uploading Product Master Data</b>".
Does anyone know how we can solve the problem ?
      Thanks in advance

    Hello John,
Sorry I can't help you with your problem. I'm having problems getting hold of the document that you mention: "<b>CRM Products: Customer Enhancements for Downloading and Uploading Product Master Data</b>" It used to be in the service market place and is referenced on a number of OSS notes. But is no where to be found.

    Hi Experts,
How to do mapping between Sync sender and Async Receiver?
Flow: Sync SOAP Sender Client -> First Async webservice call -> Second Sync webservice call
    1. I have to send some input/request details to first webservice call. It will just update the database. If I do mapping with SOAP Sender client and first Async webservice.. I am getting timeout, because it expects response mapping too.
    2. Only Second webservice call return the response back to SOAP Sender client. Here mapping between SOAP Sender client and Second Sync webservice call. I don't have any problem here.
