String not flushing

I am reading in several urls from the console and writing them to a text file, however when i view the file i have several copies of data, i dont think i am flushing the writter correctly. Here is the code snippett.
while(i!=0){
                 System.out.println("enter url:"+ i);
                  String url = bufferRead.readLine();
                  URL go = new URL(url);
                   BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(go.openStream()));
                   while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
                        text.append(inputLine);
                        in.close();
                        int beginRow = text.indexOf("<td>");
                        newtext = text.delete(0,beginRow);
                        int endofRow = newtext.indexOf("<tr>");
                        newtext = newtext.delete(0, endofRow);
                        // delete end of table to end of file
                        int tablend = newtext.indexOf("</tbody>");
                        int pageLength = newtext.length();
                        newtext = newtext.delete(tablend,pageLength);
                       String newtext2 = newtext.toString();                                   // cast newtext to string
                         String Test= newtext2.replaceAll("<a\\b[^>]*href=\"[^>]*>",""); // remove first part of href
                         String Test2= Test.replaceAll("</a>","");                       // remove lower case end of href
                         String Test3= Test2.replaceAll("</A>","");                      // remove upper case end of href
                         String Test4= Test3.replaceAll(",", "");
                        //System.out.print(Test3);               // test string to check all <\a> tags removed
                        Pattern p = Pattern.compile("<td>([^<]*)</td>");  // retrieve all text between td tags
                       Matcher m = p.matcher(Test4);
                       int t = 0;
                       while(m.find())
                           t++;
                         // get the matching group
                         String codeGroup = m.group(1);
                         // print the group
                      // System.out.format("%s",codeGroup);
                       //System.out.print(",");
                       writer.append(codeGroup);
                       writer.append(",");
                       writer.flush();
                       if(t == 15){
                            //System.out.println("");
                            writer.append("\n");
                             t = 0;
                 i = i -1;
{code}

why would you think the input stream is a problem? You read until it is empty.
I am going to be a bit not solving you problem here but....
1) please indent properly and consistently.
2) while not required brackets are a very good thing for code clarity.
Why do you think the flush is not occurring?
It appears you have commented out lines of code to validate you actually have data to put out, but you do not state that you have run with it and that it has valid output.
Are you sure you want group(1) and not group()?

    Hi,
    Here is a simple test case program I used based on your description:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <stdlib.h>

    #include "sqlite3.h"

         error_handler(m_pDB);
         sqlite3_exec(m_pDB, "CREATE TABLE [TBLClientAccount] ( [ClientId] CHAR (36), [AccountId] CHAR (36) );", NULL, NULL, &errors);

    dd|dddI do not see where the issue is. The data can be successfully retrieved, it is present in the database.
    Could you try putting in the sqlite3_close() call and see if you still get the error?
    Did you remove the __db.* files from the SourceDB_912_1.db-journal directory?
    Did you use PRAGMA synchronous, and if so, what is the value you set?
    If this is still an issue for you, please describe in more detail the exact steps needed to get this reproduced and provide a simple stand-alone test case program that reproduces it.

  • System.out will not flush before input

    Hello everyone,
    I am using Netbeans 5.5, JDK6, and J2EE. I am new to the environment so I wrote a test application that would prompt a user to enter a string and then echo it. I have:
    String str = "";
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new nputStreamReader(System.in));
    System.out.print("Enter a string: ");
    System.out.flush();
    try
    str = br.readLine();
    catch(IOException ex)
    System.out.print(ex.toString());
    System.out.print(str);
    What is really bizarre is that System.out will NOT flush no matter what. My application will always ask for input before it even prompts the user for the string. This is what the output looks like when running:
    init:
    deps-jar:
    compile:
    run:
    hello
    Enter an string: hello
    BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 5 seconds)
    Notice how I had to enter the string first? The only way that I have seen that it flushes is if I used println() instead of print. But what if I don't want the prompt to have an end line in it. This just seems like weird behavior. Also, I have tried using a Scanner for input and the results are the same. Not really sure what to do. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

    are you running this inside netbeans as well? the "console" view in netbeans (and eclipse, and probably other IDEs) is not a real console, it's a GUI component that the IDE writes to. it's behaviour isn't guaranteed to act like a real console. I've seen this sort of thing on eclipse before, but never used netbeans. but it still stands that an IDE's console view isn't an actual console/terminal window. that may well be the root of the problem

  • 5.0 won't work - extensions message is "localized string not found".  When I force it to try to load a new window it shows a gray screen with the bookmarks on top then immediately closes and wants to report the error. Has been this way since 5.0 came out.

    I first tried downloading Safari when the 5.0 update came out last year.  When I choose the app in the dock, I get the blue top bar (Safari, File, etc) but nothing else loads.  I uninstalled the app and tried again several times, but no success. For over a year now I've used Firefox as a result.  Today I thought I'd try again, but same results.  When I choose "new window" in the file menu, I get a small gray window with my bookmarks on top, then in a few seconds, the app quits unexpectedly and the report an error screen appears.  I've unchecked all the languages in the information area for the app, cleared all history, cookies, and cache.  Still the extensions tab in the preferences area has "LOCALIZED STRING NOT FOUND" in 4 places.  It won't show what that means when I click the "?".  Will I ever be able to use Safari again?

    Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

  • Moving datafiles to a new location: change not flushed

    Hi all,
    I am using Oracle 10g release 10.2.0.1.0 patched 10.2.0.3.0
    I need to move all datafiles of the DB from a current location to a new one. Here are the steps I follow (I use SPFILE):
    1-Shutdown the DB
    2-Move all .DBF .LOG .CTL files to the new location
    3-startup mount
    4-alter database rename file 'old location' to 'new location' ; ... for all .DBF and .LOG files
    5-alter system set control_file=<list of CTL files in new location>
    6-alter system set core_dump_dest=<new empty location for cdump>
    7-alter system set user_dump_dest=<new empty location for udump>
    8-alter system set background_dump_dest=<new empty location for bdump>
    9-alter database open
    From this point, if I use select * from v$logfile or select name from v$datafile or show parameter, I see that the DB is using all files in the new location. That's correct.
    My problem is: if now, I issue a shutdown followed by a startup, the DB will then show the old location for files as if my updates (steps 1 to 9) were not flushed/commited.
    Is there a kind of commit to have my changes taken into account ? How may I resolve my problem ?
    Thanks for any help.

    This does not work:
    1-Shutdown the DB
    2-startup mount
    3-alter database rename file 'old location' to 'new location' ; ... for all .DBF and .LOG files
    4-alter system set control_file=<list of CTL files in new location>
    5-alter system set core_dump_dest=<new empty location for cdump>
    6-alter system set user_dump_dest=<new empty location for udump>
    7-alter system set background_dump_dest=<new empty location for bdump>
    (So changes are now in the old location)
    8-shutdown
    8-copy all .DBF .LOG .CTL files to the new location
    9-startup
    ... because when the alter database statement is issued, oracle does not find the file in 'new location'. So the correct sequence with the spfile is:
    1-Shutdown the DB
    2-copy all .DBF .LOG to the new location. Do not copy the .CTL files at this step.
    3-startup mount
    3-alter database rename file 'old location' to 'new location' ; ... for all .DBF and .LOG files
    (Oracle finds them in the new location)
    4-alter system set control_file=<list of CTL files in new location> scope=spfile
    5-alter system set core_dump_dest=<new empty location for cdump> scope=spfile
    6-alter system set user_dump_dest=<new empty location for udump> scope=spfile
    7-alter system set background_dump_dest=<new empty location for bdump> scope=spfile
    (CTL are still in old location but contain information about the new location)
    8-shutdown
    9-copy all .CTL files to the new location
    10-startup
    Many thanks to you all for your help.

  • Error(23,19): method getName(java.lang.String) not found in class javax.swi

    Hi , when i try to run my program, i keep getting the error msg:
    Error(23,19): method getName(java.lang.String) not found in class javax.swing.JTextField
    I have checked the java API and it inherits from the awt.Component class and should be accessible via the jtextfield.
    I have tried the following:
    trying to initailise the JTextField at the start.
    Using getName works if i use it within the loop after setting the name.
    Does anybody know what i am doing wrong please?
    public class clsMember extends JPanel implements ActionListener {
        private JButton jbtnLog;
        private String surname;
        private JTextField txtItem;
        public clsMember() {
            super(new SpringLayout());
            makeInterface();
            surname = txtItem.getName("Surname").toString();
    private void makeInterface() {
         //code omitted
               for (int i = 0; i < numpairs; i++) {
                JLabel l = new JLabel(strLabels, JLabel.LEADING);
    this.add(l);
    //if the array item is salutation create a combobox
    if (strLabels[i] == "Salutation") {
    jcomSalutation = new JComboBox(strSalutation);
    jcomSalutation.setSelectedIndex(0);
    this.add(jcomSalutation);
    } else {
    txtItem = new JTextField(10);
    l.setLabelFor(txtItem);
    txtItem.setName(strLabels[i].replaceAll(" ", "")); //this is where the label is set and if i do a system.out it shows fine. getName works here too.
    this.add(txtItem);
    //code omitted

    If i have a loop that creates the jtextfields such as
                    txtItem = new JTextField(10);
                    l.setLabelFor(txtItem);
                    txtItem.setName(strLabels.replaceAll(" ", ""));
    this.add(txtItem);How is it then possible to assign to a string the value of a *specific jtextfield*. Lets say that one of these JTextfields has the name surname.
    How is it possible for me to writeString surname = surnamejtextfield.getText();

  • Create Business Partner from XMl String not a file

    Hi,
    Is it possible to create a BP from an XML string.
    I know about GetBusinessPartnerFromXml(string FileName, int index)
    but I dont want to save the string in a file before creating a BP from it
    Hope there's a method to do that

    Marc,
    This looks like it is a duplicate of this post, so I am closing this thread as it looks like you answered your own question!

  • Localized string not found & menu will not display in Vista

    I have had an issue since late version 3 on my Vista Home Premium PC, when I installed a new copy and started seeing no menu, and the bookmarks and right-clicks respond with "Localized string not found..."
    I have tried the cleanup in a previous message in this forum - to delete the safari folders c:\users\xxx\appdata\Local\ - once I reinstall the current version, I have the same issue. I see the previous query was closed, or I would have replied to that.
    I am testing software for a web-based application, and we support Safari, so this is pretty important that we solve this - though I would be happy as a clam to drop support for Safari on the PC - that likely isn't going to happen. I have had no such issues on my G4 running OSX 10.4.

    Thanks!
    Okay ... I suspect that one of the en.lproj folders (English language resource files) for your Safari or your Apple Application Support has been blown up. So we'll try swapping out both your Safari and your Apple Application Support, taking a few other explicit precautions along the way, just in case. Best to print out a copy of these instructions, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    First download and save a copy of the SafariSetup.exe (installer file) from the Apple Website. Don't run the install online and don't start the install from the SafariSetup.exe just yet.
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    Quit iTunes and/or QuickTime if you have them installed and running. (They both use Apple Application Support and can interefere with the Apple Application Support uninstall if you have them running.
    Now head into your "Uninstall a program" control panel. Uninstall safari. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
    (If you get any error messages during the uninstalls, halt proceedings and post back to let us know what they say. Precise text, please.)
    Next, we'll clear away any leftover program folders and files.
    Go "Start > Computer".
    In "Computer", open "Local Disk C:" or whichever drive your program files are installed on.
    Open the "Program files" folder.
    Right-click on the "Safari" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
    Right-click on the "Apple Application Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Empty your recycle bin and restart the PC. (If iTunes is installed on the PC, you'll probably receive a message at this stage saying that iTunes will not run because Apple Application Support is missing. Click through the message.)
    (If you get any error messages during the program files/folders deletions, halt proceedings and post back to let us know what they say. Precise text, please.)
    After the PC restarts, do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now shut down all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
    Now start the Safari reinstall by doubleclicking the SafariSetup.exe you downloaded earlier. (This should also reinstall Apple Application Support.)
    Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
    Did the reinstall go through okay? If so, do you have your Safari right-click contextual menus back again?

    I am trying to use the tune_mview package. I am setting up variables in sqlplus to use when calling the package. I am using the following to set the entire create Mview staement into a variable, but am getting a ORA-01756: quoted string not properly terminated. I can execute the select statement inside the create mview statement, and can execute the create mview statement, but when I try to set the entire statement into a variable I get the error. • ORA-01756quoted string not properly terminated

    Hi
    I am using Oracle11g and also using Vijeo Citect (cicode).Here I am using Cicode as a front end.

    To push the values of tags I wrote this query but it gave following error.Never mind the error. Wrong approach. It is the #1 cause for poor Oracle performance - and not only results in more CPU being burned needlessly, but also resulting in fragmenting the Shared Pool in Oracle that leads to memory allocation errors.
    If you want to use a "black box" database - then Oracle is not it. It is technically one of the fastest and most flexible data processing environments on this planet. It expects you to have the basic Oracle concepts and fundamentals under the belt, in order to be used correctly.
    And one of these basic and fundamental concepts is creating shareable SQL, using bind variables.
    Refer to the Oracle® Database Performance Tuning Guide.

  • The "Localized String not Found" thing..

    has cropped up on my system. I have searched the forum and have read the K Tilfords post on the subject. I was going to reply to that thread but it has been locked.
    Anyway, in that post it states:
    "Normally the problem is very specific, within the WebKit.framework. The System>Library>Frameworks>WebKit.framework>Versions>A>Resources folder should have the folder English.lproj, but it's probably missing. If the English.lproj folder is present, then the Localizable.strings file within it is missing."
    However, when I checked my system, the English.lproj folder is present. And, within English.lproj that Localizable.strings file is present as well.
    Yet, I have the "Localized String Not Found" issue.
    Thanks for reading. Help!

    No responses, so I'll update where things are.
    After reading more in the forums, I decided to trash Safari and reinstall. So, I got rid of all things Safari, repaired permissions and restarted. Inserted my Tiger Install CD to do a Custom Install for the Safari app only but I get hung up on "Select Destination", before even reaching Custom Install.
    It tells me since I have Tiger install, I need to modify my destination.
    Any help or ideas appreciated.
    Thanks
