StringIndexOutOfBoundsException on HelloWorld example

Hi,
I've built the OpenMQ system on Centos 5.2 (64 bit), as described in the build/install instructions, and I'm trying to run the HelloWorld example.
I'm getting a StringIndexOutOfBoundsException and have no idea where to start... the exception tree follows:

If you do telnet <broker-host> <broker-port> what do you get ?
Could you please provide the broker version information at the beginning of the broker log ?
Can you reproduce this with MQ build from OpenMQ website binary download ?

    i can see that some Lc fields have data but all the Le fields have 00..
    does this mean that the response apdus carry no data??
    if so why this happen??
    shouldnt it echo back something?
    can anybody clear this to me?
    thanks a lot in advance!!!!!

    In the previous u have replied "You now have to issue apdu commands for the hello world applet"
    here what ur meant to say, hope it is command apdu to the card if so pls tell us how to supply command apdu to the card. Do we write the seperate host application that includes ctlistener classes, service classes etc., ?

  • IDLJ - HelloWorld example code problem

    Hello,
    i have a problem to get the CORBA HelloWorld example code
    running.
    compiling worked well, but as i started the HelloServer class
    the java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError Exception is thrown
    with Unsupported major.minor version 50.0.
    i've compiled the code with jdk 1.6.0,
    classpath is set to
    /usr/local/jdk1.6.0/jre/lib/:.
    any help would be great,
    thx in advance,

    i think i did as i set the classpath to
    /usr/local/jdk1.6.0/jre/lib/:.
    i did also try to set it directly to the rt.jar in the subdirectory /jre but
    it didn't work .
    could you please add more detail?
    there's no /usr/local/jre1.6.0 in /usr/local so i thought
    the jre must be the one in the jdk directory.
    Thx

  • JSAPI : Problems with the speech recognition HelloWorld example

    I just started off with JSAPI. And I immediately ran into problems. These are the configurations and the stuff I did:
    My system:
    OS: WinXP
    JDK: JDK 6 Update 10
    IDE: Netbeans 6.0
    I downloaded the FreeTTS.zip from the FreeTTS site [http://freetts.sourceforge.net/docs/index.php] . I expanded it and in the lib folder I ran the jsapi.exe and as a result jsapi.jar war generated.
    I included this jar in my project lib as jar.
    Then I copy pasted HelloWorld speech recognition example code given in the site : [http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/speech/forDevelopers/jsapi-guide/Recognition.html#11644]
    First it gave a compile time error that
    rec.deallocate();throws an exception which needs to be handled. Accordingly I surrounded it with a try catch block and caught the exceptions in the manner given below:
       try{
             rec.deallocate();
                        System.exit(0);
                    } catch (EngineException ex) {
                        Logger.getLogger(HelloWorld.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
                    } catch (EngineStateError ex) {
                        Logger.getLogger(HelloWorld.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    Now the code was compiling without problems.
    When I executed the code a runtime exception (NullPointerException) was thrown at the line
          rec.allocate();  in the psvm(String args[])
    Can anybody please explain to me where I am going wrong? Or is there something more that needs to be added in the code?
    Anxiously waiting to hear from your end.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi All,
    I am using following code
    import javax.speech.*;
    import javax.speech.synthesis.*;
    import java.util.Locale;
    public class HelloWorld {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              try {
                   // Create a synthesizer for English
                   Synthesizer synth = Central.createSynthesizer(
                        new SynthesizerModeDesc(Locale.ENGLISH));
                               synth.waitEngineState(Synthesizer.ALLOCATED);
                   //Synthesizer synth = Central.createSynthesizer (null);
                   // Get it ready to speak
                   synth.allocate();
                   synth.resume();
                   // Speak the "Hello world" string
                   synth.speakPlainText("Hello, world!", null);
                   // Wait till speaking is done
                   synth.waitEngineState(Synthesizer.QUEUE_EMPTY);
                   // Clean up
                   synth.deallocate();
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    }and i am also getting following error
    java.lang.NullPointerException
            at HelloWorld.main(HelloWorld.java:18)My class path is set to
    jsapi.jar (extracted from freetts 1.2.1)
    freetts.jar
    Please i didn't find any solution from past replies so please do help me someone to solve this...
    Thanking You....

  • Help with helloworld example

    Hi,
    I'm new to web services. I downloaded and tried the helloworld program. it worked fine. To figure out how everything works, i copied all the files from the tutorial, deleted which I thought was not necessary and tried to compile and deploy the service. but it is not working.
    It is not creating any class files.
    It says 'RmiModeler error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException' in run-wscompile. (I think its tied to prev one)
    And 'XML reader error: java.io.EOFException' in run-wsdeploy.
    can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong.
    Thank you.

  • HelloWorld example

    Hello,
    {Apologies if this has been answered earlier.  I saw a similar thread
    earlier but I think I did all the steps as defined in the thread as well
    as the documentation....}
    When I run the HelloWorld rmi_iiop example my client fails when trying
    to locate the HelloWorld server. In the HelloClient.java it is stalling
    on the line:
    // resolve and narrow to RMI object
    obj = nc.resolve(path);
    During WLS startup you can see the rmi server being registered:
    Wed Jul 19 07:52:37 EDT 2000:<I> <WebLogicServer> Invoking main-style
    startup hello examples.rmi_iiop.hello.HelloImpl
    But when I look at the console under the RMI servers I see nothing.
    I added a finally method to the server and put a println within it to
    see if the server was be collected. I also did a force garbage
    collection just in case it might be delaying the garbage collection....

    NT 4.0 sp6

    After creating a new ior with the utils in service pack 4 along with the modification of the weblogic.properties file I was able to make this work with the JDK 1.3 orb.

  • HelloWorld Example Not Working

    Hi,
    I am using JCDK 2.2.2.
    Converter and scriptgen run without errors from C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\samples (which is the existing samples directory):
    converter -classdir "C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\samples\classes" -exportpath "C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\api_export_files\;C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\samples\classes\com\sun\javacard\samples\HelloWorld\javacard" -applet  0xa0:0x0:0x0:0x0:0x62:0x3:0x1:0xc:0x1:0x1 com.sun.javacard.samples.HelloWorld.HelloWorld com.sun.javacard.samples.HelloWorld 0xa0:0x0:0x0:0x0:0x62:0x3:0x1:0xc:0x1 1.0
    scriptgen -o HelloWorld.scr ./classes/com/sun/javacard/samples/HelloWorld/javacard/HelloWorld.capI run cref from C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\bin:
    cref.exe -o HelloWorld.eepromAnd then in another command prompt from C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\bin:
    apdutool C:\java_card_kit-2_2_2-windows\java_card_kit-2_2_2\samples\HelloWorld.scrThe app installs fine. So now I want to test the code. I added a line to the script at the end to selecct the application:
    // Select HelloWorld
    0x00 0xA4 0x04 0x00 0x09 0xa0 0x0 0x0 0x0 0x62 0x3 0x1 0xc 0x1 0x7F;Which is not working (6d00 error)
    Any suggestions why this could be happening? Nothing throws errors except the line to select the app. It can't be a problem with the code, because I am running the sample files that came with the JCDK.
    P.S. I tried 'creating Helloworld' using the line
    0x80 0xB8 0x00 0x00 0x0b 0x09 0xa0 0x0 0x0 0x0 0x62 0x3 0x1 0xc 0x1 0x00 0x7F;But this gave a 6443 error.

    • Cause: An attempt was made to create an applet instance, but the applet code was not installed on the card.
    • Solution: Verify that the applet package has been downloaded to the card.
    Remeber that after the first time you launch cref, you need to tell it where to load the EEPROM file from the last run with -i <file>. You can use the same file for -i and -o to be able to reuse the mask and store new state.
    Cheers,
    Shane

    And the other problem is that you didn't fix the problem from your last thread correctly.

  • HelloWorld, nor any SDK examples work for Me. :(

    Hi there.
    Feebly trying work with the Illustrator CS3 SDK. I wanted to develop an Illustrator plugin, but for now will settle on a simple HelloWorld example. I am hoping someone can just point me in the right direction. Feel I am ready to give up before I even get started. Here are the dilemmas...
    In the SDK docs, none of the tutorials or examples work for me. For the most part, nothing compiles, I get one error after another. The times code actually does compile, Illustrator will not load the plugin.
    I've spent a week or two simply trying to get one of the examples to work, any one of them, or to simply get the HelloWorld example to work, no luck. Spent hours tracking down where things could be breaking, but found no results. I cannot tell if I am getting closer to finding the cause of the problem(s) or if I am working in circles.
    I ask this to anyone so kind to assist. Please step me through a simple HelloWorld example, which actually works on my system. I am happy to, and would provide details of various error messages I get, but I think seeing a simple working example would be the best help.
    Here's are the details.
    Trying to get the HelloWorld example, from the SDK CS3 docs, to work on either the mac or pc. I prefer the pc though.
    - On the mac, using xcode. OSX, the latest. Tried compiling with all minor versions of OSX.xxx too.
    I was able to get the helloWorld example to sort of compile, but it created a folder instead of a plugin, which didn't work.
    - On the pc, using winXP Pro, win32. Computer is up-to-date, service pack 3, a gig of ram, Pentium 4 3.00GHz.
    Using Visual C++ Express 2008, also tried with 2005.
    Here are a few things I tried, in attempt to get the HelloWorld example to work.
    -> Tried addressing all the "gotcha" tips from this site:
    http://www.graphicscode.com/Articles/VCExpressGotchas.html#RC1015
    -> Tried every which way to point the includes to the correct locations. Tried even copying the common library files into the same folder as the project.
    -> Tried saving the resource files in different formats, eg. UTF8, ANSI. Tried different line terminators eg. CR/LF.
    Not only the correct code, but I think what I need most are the correct project settings for Visual C++ Express. Also, there might be something funny going on with how VC++ creates resource files too.
    Appreciate any help.
    Thank you,
    -Justin

    Thanks for the quick reply.
    I am already in the building process. But I have another problem now. I took the latest source files from the site (2.4.16) and followed the instructions at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/xml/ref_xml/xml_win/intro.html
    I follow the instructions in section : Building with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition because I use the express edition.
    But when compiling XercesLib There is a strange error which I cannot find a solution for.

    Is it not possible to compile the latest version with Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition ?

  • Share library created for HellowWorld example can't be loaded

    I created the HelloWorld example on solaris. However, it always fails with exception UnsatisfiedLinkageError "no hello in java.library.path". I printed out the java.library.path property, my library is in the path. My code works if I copied one of java's own shared library to libhello.so, and the library can be loaded. I used Sun workshop compiler and used -G option to create shared library. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Bao

    Please run your program like this,
    java -Djava.library.path="<Path to your DLL>" <Your main class>
    This should work.
    Check whether the method that you are calling from the native interface is available in the DLL.
    Please post some more error.

  • Errors compiling the rmi-iiop example.

    Hello,
    I have WebLogic Server 5.1, jdk1.3, Inprise's Visibroker for Java 4.0
    and Visibroker for C++ 4.0 all on Windows NT.
    I am following the steps on the index.html page in the
    examples/rmi_iiop/hello directory in my weblogic directory. The errors
    occur at step 5 of the section "Build the client".
    The errors are output by the java compiler. They are:
    examples\rmi_iiop\hello\_HelloWorld_Stub.java:17:
    examples.rmi_iiop.hello._HelloWorld_Stub should be declared abstract; it
    does not define bind() in examples.rmiiiop.hello._HelloWorld_Stub
    public class HelloWorldStub extends javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub implements
    HelloWorld {
    ^
    examples\rmi_iiop\hello\HelloImpl.java:12:
    examples.rmi_iiop.hello.HelloImpl should be declared abstract; it does
    not define isa(java.lang.String) in examples.rmi_iiop.hello.HelloImpl
    public class HelloImpl implements HelloWorld {
    Are there issues with jdk1.3? Or have I misapplied some steps?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The problem you are having is that the compiler is picking up another copy of HelloWorld... see if you can run the compiler with verbose turned on and find where it is getting the interface from... or try using javap...So, here is the output when I compile in verbose mode:
