Structural Exception During Auto Imports In MDM

Hi All,
We are facing a problem while auto importing bulk data.
System is throwing structural exception and preventing data from importing automatically.
Is there any way that we could identify which segment in XML is causing this structural exception?
Also if we try to import data manually by loading the XML file, system throws a message "Unknown Exception".
Is there a possibility that some data in XML will be causing this problem?

Hi,
I have checked the settings for the Port and Block on Structural Exception is already set to Yes.
And Save Update did not help either.
Apart from this, Log files for MDIS server points to some error saying ImportRecordSliceInternal471.
So we are now trying to change Slicing Parameter for Import in MDS.ini and see if it still throws exceptions or not.
Please suggest if i could try some other thing also.
Also i have one question as to if this problem could be due to the Data in the XML file because we have so many qualified Table links to be updated along with Main table record values?

I've seen this issue since beta1. The issue seems to be related to a camera setting that stores the files in folders by date. The Folder structure becomes drive>DCMI>10202008>image.ARW
This "no photos found error" I have seen in beta1 LR1 LR1.1 LR1.2 LR1.3 LR1.4 and LR2.0 this is still an issue in LR2.1
Auto import works fine with canon or nikon RAW files (I've used several different cameras with no problems)
The Folder structure for canon files is drive>DCMI>100>image.CR2
Auto import Does not work with Sony A100 .ARW files with folders by date turned on I have heard from people with other Sony cameras like the A700 also have this issue.
Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1
AMD 64X2 duel core 6000+ 3Ghz
6GB 666mhz Ram PAE force enabled
NVIDIA Gforce 7600 256MB video card (1.75GB total with system shared ram)
Primary hard drive: 500GB

I believe this is fixed in version 2.5 and 3.0

Structural Exception thrown during Automatic Import in MDM

Hello Experts,
While importing material records automatically MDM throws a structural exception. When i try importing the same exception file using Import Manager Import status=Ready for Import and the records are imported successfully.
The same Import map and properties when applied on the TEST environment also works properly for both Automatic and Manual import.
Can anyone advice a solution to this.

Hi Jacob,
Just check your source file if any new segment occur or segment value is repeating but ideally it should not because in manual import it will work by ignoring this value where during automiz it gives an error
Also i mention in previous thread provide us MDM server log details snaps when structural exception occure along with date and time information so based on log detail we can provide suggestion

Convert to DNG on Auto Import?

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a way to convert RAW images to DNG during Auto Import? It would speed up my workflow it there were a way to do it.

I can't speak for the original poster, but it would speed up my workflow considerably. To get my RAW photos into my LR Catalog and a copy of the original into a backup directory manual import is less complicated, faster, and can be accomplished without leaving LR
Without Auto Import:
1. Start Lightroom
2. File-->Import photos from Disk
3. Select folder "Camera Import"
4. [Import All folders in Selected Folder]
5. [Import]
5 clicks 0 keystrokes
With Auto Import:
1. Start Lightroom {Auto Import occurs}
2. Ctrl-A (Selects all imported photos)
3. Library-->Convert Photos to DNG
4. [OK]
5. Start-->filesearch "*.cr2 in Folder Pictures"
6. Advanced Search-->Location-->Choose Search Directory-->DefaultUser-->Pictures-->Lightroom
7. [Search]
8. Ctrl-A (Select all), Cut
9. Start-->Pictures-->Backup Directory-->Paste
21 clicks 9 Keystrokes
bwalkerinc, I haven't found anything on the "Import" tab in Preferences that will force DNG conversion on Auto Import. My photos still Auto Import in their original format regardless of any changes made there.

Exception during mapping Execution

Hi Experts
an Matmas05 xml is coming from MDM system. & it should be posted as Matmas05 in R/3.
i imported the MDM content in IR. but the fields order in coming Matmas05 xml file and the fields order in
Matmas05 Idoc are Not same.
while Executing Mapping it throws 'Exception during mapping execution'
so pls give solution How can i solve...this error
pls ....urgent.

HI swapna,
The XMl coming from MDM have the different sequence than the original Matmas05 IDOC that you have imported in IR,.
Lets take it this way as the Original Matmas IDOC structre is not matched up with the sender side Structure.
You can change the sequence of IDOC XSD file with some tools like Altova xmlSpy and make it same as sender side. Then import the modified XSD file as external defination and use it on sender side.
On Receiver side your Matmas05 structre sequence should have to be original one.
Now map the corresponding fields and execute the scenario.

Unknown exception during NsSAX2Reader parse

I'm using java API for Berkeley DB XML 2.4.13 under Windows XP SP2.
I have the following peace of code:

MDIS blocking XML files with Structural exceptions

Hi,
I am importing Article master records into a repository with MDIS. The files are blocking with structural exceptions. I can import the same files fine with the Import Manager - only some extra value mapping has to be done. I have set to MDIS to perform automatic addition of unmapped values, the port is set using the correct map, it is set to inbound and it is using the correct schema for the article records.
Any files that do not import with the MDIS can be imported with the Import Manager. Any ideas?

Hi Keith,
I can see only one cause of the problem taht you are facing.
Probably for the "value mapping" you can make it automatic by setting the MDIS.
You will have to set it as:
1. Automap Unmapped value-- YES
2. Always use Unmapped Value handling- ADD ( this is for adding values which cant be mapped as there as no such values present in MDM).

MDIS - Structural Exception

We are using SAP MDM 5.5. SP6
We are having some issues with our development repository. This repository is not used every day but when we have some testing this is used.
While using MDIS and loading the files, some files will to go exception -> StructuralX folder. When I looked at the console -> Reports, the message was
u201CSome portions of this import map are out of date. Solution: Please, Launch the Import Manager GUI, preferably using the original source file that the map was generated for, otherwise the same source file and Save Update [File->Save Update] the mapu201D
When I use the exception file in the Import manager File->Save Update this file works. But same issue was there with some other file. If we use same File->Save Update for that file then it works.
This issue is not with every files but some files and they are in exception.
What is the permanent solution to this problem?. This issue was not there earlier. We canu2019t handle manually every files has this issue

This is true that Save Update option Saves an update of the current map.
This issue is not with every files but some files and they are in exception.
I would suggest, say you have single file in structure exception folder, take a copy of this file and put it on desktop. So that you have same two files one in exception folder and other on your desktop. Now open file which is in structure Exception folder with MDM Import manager using Port(Exception) and Remote System. Now after mapping missing fields and values go for SAVE UPDATE option so that it saves the update of the current map.
Now take a copy of this desktop file and put it there in Ready folder and check is it going to import successfully or still going to exception folder using MDIS. If it is still going to exception folder then open this same file with Import Manager using option open existing map and go for SAVE option rather than SAVE UPDATE, this will overwrite your this existing map with this new map. Make sure that this exception file contains all the fields which were present earlier. On a safer side, you can go for SAVE option but not on the existing map but can do file save as New Map so that your existing map does not effected. Now using console give this new map name in your port and check. This will resolve your problem.

Structural Exception.. Urgent

Hi MDM Experts,
I have a situation over here wherein I am trying to use the Automatic Import for a XML file through an XML Schema.
XMl Xchema and the port have been mentioned in the port settings. Everything else has also been configured.
But when I place a file in ready Folder it moves into the Structural Exception Folder.
And if I Open the same file through Import Manager Via XML Schema, it shows me, ready to import.
Can somebody tell me, what can be the reason of file moving into Structural Folder. And how should i correct it ?
Please note: The Schema is working fine with Import Manager but not with MDIS.
Help will be appreciated.

Port Blocked on Structural Exception

Hi All,
I am facing one issue in which Inbound Port for auto imports is getting blocked.
Error message in the logs is "CR: 0x80010000 Out of Memory".
Can anyone please throw some light regarding this message and let me know what this means?
This is a Verbose message and setting 0x800 is used for keeping track of ImportX.
Then why is the port blocked on Structural Exception?

It seems there is a high load on MDS causing the first error.
Try connecting through IM manually for the same record.
Also,if there is high data influx it is advisable to optimise port and MDIS parameters accordingly.
I did not get what is your second question but if you are asking why does the port block on structural Exception,then thats a setting which you can or not.But i have seen having exceptions in StrucX badly affects import process.
Also error 0x800 is also related to server being very busy,that may be the case here.

Can you explain your problem a little more in detail
Automatic importing and syndication stops suddenly means is it that after importing or syndicating a file once it does no work again?
If this is your problem then check for the following things:
- After automatic importing of a source file once .MDM places the file automatically in the archive folder.If you wish to reimport the same file it may not work again if in your import map import actio is just create.As once you have imported the fiel based on the primary key in teh matching tab the rec has alredy been imported in MDM so next time this rec will not com eunder th create import action but Update all mapped field option.So if you wish to reimport teh smae rec then change your import action acc or else jsut cahnge th primary field value in the xml and a new rec will be imported.
- As for Syndication,if you have syndicated a file once out of mdm and the suppress unchanged records property is enabled in syndicator then the same records will not be syndicated again untill any field value for those rec change.You will have to disable taht property again if you wnat to resyndicate the same rec or else make any changes in the rec to resesnd it.
- If your issuse is something else and is not solved by this then try checking th import and syndication services on your machin.Go to services.msc and check to see that the import and syndication server is started if not restart it.
- Also check the config file ie mdis.ini and mdss.ini for the valid entries .The delay time for scanning a port.Also check if any exception have occured in the exception folders.

After unarchive a repository, the auto import is not working

Hi All,
I've met a problem when I archived a repository and unarchive it using another repository name:
I can login to it by Console, and Data manager, etc. But when I put a input file to the Ready folder of its port, the file is not processed by the Import Server. On the other hand, all the other repositories on that server remain fine and the auto-import is normal.
Could any one tell me if there is any other Config shold be done to make the import work?
PS: still the 5.5 version, not 7.1.

Hi Angela,
If you are using any password for Admin user then same needs to be mentioned in MDIS.ini file. Check the below steps
1. Open MDIS.ini file located in <MDM Insallation directory>/Import Server
2. Navigate to your repository section
3. Remove the character 'E' from the entry PasswordE
4. Write the password of Admin user i.e. Password = abc
5. Restart the Import Server once and check the same password entry, it should get converted to PasswordE and the value should be some characters.
6. Now check the Auto Import

Error - "Exception during parsing of upload document"

Hi,
I am getting following error when trying to upload data with my custom integrator:
"The upload process has completed with errors. Press Close to return to the document and fix the errors.
Upload processing did not complete
Exception during parsing of upload document"
My custom integrator was created for UPDATE mode with view AP_HOLDS_V and Release_Holds API. I also added Standalone Query (to limit downloaded data to not released holds and user releaseable). Layout contains only API parameters fields (however I had some context fields, but error message was the same then).
I am quite new to Web ADI and I still don't have full understanding, maybe someone can also answer following questions:
- what is mapping needed for? is this to map view/table fields with the layout field?
- how does integrator know which layout field should be mapped with parameters of API?
- is there no web adi template to modify columns assigned to interface? is this only possible with UPDATE commands?
- where is bne log file stored?
I would appreciate if someone can help. I was even debugging VBA macro to see if that error is on client or server side, but it looks like it is on the server side.

How do I stop iMovie 11 auto importing from external HD?

Okay, I'm going crazy. I, the intrepid Googler, have so far been unable to find the answer to this question. Please somebody help me!
I have hundreds of video clips stored on an external hard drive. However, when I crank it up, iMovie exceptionally irritatingly starts auto-importing every single clip back onto my MacBook's hard drive. No! No! NOOOO! That's NOT what I want! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! I only want to import ONE video of MY choice at a time to edit and then save it back to the external drive, I don't have enough ROOM for ALL of them on the internal drive, you crazy machine!!!!
So. I go into iMovie preferences, where I'd expect to see an option for turning off auto import. Nope. I cannot see anything there. Do I have menu blindness? Am I losing my mind?
Then I Google 'how to stop iMovie 11 from auto-importing from external hard drive and find nothing. Am I alone in this? Surely not. Am I being a dunce? Possibly.
Advice, anyone?

Okay. Please ignore the above. I was being a dunce. Today, it appears not to be doing it any more. Bizarre. LOL!
