Hi Guys,
Can you pls give me the basic structure of the DT that I need to create for Stored Procedure Call?

Raj, in my scenario, I am inserting the data as it is from source to target. Now the table has 20 fields and each field will receive data. So will I have the structure like this:
<StatementName5>
<storedProcedureName action=” EXECUTE”>
    <table>realStoredProcedureeName</table>
<param1 [isInput=”true”] [isOutput=true] type=SQLDatatype>val1</param1>
<param2 [isInput=”true”] [isOutput=true] type=SQLDatatype>val1</param2>
<param3 [isInput=”true”] [isOutput=true] type=SQLDatatype>val1</param3>
.(20 times)
</storedProcedureName >
  </StatementName5>
Also what is 'isInput' and 'isOutput' and how do they work.
Thanks,
XIer

    Hi,
    Check your DATA TYPE attributes with the attributes of the column names in the Database table.  There is a mismatch between the DT and Table in the database.

  • How to get RECORD data in output parameter of stored procedure

    I would like to return some data through RECORD structure from stored procedure.
    I have defined the RECORD as below:
    type ShipmentStatus is record(
    Booked integer,
    OnWater integer,
    OnRoad integer,
    InAir integer,
    OnRail integer,
    InWarehouse integer,
    Idle integer);
    the stored procedure is defined as
    create or replace procedure SP_MC_GET_SHIPMENT_STATUS
    iCustId in nvarchar2,
    oResult out ShipmentStatus
    I can get result in Sql*plus or PL/SQL developer, but I failed in get the result in Toplink.
    How can I get the output result, and convert it to an ENTITY by Toplink?
    Could you give me some advices on how to do mapping, how to call the stored procedure etc.., or code snip?
    Your answer is deeply appreciated. :)

    I'm not sure it is possible to get the PL/SQL record type through JDBC. Please try to access this procedure through JDBC to see if it is possible.
    You may need to convert the record type, to an object-type, i.e. wrap the procedure in another procedure that converts the record type. You could also just wrap the procedure in another that expands the record values into individual output parameters.

  • Stored procedure error in universe structure

    Hi,
    I've inserted a stored procedure in univerese and when i right-click the stored procedure in structure and click table values it is throwing the below error. I am using BO XI R3.1 version and database is MS Sql server 2005. When i checked the connection it is responding.
    Exception:DBD, [Microsoft SQL Native Client]: syntax error, permission violation, or other nonspecific error state: 42000
    Could any one pls help on this issue
    Thanks,
    Eswar

    Guys Thanks for your replies, But I am already aware of all this solutions provided by you.
    The thing I want to bring to your notice is that, in JDBC receiver adapter 'Processing' tab, we have parameter 'Interpretation of Empty String Values'. In PI7.0 even if we select 'NULL Value' the adapter was sending 'Epmty String' instead of Null to database.
    Looks like this issue has been resolved in PI 7.1.
    Is someone aware of this issue???

  • Passing an array of structures to an Oracle stored procedure (CFMX)

    I'm looking to write a Oracle stored procedure where I would pass in an array of structures and loop over each iteration to insert the bits and pieces within the structures to the DB.,
    I haven't written this type of procedure / package before.  I am planning to do an sp / package similar to what is sketched out in the second reply to this thread: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1078772
    Assuming I do, how can I call the procedure from ColdFusion (I'm using MX) and pass in my array?  As far as I can see, none of the CF_SQL_Types make sense.

    Let me know if you make any progress.  I'm fighting the same battle.  What I've done so far is to convert my array of struct into a delimited CLOB that looks like this:
    prop1;prop2;prop3|prop1;prop2;prop3|prop1;prop2;prop3|prop1;prop2;prop3|
    Then I wrote a stored proc to suck it up using a pipelined function.  It's not to bad but parsing the CLOB on the ORACLE side is somewhat time consuming.
    I've also converted the array to XML and used dbms_xmlstore to convert but, on large arrays, it is very slow and the CLOB gets huge fast.
    I was hoping to use the cf_sql_refcursor but I can't figure out how.

  • XML structure in SAP XI for receiving output para of AS400 stored procedure

    Dear all,
    I submit a stored procedure of AS/400 via SAP XI with JDBC adapter by using below XML format. I try to define two output parameters at the end of this XML. How to get the return value ? Should I define a response message type ? and what is the XML format ?

    </update>
    </ns0:MT_SYN_t1>

    Send a message to DB, that you see how the response looks like.

  • Return records from Stored Procedure to Callable Statement

    Hi All,
    I am createing a web application to display a students score card.
    I have written a stored procedure in oracle that accepts the student roll number as input and returns a set of records as output containing the students scoring back to the JSP page where it has to be put into a table format.
    how do i register the output type of "records" from the stored function in oracle in the "registerOutParameter" method of the "callable" statement in the JSP page.
    if not by this way is there any method using which a "stored function/procedure" returning "record(s)" to the jsp page called using "callable" statement be retrieved to be used in the page. let me know any method other that writing a query for the database in the JSP page itself.

    I have a question for you:
    If the stored procedure is doing nothing more than generating a set of results why are you even using one?
    You could create a view or write a simple query like you mentioned.
    If you're intent on going the stored procedure route, then I have a suggestion. Part of the JDBC 2.0 spec allows you to basically return an object from a CallableStatement. Its a little involved but can be done. An article that I ran across a while back really helped me to figure out how to do this. There URL to it is as follows:
    http://www.fawcette.com/archives/premier/mgznarch/javapro/2000/03mar00/bs0003/bs0003.asp
    Pay close attention to the last section of the article: Persistence of Structured Types.
    Here's some important snippets of code:
    String UDT_NAME = "SCHEMA_NAME.PRODUCT_TYPE_OBJ";
    cstmt.setLong(1, value1);
    cstmt.setLong(2, value2);
    cstmt.setLong(3, value3);
    // By updating the type map in the connection object
    // the Driver will be able to convert the array being returned
    // into an array of LikeProductsInfo[] objects.
    java.util.Map map = cstmt.getConnection().getTypeMap();
    map.put(UDT_NAME, ProductTypeObject.class);
    super.cstmt.registerOutParameter(4, java.sql.Types.STRUCT, UDT_NAME);
    * This is the class that is being mapped to the oracle object.
    * There are two methods in the SQLData interface.
    public class ProductTypeObject implements java.sql.SQLData, java.io.Serializable
        * Implementation of method declared in the SQLData interface.  This method
        * is called by the JDBC driver when mapping the UDT, SCHEMA_NAME.Product_Type_Obj,
        * to this class.
        * The object being returned contains a slew of objects defined as tables,
        * these are retrieved as java.sql.Array objects.
         public void readSQL(SQLInput stream, String typeName) throws SQLException
            String[] value1 = (String[])stream.readArray().getArray();
            String[] value2 = (String[])stream.readArray().getArray();
         public void writeSQL(SQLOutput stream) throws SQLException
    }You'll also need to create Oracles Object. The specification for mine follows:
    TYPE Detail_Type IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(1024);
    TYPE Product_Type_Obj AS OBJECT (
      value1  Detail_Type,
      value2 Detail_Type,
      value3 Detail_Type,
      value4 Detail_Type,
      value5 Detail_Type,
      value6 Detail_Type,
      value7 Detail_Type,
      value8 Detail_Type);Hope this helps,
    Zac

    Can anyone pls help me?Thanks.

    You do not need to code an explicit cursor for a single fetch. An implicit cursor is less code to write, read, maintain and execute.
    E.g. Instead of all this:
    CURSOR C2 IS
    SELECT FACILITY_ID FROM TBLADOPT_GROUP_CSC WHERE ADOPT_GROUP = str_Adpt_Grp;
    OPEN C2;
    FETCH C2 INTO Fac_REC;
    Fac_ID := Fac_Rec.FACILITY_ID;
    CLOSE C2;
    Simply code this:SELECT
    Fac_Rec.FACILITY_ID INTO Fac_ID
    FROM BLADOPT_GROUP_CSC
    WHERE ADOPT_GROUP = str_Adpt_Grp;PL/SQL procedure calls have to be made (to Oracle) as anonymous PL/SQL blocks. This means that you need to wrap the procedure call into BEGIN..END tags.
    So instead of coding this:
    OraCmd.CommandText = "APD_MASS_UPLOAD_UNITS"
    You need to code something like:
    OraCmd.CommandText = "BEGIN APD_MASS_UPLOAD_UNITS; END;"
    However, this will not work as APD_MASS_UPLOAD_UNITS expects a bunch of input parameters. And you're on the right track about attempting to bind your Excel variables' values to the PL/SQL procedure's parameters.
    Unsure how ADO works, but typically you can bind by name or by position. Let's assume bind by position (typically in PHP):
    OraCmd.CommandText = "BEGIN APD_MASS_UPLOAD_UNITS( ?, ?, ?, ?, ?. ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?); END;"
    Then you will bind values to positions 1 to 18 (did I count the number of params right?). Something like:
    OraCmd.CreateParameterByPosition( 1, adVarChar, adParamInput, 20)
    Or you can bind by name. E.g.
    OraCmd.CommandText = "BEGIN APD_MASS_UPLOAD_UNITS( :pid, :pcode, ..etc.. ); END;"
    And:
    OraCmd.CreateParameterByName( 'pid', adVarChar, adParamInput, 20)
    Read up on your OraCmd.CreateParameter() to see how to correctly use it.
    A few more comments. 18 parameters in a call is something I would seriously reconsider. It is quite easy to get it wrong - transpose two parameters. It is very difficult to read and check. Very difficult to maintain. It is much safer to rather define a %ROWTYPE structure to pass, or a PL/SQL record structure.
    You are passing date values as VARCHAR2. Rather pass the parameter as the correct data type. E.g.
    create or replace procedure foo( custID number, invoiceDate date )...
    And then when you call it (in your client code), you specify the date string and date format and make it into a date. E.g.
    OraCmd.CommandText = "begin foo( :myCust, TO_DATE(:myDateString,:myDateFormat) ); end;"

    Hello,
    You can schedule an operating system task (Control Panel -> Schedule task) to either call a batch file or a PowerShell script.
    Please read the following resources for examples:

  • Error while compiling a stored procedure

    Hi Expertise,
    I want to have all table names with their column name and tried using below stored procedure and it is throwing some compiler error at "fetch TestCurr into temp2;"
    I am very new to Data base and writing stored procedure and not able to understand how to resolve it. Please anyone help me out to correct it and provide some better idea to achieve my requirement. This is very urgent. One more thing, I want all these data into a log file.
    create or replace
    procedure temp as
    begin
    DECLARE
    cursor C1 IS SELECT COLUMN_NAME FROM user_tab_columns;
    file_id UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
    Temp1 all_tables.table_name%TYPE;
    temp2 user_tab_columns.COLUMN_NAME%TYPE;
    cursor TempCur is Select table_name from all_tables where owner='XSS_ADMIN' order by TABLE_NAME;
    begin
    open TempCur;
    loop
    fetch TempCur into Temp1;
    exit when TempCur%NOTFOUND;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(Temp1);
    declare cursor TestCurr is select COLUMN_NAME from user_tab_columns where table_name= Temp1;
    open TestCurr;
    loop
    fetch TestCurr into temp2;
    exit when TestCurr%NOTFOUND;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(Temp2);
    end loop ;
    close TestCurr;
    end loop;
    Thanks in advance
    R e h a n

    Hi,
    declare cursor TestCurr is select COLUMN_NAME from user_tab_columns where table_name= Temp1;
    open TestCurr;
    loop The Cursor Declarations Should be done in the declaration Section of the PLSQL Block.
    The General Structure of Cursor Declaration is:
    DECLARE
    CURSOR curr IS
    SELECT FROM WHERE;
    rec curr%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
    OPEN curr;
    LOOP
    FETCH curr INTO rec;
    EXIT WHEN curr%NOTFOUND;
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE curr;
    END;
    If Use Multiple Cursor Declaration, then Use the below Structure ,
    DECLARE
    CURSOR curr IS
    SELECT FROM WHERE;
         CURSOR curr_1 IS
    SELECT FROM WHERE;
    rec curr%ROWTYPE;
    rec_1 curr_1%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
    OPEN curr;
    LOOP
    FETCH curr INTO rec;
    EXIT WHEN curr%NOTFOUND;
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE curr;
    END;
    So, You can Fetch the value for the Second Cursor in the LOOP of the First Cursor Statement.
    Or Just Declare a Single Cursor and User FOR-CURSOR LOOP as
    DECLARE
    CURSOR curr IS
    SELECT FROM WHERE;
    rec curr%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
    OPEN curr;
    LOOP
    FETCH curr INTO rec;
    EXIT WHEN curr%NOTFOUND;
         for rec_curr in(select *from where  col_name =rec.col_value)loop
         .............Processing
         end loop;
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE curr;
    END;
    You have ample example available for ,Please have a look at it and Try.. All the Best !!!!!

  • How to call Packaged Stored Procedure in JDBC Adapter?

    hello frnds,

    Hi,
    I have the same problem to call a stored Procedure in a Package.
    If my procedure is not in a package, everything is right.
    And I musn't indicate all the name, because I musn't put '.' in the name (of the procedure), in my DT on XI.
    It would be so nice to have an answer.

  • Drop and recreate table in stored procedure

    Hi all
    When creating tables using Transact-SQL scripts, I have always preferred to drop the table if it exists and then create it explicitly using CREATE TABLE.  For two reasons:
    1) It does not matter if it is the first time the SP is run ie. if I create the table manually in the first instance and just use TRUNCATE TABLE it could fail if the table is deleted
    2) I have control over the data types of the table fields
    Just recently though I discovered the error that can occur when dropping and creating a table in the same batch (see link below)
    Microsoft Website
    This causes me a problem when dropping and creating tables in stored procedures, as I understand that a stored procedure is in itself a single batch?
    Can I avoid this error in a stored procedure whilst continuing to drop and create tables?  Or should I be taking a different approach?
    Coding best practice advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Thanks Ronen
    Please see my second post immediately before your reply.
    Given that I need to store the data output in a physical table for use in QlikView, would you suggest truncating the table each time the SP runs?  And then having a script that handles both dropping and creating the physical table, and also creating
    the SP?
    >> QlikView
    QlikView is an Israeli company, right?
    In any case I am not familiar with QlikView's application, therefore I can only give you general information, based on assumptions regarding the application, and facts regarding the SQL Server.
    >> for use in QlikView
    I assume that external application use specific database structure (table
    structure) and it is change only in rare situations (for example CMS interface might change the tables if and when a module s update/install). In this case there is no need to drop the table and recreate it and TRUNCATE is the solution.
    >> would you suggest truncating the table each time the SP runs
    I am sorry but i cant recommend on TRUNCATE a table each time you execute SP, without know the exact reason for this logic. It sound to me, at this point of time (with the information that we have), that this
    is very bad logic (application architecture). As I wrote above, basing your application on TRUNCATING the table each time mean that you have problems with multi users. Thins about 2 people that try to execute the same SP at almost the same time. Think about
    locking in the SQL Server and bad data (one truncate while the other already inserted the new data and get no rows, if there is no locking).
    But TRUNCATE is much better in this case probably then DROP and DELETE, since it is faster, and locking will be shorter (hopefully the application use the correct locking). There are other reasons why TRUNCATE is better, and other people already mentioned
    most of them, but time in this scenario might be critical.
    >> having a script that handles both dropping and creating the physical table, and also creating the SP?
    I do not undestand what is this second step. we said that you truncate the table, so why do you need to
    dropping and creating the physical table and who
    creating the SP?
    Are you meaning that the application create the tables and SP?
    There are lot of application that during installation create the database structure. is this what you mean?

  • Calling a Stored Procedure with Parameter using an UDF

    Hi All,
      I have a requirement where I need to use database lookup. In that I am calling the Stored Procedure using UDF. For example sp_flow ., for this I have to pass<INTID> and <USDERID> to get the response.

    //Execute Query and get the values in resultset
    resultSet = accessor.execute(Query);

    first of all calling a SP via the lookup API, there is a workaround but it is not at all recommended
    FYI
    /people/arpil.gupta/blog/2008/11/03/workaround-for-jdbc-scenarios - DB Lookup via Stored procedure
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/current/pi/com/sap/aii/mapping/lookup/DataBaseAccessor.html
    The accessor does not support transactional behaviour. Therefore, the method should not be used to execute insert or update statements on the database which can lead to inconsistencies. The accessor should only be used to read data from a database table.

  • Trying to pass array to stored procedure in a loop using bind variable

    All,
    I'm having trouble figuring out if I can do the following:
    I have a stored procedure as follows:
    create procedure enque_f826_utility_q (inpayload IN f826_utility_payload, msgid out RAW) is
    enqopt dbms_aq.enqueue_options_t;
    mprop dbms_aq.message_properties_t;
    begin
    dbms_aq.enqueue(queue_name=>'f826_utility_queue',
    enqueue_options=>enqopt,
    message_properties=>mprop,
    payload=>inpayload,
    msgid=>msgid);
    end;
    The above compiles cleanly.
    The first parameter "inpayload" a database type something like the following:
    create or replace type f826_utility_payload as object
    2 (
    3 YEAR NUMBER(4,0),
    4 MONTH NUMBER(2,0),
    83 MUSTHAVE CHAR(1)
    84 );
    I'd like to call the stored procedure enque_f826_utility_q in a loop passing to it
    each time, new values in the inpayload parameter.
    My questions are:
    First, I'm not sure in php, how to construct the first parameter which is a database type.
    Can I just make an associative array variable with the keys of the array the same as the columns of the database type shown above and then pass that array to the stored procedure?
    Second, is it possible to parse a statement that calls the enque_f826_utility_q procedure using bind variables and then execute the call to the stored procedure in a loop passing new bind variables each time?
    I've tried something like the following but it's not working:
    $conn = oci_pconnect (....);
    $stmt = "select * from f826_utility";
    $stid = oci_parse($conn, $sqlstmt);
    $r = oci_execute($stid, OCI_DEFAULT);
    $row = array();
    $msgid = "";
    $enqstmt = "call enque_f826_utility_q(:RID,:MID)";
    $enqstid = oci_parse($conn, $sqlstmt);
    oci_bind_by_name($enqstid, ":RID", $row); /* line 57 */
    oci_bind_by_name($enqstid, ":MID", $msgid);
    while ($row = oci_fetch_array($stid, OCI_RETURN_NULLS+OCI_ASSOC))
    ++$rowcnt;
    if (! oci_execute($enqstid)) /* line 65 */
    echo "Error";
    exit;
    When I run this, I get the following:
    PHP Notice: Array to string conversion in C:\Temp\enqueue_f826_utility.php on l

    Thanks for the reply.
    I took a look at this article. What it appears to describe is
    a calling a stored procedure that takes a collection type which is an array.
    Does anyone from Oracle know if I can pass other database type definitions to a stored procedure from PHP?
    I have a type defined in my database similar to the following which is not
    an array but a record of various fields. This type corresponds to a payload
    of an advanced queue payload type. I have a stored procedure which will take as it's input, a payload type of this structure and then enqueue it to a queue.
    So I want to be able to pass a database type similar to the following type definition from within PHP. Can anyone from Oracle verify whether or not this is possible?
    create or replace type f826_utility_payload as object
    YEAR NUMBER(4,0),
    MONTH NUMBER(2,0),
    UTILITY_ID NUMBER(10,0),
    SUBMIT_FAIL_BY VARCHAR2(30),
    MUSTHAVE CHAR(1)
    );

  • Invoking ORACLE Stored Procedure

    Hello guys,
    I have an ORACLE stored procedure which I need to invoke. I'm currently unable to invoke the stored procedure since I'm always getting the same error:
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'test.set_pickup' (structure 'STATEMENTNAME'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SET_PICKUP' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement
    I've faced several projects where we needed to invoke stored procedures but these were located in a DB2 or Microsoft SQL Server, and these problems never occured.
    The procedure is set to the minimum, and is now only with one input parameter. I had an input and output parameter but for narrowing the problem I've removed the output.
    The structure for the stored procedure is the one that is referred by SAP or mentioned thousand of times in this forum:
    Statement_name
    StoredProcedureName (attribute ACTION)
      TABLE
      P_TRANSACTION_ID (Attributes isInput, isOutput, type)
    For the basics I'm only filling with one statement.
    I've read some threads with a similar problem but with no response, or solved but with no suggestion on how they solved it.
    Could you please help out?
    Kind regards,
    Gonçalo Mouro Vaz
