here below is the text box created with struts html tag

now the ans, i want is
how to create a check box(both ways-struts html tag and general html)
which on clicked(true) should disable the above textbox
and on clicked(false) should enable the above textbox
i know we should use java script
but pzl specify some code or help for this

Create two objects each for text and check box. and write a method to disable/enable text box. Call this method from with the onChange event generated with teh check box.

it depends on the javascript file you are using as to how you are going to have to do it.. but I would imaging you will have to include the js file like this.

How to populate a java script array from a bean.

Hi all,
I have a list "mdfProductNames" which is further comprising of two fields "subGroup" and "mdfProductName"
The list is coming is a part of the form bean.(struts framework)
Now i want to have the values of these two fields in two different java script arrays.
i.e. Array x -> mdfProductName
and Array y -> subGroup
can someone give me any idea as to how to do this ?

assuming u use jstl, u need to create javascript variable during html generation out of the values got from struts form bean. it could look like this:

How to chek the content type thru java script !!

Hii Guys ,one more prb,
I need to develop a file uploading utility in struts to upload ZIP files(only ZIP), and i sucseeded to do it using the commons.fileupload which comes along with the WSAD5.1(examples), but the prb is i need to chek for the MIME type and need to reject if its not a zip file, if i do this in actionclass, its waiting till the uploading process of the file is finished and finally its displaying file is not the a ZIP, i need to do this validation as the request comes to the server side, i cant not do this in clint side cause my design should not allow me to use any java script..so please let me know is there any way to specify in the controller it self .
if i use java script, how can i do the Content type validation ?

validation?Well, for server side validation, yes you have to wait for the file to upload.
I've always kinda disliked that, since it could be a big file and/or slow connection. But short of possibly using JS to check the filename (and I don't remember if you actually can, and it's not accurate in many case), there's nothing else you can do.

Java script problem

Hai all,
i had a problem regarding java script,i had a time shedule page in which there is a start time and end time for each day,means monday,tuesday......
the problem is when i select monday it shows '0000' in start up but when i de select means change to 'no it will not rest the value to '0000',how can i do this my code is PROBLEM WHEN ONCE SELECTED YES AFTER FIRDAY I WANT TO CHANGE THE TIME OR RESET THE TIME OF SUNDAY TO 'NO' THEN THE DEFAULT VALUE ie "0000" WILL NOT ENTER THE DATA BASE BUT THE ENTERED VALUE HOW WILL I CORRECT IT OR I HAD TO USE AJAX FOR REPOPULATE THE TEXT BOX WITH "0000".and how can i popup a calender insted of this.

How to chcek if Java Script is enabled for the browser

Hi all,
I wanted to know if there was any way to check if Java Scripts is enabled in the browser on which the jsp screen is being displayed. This type of check should be in Java and im working on a struts framework.

There are multiple ways of doing it. Depends on wether you need this information only at the Client (browser) or do you need it at the Server.
In case of Client its trivial. You could do it in HTML:

</div>The first div contains the text "JavaScript is enabled" while the second one says "JavaScript is disabled". The first div is also made hidden. Now, we attach the checkJavaScriptValidity function to the onload event of the page.
<body onload="checkJavaScriptValidity()">checkJavaScriptValidity hides the second div and make the first one active. If JavaScript is enabled you will see the first div which says "JavaScript is enabled". If JavaScript is disabled you will see the second div which says "JavaScript is disabled".

</script>But I guess since you want it to do it in Java, you'll need this information at the Server side as Browsers dont execute Java code. In that case you could just do an HTTP hit from a javascript function on load with information about the current session. But I still do not understand why would need this information at the server side as your purpose seems to be to ask the user to enable Javascript on his browser.

Problem with Html field naming and java script

Java Script which references html fields uses the
notation "document.form[0].field". JATO generates field names which
include the page (view bean). A dot is placed between viewbean name and
field name(viewbean.field). However "document.form[0].viewbean.field"
doesn't work as a reference. I'm not a java script person. Am I
missing something?

I am having trouble with Anchor.htm.
When I try to insert an anchor in the text (Insert > Named Anchor> I get this error message:
"While executing insertObject in Anchor.htm a Java Script error occurred."
I recently downloaded both the 32- and 64-bit Java Script applications when I received a message that the existing version of Java Script was out-of-date. Anchor.htm worked before I installed the update.
The files I downloaded and installed are:
jre-7u9-windows-i586.exe
jre-7u9-windows-x64.exe
Please can anyone help me with this problem?

You have option to read a cell content as html. else you will have to go for SDK. I think you will get better suggestions, if you can explain your requirement in a little detailed manner.

In a Conversion file, Using Java Script - IF statement with Greater,Less definitions

Hail to All Gurus,
Well, I've been trying to make a conversion file by using if statement of Java script with < , > definitions. unfortunately i got "Evolution error" over and over again.
Actually i want to convert all dates before 2009 as 2008.12. And the dates which is greater than 2009 will be converted as they are (e.g. 2009.01 or 2010.02 etc.).
Code is:

OBIEE variables in custom java script

Hello all
Can I use OBIEE variables like presentation and session variables in my custom java script code that I am writing in text view on a dashboard page. Is it possible to do that. please me soon if somebody knows the solution to do that.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
