Struts : Pre populating won't work !!

How come initializing the form parameter in the action before forwarding to jsp does not populate the struts html controls such as html:text ??
in my action (WhatEverAction) class i do that :
myOwnActionForm = (MyOwnActionForm) form;
myOwnActionForm.setCountry("CANADA");in my struts-config i wrote that:
<action path="/whatEverPath"
name="myOwnActionForm"
type="myorg.action.WhatEverAction"
scope="request"
validate="false">

</action>and in the whatEver.jsp

Does the action for the whatEverOtherPath use the myOwnActionForm as well?
Seeing as you are on a form for "whatEverOtherPath" that is the form it will use to populate this page.

Pre-Populating the JSP file

IM following Validtaion.xml for my field level validations
The problem is...i have a comboBox...and that combo box shoudl get prepopulated on the load ..
When i click a link..for example : from the menu...the call will actually fire the actionTag that is coupled with the struts-config file and will fire a action class.
Now once the execute method is called...i have to populate that combo from the same class which will set the attribute in teh request.
So for the first time...my combo box is getting populated using that atttribute values...but when i click on any button , the populated values are getting lost due to the validation.xml gets activated, and the request attributes are lost ...
Since i have a Validtaion frame work...as when i click the submit button ,the control invokes the validation frame work and looses all the pre populated values..
Is thr any one to guide me why this is happening and how to come out of thios pain full situvation.

HT4527 TRIED, TRIED, and TRIED! It won't work!

Now I have tried and
tried and tried to transfer my iTunes library from my old computer to
my new one for over half a year. The methods described here won't
work. Neither does the (few) ones I found on other sites.
I would probably
have taken shorter time to download the music one more time directly
from the 300+ CDs (full format – I do not want compressed) I have
(half with classic music not available at iTunes store, Spotify or
elsewhere), than trying...
Some part of some
instructions here (and otherwise) does not seem to be up to date, or
details is wrong regarding Windows 8.1. Other just don't work. I
have also tried many other ways that my brain can come up with. But
always only one of the CD is found by iTunes.
Maybe Apple want one
to have all in the cloud, but a few 100s of Giggs would probably cost
me a zillion €$£s a month – so it's not an option. Or that
things like this only can work if one has a Mac (although I have
consider buying a Mac, since Windows 8 is horrible, but I have
programs that only exists in versions that runs under Windows).
Unfortunately this
also means that I can not sync my iPod and iPad with the new computer
(since everything on the units will be deleted when synced to a new
computer). And this also prevents me to update to new iOS 8. (I
have all data except music and larger sized pictures in clouds –
although this is sometimes a problem summertime at my summerhouse in
a low populated area with very bad internet possibilities.)
So if someone
actually knows how to do this (from hard drive with files from iTune
version half year ago on XP, to latest iTunes on Windows 8.1 –
PLEACE let me know!
Apple should really
think about this. There should just be a simple import function.
Copyright issues might exist, but it will be no difference than the
methods described here (if they work). [And in Sweden we actually
pay a special tax to copyright holders on storing devices (computers,
hard drives, mobile phones, etc) to compensate for this.]

issues with this page. When typing, it is not possible to go back in
the text and edit. Also I had to type this one more time when the
web page just “died”. All of IE (standard – not metro) just
locks itself and have to be aborted with ctrl+alt+del]

Magic Trackpad won't work with Magic Mouse on brand new 2011 27" i5 iMac

I have a brand new 2011 27" i5 iMac which I bought with Snow Leopard pre-loaded. Naturally, I included the new Magic Trackpad in my purchase, and though there were some problems with the device in SL - such as it going haywire without explanation - it generally worked, although battery levels were erratic (one day 80%, then an hour later 42%, then 80% again).
When I installed Lion I did a clean install after backing up to Time Machine - and a Super Dupered external drive. I had some difficulties trying to install Lion from an external flash drive so I deleted again and reinstalled SL, then reinstalled over the SL install I did (with no other software except Mac OS X 10.6.8 and other system updates to facilitate install). Rather than copying apps from my old SL drive, I downloaded fresh copies and reinstalled one by one. I don't use a lot of apps apart from Microsoft Office, browsers and iLife and have not installed any additional scripts, extensions or add-ons (like USB Overdrive). It's a pretty clean install.
Since then, although I'm generally happy with Lion, the Magic Trackpad won't work! It does work for a little while with basic gestures - mainly moving the cursor and scrolling - then it gives up the ghost and loses connectivity. I have done the following:
Disconnected and reconnected the MTP after turning it on and off. MTP works for about two minutes, goes crazy then no response.
Shut the computer down, pulled out the plug, waited two minutes, then started up again. MTP works for about two minutes, goes crazy then no response.
Run Onyx, shut down computer, then pulled out plug (see above).
Checked options in Universal Access, shut off "Ignore other devices when trackpad in use" (or whatever the option is). MTP works for about two minutes, goes crazy then no response.
Turned off the Magic Mouse. MTP works for about two minutes, goes crazy then no response.
But none of this seems to work! I know the MTP is connected because I can see it in the BT menu in the menu bar and also in System Preferences. I have noticed since upgrading that my permissions - which when I bought the computer were totally clean - now run lines and lines about "Library/Core Services" so I am unsure whether this is related. I also notice a lot of people are in the same boat as me, which makes me wonder if it's either a hardware issue or a release issue - after a week or so of totally silent running, my 2TB Hitachi HDD started up with the grumbly tum. I'd really appreciate any tips from anyone out there!

You could try installing the latest version of the Synaptics driver. Synaptics is the company that makes the UltraNav driver and drivers for many other computer brands. This driver should have the same functionality as the UltraNav driver, so there's no worry there. You can find the driver here.

How to show shuttle component pre-populated with SelectedItems

Well i am trying to get this thing working and literally failed many times.. once the user selects some items in a shuttle... i want to get the selected values and store it somewhere.. Next time when the user logs in for second time the Shuttle should be
pre - populated with the previously selected items .Can anybody suggest me and guide me about how to get this thing working...

How to get the pre-population on modify account page?

Hi,
I am working on OIM 11g R2 PS1 and have a following requirement :
User has to modify his existing email id through a request. User goes to modify account page, where all other fields from process form is hidden and only 'Email Address' field is displayed to the user to modify.
I have to pre-populate the 'Email Address' attribute with some system generated logic on this modify account page. How to achieve that? (either a system generated dynamic label or system generated logic on the email address attribute itself)
Any idea? As per my knowledge we cannot have pre-population on modify page, like we have on create page.
Kindly suggest how to achieve this requirement.

Let me explain in this way:
1) User got some default email address first time, this is not through any request.[e.g [email protected]]
2) Now the user got married and she wants to change her email address as per her new lastname(through a request).[First name: Neha , Last Name : pqr]
3) So she will go to the modify account of the resource and will change her email id, here we have to display an oim suggested email address which is available, on modify page, this logic we will generate through java code.
[oim suggested email address: [email protected]]
That's why we want only on modify page not on create page, as creation of email address is not requestable.

Help - Php just WON't work

I followed these directions and it simply won't work. Help. Why don't you put PHP and MYSQL in the installer itself? This is why I use Apache, and I can't stand Apache, I want to use sun, but apparently there is no hope for mysql to actually worth with your server, and php can?

You might also consider simply using the pre-compiled, comes with an installer script copy of PHP from here .
Unfortunately this version of PHP is a bit dated. Hopefully Sun will update it at some point.

TS2755 iMessage pre-populated for all new messages

When I create a new message in IMessage it is pre-populated with an old message I once sent someone - it is like it has become a template and I am forced to delete it before I can write my new message. Any idea how I can stop this from happening?

The pre-1998 Macs this forum covers do not have USB and few can be retrofitted to have it, so I believe you have a newer Mac that has its own more-active forum section. Can you give us more details about your model? People will need to know your model and Mac OS software version to answer anyway.

HP 2200D printer won't work

I have a HP Laserjet 2200D printer, and it won't work on my Macbook, nor on my Windows 8.1 laptop and not even on a Windows 7 laptop. The drivers were installed automatically when the printer was plugged in. When I give an order to print, the printer pre-heats, but it doesn't print. In stead all 3 indicatorlights light up constantly. I do not know what to do. The old cardridge was replaced with a new one. The printer will also not function when given an order to testprint, or when to clean.

OK, I have just answered (part of) my own question.
Re-installing the HP Laserjet package has duplicated drivers for most of the HP laserjet printers in my list of drivers. If I select the second entry of the two identical appearances of the drivers for my printers, they start working again; if I select the first appearance they don't work. So now my printers are working again.
This still doesn't explain why Software Update prompted me to re-install an already installed package. It also gives me the issue of removing all the duplicate entries from my list of drivers, unless I am prepared to live with the clutter and waste of HD space. Any thoughts about how to do this without bombing my printers again?

Canon LIDE210 scanner won't work with 64 bit arch.

I have a Canon LIDE 210 flatbed scanner which is supposed to be fully supported in linux - for many many months if I plug it in, and start up GIMP to use the scanner plugin - initially it looks like it will work but although it successfully completes a preview scan, if I ask it to do a full scan of a page or section of page it makes abnormal noises, and ends up usually screaming as if in pain, and then the sane application hangs. This is if it is plugged in to a laptop with usb3 cable connecting the laptop to the scanner, and running 64 bit arch. Yet the same scanner plugged in to a laptop which only has usb2 ports, and running 32 bit arch works flawlessly running the scanner in the same way.
I expect that the 32/64 bit arch issue is not relevant, and it is some problem with the usb3 drivers not being compatible with the usb2 capability of the scanner that is causing the failure.
I have seen some suggestion (from a Ubuntu forum) to "In the UEFI/BIOS change the setting under USB configuration, "XHCI Pre-Boot mode" from enabled to disabled. In some BIOS configurations this setting is known as "XHCI Mode". Is there a better way to resolve this since usb3 external drives and usbkeys work fine without this change on the same machine.
Does anyone have any experience with running usb flatbed scanners via a usb3 port, and if so is there a workaround that is known to work with this particular scanner? I have seen the thread at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=184816 which also did not lead to a solution.
It would be nice to find a way to deal with this although perhaps a newer linux compatible scanner that is equivalent to the LIDE 210 is available that is compatible with usb3?

The Canon Australia web site is only showing v4.5.1.2 of CanoScan Toolbox for the LiDE35 (same version for Windows and Mac). There is no mention of v5.0.1.3 being supported by this model so this could explain the application is unable to locate it. The applications typically have a built-in list of support devices and if the 35 is not in this list then it won't work. Again with reference to the Canon web site, the LiDE 600F and 70 show v5.0.1.4 of CanoScan Toolbox. Later models, such as the LiDE 100 and 200 released last year, don't use the Toolbox application. Instead they work with MP Navigator or OS X apps like Preview.

Pre-populating parameter field when report deployed

I have two similar reports, where the reports contains several report parameters and a drop down list of of available options are provided based upon the first report parameter.
The report that works correctly, has the first report parameter pre-populated. The second does not. I don't know how the first report parameter in the correct report has been pre-populated (I didn't create it). It looks like it is pre-populated
based on the login that you use. At the moment in the second report, instead of having a drop down menu - the option is greyed out. However, if I type in a figure for the first report parameter, the drop down menu is available and the options appear
in a drop down list based on that figure.
Can someone please tell me how can I pre-populate the report parameter so I can replicate it in my second report?

Based on my understanding, you have two similar reports, you want to make a report parameter pre-populate in your second report.
In Reporting Service, when we specify the default values for a report parameter and default values are available, the parameter will pre-populate in a report. If you want to select parameter values appear in a drop-down list, you should specify available
values for a parameter.
In your scenario, as a parameter is an item within a report, you can’t copy parameter values from first report to second report directly. Since two reports are similar, you can refer to first report to specify default values for parameters in your second
report. As we tested in our environment, if we specify default values for a report parameter, the parameter will pre-populate in the report. Please refer to screenshot below:

PopupMenu won't work in CS6 on Mac

Hi Everyone,
We use PopupMenu to show context menu, but it won't work anymore in Dreeamweaver CS6 on Mac.
The symptom is when you click a menu item from popup menu, there is no value to return but it works fine in CS5.5 (both Mac and Windows).
