Sub cube information

Please help me on subecubes ...On what basis sube create ,,,i mean let's ex in essabse ---datablock create based on dense demension members and no of blocks creats on based on sparse members...
In the same way can we find in hFM aslo ,,who many subcubes will be creates and how may records creates and records.
How to calculate records size,subcube sze in hfm (can we find out these size by using hfm metadta?)...Please help me any methods avaliable,

I have a question about evaluating calculated members against sub queries. For an example take a look into the following MDX query;

This query returns the data from January 2008 to June 2008 for Bikes and Clothing categories. I noticed that the Product dimension’s Category hierarchy’s [All] member is named as “[All Products]” ([All Categories] would be a nice name) and I want to name it
a bit different. So I created “with
member [Product].[Category].[All Categories]
as sum({[Product].[Category].&[1], [Product].[Category].&[3]})” calculated member. So far I get the expected results.
Further I wanted to get rid of the hard-coded members from the calculated member and I wanted to force the members in the current context (members which is specified in the sub cube space). So I modified the query as follows;

Consol Process aborted, sub-cube is locked

Hi,
I've encountered consolidation process aborted and the system messages is :
Data and/or status cannot be changed because the sub-cube is locked.
Any idea what does it mean?

another process is writing/calcing that subcube which is composed of all the Accounts x ICPs x Customs for a particular Year Entity Scenario Value combination.
Depending on the version you are running there may be software updates that can help you.

Load balancing on sub-interfaces (3 links)

Sub-project rollup to Master project-How to achieve this??

In capital project: There is 1 master project, under master project there are 10 sub-projects ,how to rollup the sub-projects information into master project [client wants to see the all sub-project information at master project level only as well as sub-project level also]
Each Sup-Project has a Project ID and Project Name,If we consider each sub project as one task but as per the client requirement each sub-project has a separate Project ID, and as well as Master project also has Project ID (in this scenario how to roll-up the sub-project information into master project).
Here client wants to see all sub-project information at master project level with the code of Project ID and as well as individual at sub-project level with the code of Sub-project Project ID”,each project has [Sub-project and master project] Project ID, Project name, and Project Number

The ability to see the rollup information is part of Project Management.
When you setup the master project, go to Option and open the Structures page. Flag the check box named "Enable the project as a Program".
Now go to Tasks pages, and open a lowest level task. Open the Options page for the task, and you will see there "sub Project Association. Select that option and on the opened page you can list the subproject. Note you can link all sub-projects to the same task, or to different tasks of the master project.
Go to Project Reporting Tab of Project Management. There you should select the report as a project if you want to see data on each project, master and sub-projects, individually. Select the report as 'Program' to see the rollup up data for he master project and all its sub-projects.

HFM Performance Issue

I have a client experiencing slow performance when running consolidation. It has approx. 200 entites and has wuite a flat structure.
I read somewhere that MaxNumCubesInRAM and MaxNumDataRecordsInRAM will affect performance and they can be tunned. May I knw where can I find these 2 information for my application?
Any other idea for performance tuning, eg number of cpu recommended?

•     MaxNumCubesInRAM - This parameter determines the maximum number of sub-cubes allowed in RAM. Applications with very sparse data sets (i.e. small sub-cubes) may benefit from higher settings.
•     MaxNumDataRecordsInRAM - This parameter determines the maximum number of data records allowed in RAM. Applications with very sparse data sets (i.e. small sub-cubes) may benefit from higher settings.
•     MultiThreadCalcStatus – Hyperion does not recommend changing this setting.
•     NumConsolidationThreads - This setting controls the multi-threading of consolidations. Lowering the value limits the system’s utilization of system resources resulting in slower consolidation performance. The minimum value is 1 and the maximum is 8.
•     NumVBScriptEngines - See NumConsolidationThreads description. Same limits apply.
•     MaxNumConcurrentConsolidations – This setting can be used to limit the number of allowed concurrent consolidations. Any consolidations executed above the value are queued. The minimum value is 1 and the maximum is 8.

Multiprovider design (InfoObject assign) and query dehavior

Hi experts,
we have a hetergenous multiprovider, it has several InfoCube as the basis cube. when execute the query, it will display some duplicated records.
1) the two duplicated records are exactly the same, including characteristics, navigational atrribute, key figures.
2) the two duplicated records have the same characteristics, navigational attribute, with some of different key figures .
It's very hard to identify the root cause why for some of the records, it will have duplicated records. Meanwhile, I have some question for the multiprovider design..
For example, now we have 4 InfoCube..
In those 4 infoCube, we have the 0Material inside. at Multiprovider level, 0Plant are assign from those 4 infoCube
Only 3 of the InfoCube, have the 0Plant inside. at Multiprovider level, 0material are assign from those 3 infoCube.
1) what will happen , if I include 0plant and 0material as the rows in the query designer, will this cause some duplciated records ?
Now , 0Material, have the navigational attrribute, 0mateiral_0matl_type, If I only 3 Cube has the
0mateiral_0matl_type Open and assign into the Multiprovider..
In my query, I use the 0material, and also 0material_0matl_type as the variable , both could input the values, and display in the rows
What will happen ? if not all the navigational attribute are assigned at the Multiprovider level, but the master data InfoObject 0material it self are all assigned at the multiprovider level.
2 ) Is there any influence to retrieve the record ? I am not sure if 0Material are correctly assigned, 0material_matl_type will influence the result (number of records), or will this cause duplicate records ?
I think in some of the case, in the sub -cube, not all the required InfoObject, or navigational attribute are avalable at the ALL Cube level, but in the query level, they are used.
Finally, what could be the reason for duplicated records ?? they should be merged after execution..

If you iunclude any characteristics or a navigational attribute which is not common in both the infoproviders
then the it will show the result in a seperate line ,
But you have a option to overcome this , refer the How to document in the below link

Multiprovider is not capturing some fields data

Hi Friends,
               I got a proble when iam working on multiprovider,where i have taken two cubes into that multiprovider,now the problem is when i execute a report on muliprovider some fields are not populating with data.

              account receivable item data(0fi_ar_4)}}
                       As this is RRI sender query having both cubes information,when i execute report when ever report captures first cube report the second cube data is not capturing vice versa.

Could be a problem on identification (setting on multiprovider).
Try to execute on transaction RSRT your query
execute + debug
on debug option set "Multiprovider explain"
and report the log in this post.

Text_item is not displaying in Apps

I developed one form that is working fine in windows .. when i am putting this form under linux server that text_item is not displaying this issue is coming only after i change sub class information=text_item and when i compiling this form under linux that .FMX is generated at the time i am getting following error.any one can suggest how to solve this issue.

ma prob is that i've created 4 oracle forms using oracle 9i and i can perfectly run and view 3 forms. but when i compile and run the other form it does not display on the browser window. it displays just the java applet (which is just a gray area). i cannot c any components... pls could any one help me on this prob....???

Date View in Library Mode. . .

I selected a date in the meta data secton, while in the library expecting the shots that I took on that day to pop up, they did not, is this the way lightroom is designed to work? It would be nice to see all the shots captured on a single day.
Second, do any of you rename your Folders in lightroom once you import? I get all kinds of crazy titles and I'd prefer to have my Folders section listed by topic or subject rather than date, and sub folder information.
In fact im not even sure sometimes why a certain folder name shows up in the Folders after I import.
Final question, i'm trying to back up to dvd my shots from the day. I want to be able to put all the images on to a DVD but after I import them it is sometimes hard to find them. I shoot maybe 5-10 or more different subjects in a shoot, or on one card, so the question is how do I find all files and burn them to a DVD for backup?

PS, I love the program, it's is awesome and has helped me shorten my PP time a lot.
One final comments/question, if you "EXPORT" from the library do you guys delete the export shots after you burn them or are done with them as you can always save it as a Quick Collection and re export it later if you like, or is there a way to export and have the images stacked with the originals.
Sorry for all the questions, but the book I purchased on lightroom, while helpful lacks a lot of the practicle stuff I need to know.

I have made this request since Lightoom 1, but adobe doesn't see the need for it. I think it is a very useful feature. The digital asset manager application have it. And Lightroom claims to help manage assets!

"Authorization error" while accessing Multiprovider in Analysis for excel tool

We are using "Analysis for excel" 1.4 version. My users are executing all queries out of any MP with out any issue. But while accessing Multi Provider in "Analysis for excel" tool they are geeting "Authorization" error. Any suggestions please.

I'm facing the same problem, which basically is no issue but expected behaviour?!
Reason: When allowing access on Multiproviders via queries you probably restrict the data selection with authorization variables, where users have to select characteristics they are allowed to see.
In that way, you prevent that users can see data for which they are not authorized.
Finally, if the direct selection via Multiprovider was allowed without any restriction, your whole authorization concept would be for the birds :-)
In my case, I wanted to give users just an overview of the "last update dates" of several infocubes:

=SAPGetSourceInfo("DS_1"; "LastDataUpdate")
(... we all know that Multis can display only the oldest load date of any of all Cubes below....)
I even deleted the cross-tabs, and kept only the reference to the DS_x ... But still, when users try to refresh the data sources they are not even allowed to select pure technical Cube Information :-/

Creating Service Entry Sheet without using Service Master/Service lines

We are invoking the BAPI_EntrySheet_Create to create the service entry sheet. We are currently facing this issue...
1) For assigned PO's, we are getting the PO item and Account assignment information from BAPI_PO_GetDetail. We are using these values to populate the parameters/tables to invoke BAPI_EntrySheet_Create. For population the Entrysheetservices table, we are not using information from Service Master/Service lines but use the information we get from an external system to populate the Service lines(ESLL). We do not provide a Package No/Service information when invoking the BAPI but populate the service lines with short text, quantity, Gross price etc without service information like package no, outline indicator etc. The BAPI creates a service enty sheet successfully(this is without the SES Acceptance indicator not being set) but when we lookup the SES# from ML81n transaction the ESLL details lines are not displayed.
When displaying the SES using transaction ML81N, the header information is displayed correctly but the lines are not displayed. The Header information is correctly populated in ESSR table and detail is also populated in ESLL table. I think the cross reference information is correctly set in ESLH table to pull up the detail when ML81N as it is missing the package/sub pack information.
Your expert advise in resolving this issue is very much appreciate. Please advise.

Use of Dimensions in Multiprovider?

Can any one let me know while creating Multiprovider,why we should again select the infoobjects(from sub cubes) in to Dimensions(in MP)?Is it necessary?what are the Pros and Cons of this concept?

Hi James,
The dimensions have no significance in the multiprovider, since during the query execution the data is fetched from the data targets involved int he multiprovider.
What I normally do is create one dimension for each of the data provider in the multiprovider and include all the characteristic's of that data provider in that dimension. The common chars are included in the first dimension and the next dimensions will have only the chars that are unique to that data provider.
In toto the number of dimensions will be equal to or less than the data providers included in the multiprovider. The query performance will be decided based on the basic cubes dimensions and not based on the dimensions of the multiprovider.

I have designed on MDX Query. That Query is working in Crystal Report.
I have successfully exported universe from this query.
Now I want to use this universe in Query As A Web Service. I found universe of this query in QaawS.
I am able to see their fields in Build your Qurey Screen. While I am trying to give next step I am getting below error:

Could not see Diemensions and its Members in Member Selection Dialog.

Hi friends,
I have an issue while trying to retrieve cube's data through a Member Selection Dialog using Application Builder.NET 9.2 APIs.
I could able to sign on and could able to select the cube but the Dimensions and its members are shown empty. Iam developing this applicaiton on VisualStudio 2003 with Application Builder 9.2 and EDS 9.2. I could see the cube's data in Member Seletion Dialog when trying through a Spreadsheet client(exel sheet) but cannot see in MemberSelection Dialog in ApplnBuilder.NET application.Iam trying to populate the data into ListBox and DropDownList controls through respective adapters using HABNET 9.2 APIs. It would be great help if some one through light on the issue.

Thanks everyone for replying to this message. We could never find a viable solution so we decided to re-image the computers/laptops of the handful of users with this issue. This seemed to do the trick. At this point we think that there was something interfering on the specific machines that we could not identify.
