Submit By Email button not working in FireFox 25.0.1

If the form is saved to desktop or opened in IE, we are not seeing any issues. However, when clicking on the submit by email button in in FireFox 25.0.1, a pop-up appears to choose the default email program or a web email program. We use Outlook and it is set by default. After checking the Outlook option, the form freezes for about a minute and the email window with the PDF attached never appears.
I'm using the built-in Submit By Email button in Livecycle Designer 9.
<event name="event__click" activity="click">
<submit format="pdf" textEncoding="UTF-8" target="mailto:[email protected]?subject=EBSS User Renewal Request- Approval Needed Request"/>
</event>

If the PDF submits to a server-side script URL it can bypass client-side email software.
Try the online PDF submission examples and see if it works for you in Mozilla FireFox:
http://www.pdfemail.net/examples/
You should also make sure the browser is using the Adobe Reader plugin as the default PDF reader.

  • Submit by email button not working

I have a simple form which has worked fine for the past couple of years, but since updating it with Livecycle Designer ES8.2 recently, the 'submit by email' button is not working for many who have downloaded it.
Works fine when I try it here and it worked fine last year, but not with this latest version of the pdf apparently.
If anyone has a moment could they have a look and see if there's anything obviously wrong? (It has a couple of required fields before the button will work) It's at http://www.mogsport.net/series/2009-SeriesAppForm.pdf
    Thanks
    Chris
    XP Pro SP3, LC ES8.2, Acrobat 9

i have had this problem too. it looks like you are getting the xml data file because the pdf opens as read only in acrobat reader and cannot be saved. one thing that solved the problem for me was to open the file in acrobat pro and use the distribute form wizard. this may just be a roundabout way of doing the reader extension paul mentioned, but in my case it worked.
open the file in acrobat pro (if you have it)
go to forms > distribute form...
when you get to "how do you want to collect responses.." select "manually collect responses in my inbox" from the dropdown menu and click next
then you will get to "how do you want to save your form"... click save a local copy and send it later the click the browse button and select where you want to save the document.
    then click finish
go to where you saved the file and it should have the file name with "distributed" after it. send out that file and it should be able to save and return a pdf when the recipient clicks the submit by email button.
from what i remember the first time you go through the dist form process you have to fill in contact info, email etc. whatever email you put for this will be the email the form is returned to when you hit the submit by email button. from what i remember it even overrides the email address programmed into the sumbit by email button. if you want to change the contact info later you can change it in Edit > preferences > identity
    hope this works for you

  • Back Button not working in FireFox 4

Is anyone else having trouble with the back and forward buttons not working in FireFox 4? I installed 4 on an XP desktop and a Vista 64 laptop, and the forward and back buttons don't work on either installation. Does anyone know a fix for this? I tried deleting the "places" files in the profile and that does not help.

I am having a problem with the back button also in Firefox 4. Firefox forgets the 1st page in any new session or tab. If I open a tab to say bbc.com and navigate to guardian.com I can't click the back button to get back to bbc.com.

  • Submit by Email Does Not Work in IE9

I have a PDF form that is on our company Intranet with a Submit by Email button.  When a user uses Internet Explorer 9 to open this form and hit the Submit by Email button, the Select Email Client window appears.  After selecting Desktop Email Application, nothing happens.  No email client opens up.  It works with the latest version of Firefox and Chrome though.  Anyone run into the same issue?
    Running:
    Windows 7 SP1
    Internet Explorer 9 (9.0.8112.16421)
    GroupWise 8
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro (10.0.2)

I am having a similar issue, but with different software. We have a form on our companies intranet with a submit button. If you are an XP user the email (Outlook) box opens and you can send it off. If you are a Windows 7 user, you hit the submit button and nothing appears to happen. It is sending the email behind the scenes, but the user has no idea that it has been sent, therefore the reciever gets several unecessary emails from the same user.
    Windows 7
    Outlook 10
    IE8
    Acrobat X
    Sharepoint
Any suggestions would be grateful !!!

  • Can an Acrobat Pro DC fillable form have a submit by email button that works in all browsers?

Last time I attempted to make an online fillable pdf form the submit (to email) button wouldn't work in all browsers.
Has this been addressed in Acrobat Pro DC?
What is the best way to obtain a successful result?

Two issues may affect the ability to successfully receive the PDF submission:
First, the built-in PDF "Viewers" lack the ability to submit PDF form and form data, viewers are not compatible with Live-Cycle XFA PDFs, and they lack Extended Reader Rights proprietary to Adobe Software. End-users will need to disable the default built-in viewer, and enable Adobe Reader as the default PDF viewer on the default browser.
Visit the following website to learn how to enable Adobe Reader:  Acrobat Help | Display PDF in browser | Acrobat, Reader XI
Second, submitting to an email address may not send; because, the default client-side email may not be configured correctly. To bypass client-side email software you can set the submit button action to point an URL of a server-side script, such as PHP or ASP.net. The script can take the submission and send using SMTP account without the need for OUTLOOK or web-mail.
Visit the following website for online server-side script examples:

  • Help button not working on firefox. How to fix?

    help button not working.

    Hello,
    Lets give Firefox some Tuneup.
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Javascript "Play Video" button not working in Firefox

When clicking on "play video" (java), QuickTime will not open while using firefox. It does work in Google Chrome and IE. I have tried using a clean user profile & allowing popups, and I made sure the Java and QuickTime addons were working and up to date.
The problem is with twit.tv/twit. Clicking the "Live" link on google.com does play the live stream, but the actual Java buttons are not working in Firefox.
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://twit.tv/twit

Make sure that you do not block [[JavaScript]]
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

    Hello,

    - uninstalled firewall - did not worked
    - added full exception for Firefox into the firewall - did not worked
    - Firefox reinstall - did not worked
    - Firefox complete reinstall (registry included) - did not worked
    - IPv6 diseabling - did not worked

  • Soical buttons not working in firefox & Chrome but OK in Safari

My webiste has been up and running for a month now but I've now noticed (among an array of other Muse bugs... aaaggghhh) that the 'Facebook Recommend and the 'Pin it' social widget buttons don't work in Firefox and Chrome but they do in Safari?
    http://www.thinksmartresumes.com.au/parthorus-resumes-design.html (freebie tab)
Also on this page, the 'LinkedIn share' button works fine in Safari and Chrome but not in Firefox? See screen shots...
The Muse Team (ie Danni Beaumont) clearly state in all the tutorial videos that they guarantee multi-platform user friendly code.... I spend half my day finding bugs between different browsers? Not happy.

I am having similar issues - the URL that the plugin insists it wants to have complete (with http:// at the front) is being concatenated with another "http://" when it is rendered on the page.
This is the URL I have in the properties for the button:
But this is the URL that shows up in the Share dialog:
If I take the http:// OFF the property for the button (so, I start with "www...."), the widget doesn't render.  I get an error that the thumbnail can't draw.
    Yes, annoying.

  • The Downloads Clear List Button Not Working In Firefox 19.0

    Hello,
After upgrading Firefox to version 19.0 today, I noticed that the Downloads Clear List Button does not work & is always grayed/greyed out, and so you can not clear all downloads; and so you have to remove them each one-at-a-time.
I did not have this problem until upgrading to version 19.0

  • Submit Crash Report option not working in FireFox 7

I am unable to save Submit Crash Reports under Options > Advanced > System Defaults. I am using FireFox 7 and all my plugins are updated.
Again on clicking Get Add-Ons under Options > General > Manage Add-Ons, my FF 7 crashes with no report going to Mozilla as Submit Crash Reports option does not work.
Otherwise my FireFox works fine having resolved by myself earlier crashes posted here on September 24, 2011 on clicking Manage Add-Ons and visiting Yahoo Mail.

I have had this same problem (cannot save "Submit Crash Report" option) since 26 Jun in previous Mac versions. I have tried to submit a Capture Data to Mac tech support (including screen prints) but have been told the tech I was working with is no longer in tech support, and to please do not submit Capture Data.
I don't know how long this has been problem in Mac version, but I only noticed it around 26 June.
Options in my Firefox Tools menu are also missing (I can't remember which ones right now)

  • Email button not working as memo's Sprint Centro

Not sure if this is the proper place for this but here goes. I have my Sprint Centro set up so that when I press the email button it opens memo's. Suddenly it stopped opening memo's and goes into reboot. I can move Memo's to other buttons and it still goes to reboot. I put other applications for the envelope button and it works fine. The warranty is out but I took it to the major Sprint store to get their opinion and they claim it is moisture inside causing the problem. Because of my condition I sweat terriblely while working and many times carry the phone in my T-shirt pocket so I can hear or feel it vibrate so maybe it has gotten moisture inside. I don't think Sprint was correct that that was the problem since all the buttons work fine except when set up to open Memo's. Anyone had this trouble or anyone know a fix? Thanks.
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Sounds like you have two problems.  First the "easy" one...
Your email button.  Go to your Prefs icon, then Buttons.  See if your Email button has been reprogrammed to open Memos.  If so, change it to Email.  Done!
The second one.  Memos sounds like it has a corrupt record, or a few.  Download and install "DBFixit" from pimlicosoftware.com.  It will scan and fix some problems for free, others may require a fee to register the program (which goes to "Dewars Gorilla Haven Project" in Georgia.)

  • Safari 8 Email Button Not Working

Since the upgrade to Yosemite and Safari 8 the email button to share a webpage does not work. I click on it and nothing happens. If I go to File > Share it says No Service.
Any ideas what might be causing this? I use this feature quite a lot
    Thank you!
    Kerstin

Might be an incompatible Safari extension or third party plug-in.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
