Submit event in Interactive Form element

I have WDA with Interactive Form element.
I put a code onSubmit event of InteractiveForm element.
I tried several Submit buttons in Live Cycle Designer:
type Button with Submit option from Standard library and  type Submit to SAP from Native library.
None of them generates Submit event
Ehat kind of special "special Adobe Web Dynpro submit button" the Help is talking about?
Here is an excerpt from WDA help:
onSubmit
Describes the action to be executed when the user selects the Submit pushbutton.
Note that the submit event is only evaluated when there a submit button is selected
within the form. "Within" means that the special Adobe Web Dynpro submit button has
been included in the Adobe Designer.
Thanks,
Tatyana

Hello Siva,
In Interactive Form ,you can place as much submit buttons as you want.
You are creating a simple calculator in adobe...Right..?
For this purpose ,
1. In Adobe Interactive Form, Go to WebDynproActiveX  field and from this ,select 4 submit buttons in sequence
2.In Caption property label them as Add, Sub, Mul & Div respectively.
Reply if these steps work for you.
Best Regards,
Shital.

  • WD(ABAP) - Oncheck Event by Interactive Form

    Accessing Adobe Lifecycle Designer through Web Dynpro workplace will provide you with a set of fields in a special library called "Web Dynpro", in which I find some interesting element. Most of them are mentioned in the following place:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1e/05853ff8ec2c17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1e/05853ff8ec2c17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm</a>
    As I understood, the script within field triggers a Web Dynpro event allowing developer to realize the value check, search help functions in PDF. For example: the "Check Field" button delivers the code:
    app.eval("event.target.SAPCheckFields();");
    In Netweaver developer Studio, an Oncheck event is linked with Interactive Form, you find it under the event property. However I cannot find the same event in Web Dynpro ABAP. Does it mean Web Dynpro ABAP doesn't support the oncheck event of interactive form?
    I have tried to drag and drop a Check Field button on the form. When I click it at runtime, IE returns error message. Looking into ST22, The exception is CX_WDR_ADAPTER_UNKNOWN_EVENT' was raised.
    Does somebody have clue? I appreciated your help on this.

    It's ugly, but it's true:
    At this point in time, Web Dynpro for ABAP has only one Interactive-Forms-specific standard event (compared to the 2 in Java), which is the Submit event. I am hoping that both Web Dynpro worlds will be on the same level in terms of features in the next release.

  • Hiding toolbars in Interactive form element

    Hi all,
    I am using interactive form element to embed a purely readonly pdf (but content is dynamic) since Iframes is deprecated (any other way?).
    I wish to hide the toolbars, options of  thumbnails etc. I added the code below to my view controller. However, it does not seem to work. All the toolbars are still showing. Did i do something wrong?
    IWDPDFDocumentInteractiveFormHandler iFormHandler =
    WDPDFDocumentFactory.getDocumentHandler(wdThis.wdGetAPI(),
                 "InteractiveForm");
    IWDPDFDocumentAppearance appearance =
          iFormHandler.getDocumentContext().getAppearance();
    appearance.hideMenuBar(true);
    appearance.hideToolBars(true);
    appearance.hideWindowControl(true);
    TIA

    Hi,
    As the error suggests that you do not have any certificate configured in your key store which is required to authenticate the client to the ADS. You would require to install a client certificate on your Web Dynpro/Portal server that will be used to authenticate the Web Service call to ADS.
    But the question is whether you need "Https" for a server to server communication (from your portal server to ADS server) ? Normally, these two servers reside in the LAN. And i suppose you are not using any of the secured functionalities of interactive form (for example, digital signature, certification etc.). I assume that you need "https" call from browser to the portal server and then from portal server to the ADS should be on http. Please confirm on that. If that is the case, then you can follow the section below to change the "protocolSchemeForADSCall" to "http" always. This is what you would need to do in the Visual Administrator where your portal/web dynpro is installed:
    In Visual Administrator. Go to ->
    Server -> Services -> Configuration Adapter -> webdynpro -> sap.com ->
    tcwddispwda -> Propertysheet default
    Then goto property sap.protocolSchemeForADSCall
    This property is available after you apply SAP note 849730.
    Possible values are:
    - request: same protocal scheme than the request to Web Dynpro has
    - https: always use https
    - http: always use http
    SET the value as http. This will ensure that web Dynpro to ADS communication always happens on http, rather than on https.
    Should you need to install SSL based communication between the two, you would need to follow the note:

  • Interactive Form Element 7.1:  How can I set the default file name?

    I am using Interactive Form Element with 7.1 to display a pdf.  When one clicks the save button in Adobe's toolbar, the dialog defaults the file name to "F.pdf".  Is there a way to default this to a different value?

    Making customisation from the default profile is generally considered poor practice and quite often doesn't work out as planned. (If you're interested in some more information on this, [http://mockbox.net/windows-7/227-customise-windows-7-default-profile.html see here] see here)

  • How to Destroy PDFs generated thru Interactive Form ELement

    Hello Friends
    My team has figured out that constructing pdfs through Interactive Form Element in Netweaver is a big performance issue
    We need to destroy those pdfs generated , So please help us out with this
    thanks a lot

    I guess I'm still not fully understanding your problem.  You mention that they aren't being cleared from the JVM?  On the server or client side? How exactly are you seeing that they aren't being released? I'm assuming you mean server side because you mention JVM.  The JVM isn't used on the client side to display the UI element.  There is no JVM used in Web Dynpro ABAP for the server side processing.  The only place the JVM is used is in the Adobe Document Services itself for the rendering of the PDF.  Is that where you are seeing instances not being cleared?  I'm not exactly sure how that would be manifesting itself.  Could you please provide some more detail.

  • Submit button in Interactive form WDA

    Hi All,
    I have created one WD ABAP interactive form using one BAPI. I have placed one Submit button on the form which is of type (webdynpro native). And i have defined on action in WD. But when I click on submit button the action is not trigerring. I tried even with Webdynpro Active x type but still no use.
    How can I link the button in form to action?
    With Regards,
    Ravi

    Ravi,
    There is onSubmit event in Web Dynpro where you can create your own method for data processing.
    If you have set displayType as native then you should be using Submit button from WD Native Library in Designer.
    Once you place the button on the form, check if following script is present in the click event of button in Script editor of Designer or not.
    // DO NOT MODIFY THE CODE BEYOND THIS POINT - SubmitToSAP.xfo
    ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
    // END OF DO NOT MODIFY
    Also check Control Type in Object Palette for the button. It should be Regular.

  • Interactive Form Element

    Hi,
    Is it possible to call the get and set width and height methods for the TextField element in the interactive form?
    Regards,
    William

    Hi,
    Its possible using Java script in the form. Follwing are the functionalities which are possible to set the height, width of a Textfield UI Element.
    Size and Position
    X
    x property
    TextField1.x = "measurement"
    Y
    y property
    TextField1.y = "measurement"
    Width
    w property
    TextField1.w = "measurement"
    Height
    h property
    TextField1.h = "measurement"
    Width Expand to fit
    minW property
    TextField1.minW = "measurement"
    Height Expand to fit
    minH property
    TextField1.minH = "measurement"
    Anchor
    anchorType property
    TextField1.anchorType = "position"
    To get Hight, length, width use:
    To get X layout:
    TextField1.rawValue = TextField1.x;
    To get Y layout:
    TextField1.rawValue = TextField1.y;
    To get width:
    TextField1.rawValue = TextField1.w;
    To get Height :
    TextField1.rawValue = TextField1.h;
    In the above codes width, height, x and y layout values will be assigned to TextField1.
    Hope it will solve your Problem.

  • Error when pressing Submit button in Interactive Form

    Hi
    I have a WD/Java component with an embedded interactive form. The form has two buttons, a SubmitToSAP and a CheckField button. Everything was tested on the development system and worked fine. The component was then deployed to the QA system and has also been tested successfully there.
    Since a few days the WD does neither react on both of the buttons. Instead an error message appears indicating the following text:
        Character string "0" does not exist in the set of allowed values
    What seems strange is the fact that this issue started on the development system after a colleage had modified his WD/Java component (which does not contain an adobe form). After deploying this component on the QA system later we also got the issue there.
    Does anybody have a suggestion how this issue could be fixed? Could this be caused by the SDM? Thanks for responding.
    René Morel

    Hi rene,
                Can u send the complete stack trace?? It seems u r trying to get some values from value set & that values doesn't exist in the set.After checking the stack trace only we can find out main problem.

  • Submit Button Adobe Interactive forms in webdynpro application

    Hi All,
    I have a webdynpro requirement which contains only ineractive Fom ( Adobe From).
    In adobe Form i have inserted webdynpro activeex Submit Button.
    When i run my webdynpro application.I am not able click on the submit button and it is not triggering the backend logic.
    Can anybody please let me know how can i solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Taragini

    Hi Tarangini,
    As how suggested by Thomas ensure that the button type which you are using within your Adobe form matches the "displayType" property that you have specified for the InteractiveForm UI element within your Web Dynpro component. Also specify an event name to be triggered when the user clicks on the Adobe form button. This can be done by specifying a value for onSubmit property of the InteractiveForm. Also ensure that your Adobe form is enabled by having the "enabled" checkbox property of the InteractiveForm checked.

    Hi,
    Try doing the following
    try using the simple 'Button'. In the button's object properties, in the tab named 'field', select 'Control Type: submit'.
    Then, in the 'submit' tab in the object properties, choose PDF in the 'submit format' dropdown field.
    In the 'submit to URL field' type:
    mailto:nameataddress.com?subject=mySubject&body=Done
    You may need to adjust the e-mail address, subject and body text.

  • Control not going from Adobe Interactive form to ABAP WD Event handler

    Hi
    I am facing an issue with adobe interactive forms and WD ABAP integration.
    The buttons in adobe interactive form when clicked is going round and round and the control is not going to the ABAP code(WD ABAP event handler code whatsoever). I have also set the debugger but the control is not moving to the ABAP code from the adobe interactive form.
    Can anyone help me what can be the issue here and how can I resolve the same?
    Thanks.

    Hi Babi,
    In the adobe form layout library Use the Submit(which internally means submit to SAP) button from the Webdynpro Native category.
    Only this button action can connect adobe to web dynpro.
    Whenever we click on this particular button the event will be trigger in the ONsubmit event of interactive form UI element in the webdynpro.There we can write our abap code.Hope this will help you.
