Flash movie to enter data into access

I have a simple microsoft access database (table with a handful of fields).
I want to make a flash form that operators can use on mac and pc to enter information into the database.
I know little about databases and although I've worked as a designer with flash for years, i know little about the latest scripting too.

The answer is sort of.
Flash that is served up from a webserver cannot access a database directly with out some back end server that actually does the hand shaking.
There are a number of ways to do it though.
1. Create webservices to pass the data to and have the webservices access and save the data for you.
2. Use page scripting with .NET aspx pages or PHP pages deployed on your webserver to communicate to the database. You would use the loadvars or URLLoader in AS3 to post the variables to the page and then let the page process the data.
Those would be the simpler methods providing you have access to a PHP or .NET solution to act as your backend.

Insert data into Access with Auto-Increment column

Is there anyone out there that has come across this problem I am experiencing?
I have a form I'm trying to submit to an Access DB that has an Auto-Incremented Table Column. I have followed Stefan Cameron's instructions to a "T" on his blog page here:

but I keep getting the following error"

open operation failed. [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Number of query values and destination fields are not the same.
My OLEDB Connection Record Source is the SQL Query which reads: SELECT FedTaxID, LegalID FROM dbtest; My simple test DB is Access and its only 3 columns; dbID, FedTaxID, LegalID. dbID is the Auto-Incremented Column.
If I remove the Auto column from my DB table it inserts just fine but I get this error:
GeneralError: Operation failed.

ado2xfa operation failed. Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.
I've looked over alot of the blogs and other help forums and there's info on Selects, I don't find much on Inserts.

First, please pay attention to the forum in which you are posting. This particular post would be more appropriate to tsql rather than datamining. Second, what specific problem are you trying to solve. The code you posted appears to be
correct. I will say that your DataTable will likely be a source of future problems if it contains only the 2 columns.

How to submit the Data with Business rule auto executed with VBA in excel?

Anyone knows how can I submit the data into planning with the business rule auto executed in planning?
Currently, I am using HypExecuteCalcScriptEx () + HypSubmitData() in my program that auto executed the business rule prior saving the data into planning.
However when it try to run HySubmitData(), the Business rule window pops up again and ask user to run the business rule again.
Therefore, is there a way that I can submit the data with auto execute the business rule?

One solution is to set the column width after manually or programmatically refresh the PivotTable, for example:

Another option is to set the column width, then protect the columns from been updated by the user, before refreshing the PivotTable, unprotect the worksheet. For example:

Loading MS Access Table and Data into Oracle

Hi,
I have few tables in MS Access. I want to create same layout of tables in Oracle and want to populate data from MS Access tables to Oracle tables.
Please let me know if there is a way by which I can create tables and load data automatically (thru some option or script)?

Inserting data into Ms Access via jdbc odbc connectivity

Can anyone help dictate what's wrong with this below method which is supposed to be adding new record(append) into my ms Access Table. This is giving me a hell of problem, I thought I have everything well. The module is branched via a Swing ui. Can you debug this ? and send a new code to try?

thanxAnd that SQL statement is another reason to use PreparedStatement. I assume bname and sname are input from some form? Well, if that's the case, simply inserting them into SQL by simple String concatenation is just begging for all sorts of problems. What if there is an apostrophe in the entry? Broken Statement. Worse, it's a wide open invitation to an SQL Injection attack.

working fine but not allowing to insert single quote. Then I tryed with
PreparedStatement which is allowing single quote but not allowing bulk data. The following error i am getting.

i need to copy/import data and tables from an MS access database into oracle 9i database. the situation is each time i login to my forms applicatin i will need to do that. any idea pls...
the access db is frequently updated. so when i login into my forms application it needs to be reimport the data from access db. can any1 pls help me?

To my opinion, there are 3 potential approaches :
1. rewrite the application, that data are stored directly in the oracle database
or the program writes flat files somewhere to the file system which are able getting
imported from the target instance on daily basis or job driven;
2. The "Access-driven approach" : link oracle tables into the MS-Access application
using an ODBC-connection and build a macro in Access which is exporting the stuff to
the target instance; in order to do so, the Oracle Client and ODBC-Drivers needs to
get installed on the PC where MS-Access is started to start the exportation process
(which is probably yours).
You may then create tables in the target instance and link them from within Access
using ODBC as the datasource
3. The "Oracle driven approach". explained in detail here, never tried it, but maybe
worth a look

Basically, install the Oracle Software on a PC, configure an ODBC-Connection and start a
Listener there;
The target instance (which may no run on a UNIX system) is now able to commuincate
with the local running listener on your PC which itself is instantiating a connection to
the Access "Database" using the ODBC-Connection.
In this way, your PC acts as a database server from the Oracle Net point of view.
In theory, this could even work, depending on the ability to connect from the
instance server directly to the given IP of your PC (Security ?? Hmmmz)

I'm experiencing troubles with a step of the how to guide "push Data into BW from XI".
When i want to create the proxy in the BW system (step 10), i'm asked for an access key for the object R3TR CLAS CL_<name of the prefix>_<name of message interface>
I think that access keys are needed when an object has to be modified. Do I really have to modify this SAP object ? I don't really feel like destroying the whole system...

Hi Benjamin,
you are not destroying anything in the system. Since you generating a class for the implementation of the proxy within the SAP name space, you are asked for the access key (you can register developers and objects via the OSS).
The system behavior depends on the setting of the system, whether changes are are recorded, etc..
Ask your basis administrator, who should be able to assist you.

Importing data into tables with grant access (sql developer 3.2)

Hello,
I want to import data into a table PAY_BALANCE_BATCH_LINES which is an interface table. I'm logged in to a schema (APPS) and this table belongs to the HR schema. However, if you look at the grants, the APPS schema has all access to this particular table. In TOAD, this used to work great.
But in sqldeveloper, when I filter the tables dropdown, I am not able to find this table. Since this is my primary way of uploading data I'm not sure how else I can get access to upload data into this table. I don't know the password for the HR schema by the way.
Is there a way out?

Scroll down the tree to the 'Other Users' node, expand it, and then drill down into HR > Tables. Then do your import.
For an alternative browser, right-click on your connection in the tree and open a Schema Browser.

This configuration is weird little bit. There is MatchExpression /app1 and MatchExpression /app2 and at the same time two <Location /weblogic> sections. Are you sure you understand what that configuration stands for?

I do not use or support ACCESS however I know at lot of places have ACCESS front-end's to Oracle so it ought to be possible, if the data does not need a lot of reformatting, to insert the data into Oracle from Access.
You would also have the option of extracting the data into delimited data files and loading those into Oracle via sqlldr.
At least one application we have collects data from ACCESS into SQL Server and then sends data to Oracle via a Linked Database.
The direct insert from ACCESS to Oracle seems best but if you also need data from elsewhere or have extensive reformatting (perhaps normalization) to perform also one of the other techniques may work better.
