Submitting An Apex form into the Seeded Workflows
Hi all,
I am currently working on a request form that we will use for any new stock items and I want to dump the request, once submitted , into the standard workflows for Inventory like the requisitions workflow for internet procurement.
I basically want to route the requests to supervisors using standard workflows and then once approved have the request routed to our user who maintains our Inventory master for entry via seeded forms in the apps. The entry and request form is basically same principle as creating an email template that gets forwarded to everyone but I intend to add via APEX entry form to an Inventory menu within Oracle and then once submitted have the process utilize workflow for approvals and then have the form automatically routed to Inventory so It can be added into Oracle via standard form entry through the applications.
I am unsure how I actually call workflow from within Apex. Has anyne done something similar?

the seeded workflows within Oracle applications specifically - PO Requistions Approval. I need to reload workflow Builder on my machine to get the actual technical name for the workflow out of the database but basically any seeded supervisor driven workflow would work to route the requests. PO/Inventory workflows made the most sense.

What I'm trying to do is to allow users to fill out all the certificate data and upload a file in an APEX form. Once submitted the file should be uploaded in the USER_FILES table and all the fields along with CERT_ID, which is the foreign key pointing to the file in the USER_FILES table to be populated to the CERTIFICATES table. APEX wizard forms are based on one table and I'm unable to build form on both tables.
That's why I've created a view (V_CERT_FILES) on both tables and using INSTEAD OF trigger to insert/update both tables. I've done this before and updating this kind of views works perfect. Here is where the problem comes, if I'm updating the view all the data is updated correctly, but if I'm inserting into the view all the fields are populated at CERTIFICATES table, but for USER_FILES only the fields FILE_ID and LAST_UPDATE_DATE are populated. The rest three regarding the LOB are missing: BLOB_CONTENT, FILENAME, MIMETYPE. There are no errors when running this from APEX, but If I try to insert into the view from SQLDeveloper, I got this error:
ORA-22816: unsupported feature with RETURNING clause
ORA-06512: at line 1
As far as I know RETURNING clause in not supported in INSTEAD of triggers, although I didn't have any RETURNING clauses in my trigger (body is below).
Now the interesting stuff, after long tracing I found why this is happening:
First, insert is executed and the BLOB along with all its properties are uploaded to wwv_flow_file_objects$.
Then the following insert is executed to populate all the fields except the BLOB and it's properties, rowid is RETURNED, but as we know RETURNING clause is not supported in INSTEAD OF triggers, that's why I got error:

Next my trigger gets in action, sequences are generated, CERTIFICATES table is populated and then USER_FILES, but only the FILE_ID and LAST_UPDATE_DATE.
Finally update is fired against my view (V_CERT_FILES), reading data from wwv_flow_files it populates BLOB_CONTENT, MIMETYPE and FILENAME fields at the specific rowid in V_CERT_FILES, the one returned from the insert at the beginning. Last, file is deleted from wwv_flow_files.
I'm using sequences for the primary keys, this is only the body of the INSTEAD OF trigger:

I'm surprised that I wasn't able to find a valuable source of information regarding this problem, only MOS note about running SQLoader against view with CLOB column and INSTEAD OF trigger. The solution would be to ran it against base table, MOS ID 795956.1.
Maybe I'm missing something and that's why I decided to share my problem here. So my question is how do you create this kind of architecture, insert into two tables with a relation between them in APEX ? I read a lot in the Internet, some advices were for creating custom form with APEX API, create a custom ARP, create two ARP or create a PL/SQL procedure for handing the DML?

Saving a interactive form into the application
hi gurus,
I have developed an application which contains interactive form design by getting values from the back end r/3 system.
The PDF is being populated by getting the data from the back end.Now my problem is that I need to open this PDF in an external window.
Earlier I have embed this interactive form in a view and the view contains the PDF, now the PDF should be opened in a external window and does be in the view.
So I thought of saving the file into the src/mimes/components and then call the PDF on file download.
Can you help me in this issue.

I do have a question for deactivate the seeded worflow process. Which means the current process i am not going to use anywhere. I needed to create the new process for Seeded worflow why because this is the worflow having some standard Procedure. Those procedure only will meet my requirement. In such case i wanted to create new processes in that going to call seeded procedure.
Could you please help me out how deacivate the seeded processes from Oracle Standard workflow ( Name of the workflow is HZ USER CREATION API Workflow) Now current they are created for Customer creation processes. My requirement is need to Create the new process for User-Id creation.

In the same workflow i need to create new process for user_id creation. The existing workflow process is working for only customer creation. Thats why i need to deactivate the current process after that need to create new process for user-id creation. First time i am doing such kind of activities. Please guide me how to do?

Hi,
We have a workflow XYZ. After every two-three days our entity structure is getting refreshed - so new entities comes in.
Every time we have to manually add these new entities to the workflow and assign owners to it.
Please let me know if there is any option to automate the process.

Currently, ExportPDF can only handle 1 file at a time. Adobe Acrobat can do batch export to Excel, however.
This idea has already been added to the ExportPDF Ideas list ("Export multiple..."). If you'd like to see this improvement to ExportPDF, please add your vote or comment here.

Basically, the problem arose when I got a package from the Veterans Administration requiring me to fill out some complicated forms. Using my equipment and Firfox, I have been unable to do it.

I have multiple forms that are being created. In some cases I require both forms submitted. Both forms have the same information in the top portion. Is it possible to link the form fields so that once populated it auto populates the corresponding fields in the other form? I can't combine the two forms into one because management thinks that's confusing. Any help is appreciated.
It's really less of an Acrobat vs. Reader issue than it is the security restrictions that are the default. For example, the "global" object that can be accessed via JavaScript can be used for this, but the user has to allow for it by setting a preference. Other security restrictions can be bypassed if the user installs a custom folder-level JavaScript file.

PASSING DATA FROM FORM INTO REPORT (how to on the same page)
Hello everybody
yes, i know it is built in a two pages design where the first holds the form and the second the report, but I want it both on the same page so that one can see what he has on the report while adds his own row to the table. Well I could do creating a form and then editing the page and then add another region. Alright. But then i dont know how to relate them together so that the data pass from the form to the report.
Besides, the Form for filling the data needs to pass them to two separate tables, because one table contains the particulars of the location and the other the comments about each store. Easy to do that on PHP and mysql but here I am lost.
Second thing that is driving me nuts is that I created a table named location so as to street postcode for a store, and another one for evaluation so that customers or workers add a a row evaluating services etc.
Well, I am trying to create that form i first talked about that would hold all the fields and I am doing it out of a SQL query that picks the definitions from both tables. My XE is completely empty from any leftovers of other applications etc. I make the equijoin alright

well, if that form is made up of both tables, it will definitively have to have something in common with them! how is the item name suppose to have another name? it is made with the wizzard so supposedly the wizzard should know it but I have tried for two days 14 hours each day.

At the end of the day, he or she goes into the web fills the form and clicks the botton. Then, he or she has added a row to the form. As simple as that. But bear in mind that that form is comprised of data about the address and the comments, which are completely different entities, and not all elements of each entity is to appear in the report. That is why they have to go to two tables on the background and then the report pick from each table what it wants to show publiclly.
What I am actually trying to do is passing the values from the form into the two separate tables Location and Evaluation. Then I have already placed a select query under the report and I have seen that it updates itself as I manually filled the two tables so this process works fine. What I need is, instead of filling the tables manually as I am doing, fill them through the completion of the textfields of the form. This is so because not all the fields have to be shown on the report, for example, the person reporting will remain anonimous and that is something I am able to do by simply not including him in the select query of the report.
I am like exploring now the edit page possibilities and indeed I have discovered that the button of the Form that says create is associated with a Insert request on the database. Also i have seen that the way this works is by something like this P3_POSTCODE, &P3_POSTCODE where P3 is the item and &P3 is the value that is in the textfield associated with that item name.

Is it possible to save an Oracle Form in the database? I have some forms thah require checking to see if they access various tables. I'd like to load the forms into the database and query the forms metadata, but not being a forms person I'm not sure if this is possible.

Yes and no. Yes if its standalone and no if its part of Apps, this is because Apps forms are structured so that their dependent modules are all stored as files. In Forms 9i (not yet released) you will not be able to store Forms modules in the database altogether. -
Embedding a google form into wiki
I am using the xserve for a wiki site and I would like to be able to embed a google form into the wiki page. I can do this in wikispaces, but I would like to have it on our own wiki site. I would also like to embed a video that same way. Can this be done on the wiki site?

We can use fragments for such requirements but at the end when you add a fragment only the xfo is copied not the data.
so ideally this is not possible in Adobe forms atleast for now. so we need to have links to launch the child form.

Embedding an existing Adobe Form into a Webdynpro Application
Hi Everyone,
I have an existing adobe form created thro transaction SFP and its working well.
I need to launch the form with a Webdynpro application now. I was able to embed the adobe form into the Webdynpro View. The View's context is supposed to pick up the context of the adobe form automatically.
However I am getting the following error - Either your Interactive form UI element is not bound to a context or a corresponding context does not exist.
I am not sure how to proceed coz the I executed the Adobe from in SFP and its working perfectly and obviously its bound to a context/ interface.
Any Ideas?

You are right. This time I could bind the context from my interface (even though it was ABAP based).
I have one quick one for you - you mentioned earlier that when we embed an existing form into Web. View, we cannot have an Interactive form even when we check the 'enabled' property. Can you throw more light onto this pls?
The runtime error that i am encountering now says :
Adobe Processing Exception: PDF is not interactive. Data can be only imported into Interactive forms.
the source text of error is:

Installing a premade form into a pdf
I am using acrobat 10 pro and windows 7. My company has several files of their manuals. These files are interactive. Clicking on a PayPal logo within the document takes the user to a PayPal page that is a page made up for our company, where people can pay for their courses.
Looking at the action for this link shows a one line of code. The file I was given from PayPal consists of 5 lines of code. How do I install this form into the pdf so it works? When I try to insert this into the document, it just stays the same way.
The document has gone though livecycle designer. I have added fields for people's address, name, etc.. I tried to get this PayPal file in before any changes were made to the PDF and also after opening it in Designer.
I would like some help inserting this so it works.That is HTML code. You can't put HTML code into a PDF! You must examine the HTML and understand what it does; perhaps it can be translated to the same concept in a PDF form.

What do you want the package to do ??
Incase you want to create a FORM based on a procedure then you could go to the Applications Tab and select that option and base it on a procedure that you created .
