Suddenly none of my core Apple apps   others open "... will not open because of a problem"

I was coding some in Sublime Text 2 and installed an extension. It said I may need to restart it to use it, so I did, but when I tried to open it back up, SL2 wouldn't open. I checked others, Safari, 1Password, App Store, iTunes, Software Update, Tweetbot, etc. won't open either, mostly core Apple apps and others that use webkit I guess.
I have no idea what would have caused it. As far as I know SL2 extensions are pretty sandboxed and safe, so I can't imagine it's that. (Not to mention it was a well-regarded extension: AdvancedFileCreate.)
Here's the error I get for Safari:

What exactly is going on?

ok - let me see if I understand the issue:
1. Everything is fine.
2. You installed an extension
3. Now there is a problem.
Seems obvious to me - remove the extension and see if that fixes it.

This morning, I made a new "customer" and downloaded the "trial version" of CC2014 photoshop. This resulted a working CC2014. I hope Adobe can fix my "real" account which does not work at this time.
    Anyone else tried this?

I don't think everyone with a Mac is having basic problems with Photoshop 2014.1.
What exact versions do you have in each case?  Is your updated version 2014.1, while the "new customer" version is 2014.0?  Choose Help - System Info to see.
Sounds like, given your specific system, you may want to try a full clean and reinstall, or maybe a downgrade to 2014.0 until 2014.1.1 or 2014.2 comes out.  I think the older versions are available through the Creative Cloud application.

  • I have installed the most recent version of Snow Leopard on my MAC, and I am trying to install Mountain Lion from the Apple Store.  It will not install, because it says I do not have 2GB of memory, even though I have over 200GB available.  Please help.

I have installed the most recent version of Snow Leopard on my MAC, and I am trying to install Mountain Lion from the Apple Store.  It will not install, because it says I do not have 2GB of memory, even though I have over 200GB available.  Please help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open  > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there

there is a blue dot next to my face book app and it will not open. how do i get it to open?

I had a year long CC membership that expired at the beginning of the October.
After realizing that, I attempted to start a free trial of photoshop to work on a project. My Adobe account states that i'm on a trial, but my (Mac) dashboard CC app won't allow me to start the program. I have reinstalled both Creative Cloud and Photoshop CC but still get this message.

  • My last apps I purchased will not open or show on screen

My last two apps I purchased will not open, even though I have been charged  through paypal!

    1. Checked all your homescreens for them
    2. Have you hidden them by setting an age rating on Settings>General>Restrictions> Apps ?

  • I purchased an App and it will not open

I purchased an App from apple, Document Pro, seller Nick Maskill- I downloaded the App, but I can not open any of the folders, I then uninstalled the app and rein stalled the app again, but still it will not open any of the folders.

Looks like the best course of action.
Looking at this app in the Mac App Store and the other apps from this developer it does not appear that they were very good. Poor ratings and reviews on all of them.
Glad you're able to get a refund.

  • HT5022 This is not Apple like, the installer will not install because it reports 10.8 is not supported

This is not Apple like, the installer for  AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
will not install because it reports 10.8 is not supported. So how do I configure my older Airport Express

AirPort 5.6 won't install under Mountain Lion, but it will run once it is.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
    Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder.

  • App update page will not open, help.

When using the app's store update in which it says there is 3 updates, the update page will not open, just a blank page, can anybody help?

There is a problem with Apple’s servers that only they can fix. The problem has been going on for several days. You can try rebooting first and see if that gets the apps to show up in the updates tab.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
This is a workaround only and not a fix. If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    Select update on the Apps
Hopefully the red notification number will go away after the updates are applied.
Another option is to update your apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the updated apps to the iPad.
    1. Launch iTunes
    2. Click on Apps in the list under the Library heading in the left Sidebar.
Click on Updates at the top in the window on the right
    Update all of the apps
Connect your iPad and Sync with iTunes
If you do not see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu at the top.

  • I have a 2006 macbook and tried to load pages app and it will not open

I have a macbook that was purchase in 2006 and wanted to know was pages, keynote and numbers already installed on the computer prior to purchase. If so where would it be located. If not. I already purchased and downloaded it but it will not open on the macbook, it's showing that it's only an app for iPad/iPhone.

The iWork suite (Pages / Numbers / Keynote) is not part of your computers OS, and would be a seperate installation.
If you do have it, it would be in your applications folder, in a second folder entitled "iWork"
As your computer has an old OS (10.5.8), you would not be able to download these app's, as they require an OS version of 10.7 or higher.
Your OS will support iWork 08 or iWork 09, and if you have an iWork installation disc, you can install it on this computer.  If you don't have an iWork installation disc you can likely purchase one off of ebay.

  • IWork apps start but will not open a doc nor start a new doc. Just quits!

I have just bought a new 15" Macbook pro with Mavericks. It has Pages, Numbers and Keynote (apparantly) installed.
I have updated to Mavericks 10.9.2 and the Appstore offered updates to Pages, Numbers and Keynote which I did.
However, when I start any of these apps, the relevent menu appears, the relevent icon appears on the dock but that is all!
The 'New' menu item does nothing. The 'Open' item opens a file selection window but after selecting a (relevent) file the app
quits with a message 'Pages (or Numbers or Keynote) quit unexpectedly'. Even the 'About' menu does nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas?  (I have sent a report to Apple - but don't really expect any response.)

    For anyones info . . .
    I solved this problem myself.
    I removed all iwork apps.
I was unable to re-install iwork apps because the Appstore insisted they were already installed !
    So . . .
    1. Use 'CleanMyMac' and remove ALL trace of iwork, pages, numbers and keynote
    2. Install iWork 09 - I borrowed a coleague's DVD
    3. Install iwork 09.3 update - as above
    4. The Appstore then re-offered a Pages, Numbers and Keynote update
    5. Do the updates
Voila! - the apps now work OK
