Suggestions for email service on E71

I want to signup for a new email address and before I do I want to make sure it is completely compatible with my phone(E71) and can use all its features(Whatever they maybe).
Could you guys suggest a service? For starts, I'm thinking Gmail is the best solution as of now.
Thanks

Gmail is perfect for use on the E71-1 as it offers both POP and IMAP protocols according to your usage requirements and it is free!
You could also consider another local mail provider, as long as they support POP/IMAP you should be fine,
Exchange is possible as well if you are in a corporate division that has an exchange server, if not it is unlikely you would be able to use this type of mail

Any suggestions for 3G service in Kenya?

If that's a problem with your cable company, change the company.
If your cable company is not able to provide you with a cable modem which gets you full performance for their service why would you bother with that company or try to make it better than them?
If you subscribe to a 100 Mbit/s service they must be able to provide you with a modem that does 100 Mbit/s and be able to demonstrate you 100 Mbit/s on your cable.
If they are unable to provide you with a modem which does 100 Mbit/s and thus cannot demonstrate that the service they have installed in fact can do 100 Mbit/s but only give you a 50 Mbit/s because that's the best they have, why bother buying yourself a better modem to find out whether or not their service does what it promises or not??
In addition, an integrated device won't get you better performance. On the contrary, consumer devices are generally single CPU (and core) devices. It's usually running some Linux or similar. If a single process gets overloaded it can drag down the performance of the whole device. For instance, let's say there is a bug in the print server software of the router. You print something and it hangs and the print server process on the router runs wild. Now the CPU is fully loaded and the routing performance will go down. If there is a bug in the routing software it will bring down the whole device and you can't even print.
You'll get the best performance if you use dedicated devices because then one device cannot overload another. Get a modem. Get a wireless ethernet router. Get a printer with integrated print server. That's far better.
It's like the all-purpose audio device compared to components...

  • What do you suggest for phone service provider?

I think many of the SW users (including myself) will be jealous of your Google Fiber! :)An easy transition would be to look at a BYOB hosted voice provider. The good news is that there are hundreds to choose from, the bad news is that there are hundreds to choose from!
You don't mention how many phones you have, but the beauty of hosted voice is that you can start with 1 line and scale as you need. Many plans include new, free phones as well as unlimited usage, all for a monthly fee. Most hosted providers share similar feature sets (IM/Chat/Presence, Reporting, VM to Email, IVR etc), but making a suggestion will require a little more digging on your current environment and planned growth, as well as your (and management) expectations/requirements.Happy to help, PM me with the details and I can help guide you and bring you multiple good...

We are in Kansas City and Google Fiber is so prominent and we are switching from Time Warner where phone service is free with the internet and services;  Google Fiber does not have phone service and I am not ready for my business line to be on a mobile phone!  There was the Magic Jack that came out that runs off internet through the computer or router;  What is out there now?  What does anyone suggest?

  • Suggestions for Email-Only Host?

I'm building a new, improved version of my website with iWeb and will be publishing it with my domain name. My old website under that name on another web host. My current host also hosts my domain name email accounts. And here's the problem with the switch- iWeb doesn't support custom-named email accounts.
Does anyone have suggestions where I could host just my email? (My domain is registered with Network Solutions and they said it's perfectly fine to have the website and email hosted on different servers.) I could keep the email on the old site, but it's $12/month...I was hoping to find something cheaper. I've heard that Google Aps will host your email for free. Anyone have experience with them? Any other ideas??
    Thanks!

I ended up with so many sites on my server that it would take me forever to go round all the individual web mail boxes to check them.
Now I have a Gmail address for each one and pick them all up in Mac Mail - much easier!
Gmail has a good spam blocker and the "notifier" is pretty neat.
I have my email addresses as [email protected]
If you want an invitation to Gmail, click on my name in the sidebar to email me and I will get one to you.

  • Suggestions For Prepaid Service

When I bought a $80.00 for about 3 months, Verizon started a new plan that is called $70.00 a month.   The problem is that at the Family Dollar there are
no $70.00 cards to purchase so I can save $10 extra for other things.    When will this come into effect the $70 cards?      Also the availability of Verizon
prepaid cards are very limited around here in my local area and I don't want to pay for one online because of shipping costs.   I have already talked to someone in customer service about this, and he said post a message here.

As long as your account balance is at least the minimum required for your monthly price plan, your plan will activate. You can use any card combination to put money on your account when you have a monthly plan on prepaid. (example: a 50.00 card and a 20.00 card would give you enough to activate the 70.00 plan.) Just make sure you request the new 70.00 plan before adding the money. Hope this helps.

  • Suggestion for Ping service

Since Apple doesn't seem to have a general feedback option, I'll post it here. I actually love Ping and I've found some great music in the suggestions. BUT - there's a real hangup in the useability of the service. This morning I bough a song I'd heard on the radio and Ping came up with suggestions. I listened to a couple and liked them, so I clicked "buy" on one of the songs. The list changed, and gave me a new list based on that song. Well, I wanted songs from the prior list, but there was no way to get back to it. I clicked the back button in iTunes and it took me back to the store. Poof - all of the Ping suggestions were gone, never to be found again. Why doesn't Ping retain suggestions or let you move through them like Netflix does? The Ping buttons in the playlist don't actually "ping" the songs. Great service, but seriously missing some very basic elements to make it useable. I want to be able to click a song and ping it without having to re-buy the song or write down everything I like from the Ping list. I would have bought more songs if I could have navigated through the Ping lists.
    Thanks.

  • Getting a second server, suggestions for which services to put on each?

Hi we currently have one Xserve (G5) which runs all our services, but are about to get a new Xserve and I would like a bit of guidance as to which services I should keep together on one server and which I should move.
Because the two servers can't run the same OS (one leopard one snow leopard) I know there are some things I cant do, like OD replicas.
But is it best to keep OD, DNS,AFP, DHCP on the newer server and move other services to the older one.
We use Kerio for mail/cal, Rumpus for FTP and Retrospect for backup, also have iChat server and wiki server running.

It depends a bit on number of CPUs, RAM and such in the old machine.
But generally I would consider the old one for lighter ("backup") duty putting most, all essential services, in the new machine.
If you run Kerio with the "OD connection" (users and groups from OD) and put the OD in the SLS (new machine) and Kerio in the old LS the "Connected to a directory service" must be used/work.
This can mean if the SLS stops responding (Kerberos/LDAP) for some reason mail accounts will not be present in Kerio until that is fixed - incoming mail for those accounts will "fail".
DNS can be used on both preferably setup as master/primary and slave/secondary.
What machine to run Retrospect on depends on what version/license ("multiple servers" license? - if not you might not be able to use Retrospect Remote on one of the servers), backup type/backup device and other hardware (SCSI card?) used. If using removable backup disks I'd probably use the G5 for Retrospect, especially if it's the older ≤ 6.1.x version, otherwise probably the newer Intel machine.
I haven't used Retrospect to backup system/configuration, just data.

  • Retrying Email Service fails for the stalled Operations:

    Hi,
Some of the send email operations randomly fails due to invalid recipients address or some connectivity issues with SMTP server. Once we do the corrections to the service, and retry those stalled operations, its erring out with Java Nullpointer exception.
Stalled operations work fine for other operations except for email service. Is this a Engineering issue with the Adobe design or do we need to change any configuration settings to make that work?
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi Aashish,
Thanks for the response. Yes, it works good for new operations. It fails with Null pointer exception if I retry the stalled ones after corrections.
This was the initial error -
Failed to connect to email server: adobemailer@xxxxx. Reason: Could not connect to SMTP host: xxxxx, port: 25, response: 421: com.adobe.idp.dsc.email.ConnectionFailedException: Failed to connect to email server: adobemailer@xxxxx. Reason: Could not connect to SMTP host: xxxxx, port: 25, response: 421
We corrected the problems with SMTP server and when we retried this stalled operation, this is what we see -
( Email has an attachment, I 'm thinking adobe is not catching up the attachments when I retry it again)

  • Suggestion for Apple Mail

I don't use Apple Mail regularly myself, but here's a suggestion for email client developers everywhere. Maybe some clients already do this?
I've lost count of the number of times that I've sent an email off but forgotten to attach a file. Or the number of times I've received an email absent of an intended attachment.
What about this? The email client looks for the word 'attach', 'attachment', 'attachments', etc, and if there is no attachment, the system pops up an alert asking the user "Are you sure you don't want to attach a file to this email?". Obviously the alert could be suppressed via preferences. I know this won't solve the problem entirely, but my guess is that a great many emails that are sent with an attachment include the phrase "I attach" or "Attached is", something like that.
Payment gratefully accepted for this worldwide convenience and efficiency gain!
    Cheers, Steven

Steven, don't tell us about it. We are just other users (with rare exceptions). We can't do anything about your suggestion. Go to the Mac OS X tab above and then Tiger and then Feedback and then give feedback about Mail. The Mail developers are more apt to see it then, but posting in the user-to-user technical help discussions the developers are not likely to see it.

  • I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • Is there an EASY way to submit podcasts to the itunes store? i've tried creating podcasts in garageband, then somewhere after wordpress  itunes  doesn't recognize the feed. my process has been (i am open to suggestions for other free and EASY services/me

is there an EASY way to submit podcasts to the itunes store? i've tried creating podcasts in garageband, then somewhere after wordpress  itunes  doesn't recognize the feed.
my process has been (i am open to suggestions for other free and EASY services/methods):
garageband : create & edit audio. add 1400x1400 image.
    share to itunes.
    drag file to desktop.
upload .m4a file to google drive.
create a link post in wordpress using "podcast" tag & create "podcast" category.
click on "entries rss" in wordpress, which takes me to the rss subscribe page (which is basically just my wordpress address with "/feed" at the end.
    i copy this url.
go to itunes store > then "submit a podcast"
itunes gives me the error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed."
when i try to subscribe to my podcast in itunes, it does, but gives me no episodes available.
i went back into wordpress and changed settings/ reading settings to : "full text" from "summary"
    still the same error message.
i added a feedburner step after wordpress but got the same errors. i don't think i should have to add feedburner.
wordpress seems to be encapsulating the rss, what am i doing wrong?
this so much easier when you could go directly from garage band to iweb to mobileme; i miss those apple days (also idisk).

if anyone has a super EASY process, i would LOVE to know what it is. EASY, meaning no html and also free. there are many free online storage systems available, many of which i currently use. the above process was just me trying to figure it out, if you have an easier method, please share. thank you so much!

  • HT201320 Does my email service provider have to provide the ability for me to create an IMAP email account in order for me to create Sub-folders within Apple Mail?

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.

  • In August installed PE12  on Windows Vista with incorrect Sharing Preference for Email Client. Shows default Adobe Email Service How do I change it to Windows Mail?

Had PE6 previously to installing PE12 on Windows Vista.  PE 12 installation went OK except for the Sharing Preference for the Email Client. Existing  PE12 client is the default Adobe email service not the correct Windows Mail for Vista. How do I make this change..

    Hi,
I think that for PSE 12, you may need to switch to Windows Live Mail
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=29224
You may find that you then also need the following fix.
Freeze or error “There is no email program” | Share via email | Elements Organizer | Windows 7
I think that the problem is that the new versions of PSE do not know where to look for the mail client.
