Summarize or filter entries to another table

Hello,
please forgive my bad english but I am not a native speaker!
I have a table:
A..........B..............C..........D............E
Name.......CalendarWeek...Date.......Amount 1.....Amount 2
Tom........1..............05.01.09....100,00......20,00
Susan......1..............05.01.09.....50,00......00,00
Rob........1..............05.01.09....120,00......40,00
Tom........2..............13.01.09....140,00......30,00
Steve......2..............13.01.09....110,00......20,00
Tom........3..............22.01.09.....80,00......00,00
Susan......3..............22.01.09.....70,00......20,00
Tom........4..............29.01.09....100,00......20,00
Rob........4..............29.01.09....200,00......20,00
I would like to filter out one certain name and put all corresponding entries in another table, i.e. like this:
A..........B..............C..........D............E
Name.......CalendarWeek...Date.......Amount 1.....Amount 2
Tom........1..............05.01.09....100,00......20,00
Tom........2..............13.01.09....140,00......30,00
Tom........3..............22.01.09.....80,00......00,00
Tom........4..............29.01.09....100,00......20,00
I guess if I am able to do this I can figure out how to i.e. get certain weeks as well?
A..........B..............C..........D............E
Name.......CalendarWeek...Date.......Amount 1.....Amount 2
Tom........3..............22.01.09.....80,00......00,00
Susan......3..............22.01.09.....70,00......20,00
I don´t wanna reorganize or filter in the orginal table since I need the results saved on a new table for printing and archiving.
Thanks in advance
Tom

Tom,
Another approach you may explore is to use the new Category feature of Numbers '09. Using your sample with a few more data rows, three identical tables were created.
The Employee Table is categorized first by name and sub-categorized by week number while the Weekly table is categorized in reverse. Both are sorted by date, but the rows jump into place based on the categories as they are added. The category rows have been filled in with a darker green while a lighter green was used to fill the sub-categories in order to follow the content of the table visually.
Adding rows to these tables can be somewhat unnerving because the completion of a cell will immediately move the new row to its proper category, so a third table, identical to the other two except that no categories are defined, is created. Data on these rows is copied to the bottom of the other two tables which become properly updated immediately.
Formatting category rows is quite limited, but you are able to put subtotals in appropriate cells and add a fill color to make them stand out. Whatever formatting you apply to one category row is automatically carried to the other category rows of that level. More information is, of course, found under "Help".
Also illustrated below is the capability of collapsing the categories so that only subtotals by week are shown.

  • SQL select a concatination of entries from another table

I am trying to select a few columns from one table and then add another column that is a concatination or names from another table that referances it as below. Is this possible to do in one select statement?
    table x1
    ID NAME
    1 Bob
    1 Tom
    2 Bill
    table x2
    ID NAMES
    1 Bob, Tom
    2 Bill
    3

    You mean string aggregation?
If yes, then it is possible like this, if you are on 10g.
    SQL> create table x1 (id,name)
      2  as
3  select 1, 'Bob' from dual union all
4  select 1, 'Tom' from dual union all
5  select 2, 'Bill' from dual
      6  /
    Tabel is aangemaakt.
    SQL> select id
      2       , rtrim(n,', ') names
      3    from ( select id
      4                , n
      5                , rn
      6             from x1
      7            model
      8                  partition by (id)
9                  dimension by (row_number() over (partition by id order by null) rn)
    10                  measures (cast(name as varchar2(20)) n)
    11                  rules
    12                  ( n[any] order by rn desc = n[cv()] || ', ' || n[cv()+1]
    13                  )
    14         )
    15   where rn = 1
    16  /
            ID NAMES
             1 Bob, Tom
             2 Bill
2 rijen zijn geselecteerd. There are several other (slower) techniques possible as well. You can find them by using the search function on this forum.

  • Duplicating entry in 2 tables

    Hi,
I am looking for some help on how to do the following:
I use Number to track my finances. I have two tables - one for my checking account and the other one for my cash account. When I withdraw cash from my checking account I record a transfer or debit transaction in my checking account table (in the type column of this table I enter "transfer" and in the category column of this table I enter "cash account"); Obviously I have to record a matching transaction in my cash account where the category column shall read "checking account". Both records represent one and the same transaction. In order not to enter this transaction twice I would like to "automate" this process so that once I enter the transaction in either of the two table (checking or cash) the matching entry automatically appears in the other table. Is there any way to do this.
    Thank you,
    Evgeny

Evgeny, you got me on this one. It is easy to transfer an entry to another table if you aren't also making manual entries in the other table. It gets difficult when you want to be able to make manual entries in both tables, you would like the entries to be in order (by date I assume) and when you want entries to duplicate in both directions, depending on which table you made the entry. Or maybe it's easy and I just haven't got it yet. If I come up with something I'll post it here. Right now I'm stumped.

  • What are the tables that Contains DTP Filter Entries

    Hello,
for the filter entries on a DTP Process I found the table RSBKSELECT "Selections for DTP Request (Summary)". But that holds only value which are done generic by Formula etc. but not the information which are entered manual.
Does anybody knows the table for the rest of entries ??
I need this Information to Report these Filter as Selectioncriteria.
    Thank for any help
    Henning

    Hi,
Please note that I was able to link the tables by this kind of code:
"Get the request from the cube, to identify them.
        CALL FUNCTION 'RSSM_ICUBE_REQUESTS_GET'
          EXPORTING
            i_infocube     = LV_IC
          IMPORTING
            e_t_request    = LT_REQUEST
          EXCEPTIONS
            wrong_infocube = 1
            internal_error = 2
            others         = 3.
    "Check each request
        LOOP AT LT_REQUEST INTO LS_REQUEST.
"Populate LV_REQUID_CHAR to be able to read the table RSBKSELECT
"The key is : Request id, without leading 0, right justified, and shifted one time to the left.
          LV_REQUID_CHAR = LS_REQUEST-PARTNR.
SHIFT LV_REQUID_CHAR LEFT DELETING LEADING '0'.
SHIFT LV_REQUID_CHAR RIGHT DELETING TRAILING SPACE.
          SHIFT LV_REQUID_CHAR LEFT.
          "Get the filters
          SELECT  *
            INTO TABLE LT_RSBKSELECT
            FROM RSBKSELECT
            WHERE REQUID = LV_REQUID_CHAR.
    ENDLOOP.
The internal table LT_RSBKSELECT will now contains all the filters used by the DTP.
It is way better than using the field that contains the concatenation of all filters since it is limited to 255 characters.
    Hope it helps.

  • Where Is Table That Contains DTP Filter Entries?

    Hi,
I am trying to find the table where my "Filter" entries for a DTP are contained.  I would like to use these entries in my start routine.  In the old 3.5, the table was RSSELDONE, but I can't seem to find the NW04S version of this table.
    Thanks for your help.

    P-Dub:
To date I have not found a table that specifically contains the DTP filter entries.  If you are looking for a way to access this information from a transformation though, you may reference following logic:
create an internal table (itab) of type RSBK_S_RANGE in the local portion of a start routine.
fill the internal table (itab) as follows:
    itab[] = p_r_request->GET_TH_RANGE( ).
The selection criteria of the DTP will then be available within your transformation in the internal table itab.
All DTP attributes at run time can be accessed in this way.  For a list of the methods available, look at the interface if_rsbk_request_admintab_view, know as p_r_request in the start routine.

  • Functional module to get table entries in another system

    Hi all,
Is there any functional module with which we can get the data of a table which

    Thanks and Regads, Pradeep

    Hi  Pradeep
you can acess another table in the database directly .Follow this way.
1 transaction code : dbco   : configuration about database that you would like to connect
2.tell basis team to set system file (example Oracle )  to know the database.
3.coding , you can use code below to select the data from another database by native SQL .

    DATA carrid_wa TYPE scarr-carrid.
    DATA lv_int  TYPE i.

  • Loading data from one table to another table

I need to load the data (data conversion) from one table to 3 different table.
I have to load the data from Source table to following 3 target tables.
So Consumer table has email pk and it has relationship with CONSUMER_RCV table and CONSUMER_RCV
table has relationship with CONSUMER_ATTR table. I am doing right now with pl/sql but I am looking
to use MULTI INSERT or SQL*LOADER or another efficient way.
I tried with MultiInsert but it getting failed as it's violating Unique Constraints as source table might contains
    Duplicate emails.
Could you please show me how I can load the data efficiently?
Also I need to load in CONSUMER_ATTR table from CONTACT table which has ATTR1, ATTR2 columns.
so My mapping will be ...
Contact.email, first_name, last_name will go into Consumer table
then in CONSUMER_RCV, I generate the id column value by sequence, load email and DATE_CREATEd from contact table
And rest of the value is hard coded
Then in CONSUMER_ATTR table I will generate the CONSUMER_ATTR_id through sequence, for ID, will use the same
id column value which I have generated by sequence in CONSUMER_RCV, then put the attr_type = 'ATTR1' and for
attr_value column I will insert the value from contact table's ATTR1 value,
Then generate another CONSUMER_ATTR_ID, will use the same id column value which I have generated by sequence
in CONSUMER_RCV, then put the attr_type = 'ATTR2' and for
attr_value column I will insert the value from contact table's ATTR2 value,
Please let me know if you need further explanation.
    I am using Oracle 9i R2.
    Please consider CONTACT is Source table, CONSUMER is a Target1, CONSUMER_RCV is a Target2 and CONSUMER_ATTR is a Target3

    HI Hema,
How are the entries related.. is it like for one entry in y table there are more than one entry in x table then you have to use loop with in loop , here are the both the conditions.
    1) For each entry in Y there are more than one entries in X
      sort y by quota trpid.
      sort x by quota trpid.
      loop at y.
loop at x where quota eq y-quota
                            and trpid eq y-trpid.
      z-value = x-value.
      append z.
      endloop.
      endloop.
    2) For each y there is one entry in x table.
    sort y by quota trpid.
      sort x by quota trpid.
      loop at y.
read table x with key quota = y-quota
                                trpid = y-trpid binary search.
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
      z-value = x-value.
      append z.
    Endif.
      endloop.

  • Copy selected values from a table control into another table control

    hi there,
as seen in the subject i need to copy selected values from a table control into another table control in the same screen. as i dont know much about table controls i made 2 table controls with the wizard and started to change the code... right now im totally messed up. nothing works anymore and i don't know where to start over.

    you're funny
i still don't get it... can't believe, there is no tutorial or sample code around how to copy multiple selected rows from a tc.

  • Creating a Detail Table Based on an Action in Another Table or Matrix to Display in the Same Report (Not a Drill-Through)

    Hello,
I was wondering if it's possible have a matrix which shows total credits by month and have drill-down groupings to display the invoice numbers for each credit.  Then, once the drill-down is expanded for a particular month, be able to click on the invoice
number and have another table under the matrix display the details of the invoice.
I don't really want a drill-through because that opens a different report in the window, what I want to be able to do is stay on the main report.  I also don't want to drill-into the invoice details from the matrix as that expands the matrix out and
makes it unruly and ugly.  I've been playing with subreports but not able to get what I want out of it.
I hope this makes sense - is there a way to do this in SSRS?
    Thanks!!

    Hi AvenueStuart,
After testing the issue in my environment, we can refer to the steps below to work around the issue:
Create a new table with the details of the invoice under the matrix.
Add a parameter named invoice which get available values from the invoice field in the dataset.
Right-click the [Sum(invoice)] cell to add an action with “Go to report” option, and specify the same report with the parameter below:
    Name: invoice
    Value: [invoice]
Right-click the table to add a filter in the table:
    Expression: [invoice]
    Operator: =
    Value: [@invoice]
If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.
    Thanks,

Thanks in advance , please help

    Hi,
This is a known issue in the previous SQL Server version and has been fixed in SQL Server 2012. You should be able to set 90 minutes and the change would be saved in SQL Server 2012.
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/346786/ssms-does-not-support-job-schedule-frequencies-greater-than-60-minutes
Currently, you may schedule the job to occur every 1 hour or you may refer to the suggestion by Latheesh to get around this.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • How to get the count of the entries in the table view

    Hello experts,
I have got a requirement where i need to display the total number of entries present in the table view, since the result comprises of several pages. This requirement is even applicable for the filter options in the table view i.e., if i use a filter it should count the total number of entries that satisfy the filter criteria.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vijayalakshmi

    hi,
its simple, just place an input field in the layout and display the cpunt in that field.
    for that do as below,
first in the layout of the page where you are giving tableview tab,in the next line give
    <b><htmlb:inputField id="Count"
                      value="<%=ln%>"
                      disabled = 'X'/></b>
to display the count in that input field which is disabled.
and if i am mot wrong in the Initialization event, you are writing select query right to populate internal table.
    after that write,
    <b>describe table it_mara lines ln.</b>
and define this ln in page attributes as type i.
do award points f it helps u,
    regards,

  • Form - how to auto update details & check another table as well

I have two tables : empinfo(all basic details of emp) and leaves(empid, empname, date etc)
I have a clanedar that displays the leave info and when i click on the date it loads a form that makes new entry to the leaves table ....
There are two things it should do : 1. autp populate details on the form when they enter empid i.e empname, email etc should be picked from main table and load on form (how do I achieve this??? ) sql...pl/sql...any guidance will be appreciated.
    2. when the emp has entered a leave it should check on another table for any shortage of particular skills(table has skill,empname,empid,min_emp_skil (number) )
how or what should be done to check this details and action accordingly.
    Please help.

    Start here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/bldapp_frm.htm#BCEBEDIC
By the time you understand create the form on a table, you will automatically learn how to add validations on that page or even a plsql process before the actual form DML runs
    Thanks

  • 30EA3 - Data filter entry problem

When I am browsing a table, on the data tab, and using a filter, sometimes the visible filter does not seem to be used.
If I clear the filter text, and press the refresh button, the old filter is still used.
If I enter a filter and press the refresh button, the new filter does not get used.
It seems like an on-leave window event is not happening when I leave the filter entry field.
it does not seem to make a difference if I am using the Oracle or Windows look-and-feel selection.

You have to press the "Enter" key for the changes in filter text field to take effect.

  • Removal of  Developer Key entry from DEVACCESS Table.

    Hi,
On table DEVACCESS, in QTY/DEV/Prod there is one person with Developer Key listed that I would like to remove,  User is no more working and now we want to delete the entry from this table which has the User name followed by the Developer key assigned.
Could any one guide me in deleting the Developer Key access from the DEVACCESS table.
    Satish.

Another alternative is to use SE11 to create a maintenance view (ex: ZV_DEVACCESS).  Secure the maintenance view with a custom authorization group.  With the maintenance view you have the ability to use SM30 to maintain the DEVACCESS data.
That keeps the DEVACCESS table from changing and thus no need to register the change with SAP.
    Cheers,
    Brian

  • For All Entries with two tables

    Hi All,
Can we use FOR ALL ENTRIES with two tables. for example
SELECT * FROM MKPF INTO TABLE T_MKPF
             WHERE BUDAT IN S_BUDAT.
SELECT * FROM MARA INTO TABLE T_MARA
             WHERE MTART IN S_MTART AND
                            MAKTL IN S_MAKTL.
SELECT * FROM MSEG INTO TABLE T_MSEG
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN  "T_MKPF AND T_MARA"
                  WHERE MBLNR EQ T_MKPF-MBLNR AND
                                 MATNR EQ T_MARA-MATNR.
can we do it like this or any other way to do this plz tell. I waitting for your responce.
    Thanks
    Jitendra

    Hi,
u cannot do like this....chek some documentation on it..
    1. duplicate rows are automatically removed
    2. if the itab used in the clause is empty , all the rows in the source table will be selected .
    3. performance degradation when using the clause on big tables.
Say for example you have the following abap code:
    Select * from mara
    For all entries in itab
    Where matnr = itab-matnr.
If the actual source of the material list (represented here by itab) is actually another database table, like:
    select matnr from mseg
into corresponding fields of table itab
    where ….
Then you could have used one sql statement that joins both tables.
    Select t1.*
    From mara t1, mseg t2
    Where t1.matnr = t2.matnr
    And T2…..
So what are the drawbacks of using the "for all entires" instead of a join ?
At run time , in order to fulfill the "for all entries " request, the abap engine will generate several sql statements (for detailed information on this refer to note 48230). Regardless of which method the engine uses (union all, "or" or "in" predicates) If the itab is bigger then a few records, the abap engine will break the itab into parts, and rerun an sql statement several times in a loop. This rerun of the same sql statement , each time with different host values, is a source of resource waste because it may lead to re-reading of data pages.
returing to the above example , lets say that our itab contains 500 records and that the abap engine will be forced to run the following sql statement 50 times with a list of 10 values each time.
    Select * from mara
    Where matnr in ( ...)
Db2 will be able to perform this sql statement cheaply all 50 times, using one of sap standard indexes that contain the matnr column. But in actuality, if you consider the wider picture (all 50 executions of the statement), you will see that some of the data pages, especially the root and middle-tire index pages have been re-read each execution.
Even though db2 has mechanisms like buffer pools and sequential detection to try to minimize the i/o cost of such cases, those mechanisms can only minimize the actual i/o operations , not the cpu cost of re-reading them once they are in memory. Had you coded the join, db2 would have known that you actually need 500 rows from mara, it would have been able to use other access methods, and potentially consume less getpages i/o and cpu.
In other words , when you use the "for all entries " clause instead of coding a join , you are depriving the database of important information needed to select the best access path for your application. Moreover, you are depriving your DBA of the same vital information. When the DBA monitors & tunes the system, he (or she) is less likely to recognize this kind of resource waste. The DBA will see a simple statement that uses an index , he is less likely to realize that this statement is executed in a loop unnecessarily.
Beore using the "for all entries" clause and to evaluate the use of database views as a means to:
    a. simplify sql
    b. simplify abap code
    c. get around open sql limitations.
