SUN application server does not read from Derby database

Hello,
I have developed a simple web application in SUN Java Studio Creator 2, and deployed it to the SUN App server 8. It uses a database (PointBase) for some table lookups. It all works OK on my development system. When I try and run the same web application on Production (Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0 (build b48)) , with the Derby database, I cannot get it to work. The application looks OK, all web pages get displayed correctly, but none of the fields and tables show any data from the database tables.
The "ping" command from the admin screen in the app server to the Derby connection pool is successful, and there are no error messages in any logs, it is just that the data from the tables does not get displayed on the web pages. Very strange.
At first I thought it was a database issue, so I ported the database to mySQL, but the problem was not fixed. In development the web application works OK, but on production the data in the tables do not get displayed.
Anyone has any ideas?

Are you able to access the data in the tables using standalone java client. ( java program through JDBC api )
Can you post the code snippet of getting connection ( URL, other db parameters)

    If above sql returns a row where STARTAPPSERVER=1, then the user <OPRID> can start the application server.
    If not update a permission list <CLASSID> that is assigned to <OPRID> (result aboce sql), using below sql.
    UPDATE PSCLASSDEFN SET STARTAPPSERVER=1 WHERE CLASSID='<CLASSID>'

  • Does not read from the path

    Hi All,
    I am not sure if this is the right place for posting this.
    I have Oracle reports 10g installed in a linux box (10gAS). I have specified the path of the directories for reports in reports.sh file. But still it does not read from that path. What could be the problem?

    1. Check the env variable REPORTS_PATH
    2 Check the reports server conf file path. Open the <reports servername>.conf
    and check the value.

    Hi All,
    I have given the path of my forms directories in default.env for my 10gDS Suite. While running it does not read it from the path that I have provided in that file. I also specified the same path in registry still the same error. The error message reads like FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Ok, I'm stumped!
    I thought I would see what would cause the Forms Builder to fail opening an fmb, so I changed my FORMS_PATH value in the default.env file by removing the second directory listed there. Opening a form in the builder gave me two errors:
    FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects. (Listed the objects in our Ref form.)
    FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library...
    Then I changed the FORMS_PATH back, but now, I am unable to open a form without those errors in the Forms Builder.
    My forms_path line looks like this:
    FORMS_PATH=C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms;C:\Users\Steve\01\fmb10The only thing I can do now to get a form to open without the errors is to copy the reference fmb and the PLL library from C:\Users\Steve\01\fmb10 to C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms
    It feels like I am going crazy, because this all worked before, and now I cannot get it to work.
    By the way, I am using Windows Vista and Forms 10.1.2.3.0

    If you set a breakpoint in your createUser method - does this code get executed?

    I am developing a JSF - EJB application and the data that I send from JSP Page through JSF Managed Bean --> Session Bean --> Java Persistence does not persist in database.

  • FedEx Sun One server does not allow POST

    Hello,
    I am attempting to communicate with FedEx's Direct XML Track. They use a Sun One Server v. 6.1 w/ SSL. When I do a POST with my XML document, I get back a 504, Method Not Allowed. Have communicated with FedEx technical support to no avail. Have downloaded server 6.1 and installed, trying to reverse-problem solve. Cannot see anywhere in the server where POSTs might be set to prohibited. The FedEx documentation specifically says to use a POST, which of course makes sense. Has anyone successfully used FedEx XML Direct, and/or could supply me with a hint as to why this might be happening? Also, am URL-encoding the reuest. Here's the code:

    I'm not MSSQL guy, and some feature for the connection are different than other db.
    But...
    Did you try to run in DMS boot strap mode :
    change_access_password SYSADM1 new_password;
    (replace SYSADM1 by your own symbolicid of the new db).
    You could also set a level trace on your client (pscfg) and try to connect to your db through AppDesigner, and report the log here.

  • Binding a JSF table to a list of data that does not come from a database

    Retrieving data from a database I can just use the jDev wizard to "Create EJB from table" and bind the EJB to a JSF table through a NamedQuery.
    However, in this instance I am retrieving a list of data from an existing API or a WebService.
    Does anyone have a good example of how best to do this?

  • 11g node manager reachable but server does not start from admin console

    I have a issue with node manager is reachable from admin console and from command prompt it is not connected and could not able to start the managed server.
    If i change /config/nodemanager/nm_password.properties plain text and restart it is not reachable in admin console abut can connect from command prompt. I could not able to start the even with this scenario.
    i see below error when try to check machine monitor tab.

    Pls. make sure the following points in your environment.
    1) Check '*nodemanager.domains*' file in <<WL_HOME>>\commo\nodemanager directory
         a) This file should have the entry for your domain 'dom_11gint'.
         b) Ensure the path referred in the nodemanager.domains file is correct one.
    2) Ensure the following remote server startup parameters are passed properly.
         a) In the Admin Console, Navigate Servers --> <<SERVER_NAME>> -->Configuration --> Server Start
         b) Pass the required Class Path, Arguments, User Name, Password(User name and Password to boot the managed servers)

  • EPM 11.1.2.1 Consolidation Application (Create) does not work from workspace

    We have installed and configured HFM, Planning, Essbase, FR, FDM in single server-Windows 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit). We have checked all diagnostic logs and configuration is 100% successful. All the services start successfully. We can connect to foundation/workspace on 19000 port and create planning application successfully and also use it with no problem.
    But when try to create Consolidation application, we get error as below:-
    Description: Invalid or could not find module configuration 'hfm.appcontainer'.
    Also the icon is not visible for all consolidation link under Navigate/Administer.
    We have installed Java 7 and dotnet framework 4.5
    Please help as we have reinstalled/reconfiguration numerous times and faced the same problem.

    The player robotic server available on AUR fails installation with:

    The thread mentions how to fix the issue for Pixie, but I don't know how to replicate the solution for player. The offending lines are:

    UPDATE: after visiting the zlib webpage I tried a different tack: downgrading zlib from 1.2.6 to 1.2.5. PLayer now compiles, but it fails at the linking stage with:

  • Satellite M40 does not read from product Recovery DVD

    Hey all.
    I have a bit of a problem that I hope someone can help me.
    My Satellite M40 notebook fell while it was in the bag and the dvd drive stopped working .
    I had it repaired and it plays cds but I can't get the recovery disk to work.
    It opens but for some reason the files are unreadable.
    When I try to press C after turning it on, the computer sounds like it is about to work but then the windows XP icon just appears.
    Can anyone help or offer advice? I'd really appreciate

    I just checked my dvd recording device Sonic and it is not there. The read me file and all are there but the actual program I cannot find. So do I need to download that?
    The Sonic and other additional tools are placed only on the Additional Software CD which should be delivered together with the M40.

    As already said!!! The firmware could be found on the CD/DVD drive manufacturer site!
    I dont know what drive you have bought and I dont know the drive details!

  • How to configure sun application server 8.2 for Oracle RAC 10g

    Hello,
    We have numerous boxes running the sun platform application server 8.2 and 2 boxes running enterprise version 8.2 all connecting to a 4 node Oracle RAC 10 G release 2 database. We have the system up and working. The application servers are connecting just fine to the database and the apps don't have any problems querying, inserting, etc. However, when we try to do failover testing of situations when a node or nodes of the Oracle RAC database goes down the application server does not gain new valid connections. Our configuration is this, OracleDataSource for the data source, table validation turned on with a valid table, ONS configuration set in properties, connectionCache enabled, and fastconnectionfailover enabled as well in the properties. We have that long oracle rac url with load balancing turned on set fot the database URL. We have the checkbox checked to fail all connections on any failure. ONS is configured properly within the database because we have a java application that runs outside of the application server that uses all the same settings described above (only set manually in our code for the OracleDataSource). This application works seemlessly when DB nodes are shutdown. We can shutdown all but one node and it's still humming along without skipping a beat. Start up one of the others, kill the last node, it still hums along nicely without skipping a beat. We'd really like to get the applications running in the application server to work the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've tried all the combinations that we can think of with configuration settings in the application server and it never works. Am tempted to rip out the database connection pool from inside the application server and configure it manually in the code but we are using entity beans and this is the much easier approach, if it will work. It's down to the point of does sun application server actually work with oracle RAC for connection failovers.
