Sun Java ME 3.0 windows installer corrupted

Hello there,
I am not sure if I am posting this issue into the right forum...if not and if someone is aware of the right contact, please provide.
I am quite new to the J2ME world and at this moment I am mainly concentrating on learning J2ME for mobile apps development. I am trying to download Java Platform Micro Edition Software Development Kit 3.0 with my valid user id from Oracle download center, but the installation file seems to be corrupted. I am trying to install it in my laptop that runs with Windows XP SP5. Is anyone aware of this issue? In that case can you please point me out to the right binary?
Here is what I am downloading from: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javame/downloads/sdk30-jsp-139759.html
Please guide...
regards,
Debdatta Bhattacharjee.

I've had a problem before with this. It didn't said it was corrupt but some other error. Anyway that problem was caused because I ran it with a 64bit JDK. However it doesn't works with a 64bit JDK, you need to install a 32bit JDK next to it. Then in the installer folder, you have a 'java' file without any extension. Open it in notepad and you'll see it contains the path to your 64bit JDK installation. Edit it to the path of your 32bit JDK, save and reinstall.

This might be your problem.

  • What is the issue with Java 7 Update 6 windows installer?

    Hi guys,
I know that this is not the forum to ask Java Installation issue, but I couldn't find a forum that specifically deals with such issues. Also, as the issue in hand concerns JavaFx, I thought it appropriate to post the question here. Let me begin...
I ran the installer for JDK 7 Update 6 on my Windows 7 64-bit machine, and it installed Java successfully, but no JavaFX SDK. So I uninstalled it, and ran the installer again, and it produced the same output i.e. Java installation O.K. but no JavaFX. It also didn't show any error message.
Puzzled, I looked at the system requirements for JavaFX 2.2, and it says SP1 for Windows 7. Sure my Windows 7 is not updated to SP1 yet, but JavaFX 2.1.1 was successfully installed on it, and it had same requirement ie. SP1. Since my numerous attempts to update to Windows 7 SP1 failed, I downloaded and installed separate installer for JavaFX 2.2, which the Oracle site says is for Java 6 only. Now, I am able to compile and run JavaFX 2.2 applications on my system without any problem. It has left me puzzled because if JavaFX 2.2 is compatible with my system, then why the JDK installer for 1.0.7_06 is not able to install JavaFX?
Are other users facing the same issue?
    -Dinesh

Check JDK folder. You should see jre/lib/jfxrt.jar there.Yes it is there. And in Netbeans IDE, I specified the JDK home folder where it asks for JavaFX SDK folder location, and it accepted it; the IDE found all the required JavaFX SDK files in that folder as it is able to compile the program without any problem.
Thanks for pointing me to the right direction. All the while I was looking for the folder named "JavaFX 2.2 SDK", and not founding one, assumed it to be some problem with the installer.
    Thanks again.

How do I configure Studio Creator to remote deploy to a stand alone sun Java Application server 9.1 installation ? I have tried configuring it as a remote deployment server in the IDE but that doesn't work.

See the following url for Supported deployment servers of the Sun Java Studio Creator IDE
    http://developers.sun.com/jscreator/sysreqs/depservers.jsp
I would recommend using NetBeans . Sun Java Application Server 9.1 is tested with NetBeans:

  • Uninstalling problems - Sun Java System AppSever 9 on Ubuntu

    hi guys,
looks like a lot of people is having the same problem as me, but after reading other posts in this forum i was unnable fo fix it.
unfortunally, i made a wrong remove of my appserver that was located on /opt/SUNWappserver. so i decided to reinstall the netbeans 5.5 with bundle SunAppserver. When i saw the installation log, a message indicated that was unable to install the Sunappserver because another one was installed (this is not true, since i removed (in a wrong way) previously.
It looks that some pieces of my old appServer is still on my ubuntu and this is the reason i cannot install it again. how can i completely remove the old SunAppServer and install it again?
    thanks a lot

  • Sun Java System Application Server installation location on windows

    Hi there...
I'm just doing the "Your First Cup: An Introduction to the Java EE Platform" tutorial for the first time. I'm trying to add the Sun Java System Application Server in NetBeans IDE. It's asking me to select the Platform Location, and I have no idea where that is. No help instructions I've found say where it normally gets installed, and I've found now mention of it on the web.
Can anyone tell me the location where this is supposed to be located? I HAVE installed the Java EE SDK 5 for Windows. The location it offers as a default is "C:\Program Files\glassfish-v2ur2\", but there is a red message at the bottom of the dialog that reads "Provide a valid Application Server Installation Location for 'Sun Java System App...". The Register Local Default Domain drop-down box has not options to select, either.
I would try and search some more, but I just don't know what to search for. If anyone can offer any insight into this, I appreciate it.
    Thanks a ton!!!

I`ve posted a shorter version of the question in the hopes of getting a timely answer. Thanks

  • Oracle 8i Personal Install corrupts Sun Java 2 development environment

I encountered no errors during installation of Oracle 8i Personal for Windows/NT; and the sample database appears fully functional.
However, the Sun Java 2 development kit (JDK 1.2) that I use for other projects is no longer functional. The registry appears to have been corrupted by the Oracle 8i installation. Now, whenever I attempt to run a Java 2 program I encounter the error:
    "Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.1', but '1.2' is required."
Does anyone have suggestions on how to cure this problem?
    null

Although I installed 8i Lite rather than personal Oracle 8, my experience was unlike yours. My jdk2 never stopped working - although, when I think about it, I did have to immediately fix a bunch of problems I visually detected after the install.
After the installation, my Registry (on Win95) remained set correctly to version 1.2 of the javasoft runtime environment.
My autoexec.bat file however was badly trashed by the installer - my multiple classpath statements were all combined into one monolith at the end.
I hate products that silently overwrite carefully crafted key system files with no prior warning and no automatic backup process.
After an hour or two recovering the autoexec and setting environment variables for jdk 1.2, everything is fine with my jdk setup.
In the NT world, I can't help you with recovering your jdk2 environment. However, I'd check your environment settings on NT very carefully to ensure the installer hasn't wreaked havoc with them.
You can also try re-installing the jdk2 run time environment from sun's web site.
    Good luck.

Googling the net for this error message leads to the same issue reported while installing other software as well:

    Solution

This article describes a similar problem while installing sqlserver but may be applicable in this case:
This problem occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
The DefaultAccessPermissions binary value exists under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Ole registry key
The user account that has logged on to the computer to install ... does not have default access permissions for Distributed Component Object Module (DCOM) applications.

  • Why does Sun Java 1.4.2 not run in IE (Windows XP)?

Hi. I hope someone can help me. I have installed Windows XP SP1a and straight away, I removed MSJVM from my system using Microsoft's own Java Removal Tool (1.0a?), as it does the most thorugh job of removing the dated technology from the system.
However installing Sun Java into the system becomes a problem. It installs fine, with no errors, the ActiveX modules are installed into IE and the Sun Java option is present under Advanced Internet Options, however any Java applets embedded in HTML (eg www.jpilot.com/chat.html) will not load at all. I will just get the white box with a cross, the standard placeholder from IE when it can't run the embedded object. Is Sun Java dependant on a certain old MSJava file/component being installed?

I am unable to resolve this. The error shown by java console is:-

it seems that you have not uninstalled the previous entire installation. You can clear all installation manually. first, you need remove all information about your previour installation in "/var/sadm/install/productregistry" file, and then deleted the previous installation directory , now suppose you can reinstall it successfully again, good luck!

We (Sun) don't have much experience with Safari on Windows at this point. Going forward, the new Java Plug-In in 6u10 should work with Safari on Windows, once Safari upgrades their NPAPI and NPRuntime interfaces to the versions in Firefox 3.
