Sun VDI 3.1.1 error with Sun 7310

Hello,
I'm working on a Sun VDI solution using a 7310 with Sun Storage 2010.Q1.0.0 and am having a provisioning error when importing a template or desktop. It errors about copying disk image to storage. Upon switching to a Solaris ZFS storage server the issue goes away. I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue and if the Sun Storage OS should be update or if there are specific configuration variables that should be set in the ZFS storage pool being used by the Sun VDI implementation.
Thank you,
Mike

Okay, after some issues with the 7310 that is being used for this pilot I was able to do some more testing to generate logs around the failures. I have been able to get this to work with a regular Solaris 10 iSCSI and NFS server that uses ZFS. In fact it worked perfectly but that isn't the storage array that is meant for this project. The Sun VDI implementation is accessing the 7310 using the 'root' account and is connecting over gigE SAN. We can see Sun VDI logging into the storage array, it creates the '/suspend-data' NFS share right away as it should. When I got to import a template you can see it deploy the iSCSI LUN and the associated Target and IQN.
Here are snippets from the cacao log showing the different failure messages.

  • Integration of Sun One Web Server 6.0 with Sun One App Server 7.0

Is it possible to integrate Sun One Web Server 6.0 with the Sun One App Server 7.0??
Sun One App Server 7.0 comes with the in-built HTTP listener. But we want to know if there is a way by which we can use the Sun One Web Server 6.0 with the App Server 7.0 and not the in-bulit HTTP listener?

As suggested by you, I have used Sun ONE Application Server 7's plugin to connect the Sun ONE Web Server 6.0 with Sun ONE Application Server 7 as per the information given in Sun ONE Application Server 7 Administrator's Guide.
I have added the plugin package to the webserver and added the following into the magnus.conf:
    Init fn="load-modules" shlib="C:/iPlanet/Servers/plugins/passthrough/passthrough.dll" funcs="init-passthrough,auth-passthrough,check-passthrough,service-passthrough" NativeThread="no"
    Init fn="init-passthrough"
    and to the obj.conf
    NameTrans fn="assign-name" from="(/A2P2Test|/A2P2Test/*)" name="passthrough"
    <Object name="passthrough">
    ObjectType fn="force-type" type="magnus-internal/passthrough"
    Service type="magnus-internal/passthrough" fn="service-passthrough" servers="http://<application server http listener>"
    Error reason="Bad Gateway" fn="send-error" uri="$docroot/badgateway.html"
    </Object>
The webserver starts up without any errors but never forwards any requests what might I be doing wrong?

  • Error with Sun App. Server 9...table or view does not exist..

I am not sure where to post this but here it is:
I am using Sun App. Server 9 along with a XE database...I use two schemas in my web app but on the first I get ORA error -table or view does not exist from SAS ,although it exists..the second works fine...
Q: I cannot use 2 simultaneous connection with XE? or what seams to be the problem...
PS: I also experimented randomly a oracle.toplink error that my Persistance Unit was unable to connect

    two PU's
two Database Connections (in fact jsf pages ware generate based on entity classes-witch ware made using the connection)
    two schemas: HR and CONTA
On a second thought I think somehow you're right ...it must be some connection error regarding the schema used...
    I'll look into it...but later...

You do not need to install Tomcat. SJSAS contains a web container. The error you are seeing could be caused by a few reasons. There are many previous threads on this issue, perhaps you could search the forum. I used the following search term, "Unable to compile class for JSP" ,and got many hits.
    http://onesearch.sun.com/search/developers/index.jsp?col=devforums&qp_name=J2EE+Software+Development+Kit+%28J2EE+SDK%29&qp=forum%3A136&qt=Unable+to+compile+class+for+JSP

    Any help??????????????

Looks like the attribute sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries is defined twice in the schema. Run the following and see where it is defined for the second time.
    # cd /var/opt/SUNWdsee/dsins1/config/schema
    # grep -w sunIdentityServerDiscoEntries *.ldif | grep -iv objectclasses

We have an application that was running on MSJVM. Recently we migrated to SUN JVM. After the migration, we get the error message - "Stack overflow at line 0 " at random, while loading applets.

Where do you see the error message (Java console, ...?)
Googling for "stack overflow at line 0" hints that the problem may be related to JavaScript. Is there JS on the web pages that elicit the error? The JVM upgrade might be a coincidence.

    For future references:
this happens to me too and I found that the cause is that the AM server you are going to configure, is already registered into the directory server.
Try running this command (with the obvious parameters substituted)
ldapsearch -B -T -D 'cn=directory manager' -w YOUR_CREDENTIALS -b ou=1.0,ou=iPlanetAMPlatformService,ou=services,YOUR_BASEDN -s base objectclass=* | grep YOUR_SERVERNAMEIf you found that the server you are configuring is listed here try going to AMserver console (if you have another AMserver configured) and browse to Configuration->System Properties->Platforms. If the server is here, remove it, if not, just hit Save (very important).
If this is your first AM and is a first installation you can just get rid of the Directory Server suffix and recreate it with the Top Entry alone.

    Try executing:
    vda-webadmin stop
    vda-service stop
    vda-service start
    vda-webadmin start
IIRC this worked for me some time back. If it doesn't work for you, check the DB state with vda-db-status

  • JavaMail error with "java -jar" on 1.6

The following code sends an email. The following ant build script compiles the code, creates a jar, runs the program using "java Test", and runs the program using "java -jar test.jar". Both runs work with Sun's 1.5 JRE. With Sun's 1.6 JRE, it does not work when using "java -jar" (my output is following the code). I am not sure why. I thought it might be conflicting versions of JavaMail and the JAF in Java6, but I have the latest JavaMail. I guess it is an issue with how libraries are loaded when using "java -jar", but I am not sure how to resolve this.
If you want to run this, simply drop mail-1.4.1.jar and activation-1.1.1.jar into the same directory as these two files, set your.mail.server.here and [email protected], and run ant.

I spent quite a bit of time looking into this. Thanks for the reproducible test
case, it was essential to figuring out the problem!
The problem appears to be a bug in the jar file index. The jar file index doesn't
include the META-INF directory, which means JavaMail can't find the config
files it's looking for in mail.jar. If you change the ant build file to set index="false",
it will work as expected. If you really need the index, you can fix it by using
the jar command explicitly - "jar i test.jar".
It looks like this is a bug in ant.

  • Error With SCORM Content W Latest Version of Sun Java (1.6.0_10)

We're getting an error with users running the more recent version of Sun Java 1.6.0_10, but not with previous versions. This happens for all our SCORM content.
The Java logs are showing a lot of data, but the main symptoms seem to be:
network: CrossDomainXML: connection to host <our LMS server address> denied
LMS Error: 304 - Security exception
    and
    Error stack trace:
    oracle.apps.ota.lms.LMSException: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission <our LMS server address> connect,resolve)
    and
    Returned: "false"
    *** LMSGetLastError() [Thu Oct 09 10:56:35 EDT 2008]
    Returned: "304"
    *** LMSGetErrorString("304") [Thu Oct 09 10:56:35 EDT 2008]
    Returned: "Security exception"
Our crossdomain.xml fille is configured correctly, and also previous versions of JRE are not having the problem (the Java logs look clean).
    Does anyone have any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Hi All
Got a similar issue with the tracking / bookmarking of sessions - when on sun Java update 7 all is well however when update 10 or 11 is installed then SCROM session start on page 1 not the page you were on, also as expected they do not get marked as complete.
    Two things happen
    1) A small window is left for - [http://riti04.cornwall.nhs.uk:7780/ilearn/en/learner/jsp/relogin.jsp] - URL
    2) We get an Error on page - [http://riti04.cornwall.nhs.uk:7780/ilearn/en/learner/jsp/lms.jsp] - URL
Looked for the Plugin section as per a pervious within the Java Control panel - but I'm not seeing it.
We use iLearn 5.0 and I am begining to think we need a patch but unsure which.
    Thanks
    Stephen
