Support for packages
When would there be support for packages and viewing them? At the moment, double clicking the specification item against a package throws up a null pointer exception. Any idea on time scales?

Hi, I have been trying to get the proper definition of "observable" in the Java Language Specifications 2. However, it seems that a package is "observable" if its compilation units are "observable". Compilation units' observability depends on the host system! ??? How can I determine whether a compilation unit is observable and what is the difference between "observable" and "accessible".

LukaIts not as tough as you feel. Consider you have 2 classes , one extends Observable , another implements Observer. Both are linked by the Observer implementation "public void update(Observable o, Object arg) ". Whenever the instance of the Observable object changes, it will notify the Observer implementation through the update method.
Following lines are taken from the API :
" An observable object can have one or more observers. An observer may be any object that implements interface Observer. After an observable instance changes, an application calling the Observable's notifyObservers method causes all of its observers to be notified of the change by a call to their update method. "

I know that it is going to save up just some byte and is not a big difference, but may be is a start.
Basically my proposal came out for 2 reason.
1) people 2 "complaing" about download time (I do not see the reason, if you want any system to be up to date you have have to download patch and upgrade son is not Arch fault)

By considering a 5% (in the worst case) gain over gzip, it allow you 30MB of space before switching to a 2 cd distribution.
30MB is actually nothing for a great distribution to fill :-) ... if you add some nice pkgs, they are filled in an afternoon

Trying to install Support for DTS packages in SQL server 2008

I am trying to follow the instructions in the following link...

...to install support for DTS packages - when it says on the Feature Selection page, select Integration Services - none of the installs I have tried show this as an option - what should I be installing in order to see this and get this feature installed?
I just need to be able to view some DTS packages - help!

As mentioned in a previous post* , I've compiled OpenSSH packages with PAM support for Solaris 9 and 10. They've since been updated to version 4.4p1, and are compiled against a static zlib (1.2.3) and OpenSSL (0.9.8c). You can find them here:

JSC2 Support for Traditional Java Package Names
We have been looking for some encouraging words in the JSC2 documentation concerning the use of traditional java package organization for our creator projects but have been unable to find any. JSC2 appears to use a new project directory structure for its own purposes. However, there is no mention of package naming improvements in response to past requests from JSC1 users. We still very much want to organize our project content in the familiar java "com.company.ourproject.ourfeature" style. Is it the intention of the Creator developers to provide improvement in support for custom package names in JSC2 that is beyond what was possible in JSC1? Any insightful comments would be greatly appreciated.

Repair your Apple software Update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU in All programs, go to control panel/
XP- add n remove Programs/highlight ASU, CHANGE then REPAIR.
Vista or Win7 - Programs n features/highlight ASU and click REPAIR -
Getting invalid packages when installing support for stored java objects
I am getting invalid packages notices when installing support for stored java objects in Forms 9i that can with the Oracle 9iDS Suite. In the post installation notes it says to locate a few SQL files, PLB files and a JAR file and run them. On executing the SQL package that will install the rest , I am logged in as SYSTEM as the instructions stated, I get an error when it tries to load the PLB files ( which are encrypted from Oracle). Any one else have this problem or know of a solution?

Support for native packaged apps?

I'm looking to incorporate some Native Process functionality into my app, which means I'll be deploying EXE, DMG, and possibly RPM version of the application.
Is there anyway that Melrose can facilitate this in it's current state? Looking at the developer panel, it doesn't seem so...That helps alot, I'll now have to re-think my business model as obviously InMarket is not the place I can be if I want to develop cutting edge AIR applications. I truly appreciate the timeframe though, it gives me some solid info I can plan around.
I'm not sure I agree with the direction entirely, I think the monetization opportunities go down 10-fold by not allowing use of the Native API's in 2.0.
With the native process API's the variety of application's we could build in AIR expanded exponentially, suddenly we can take advantage of thousands of pre-existing native processes to do all kinds of things that AIR can't do natively. The possibilities are endless.
So, while you are focusing on reaching into new markets, you're limiting AIR apps to be simplistic in nature, and quite limited in functionality. Not to mention, it's a poor message to developers: Here's this API we released, but it will be 18mths+ before we will actually support it in our own storefront.
I'm not really sure what one has to do with the other as well. Mobile/Tabled and TV's will obviously not support Native Process anyways, so I don't see how adding support for native apps in Desktop storefronts, should really affect the partnerships / development of these other storefronts.

I have been a customer with Verizon, since 1996. Recently, my husband has been added onto my account. We have both been experience drop calls. My husband contact Tech support for over 2 weeks. We were pretty upset to be paying a lot of money for a service that didn't work. Verizon advised us that would upgrade both of our phones (to see if that solved the problem). Ok...this is where Verizon has forgotten customer service rules. He order 2 phone...one for himself, one for me. 1st the wrong address on the package..Fedex couldn't deliver...2nd...missing condo number Fedex couldn't deliver again...(2nd call to Verizon)...3rd package was finally deliver with 1 phone...missing my phone. Contacted verizon rep...reorder my phone again..but sorry we cannot give the same price as quoted on 21April...even though...its our mistake...Ok...Ok..what a surprise..but we can do this...after 65 minutes...found a price that was a little bit more...fine...just order the phone....I reordered phone on 28April...on the April 29...no email..so I can Verizon for the 4times in a few days..sorry your order was delay due to our Fraud dept. OK...talked to fraud dept...ok..account is good..will release phone and ship. OK...Next day, no email with deliver confimation. Contact Verizon 5 times now...sorry..your order was cancelled...YES...cancelled again...2nd time now...but we can reorder...OK...sorry but we cannot honor that price that was quoted..really...agent messed up...again...but we can do this for you....I don't understand...your mistake...ALL the times...

VZW will not guarantee service inside of any structure. There are just too many factors. If the problem is inside then you might want to look at one of the following:
1.) Network Extender (may cause issues for others in a condo or apartment style setting)
2.) A Google Voice Number (Free with a Gmail email address), downloading Google Hangouts Dialer and forwarding your calls to the GVN so that you can make and receive calls over Wi-Fi. -

What's more, I was in Oakenfold's Grammy-nominated (Best Electronic/Dance Album) Creamfields CD with my track "First Sight". I have been using Logic (since version 4.7) since 2000. I even gave lectures on how to use Logic in a pro production environment. Always a big fan of Apple (All my desktops, laptops, iPods over the years...) and Emagic. However, I'm about to go crazy with a Logic 6 issue and no-one's helping me out. This *****.
I have no problem with my Logic 7 (Support ID:R1CY2ABHRPW)
which I use in my studio with a PowerMac G5. It's amazing. What Apple and Emagic have done together to Logic is incredible. I love using it, which I do almost every single day. But, I also have a Logic 6 on my laptop (G4 15"). My XSKey had problems and I wrote to Emagic and asked for urgent help. Then, the key was working fine and I forgot about it. In a month's time I recieved a second key and was asked to send my old key back to Germany and then get access codes for the new key. Well, I did NOT do that, cause the old one was working and I was working everyday on 2 different projects.
Last week, when i was just about to upgrade to 7, I lost my first key. I kindly request Apple or Emagic to somehow help me and give me codes for the second key I have. So, I can activate my Logic 6 and then upgrade it to 7. But, Apple suggests (on the website) to contact Emagic. But, no-one replies to those e-mail addresses they put in there...
What do you suggest I do? This is frustrating. I need those codes. I guess without those codes, it's useless to go get an upgrade package, right? What kind of a support understanding is this? Where is the support for Logic 6? Since Emagic is NOT functional anymore, why doesn't Apple support us on former versions? Just help me upgrade to 7.
Any one with any ideas? Anyone knows how to contact Emagic? (rather than [email protected] or [email protected] and all the phone numbers we used to be able to call)

P.S.: All of this might seem irrelevant on a Logic 7 forum, but I'm still a Logic (both 7 & 6) user and I tried everything else....What version of the Mac OS is it running? That might narrow the search, It's easier to find stuff that runs under 10.4 Tiger than anything older. The only recently updated browser that still runs under 10.3.9 Panther is Camino 1.6.11, updated about a year ago. It's free and here:

I am trying to install iTunes on my laptop that runs Windows 8.1
I have tried several solutions discussed in similar questions but none worked
-uninstalled and reinstalled
-cleaned C drive for all Apple products
-tried to install security update’ Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update’ but the same error appeared
-Windows module installer is enabled
I always get this error

No Support for Windows 7! Extremely Frustrated! Help!
Ok, so here's the deal. I have TX1220us tablet pc. It came with Vista 32-bit Home Premium on it. Everybody knows that Vista is a resource hog, and running the 32-bit version on a 2.2 gig 64-bit processor is a complete waste of performance capabilities. So, what's the ideal thing to do? Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate of course! Not so easy... After upgrading, almost nothing works properly on my computer. I did this 8-10 months ago, and immediately noticed the problems. My CD/DVD Lightscribe Drive only functions partially, it only reads some discs and won't burn anything. The fingerprint sensor doesn't function at all. Worst of all, the digitizer (touchscreen) is no longer touch sensitive. The quick launch buttons werent working for a while, but I installed some vista drivers, and luckily was able to get 2 of the 4 to work.
So what do I do? I talk to HP Support for help. Unfortunately, the only "support" that I could get out of them was in the form of a few sentences. "Unfortunately, HP does not recommend upgrading from the pre-installed operating system. HP does not support anything but the pre-installed operating system" and "This is something that HP is currently developing, and we will update the support page as soon as updates are available for your hardware". The irony of this all is this: At the exact time that HP gave me the first statement, there was an ad with a link from HP on the right margin of my models support page stating "The Wait for Windows 7 is Over! Upgrading your computer has never been easier!".
Again this was 8-10 months ago that I went through all of this, and now I finally decided to give it another try. You'd think in 10 months that they would be able to develop some sort of updates for customers. Wrong... I once again received the exact same responses with absolutely no sense of concern or care for the happiness of a customer from the support representative. I have finally decided that this is some sort of marketing scheme or sales scam to force their customers to go out and buy a new computer, even though there is no need for it. My laptop is 300x faster on Win7 x64 than it was on Vista, and after paying for an expensive new operating system for a tablet that i purchased only 3 years ago for $1,600 I have no intent on going out and purchasing a new one just so I can run Windows 7.
Does anybody know who to talk to about getting issues like this resolved or to get compensation for HP's complete lack of care for customer satisfaction? Any info would be nice. Finally, if anybody has come up with a way to get this system working properly on Win 7, I'm open for suggestions. I have tried installing HP Vista drivers on my system, but when I run the setup packages, they exit out saying that the setup programs are designed for windows vista, that it has detected a different operating system, and that the setup will now exit.

tx1220us - Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - Nothing but problemsI think you would be very surprised at how many of your drivers are supported natively by Windows 7. I have an even newer AMD laptop which I installed W7 on and had to install very few drivers. Running Windows Update manually from Control Panel and choosing to also see 'Optional' updates gave me those.

Last photos I imported show only titles, no photos. As I scroll down I see them appear
