Supported UCM content types by custom content presenter display template

Hi,
custom content presenter display template can only be applied to a Site Studio file? Or the UCM content item type to which the template can be applied can be of different types (says for example an UCM folios or a custom XML file)?
I would like to use the Content presenter in order to customize the presentation of a custom XML file stored on UCM...but as far as I understood I can't do it...I'm correct?
I hope I was clear.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
S.

In my scenario, I've a strong requirements in the user interface usability the customer should have in order to perform data entry (it generates the data that made up the XML I'll check-in in UCM): the UI should be more friendly than SS Contributor provides (for example I'll plan to implement it as an ADF page). I've also specifications on the presentation layout.
If I correctly understood, you're suggesting to store in UCM not my custom XML file, but instead a Site Studio data file containing the "same" XML content?
If yes, can I perform the SS data file check-in not using SS Contributor but instead a custom ADF based page? If yes, how can address this?
Thanks a lot.
Best regards,
S.

  • Displaying img from content server thr' content presenter display templates

    Hi,
    I have created a static list element definition which contains three elements i.e. plaintext, image and WYSIWYG.
    I have accessed the plaintext and WYSIWYG elements on Content presenter template using
    <af:iterator var="items" value="#{node.propertyMap['ARTICLE_RGD:chapters'].nestedProperties}">
    <af:outputText id="ot1" value='#{items[0].value}'/>
    <af:outputText id="ot3" value="#{items[2].value}"/>
    </af:iterator>
    But may i know how to access the image element on the static list. I tried this with <af:image> tag
    <af:image styleClass="test" source="#{items[1].url}" shortDesc="Test" id="idtest" inlineStyle="float:left;"/>
    As the source tag of af:image tag requires an uri, and as we are passing the url, the image is not getting rendered.
    As there is no uri property on the node attribute, Kindly help to fetch the image element from CS.
    Not only in static list, may i know how to render the image element in adf from CS

  • Content Type Column Names with same display Name ???

    Hi everyone,
    I have a SharePoint Sitecollection where are Site Column Display Names are the same (see Image)
    If I view the URL links, the internal names are different, that's ok.
    But how is this possible ? You can't rename the columns with existing names ?
    Thanks
    Stephan

    Like Enrique I would say these werent created via the interface. Doubt a migration would have done anything only Lookups seem to be duplicating. Could these be used in a form of some kind?
    If this is helpful please mark it so. Also if this solved your problem mark as answer.

  • Custom content presenter template - multiple items

    I am having an issue with using custom content presenter template...
    Here are the steps I took:
    *1. I created a single item display template veventItem_CP.jsff*
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:dt="http://xmlns.oracle.com/webcenter/content/templates"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
      <dt:contentTemplateDef var="node">
        <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1" layout="vertical">
          <af:outputText value="#{node.propertyMap['dDocTitle'].value}" id="ot1"/>
        </af:panelGroupLayout>
      </dt:contentTemplateDef>
    </jsp:root>
    and create a portal resource:
    Content Repository Name: UCM
    Content Type: IDC:Profile:Event
    Content Type Default View: true
    View ID: veventItem_CP
    *2. I created multiple item display template veventsList_CP.jsff*
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:dt="http://xmlns.oracle.com/webcenter/content/templates"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">

              <af:commandLink text="#{node.propertyMap['dDocTitle'].value}" id="cl1"/>
              <dt:contentTemplate id="listitem" node="#{node}"
                    view="veventItem_CP"
                    nodesHint="#{node}"/>
          </af:iterator>
        </af:panelGroupLayout>
      </dt:contentListTemplateDef>
    </jsp:root>
    and create a Portal Resource:
    Category Name: events
    Category ID: *
    Category Default View: true
    View ID: veventsList_CP
    *3. I drag and drop a folder from my UCM connection onto home.jspx and enter the following parameters into the binding:*
        <taskFlow id="eventsContentPresenter"
                  taskFlowId="/oracle/webcenter/doclib/view/jsf/taskflows/presenter/contentPresenter.xml#doclib-content-presenter"
                  activation="deferred"
                  xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
          <parameters>
            <parameter id="taskFlowInstId"
                       value="${'cd6c7cd6-2c74-4e6c-a711-a748d9abd0d8'}"/>
            <parameter id="datasourceType" value="${'dsTypeFolderContents'}"/>
            <parameter id="datasource"

            <parameter id="templateView" value="${''}"/>
            <parameter id="regionTemplate" value="${'false'}"/>
            <parameter id="maxResults" value="${''}"/>
          </parameters>
        </taskFlow> Then when I deploy the code the error I get is:
    <TemplateRegistry> <getListTemplateViewId()> No default template view specified for category id 'events'. Returning the default view for the default category.

    Hey Yannick,
    I think you are mistaken...
    I am using a contentListTemplate, and in the developer's guide it says to use the templateCategory for multiple-item content presenter templates. When I do what you suggested, my veventsList_CP doesn't work and the ADF default tempalte is used.
    I accomplished what I needed to accomplish on the home page by re-writing my veventsList_CP to not use the nested template:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:dt="http://xmlns.oracle.com/webcenter/content/templates"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
              xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core">
      <dt:contentListTemplateDef var="nodes" >
        <af:panelGroupLayout id="nodeListPanel" halign="left" layout="vertical" valign="middle" inlineStyle="text-align:left;">
          <af:iterator rows="0" id="i1" var="node" value="#{nodes}" varStatus="iterator"  >
            <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl1" layout="vertical"
                                 inlineStyle="padding-left:10px; padding-top:10px;">
              <af:commandLink text="#{node.propertyMap['dDocTitle'].value}" id="cl1"
                              inlineStyle="font-size:small; font-weight:bold;"/>
              <af:outputText value="#{upcomingEventsBean.dates}"
                             id="ot2"/>
            </af:panelGroupLayout>
          </af:iterator>
        </af:panelGroupLayout>
      </dt:contentListTemplateDef>
    </jsp:root>
    Now I need to make the commandLink direct to a content presenter display template that shows all of the event's metadata. I've done this before by using the default navigation model, but never programmatically. I will give it a try and report how it goes.

  • Displaying Custom Content Types

    Short Version
    I have created custom content types that has a few properties that are complex. One is an image type and another is a collection of another custom content type. I am unable to display or access these items.
    Long Version
    I have a custom content type with the following properties
    It is called PageThreeColumn
    PageTitle : String
    LeftNav : String
    RightNav : String
    HeroImage : image (complext type that came with weblogic)
    ContentCollection: Collection of type ContentPlaceholder
    The other custom type ContentPlaceHolder
    Type : String
    HtmlContent : Binary
    I created a content presenter view (wlp-templete-config.xml) and I am able to get a simple string property to be displayed.
    So I can do the following
    <cm:getProperty name="LeftNav" node="${node}"/>
    And I get the expected String back.
    What I am unable to do is get to anything that is more complicated then the simple datatypes. For instance the Image data type.
    I have tried node.HeroImage but it does not display correctly.
    I appreciate any help you can give and would definately like a link to an example of displaying content that is not as trivial as most of the examples.

    I have tried the following code variations
    <div>
         ${node.properties[0]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[1]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[2]}
    <!--//Shows string as expected-->
         ${node.properties[3]}
    <!--//Shows the following
    HeroImage: [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a1 -->
         ${node.properties[4]}
         <!--//Shows the following
         ContentCollection: [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a5 ,
                                              [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958a8 ,
                                               [Lcom.bea.content.Property;@48958ab -->
                    <cm:getProperty node="${node.HeroImage}" name="heroimage" />
         <img src="${templates:getImageSource(pageContext.request, heroimage)}"/>
    </div>
    Variation 2
    <img src="${templates:getImageSource(pageContext.request, node.HeroImage)}"/> //says that it does not recognize node.HeroImage
    Variation 3
    ${node.HeroImage} //says that it does not recognise HeroImage
    All dont work.
    Should I be adding or doing some type of customization to the template jsp to handle the complex data type?
    Is there an example or tutorial that uses a complex content type and the content presenter to show content?
    Or maybe an example of more complicated uses of the JSP files in the:
    /portlets/wlp/contentpresenter/templates/wlp-default/cm
    /portlets/wlp/contentpresenter/templates/wlp-default/outer
    All of the examples I found were ver trivial. Basicly showing a very simple example but nothing using a content type that is more complicated in the non-primary properties then strings.

  • Custom Content Presenter Template gives Empty result

    Hi All,
    I am Using Jdev 11.1.1.6 and am trying to display UCM content via a custom template using content presenter.
    I have a page with the following:
    <af:region value="#{bindings.doclibcontentpresenter1.regionModel}" id="r1"/>
    The bindings for the content presenter taskflow:
    <taskFlow id="doclibcontentpresenter1"
    taskFlowId="/oracle/webcenter/doclib/view/jsf/taskflows/presenter/contentPresenter.xml#doclib-content-presenter"
                  activation="deferred"

          <parameters>
            <parameter id="taskFlowInstId" value="${'photo'}"/>
            <parameter id="datasourceType" value="${'dsTypeQueryExpression'}"/>
            <parameter id="datasource"
                       value="#{backingBeanScope.NewsBean.photoContentQuery}"/>
            <parameter id="templateCategory" value="${''}"/>
            <parameter id="templateView" value="${'templates.photos.list'}"/>
            <parameter id="regionTemplate" value="${false}"/>
          </parameters>
    </taskFlow>
    And the photoContentQuery bean method return result of the Query i.e  SELECT * FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:xRegionDefinition = 'PHOTO_REG_DEF' AND ora:p:xArchiveFlag<>'No' ")
    I have a fragment with the portal resource attributes set as:
    Category name = Default Templates
    Category ID = oracle.webcenter.content.templates.default.category
    Category Default View = true
    View ID = templates.photos.list
    The above fragment has this code: I also made this fragment has portal resource.
    <dt:contentListTemplateDef var="nodes">
            <af:panelGroupLayout id="pnlContainer" layout="vertical"

    and
    <dt:contentTemplate node="#{node}"
                              view="template.photo"
                                nodesHint="#{nodes}"/>  this is another pagefragment contains the following code.
    <dt:contentTemplateDef var="node">
        <af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl2">

        </af:panelGroupLayout>
      </dt:contentTemplateDef>
    When I run my project on the Integrated WebLogic Server and when I click on my page, the data is coming empty.
    When I see the Administrator console, this content presenter template is in Hidden by default. I just edit the template and made it availabe. But still am unable to get result in the required template.
    On my page, if I do not specify the  <parameter id="templateView" value="${'templates.photos.list'}"/>, then I will get the result with default content presenter template.
    Could any one please help me out?
    Thanks
    Kotresh

    Hi,
    I am able to get the result with required custom content presenter template. But every time when I run the project , I need to explicitly need to make it "show" my custom content presenter display template i.e. in the Administration console, initially it is in Hidden state, I need to edit and make it show.
    I already made this template as portal resource  but why it is still be in Hidden state. what extra step do I need to make in order to move it to "show" state?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I am trying to create "View" in a Document Library and need to enable following:
    1. Mark as default View
    2. Folders -> Show this view : in Folders of Content Type : {Custom Content Type name}
    I am using following code which sets "in Folders of Content Type : " to "Folder" rather than selecting custom content type despite passing Content Type ID of custom content type.
    code:
    var itemContentTypes = clientContext.LoadQuery(web.AvailableContentTypes.Where(ct => ct.Name == viewContentType));
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    var itemContentType = itemContentTypes.FirstOrDefault();
    view.ContentTypeId = itemContentType.Id;
    view.DefaultViewForContentType = true;
    view.Update();
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    Please highlight what seems to be missing?
    Thanks
    Sonal

    Hi,
    Before you set the content type ID for the view, you need to add the custom content type to the library firstly.
    You can add the content type to library using OOTB feature “Add from existing site content types” in library settings or using Client Object Model.
    Here is a code snippet for your reference:
    var list = context.Web.Lists.GetByTitle(listTitle);
    list.ContentTypesEnabled = true;
    var contentType = context.Site.RootWeb.ContentTypes.GetById("0x0120");
    list.ContentTypes.AddExistingContentType(contentType);
    context.ExecuteQuery();

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got an error while creating custom document set content type.
    The issue is that you set the Inherits=”FALSE” in the element. If you set the Inherits=”TRUE”, the content type would work.
    Based on the article form MSDN:
    If Inherits is TRUE, the child content type inherits all fields that are in the parent, including fields that users have added.
    If Inherits is FALSE or absent and the parent content type is a built-in type, the child content type inherits only the fields that were in the parent content type when SharePoint Foundation was installed.
    The child content type does not have any fields that users have added to the parent content type.
    If Inherits is FALSE or absent and the parent content type was provisioned by a sandboxed solution, the child does not inherit any fields from the parent.
    It means if you set the Inherits to true, we would lose all our customization there.
    If we set Inherits="FALSE", which means you then have to remember to explicitly add into the definition all the stuff you should be inheriting, like the default Doc Set event receivers.

  • Issue with New Document in a document library with multiple content types

    Hi,
    I have a created a custom list definition based on a document library. I added 3 content types in this list, one is a document set (lets call it DOCSET), the two others are content types inheriting from Document (DOCA and DOCB).
    I deployed the list definition with a site scoped feature and the list instance with a web scoped feature. After activating the two features, the list is created and the content types are present in the list.
    When I click in the New Document button and choose either the DOCA or DOCB content type, a Word document opens and the DOCA content type is always associated to this Word document.
    With SharePoint Manager 2013 I saw that the template.dotx document was not in the Forms/DOCA or Forms/DOCB folder.
    So I decided to remove all the content types from the list definition and add them by code with the ListAdded event receiver. I used list.ContentTypes.Add to add the content types to the list.
    With this method the templates are correctly copied from the template.dotx in the RootFolder/Forms folder of my list. These templates have the rights content type id, but the New Document button still does not work properly.
    So I looked at the Content Types inside my library and saw that the DocumentTemplateUrl linked to the RootFolder/Forms/template.dotx and not the RootFolder/Forms/DOCA/template.dotx or RootFolder/Forms/DOCB/template.dotx.
    I debugged my code to look closer and see that right after the list.ContentTypes.Add, the DocumentTemplateUrl is correclty set but when my EventReceiver finishes, the DocumentTemplateUrl get back to the RootFolder/Forms/template.dotx.
    Have you any idea why this is not working ?
    Regards

    Hi,
    Per my understanding, there is an issue about the DOCA and DOCB content types which inherits from Document Content Type in your custom list definition.
    By default, if there is a custom content type inherits the OOTB Document Content Type, it will also inherits the template.dotx file from the OOTB Document Content Type.
    The template URL of a custom content type which inherits the OOTB Document Content Type:
    If you want to specify different templates for different content types, the code demo below would be helpful:

  • What's wrong with this content type definition?

    Could someone tell me what's wrong with this content type definition? When I click "New Folder" in a custom list, it should bring two fields 1) Name 2) Custom Order. However in my case when I click new folder, I see 1) Member (which is totally

    According to your post, my understanding is that you had an issue about the custom content type with custom column.
    I don’t think there is any issue in the content type definition, and it also worked well in my environment.
    Did you have the Member field in the project?
    I recommend you create a simple project only with one custom Order column and one custom Folder_OrderColumn, then you can add more fields one by one.
    By doing this, it will be easier to find out the root cause of this error.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Document Sets and Content Types

    Hi All,
    I am having trouble in getting the "document sets" content types applied as expected when I try to create a site based off custom template.
    Scenario:
    We have 8 document sets stored in a document library. This library is part of a site which we have saved as a template.
    E.g. of document sets is "Others", "Meetings" etc
    Each of these document sets have one or more content types associated with it.
    We are trying to create a site based off the saved site template using powershell.
    E.g. $web = New-SPWeb http://myserver/sites/mysite/subsite
    $web.ApplyWebTemplate("{GUID}#Name of Template")
    When we open the document sets in this newly created site, the content types seem to be coming all together rather than being associated with the specific document set.
    E.g. Clicking "New document" in the "others" document set would show up content types from "meeting" and all the remaining document sets present in that library.
    Interestingly, when I go to "Document Set" settings, I only see the content type of "Others" Document Set.
    Any idea why the "New document" dropdown for the document set is not behaving as expected?

    Hi Abhi,
    Based on your description, I did a test. In my testing, everything worked well.
    The steps are:
    Go to Site Actions->Site Settings->Site content types.
    Create a new content type, and select parent content type from Document Set Content Types, and Parent Content Type: Document Set
    Click ok
    Under Settings, click Document Set settings
    On the Allowed Content Type section, select some content types and add them
    Click OK
    Then repeat step2-6, and create another custom document set
    Open your library, and allow management of content types in advanced settings
    Add the two document sets into the library
    Check each document set, and each one had different content types
    Save the site as a template and include the content
    Create a new site based on the site template using PowerShell(the command was same with yours)
    After creating, check the document sets of the library in the new site, everything worked well.
    Please check your process as the above steps.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy

  • Content type, list definition and List instance - query

    Dear all,
    I created a list content type, list definition and list instance for a SessionsList.
    I did mistake when created a event receiver file where field name is RegistrationsInfo - did typo error as RegistrationInfo. This field I want to make it as false in the ShowInNewForm= false
    When I deploy it with event receiver file - I am getting stack trace error stating that the RegistrationsInfo field is missing.
    Without event receiver file - when I deploy the solution and checked the field name - it is showing rightly as RegistrationsInfo.

    Thanks
    Sathya

    Hi Sathya,
    Seems the field “RegistrationsInfo” is not been found when deploying with Event Receiver, a possible reason is that it might be damaged.
    As a workaround, I suggest you retract the solution from your farm, make sure the “RegistrationsInfo” field is deleted using PowerShell, then create another project with the same
    content and perform the deployment again.
    About how to delete a field using PowerShell for your reference:
    https://peterheibrink.wordpress.com/2011/12/09/powershell-delete-field-and-all-references/
    http://www.sharepointfix.com/2011/04/powershell-script-to-delete-site.html
    Feel free to reply if there any progress.
    Thanks

  • How to Enforce Sharepoint 2013 content type validation rules when modifying document using Word 2013

    Good day,
    I have two date columns (Start Date and End Date) in a content type in Sharepoint 2013.  A file library uses this content type.
    In the document template I have the two dates (Start Date and End Date) showing in the Document Panel.  I can edit them well enough and they show in the document correctly.
    In the content type I have validation rules that the End Date must be greater than the Start Date.
    The question is, how can I enforce this validation on the client side in Word.  Is there anyway to achieve this?
    The user will not have access to change the document properties in Sharepoint. (Not my call)
    Thank-you!

    The "panel" is called the Document Information Panel in SharePoint. You can customize this using InfoPath from the page where you created / edited your Content Type. Go to Settings, Site Settings Content Types, edit your content type, click Document
    Information Panel and then click "Edit this template". In InfoPath you can create a Rule to enforce your dates.
    This may require the Enterprise Edition of SharePoint to support the InfoPath Forms Services.

  • Unable to edit ReadItem and ReadList operations on one specific external content type

    I'm experiencing a strange behavior.  Here is the scenario:
    - In Sharepoint Designer I create external content type A that uses external system X
    - I define ReadItem and ReadList operations for this external content type
    - I then create external content B that uses the exact same external system X and define ReadItem and ReadList operations for this external content type
    - I then go back to external content type A, select ReadList and click Edit This Operation
    - I get a message : "This operation cannot be matched with any objects in your data source.  There may be an error in the operation definition in Business Data Connectivity Metadata Store or the data source schema has changed since the operation
    was created"
    - I tried to edit ReadList operation of external content type B and it works with no problems.
    - so I delete the ReadItem and ReadList operations for external content type A, refresh external system X, and then recreate the ReadItem and ReadList operations for external content type A.
    - When I try to edit the ReadList (or ReadItem) operation I get the same error message and I'm not able to edit this operation.
    This used to work a week or so ago, meaning that I was able to edit the ReadItem and ReadList operations for both external content types.  Now, the operations cannot be edited anymore for external content type A but can be edited with no problems for
    external content type B.  For content type A, if I want to make any changes I have to delete the ReadItem and ReadList operations and recreate them.  Does anybody have any idea as to what the problem might be?  These two external content types
    use the same external system which is a table of employees and project they worked on.  The only difference is that external content type A has a filter by employee ID defined and external content type B has a filter by project ID defined.
    thanks,

    Hi bbatl,
    I did a test as the followigs:
    Open SQL Management Studio, create a table containing a filed called “employee ID” and a filed called “project ID”.
    Add some data into the table.
    Open my site with SharePoint Designer 2010, create a new external content type called TestA.
    Connect the external content type TestA to the table that I created in step 1.
    Create Read Item and Read List operations in the content type. When creating Read List operation, add a filter based on “employee ID”.
    Click Save.
    Create another external content type called TestB
    Connect the external content type TestB to the table which was created in step 1.
    Create Read Item and Read List operations in the content type. When creating Read List operation, add a filter based on “project ID”.
    Click Save.
    Then I went back to edit the Read List operation of external content type TestA via clicking Read List operation under External Content Type operations->Edit Operation.
    No error displayed.
    So, I could not reproduce this issue.
    Whether you got the error when you clicked “Edit Operation” in SharePoint Designer. Please provide a screenshot about this issue.
    Please check whether someone has changed the table special for the column “employee ID”.
    And whether you have created an external list using the problematic external content type. If yes, please check whether it could work well.
    Best Regards,
    Wendy
