Suppress 0 in a formula field in BEx query

How do I suppress a field value if its zero in BEx query?

thanks.
But where in the general tab.
Under Display> Hide> If I select 'Always Hide', its hiding the field description also, but I just want to supress the value.
and the formula field is part of the structure.

  • Formula field in Bex Query Desingner 7.0

    Hi Everyone,
I have two columns Accrued and Payment. Accrued is a simple formula and working fine. Payment is little complex basically I am saying if( Date B is greater then 0) then perform Date A is >= Date B then give me value of....
    DATE((SUMCT 'DATE B' >0)) * DATE(( 'DATE A' >= 'DATE B')) * ZMFL
    1. With the above formula I am able to achieve payment results at line item but overall result is different.
    2. if I restrict  Billing Documents to more then one agreement billing documents then I am getting 0.00 at the line item level and overall result is right.
    3. And if I don't restrict with any billing document numbers neither my lines nor my overall result is working they both giving me straight zeros.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I also tried to play with aggregation by different reference characteristics.
Thanks a lot for your time in advance,
    Tanny

    Hi Thomas,
We encountered the same problem., but unfortunately finally we ended up with no solution for this.
I dont think, this is possible with Query designer 7.0.
The solution we opted was to go with a . (dot) as a description for that formula/selection.

  • F4 help on Bex query selection screen

    Hi,
On the selection screen of a particular field of  Bex query , if the user selects F4 help (input value help), typically it picks up all values in the infoprovider for that field.
Is there any way to retrict those values.
    Eg : Cube has values A, B , C for field A .
When the user selects value help on field A of the Bex query written on the cube, the requirement is to show only A and B.
    thanks.

    Hi,
We do this in our project:
you can use BW Reporting Variable type Auth Exit.
In the Step 0, you define what are allowed for that user. It will then automatically show only auth.zed values.

  • Formula Problem in BEx

    Dear All,
I am using BEx Query Designer to make a query.I view the report using browser. I have 2 keyfigure fields "price" and "forecast quantity". I have to arrive at "forecast Value" = price * forecast quantity using formula in Query designer. Although for each material this proves correct in report material wise. If I see the report customer-wise a customer who has bought 10 materials first the prices are added up andthen the forecast quantity is added up and then the sums are multiplied to get forecast value which is wrong.
    Illustration :
    For Customer 1 :
                    Quantity    Price     Value(Quantity * price)
    Material1   | 2           | 10        | 20
    Material2   | 3           | 10        | 30
    Material3   | 5           | 10        | 50
    Material4   | 7           | 10        | 70
    Total         | 17          | 40        | 170 = Correct value
But if I see report customer wise I get the value as 17 * 40 = 680 which is wrong.
Is there any way when I see an aggregation of materials the calculation in formula column first multiplies individual rows and then add the rows to give me final value?
    Regards,
    Ratish

    Hello ,
Right click on the calculated key figure select properties enhanced and change to Before aggregation , now the result is calculated correctly.
But if you use before aggregation, the cubes aggregates are not used, so this will have negative effect on performance , this property is applicable to query level key figures.
    hope it is clear

  • Select records based on formula field

I have a formula field that I am trying to sort data by. I want to eliminate records that come up with a 0 in this formula field. I tried select expert, but it doesn't recognize the field.

    Hi Steve,
You cannot sort on a formula field that uses printime functions or executes in the 'whileprintingrecords' phase - example would be running totals or formulae based on shared variables from the subreport.
What you can however do is, suppress records where the formula returns zero.
To do this, go to the Section Expert > Select the section you wish to suppress > Click the formula button beside 'Suppress' and use this code"
    {@Formula_name} = 0

  • Formula field won't display

    Post Author: Richard bates
    CA Forum: General
Sorry for the overly-generic subject, but I'm not exactly sure how to classify this problem.  I'm convinced it's a Crystal Reports bug but would be delighted to be convinced otherwise.  Here's the issue:
Whenever I create a formula field in the format of trim(field A) " "trim(fieldB) and use the field in a report, if field B is null the data for the entire field will be skipped in the report.  Doesn't matter if the formula is in a group header or the detail line, the result is the same.  I've created a formula with the obvious conditionals, ie, if field B is null then trim(field A) else trim(fieldA)" " trim(fieldB) but that doesn't work either.  I am trying to combine two address lines.  In most cases there is not a second address field, so most addresses don't display using this method.  Someone on another board suggested a workaround which I am using (placing the second address line in it's own group and then suppressing the group when empty) but I have another instance where this won't work, ie, in the detail line.  I'm trying to actually combined three fields (first name, last name, and title).  In this case it is title which is usually blank.
Am I missing something head-slapping obvious here?
    Thanks in advance

Seems to me I've come across the same thing way back.  It is a crystal thing, bug or just the odd way crystal does some stuff, I'm not sure (is there a difference?)  I can't remember what my fix was, think I may have had some logic similar to what you tried, but I had more than 2 address fields to compare, it sucked. You could try this (basic syntax):dim str0 as stringdim str1 as stringstr0 = trim{field A}str1 = iif (isnull ( {field B} ), "", trim {field B})formula = str0 & " " & str1 Add the iff logic to str0 as well if field A can be null. Things like this are why, when possible, I like to build as much logic as possible into a database view and then just use crystal for displaying the data.

  • How to appear a formula field for once at a fom-like report?

    Hi All,
I have created a formula field and then set the property "Maximum Records per page" to the value 12 for the repeating frame containing this field and all other fields.
Now I want to make an exception for that formula field
I want it to be appeared only for one time not 12 times!
    how to do this Plz?

    Hi,
I assume that your formula column is at a higher level than your repeating frame (in other case it's not clear which value you want to display). Bring the filed representing the formula column behind the repeating frame, then it's diplayed only once.

  • Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query

    Hi
I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.

    Hi,
    take a look here:
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/02/19/businessobjects-and-sap-part-2
make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

  • Usage of formulas in conditions in BEx Query Designer

    Hi guys,
does anybody of you guys know, if it's possible to use the results of formulas in conditions? I tried it, but the result of the query was "No applicable data found", but there are data for the selection.
When I'm defining the condition with the key figure (no restricted or calculated key figure), then the query can be executed.
In my case, I like to define a condition based on a formula result. The value should only be displayed, when the result is greater than 30.
Any ideas or are there any bugy in the BEx Query Designer?
Thanks a lot + best regards,
    Clemens

    Hi Clemens,
I have created a condition in my own system based on formula and it works perfectly fine. Please check following points in your condition change mode,
    1) Condition is marked as Active.
    2) In the block "Evaluate condition below for" you will have to select "All characteristics in drilldown Independently". If you have selected combination of characteristics then you will have to maintain proper sequence otherwise your condition will not work.
    3) In the next block when you set the condition, click on new, in the first block select your Formula from dropdown and set the proper operator in your case you will have to select "Greater than" in the next column set the value of key figure and just trasnfer it.
Now you are ready to use the condition.
