Supressing repeated values in hierarchy.

Hi,
this is what i wanna do. I have a hierarchy in query in my rows and another char also in the rows. When i run the query, the hierarchy node shows along with the other char in rows and the required KF's in columns. So far so good. But when i expand the hierarchy node, it shows all the leaves beneath, along with other char too. but the other chars is displayed twice, once for the node and once for the leaves.
now the question is, is there a way i can supress the values for the other char i have along with the hierarchy IO when i expand the node.
result now:
costcenter order KF
IT 100 100
200 200
SAP 100 100
SOFT 200 200
EXPECTED RESULT: when the IT is expanded
costcenter order KF
IT
SAP 100 100
SOFT 200 200
Any clue?

i removed the hierarchy on the IO, i mean in the properties. But created a variable on hierarchy in the restriction. in the left side in the selection box - pick your hierarchy instead of flat list. So in the variable screen the user would be able to pick the node but in the report, the values would be displayed as single values without any repetitions.

• SUPRESS REPEATING VALUES

Hi,
I have a customer table which I am joining with an address table and another customer code table. There may be many codes and addreses for a CUSTOMER. I need to run a sql statement which will give me output like this.
CUSTOMER_ID addr1 code
10000 100 Main street, My city... 20
200 My Street, That City.... 30
283 That Street, City1 ..... 40
20000 103 Any Street, City2 .... 912
102 My Road, City3 ..... 210
How could I do this? Is this only possible with break command in sqlplus? If I want to get the output like this for an application, how could I do it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The formatting and presentation of data is something that logically belongs in the presentation layer, so it is something that your application really needs to handle. Precisely how you handle it really depends on your application's architecture. If you are displaying data in some sort of grid control, for example, the grid control may have a setting to supress duplicates.
I suspect that this would be total overkill, but you could use the CURSOR function to return a customer_id and a ResultSet of the address & code values associated with that customer_id. Something like
SELECT customer_id,
CURSOR( SELECT addr1, code
FROM <
> inner
WHERE inner.customer_id = outer.customer_id )
FROM <
> outerJustin

• Supress Keyfigure Values

Hi All,
I have a requirement wherein each opportunity id has to pull multiple business partners assigned to that opportunity. So, in order to get this i created an infoset with a combination of an infocube and two other info Objects. Now the results are coming up as expected.
The issue I have is that the keyfigure values are appearing in each row for all business partners and the values are repeating along the rows assigned to each opportunity and the way users wanted is the keyfigure values must appear on first row only and rest below rows must be blank.
Thanks

Hi Gopi,
There is an option to supress repeated Key Values. This option is available in Query Designer and Bex Analyzer as well.
Steps to Achieve this:
Query Designer:
1. Open Query in Query Designer.
2. Select the Display tab from the Properties pane. (This will appear on the right side of the screen).
3. You will find the check box - Hide repeated Key Values.
4. Select that check box.
BEx Analyzer:
1. Open Query or template or Workbook.
2. Right click on any value and select Query Properties.
3. Select the Display Options tab.
4. You will find the check box - Hide repeated Key Values.
5. Select that check box.

• Mobile List Bind aggregation - repeated values?

Hi all, i'm new to SAPui5 so please forgive me if this is already discussed.
I'm calling a odata service (http://h03zdb.hcc.uni-magdeburg.de:8003/workshop/sessiona/12/Services/msgTab.xsodata/MSGTABLE?$filter=FROM%20eq%20%27STU…) and I get the values stored in a table in json. I want to show this in a list but there are repeated values created for the list. Is it because of bindAggregation?

Here is the whole code.
I used split app and added two models for the detail and master page.
I'm very new to this so sorry for bad coding

• ALV: How do I suppress repeating values and page breaks on printed output?

Good day, everyone!
First, I've done a LOT of searching trying to find the answer to my question, but I'm not finding an answer. If this has already been answered and you can point me to a URL, I would appreciate it.
Here's my issue: I have a rather simple ALV report. It has the columns of Person ID, Personnel Number, For Period, In Period, and Amount. I sort by Person ID and Personnel Number, and if the value repeats on the next line of the report, I want to suppress it (make it blank).
I thought the answer was in the following code, where I set the GROUP attribute to asterisk:
CLEAR sortcat_ln.
sortcat_ln-spos = '1'.
sortcat_ln-fieldname = 'PERSONID_EXT'.
sortcat_ln-up = c_true.
sortcat_ln-group = '*'.
APPEND sortcat_ln TO sortcat.
CLEAR sortcat_ln.
sortcat_ln-spos = '2'.
sortcat_ln-fieldname = 'PERNR'.
sortcat_ln-up = c_true.
sortcat_ln-group = '*'.
APPEND sortcat_ln TO sortcat.
It looks PERFECT on the screen -- the values are suppressed if they repeat, and everything appears together on one screen. However, when I print the report, two things happen: 1) The values repeat on each row, even if they are the same, and 2) I get a page break after each Person ID / Personnel Number combination.
I now realize that I can't use the GROUP attribute. Is there some other way in ALV to blank these repeating values and keep all the rows together on one page, rather than page breaking after each value change?
Thanks!
Dave

Hi
Same requirement i had before, when i try to print preview. the output of the grid display is in grouping is ok, but when i print preview or print it doesnt cater the grouping and page breaks, so what i did i modify the internal table use in alv , after hitting the print preview/print with the format desired by the user. you can do that in user-command. see code below
FORM user_command USING r_ucomm TYPE syucomm
rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
DATA lt_sort TYPE lvc_t_sort.
CASE r_ucomm.
WHEN '&RNT_PREV' OR '&RNT'.
t_final_x[] = t_final[].
PERFORM clear_redundant.
PERFORM set_sort_criteria USING lt_sort.
WHEN '&F03' OR '&PRINT_BACK_PREVIEW'.
t_final[] = t_final_x[].
WHEN OTHERS.
ENDCASE.
ENDFORM. "user_command
hope it helps

• No repeated values and in ascendant sort

Hi all,
I'm trying to put this:
SELECT DISTINCT month FROM Concert ORDER BY month ASC;
(no repeated values and in ascendant sort) into EJB-QL. This is what I've worked out:
SELECT DISTINCT OBJECT(o)
FROM Concert AS o
ORDER BY o.month ASC
(month is a field in the bean )
But this (and several tries later) doesn't work.
What's wrong with it??
The query is for a findAll method -without- input parameters which returns a collection, is here the error??? If so, how can I solve it?
I'm totally lost and frustrated, I'd really appreciate some light
Thanks a lot in advance

Your query is currect if table name and attribute name are currect.
Can you write what type of error is comming?

• Preaggregation across value based hierarchy dimension in 11g

Hi All,
I have created a cube with 6 dimensions in olap 11g. One of those six dimensions has only one hierarchy which is value based hierarchy. I have chosen level based aggregation as I know at what levels exactly users are going to query. When I was going through the dimensions to choose levels to preaggregate I noticed there were no options available for my value based hierarchy dimension ( I could see "all" option for the same case in 10g) then I tried to look for definitions of underlying objects just to make sure it will preaggregate data across my value based hierarchy dimension.
I found value set corresponding to my value based hierarchy dimension in <CUBE NAME>SOLVEAGGMAP object , which AWM uses to decide which dimension values to preaggregate but if I do rpr on that value set (rp r<CUBE NAME>SOLVE<DIMENSION NAME>_PVSET) it shows NA so my question is can I pre aggregate across value based hierarchy dimension in olap 11g?
Olap Version: 11.2.0.1
AWM version: 11.2.0.1
Thanks

Even if you know exactly which levels your users will query, percent based precompute (e.g. 30%) may still be faster in practice because queries are returned using 'sparse looping' instead of 'dense looping'. This was the single biggest performance advantage of 11g over 10g.
But if you still want to use level based precompute, then you should look at the XML template for the cube (as saved by AWM, for example). In it you should find something called PrecomputeCondition. This defines the set of members that are precomputed. Here is an example I just created using the GLOBAL schema
<PrecomputeCondition>

"TIME" LEVELS ("TIME"."MONTH", "TIME".CALENDAR_QUARTER, "TIME".CALENDAR_YEAR),
CHANNEL LEVELS (CHANNEL.TOTAL_CHANNEL, CHANNEL.CHANNEL),
CUSTOMER LEVELS (CUSTOMER.MARKET_SEGMENT, CUSTOMER.REGION, CUSTOMER.SHIP_TO),
PRODUCT LEVELS (PRODUCT.CLASS, PRODUCT.FAMILY, PRODUCT.ITEM)
</PrecomputeCondition>The PrecomputeCondition is also visible through the USER_CUBES view.
SELECT PRECOMPUTE_CONDITION
FROM USER_CUBES
WHERE CUBE_NAME = 'MY_CUBE';You can hand modify this condition in the XML to specify an alternative 'non level based' precompute condition for any dimension. For example, if you define an attribute named 'SHOULD_PRECOMPUTE' on your PRODUCT dimension that is 1 for members to be precomputed and 0 for all others, then you can change the condition as follows.
<PrecomputeCondition>

"TIME" LEVELS ("TIME"."MONTH", "TIME".CALENDAR_QUARTER, "TIME".CALENDAR_YEAR),
CHANNEL LEVELS (CHANNEL.TOTAL_CHANNEL, CHANNEL.CHANNEL),
CUSTOMER LEVELS (CUSTOMER.MARKET_SEGMENT, CUSTOMER.REGION, CUSTOMER.SHIP_TO),
PRODUCT WHERE PRODUCT.SHOULD_PRECOMPUTE = 1
</PrecomputeCondition>If you recreate the cube from the XML with this condition, then the PVSET valueset you discovered should contain all dimension members for which the attribute value is 1. This gives you complete control over what is precomputed. Note that AWM doesn't support this form of condition, so it won't show up if you go to the Precompute tab, but it is valid for the server. The PL/SQL below will modify the PrecomputeCondition (for the cube named MYCUBE) without going through AWM.
begin
dbms_cube.import_xml(q'!

• Value based hierarchy 11g question

Hi,
in my BMM i've created a level based hierarchy composed of two levels: TOTAL and Audiologist
Total level is setted as Grand Total level and doesn't have logical columns.
At audiologist level insted i drag and drop two logical columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name
Then i created two keys.
First Key: Audiologist Code - Use to display: None
Second Key: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name - Use to display : YES
Graphically my hierarchy is as follow:
Total-----
Audiologist
Audiologist Code
Audiologist Name
Now i would like that if i drill down Total appear simultaneously two columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name.
Is it possible? I remember that in 10 it was.
It's quite urgent.
Thanks

Based on my experience of OWB10gR2 the option to create a "Value Based" hierarchy is only enabled if you create an AW based OLAP model. If you want to create a ROLAP model then I do not think this is possible.
Question is why create a ROLAP model when you could get better performance and more powerful analytical features by using a multidimensional model within an analytic workspace.

• Display Repeated Values in a Crosstab - Design Studio 1.2

I've a report in Design Studio from a Bex query. There are repeated values in few columns which Design Studio 1.2 refuses to display.
note: I've already unchecked the box "Hide Repeated Key Values" in the query properties of Bex query designer and i'm able to see repeated values when I open the query in Bex analyzer.
Design studio would not display the repeated values in the crosstab.
Anyone encountered and fixed a similar issue before?

Hi Stephen,
I was not able to resolve this issue, and I had to go ahead with values not being repeated.
I think this is a limitation of Design Studio with no fix for it in v 1.3 either, unless someone could suggest otherwise.

• Parent-child hierarchy (Value based hierarchy)

As anyone created a parent-child hierarchy using Oracle Warehouse Builder or Analytic Workspace Manager. I am using Oracle 10g Rel2 (and AWM) and OWB 10g Rel2.
The values in the dimension table defines the hierarchy.
I don't see an option of creating a value-based hierarchy in OWB though it is mentioned that it supports this particular hierarchy.
In AWM, I am able to create the hierarchy but when I try to view the data in the dimension it gives an error BIB-9531 Invalid hierarchy specified.
Can you please let me know if I am missing something.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Regards,
Maruthi

I've done some work with this, and it hasn't been easy going. There is no built-in ability to form a hierarchy of measure columns, at least nothing that can be predefined as the drill for a fact column. For example: I have 220 details of expense that have an exact arrangement with 5 levels and subtotals. Besides the expense detail there are say 4 dimensions, so the expense detail would be the 5th dimension. I have both arrangements in my rpd: 4D and 5D. They can be used together or separately. The 4D basically has 1000's of measures and there is no relationship between them besides the display arrangement in Answers. The 5D has a 5 column dimension that can drill the expense column from Total_Expense down to the 220 rows of detail expense.

Hi nancharaiah,
If I understand correctly, you want to pass distinct values to report parameter. In Reporting Service, there are only three methods for parameter's Available Values:
None
Specify values
Get values from a query
If we utilize the third option that get values from a dataset query, then the all available values are from the returns of the dataset. So if we want to pass distinct values from a dataset, we need to make the dataset returns distinct values. The following
sample is for your reference:
Select distinct field_name from table_name

• Web Report - Hide Repeated Values

My web report hides repeated values regardless of the query setting.
Is there any way to set a specific column to not hide repeated values? Using the table API?
Thanks!

dear Kenneth,
have you try to remove the check mark of properties 'suppress repeated text' in 'specific' section of your web item 'table' in web template ?
or you can give parameter SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS for web item 'table' with value blank

• Avoid repeating values in details section

Hi,
I have a report with a lot of formulas - depending on certain values in a certain Oracle database table values are summed up.
The fields are therefore placed in the report footer.
As I now have to insert a grouping I need to move the fields into the details section. However, I don't want to display each value there but only the sum - I would like to avoid repeating values in the details section.
A formula looks like this:
stringvar A1;
if {OUR_TABLE_FIELD} = 1 then A1 := {OTHER_TABLE.OTHER_FIELD}
Else A1:=A1;
A1;
Thanks!

Add a suitable group and then display data in this group footer, suppress detail section. It will effectively show the last detail line and thus eliminate duplicates from view. However, data is still there so if you want to use summaries you will need to use Running totals to ensure duplicates are not counted/summed
