SWF / Flash file links in mail

I am trying to send out a html email which contains a flash swf file.
The file is loaded from one of my websites
The flash movie is displayed correctly and works in every respect apart from the links to external website will not work.
The cursor change to a hand but when you click nothing happens.
The email and links work fully on any pc and will work on the mac if i download the swf file to my desktop.
Is there a setting in Mail which stops the email opening a browser?
Many thanks in advance
John

this is the code i am using i flash
on (release) {
//Goto Webpage Behavior
getURL("http://www.website-address.com/","_blank");
//End Behavior

  • Running a .swf (Flash file) in JMF

    Hi,
    In my application i have to run .swf(Flash file) file. I have to do it using Java API. Can i do it using JMF.If so, how to do it. Is there any other API available to run .swf files in java.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    I don't know as much as most users here, but I have put up
    about 18 different photo galleries on my DW site (almost ready to
    be published).
    I had to go into each code page where I wanted the gallery to
    appear and paste the swf etc code. And it had to be pasted into the
    code page not the design page.
    Now, when I click a link to the specific page and look at it
    in the design view, all I see is a large grey object. I can go into
    the page properties and look at it that way, but I usually just
    view it in my browzers. This Flash album is designed to work in the
    browzer, not actually on the DW design page unless I specifically
    click something.
    This may not help you, as I said, this is my first site and
    photo album dealings.
    Good Luck

  • Inflated SWF Flash file cannot play in IE but Firefox & Netscape

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to do some file protection by inflating a SWF
    Flash file.
    Once the Flash file is inflated, the filesize grows but does
    not add any physical data bits to the SWF file.
    After that tweaking, the SWF file cannot play in IE 6.0
    (Internet Explorer).
    However, it still plays perfectly well under Firefox &
    Netscape.
    I know IE use Flash ActiveX while Firefox & Netscape uses
    Flash plugins. Is it the reason for such behaviour?
    Any advice to make the inflated SWF file to play in IE
    please?
    Thank you very much.

  • Disable .swf (Flash File) Generated as an Attch in Email Delivered byIBOT

    .swf Adobe Flash file is generated when i am scheduling an IBOT to the user , In the IBOT i am delivering an Answers request and i can access the answers request and ATT288***.swf File is generated as an attachment , How can Disable that file from generating as an Email attachment.
    Thanks
    ~Srix

    Hi Srix,
    All OBIEE chart objects are generated by Corda Popcharts. Corda generates charts using Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash file formats are .swf (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWF'>Shockwave Flash</a>).
    Does the report you're emailing have a chart object in it?  My guess is that your report does have a chart object and that is the .swf attachment you are seeing.
    If you do not want the .swf attachment, you can change the output format to pdf or other formats in the iBot.
    Hope that helps!

  • Center swf flash file

    This seems really basic but how do I get a flash/swf file to
    center on the page? Nothing I've tried seems to work. Align
    commands affect how it aligns with text but I am using a large area
    with no text to the left or right. I just want the flash file in
    the middle of the page and can't get it there.

    Hello,
    You can put the flash in a container and center the
    container.
    <div id="flashwrapper"> ...flash... </div>
    CSS:
    #flashwrapper {
    width: 500px;
    margin: 0px auto;
    Adjust the width in #flashwrapper to the width of the flash
    object.
    Take care,

  • Swf flash files are not displaying neatly within table cells.

    The latest version of Firefox (3.6.12) The website I have design now shows thick lines underneath the flash files. URL Below. The table of pictures should be neat, instead the cells in which the flash files are contained are increasing in height and breaking apart the table . This does not happen in previous version of Firefox, Internet Explorer & Google Chrome.
    Is there anything i should be doing different when inserting flash files into web pages that have complex tables? Or is this a problem with Firefox?

    Add a rule object { display: block } to the stylesheet. An object is an inline element by default.

  • How to incorporate swf flash files into dreamweaver

    Hi,
    In my index.html I have a table with some flash buttons and

    I have linked directly to the swf, and when previewed it
    works fine. When I upload it to my host server the html page
    appears blank with no flash movies.
    So do I have to point to the flash html file? insead of

    It's not OK. It won't work at all.

  • What is the maximum size of a .swf flash file that can be created for DMM

    Please help,
    I am running DMM 5.2.1 and was wondering what is the maximum size of a .swf file that can be created and play SMOOTHLY on the screens (screen dimension 1366 x 768px).
    Kind regards.

    Hi Nicholas,
    You can refer to the content creation best practices documented at the following link:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_2/dmd/best/practices/guidelines.html#wp1168116
    As you can read there:
    - if the SWF file size is greater than 500KB, you may start to see high memory consumption on the DMP.
    - regarding resolutions, the SWF can be up to 1920 x 1080 when animations within the SWF are small and are restricted to a 640x480 region.
    Regards,
    Marco

  • Using .swf flash files in iMovie

    I know that .swf files are not like other video files at all, but is there any solution for converting these files on Mac? I use flash CS3, and it does a pretty pathetic job exporting them. (the quality is crappy)
    Soooo, is there a Quicktime plugin or something that will somehow let me edit .swf in iMovie?
    (I have snow leopard)
    And please, don't say "Well I think (program) opens them..." I want people who actually KNOW how to convert .swf files for iMovie. NOT .flv files, those are completely different.

  • .swf flash file not displayed in browser

    We moved a site from a different machine to our osx server and now all .swf files show up empty in any browser
    In the apache logs they seem to served. How do I solve this

    We discovered that the windows ftp program used to upload the files messed them up. Probably transfer as text or something.

  • SWF/flash files are automaticly starts downliading.

    by visiting http://www.delfi.lt/ SWF files utomaticly starts downloading.

    Would you provide a example page where the SWF files are downloading? I checked a few articles, I was unable to find any videos.
    What device are you using?

  • Insert an swf file into another Flash file

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to flash trying to insert an SWF flash file (a game) into another Flash file. However, when I import the swf file into the library and drag it onto the frame (and insert the stop(); command onto the frame action to stop it playing the whole movie), the SWF file plays constantly, ignoring all the actionscript and button commands in the game SWF file.
    When I try inserting it using the Window component, the game SWF refuses to play at all - it just stops (clicking buttons in the game work, but it goes-to-and-stops instead of go-to-and-play like it's supposed to do). The only other component I could find was called "Loader". Using this doesn't work either, it won't play any of the animation, just like using the "Window" component
    When the game SWF is played by itself (by just double-clicking to open it from Windows Explorer or embedding it in a web page), it works fine.
    Any help how to do this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I'm posting in this thread because my problem seems similar but may be not...
    In my first swf, I'm loading a second swf via loadClip().
    My second swf works well alone but when I try to integrate itself in my first swf I'm losing my events. My events only works on my first swf.
    I'v tried your trick with _lockroot but he doesn't work for me too.
    Is someone have an idea to help me ?
    Thx
    My code is really basic
    First swf:
            var mcloader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
            var listener:Object = new Object();
            listener.onLoadInit = function (mc:MovieClip){
                main_obj.__preloader.die();
                obj[funct](target_mc, param);
            mcloader.addListener(listener);
            mcloader.loadClip(file_name, __loader);
    Second swf:
        var box:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("box"+depth, this.getNextHighestDepth());
        //Draw box
        drawBox(...);
        // Event on Box, Change Alpha and show arrow or not
        box.onRollOver = function() {
            drawBox(...);

  • Flash files as images in XML Forms

    Hi Crew,
    Anyone had to use flash files in XML forms Based Publishing?
    Have created a simple XML Project asking the user to select two images, and these are then displayed in an iView.
    gifs & jpegs display no problemo.   swf (flash files) do not.
    Any ideas?
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
    I need to display a .swf file in a XML form. I read the solution that you have posted about modifying the XSL file, but i have no clue how to go ahead with this.
    Could you kindly provide any document, link or the solution as to how to modify the XSL file ?
    Any kind of help would be truly appreciated.

  • Ad rotator - add supporting gif for flash file

    Hi there, I am using the ad rotator to host 3rd party advertising. I have been supplied with a flash file (swf) and also a gif version of the ad. I want to be able to point to the gif file if the swf file is not able to be played by the browser/device. Is this possible within the ad rotator to have a fall-back gif file?
    thanks

    This functionality isn't native to BC but I've done this before for a client.  Just beware that using an .swf (flash) file embed for the ad won't let you track the BC Ad Rotator links.  Typical, image-only ads in the AdRotator can be tracked in BC's reporting but using a .swf file doesn't work and you have to embed the link in the actual .swf file itself.  Before we get you working with a flash fallback solution, if you have access to the .swf file or can tell your client what URL to use in the flash ad then you should use the AdRotator trackign URL if you can.  Do do that, setup an image-only ad rotator item first in one of your ad rotators.  Add that rotator to a demo page to get the URL of the ad rotator (it contains the unique id of your ad for tracking). Once you have that URL you can update your flash file to use that URL to take advantage of tracking on BC or give it to your customer to update the flash file themselves before sending you the flash file.
    Once you've taken care of the link in the flash ad or if you don't care about not tracking flash ad clicks in BC's reporting system, let's move on to building a flash fallback ad solution. We'll be using SWFObject which is the correct way to embed flash with fallback content.  The hardest part of this whole scenario is we have to get the ID of the ad rotator item (not the ad rotator ID) below.
    The javascript I came up with requires jQuery and it's usually already loaded on many sites. Make sure jQuery is loaded in the HEAD of your page or page template where you'll be serving the ads in the ad rotator.
    Download the SWFObject project and unzip it locally.
    Upload the whole "swfobject" folder to the root of your website.
    In your page template or page that you will be serving your ads on, add this script reference to the HEAD of your HTML doc:<script src="/swfobject/swfobject.js"></script>
    Download my custom javascript function and upload it somewhere on your website. For this example we'll assume you are placing it in the "js" folder in the root of your site.
    In your page or page template where you'll be serving ads, reference the script you just downloaded. Make sure it goes after our swfobject.js and jquery references in the head of your HTML doc:<script src="/js/adRotatorFlashFallback.js"></script>
    Now that our jQuery, SWFObject & adRotatorFlashFallback scripts are in place in the HEAD of our page or page template, let's move on to creating your ads with fallback content
    Upload the backup image you want to use for non-flash devices to your website and remember the URL/path of that image. For our example we'll use "/images/demoad.gif".
    Upload your .swf file to your site and rember the URL/path to that file. We'll need it later.
    Once the image and flash file are uploaded we'll create our ad rotator item for that ad:
    Create a new ad rotator item
    Choose the Item Type as HTML
    Add your Label (title) and Item Click-thru URL
    In the Item HTML box manually insert your HTML markup for the image:
    <img src="/images/demoad.gif" width="125" height="125" />
    (I won't be covering styling the ad so you can wrap a div around that image if you want to use some CSS to target the ad:(Optional) <div class="ad-item"><img src="/images/demoad.gif" width="125" height="125" /></div>
    Save the ad first before we add the flash option. We need to get that ad rotator item's ID first before we can hookup javascript to embed the flash over the backup image. If you have many ad rotator items already in place you might want to temporarily disable all the ads already setup except the one you are working on so you don't have to refresh the page a bunch of times to wait for your ad to randomly appear.
    Goto a test page and use BC's module manager to insert your AdRotator.
    Preview your test page with your ad rotator and once you see your ad you are creating, right-click the ad (this works in Chrome for sure) to copy the URL of the ad. You can also see what the URL is just by hovering over the ad in most browers.  The goal here is to jot down or grab the ID of the web app item and that should be in the URL similar to this: "/BannerProcess.aspx?ID=32713&URL=%2ftest".  I bolded the ID we'll be grabbing. This ID is unique to each ad rotator item and we need that so that we can embed a specific flash file for that specific ad rotator item.
    Once you've got your ID of the item, head back to the Ad Rotator Item you just created in the BC Admin.
    You'll want to add some javascript after your image markup in the "Item HTML" box
    Before we had: <img src="/images/demoad.gif" width="125" height="125" />
    and it becomes:<img src="/images/demoad.gif" width="125" height="125" />
    <script>adRotatorFlashFallback('32711','/demoad.swf', '125', '125');</script>
    Replace the bolded items above with the ID of your ad rotator item we pulled from the URL before and the URL to the flash file we uploaded to the site before.  In our case, I uploaded "demoad.swf" to the root of the website. Also, the '125' and '125' above are the width and height, respectively for your flash file. For instance if your flash movie is 300 pixels wide and 100 pixels in height then calling our functions with those dimensions would look like:<script>adRotatorFlashFallback('32711','/demoad.swf', '300', '100');</script>
    Make sure the ad rotator item is enabled and you're all set.
    You can see a demo of it working at http://www.chrismatthias.com/demos/swf-fallback-ad-rotator
    After your initial setup of downloading the javascripts and referencing them in your page or template, the hardest thing about creating new ad rotator items with fallback is getting the ID of the ad rotator item from the URL in steps 12-14, but it's the only way I know of to get the ID of the ad rotator item. I can't find it in the BC Admin anywhere.
