SWF won't preview in browser.
I changed/updated an SWF movie on my index page. It previews in fine in Live View, but reverts to the movie I replaced it with in FF and Safari. Forget about uploading it, it only uploads the old movie. I'm flummoxed. HELP?
Your code is messed up. You've got too many <html> tags and too many <body> tags in your document. Looks like you copy & pasted everything from one page into another.
Look at corrected code below and note that the <body> tag goes inside the <html> tag. And everything is closed at the end. Repeat on your other site pages. Use the W3C code validation tools to help you.

Flash only sites don't typically do well with Search Engines. You really should add some equivalent HTML content for the various devices and users who can't use Flash.
Good luck,

Page won't preview in browser. Realy slow.
Images half load and I just get the basic grey box with a slide show.
Same files new version new problem
Wan't a problem with last version.I'm on Mac
I disconected from the network and it previews fine now. Performance is normal.
I updated from whatever the previous version was to: 2014.2
I have also been exporting the html and previewing it that way, which works.
I would prefere to stay connected to the network. (Emails, web, my life, etc.)
Is this an ongoing issue with the latest version of muse? -
CS4, XSL won't preview in browser
I'm trying to preview in browser an xsl page. I have the xml file set in the bindings panel. Now whenever I go to preview in browser, if I take off the bindings, it asks for it and then does nothing. If I already have the xml set in bindings and I hit preview in browser the program still just doesn't do anything. I know I have everything set correctly, the program just won't preview xsl in a browser, but previews HTML normally. Any help?
Are you using your local computer to test the XSLT document? If so, do you have a web server running with PHP on your local server? DW uses server side scripting to display the XSLT document so if you cannot execute PHP nothing will show up.

Adobe Edge Animate CC won't preview in Browser
I am writing a review on Adobe Edge Animate CC. Loving the program until I tried to preview it in a browser.
I am on a PC, using latest version of Firefox, and IE10. The only thing that is viewable in either browser is a static image.
The animation runs perfectly "within" the Edge Animate CC program.
Need to resolve this problem, as I would hate to give the program a bad review, especially if it is something that I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Dee MarieThanks for your response to my question.
The animation I created was very simple one.
The Original Animation (that I could not view in any browser)
1. Resized the Stage and changed the background color
2. Created a "moon" shape from the Ellipse Tool, adding a silver color and inverted shadow
3. Animated "moon" shape using Motion Paths
4. Added a font from Edge Web Fonts (clicking the Add Fonts within the Edge Web Fonts box), changed font color and size
Saved each step as I created them
The first time I tried to create the above animation it would not animate when previewed in browser.
TODAY: I started from scratch.
The only thing that I did differently: after saving "each" step, I clicked preview in browser.
To my surprise, each time I added an additional step the animation worked perfectly when I clicked "preview in browser"
Not sure what I did wrong the first time ... as I stated above, the only thing that I did differently this time was to click the "preview in browser" between each step (after first saving each step).
So, whatever I did, it is now working perfectly!
Thanks again for your helpful response.
Sincerely,
Dee Marie -
So I hope this isn't something incredibly simple that I'm overlooking, but...
I recently upgraded to CS4 fro CS3 (on a Mac). I have an XSL file to transform some XML for use in InDesign. In CS3, I could open the XSL file, specify the XML file in the bindings panel, then preview in browser to get the transformed XML. So I opened CS4 and followed the same steps, but when I ask Dreamweaver to preview in browser, nothing happens. I've specified Firefox as my primary browser and Safari as secondary, but neither does anything. What am I missing here?
Thanks!

Updated SWF won't play in browser anymore
I recently made a word change, that's all, to my fla file and exported the updated swf file. It plays in preview just fine, as well as when typing in the direct url - www.bicesandiego.com/about.swf but won't play on its own after I uploaded to the server.
I am not a programmer and received these files from the client, but I have made changes to this very file before and it worked fine. Now, it will not show when I go to the about page. Any thoughts? If the main file loads the about file, it may have a mask that needs to be extended. But since you say you only changed a word, as opposed to adding a number of them, I don't see what that would have done to change anything. So you must have changed something else in the process of whatever you were doing.

Styles Won't Preview in Browser
This must be something simple I haven't set up right...
(fairly new at this) ... but I've created a stylesheet for the site
I'm working on and the styles all show up fine in Dreamweaver, but
whenever I try to preview the pages in a browser, the styles are
all out of wack.
This happens in both IE and Safari.
Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

are) then you
do not need a testing server.

I have a problem with my swf file playing in the browsers. It works fine when I play it outside the browsers, but as soon as I load it to the site...it doesn't play. Please help.
www.thelusciousstore.comThe best guess I can hazard at the moment is that you are missing some other files (possibly swf's or image files) that the index.swf file is trying to load.
If you do have other files that it loads and you have placed them where you believe they need to go, can you explain that arrangement folder-wise? -
Fonts won't preview in browser
When I preview a page in Dreamweaver (with path file:///Users/ ... ), the web fonts no longer show up properly. They display on live webpages correctly, but I recently removed duplicate fonts from my system using Linotype Font Explorer...and I'm wondering if somehow I deleted a font in an area that Dreamweaver uses?
I double checked in these areas and appears Verdana, Georgia, etc are in there.
/Users/[username]/Library/Fonts
/Library/Fonts
I'm using 10.6 and see the problem in Firefox, Safari and Chrome as well as Dreamweaver's Live View.
Is there anywhere else I should look? Any help would be very much appreciated!Hi,

Everytime I try to do the Preview in Browser using
Dreamweaver, I get a message saying that 1 file or folder were not
completed and then in the browser it says that the page cannot be

different folders, and I still get the same message. What am I
doing wrong? How do I fix this?
Thanks for the help!To preview pages with server scripting, you have to set up a
testing server
by installing PHP and Apache.

Please help - can't preview in Browser
Ok - I am relatively new to Dreamweaver, even though I designed my previous website in Frontpage. I bought a template thinking that I could just worry about designing the website rather than the background stuff (don't get mad at me). Well, that wasn't working and I tried to design my own template, which is very simple. Anyway, I am so messed up now. The old pages with the old template won't preview in browser and the new ones won't either. What did I do?
Run your code through the validation tools below and fix reported errors.
Orphaned HTML tags (an extra opening or closing <div> ) can mess things up.

Does anyone know why all of a sudden any new parent divs I add won't display in browser preview?
yes styles are applied. What does not show up are the container divs - they all have the thin purple borders.
The "Blog Lovers" image shows up but it is inside the #blogindex div - which seems to be invisible because the elements inside #blogindex div are just piled on top of each other. (see below html) This is now happening on all the pages of this site.
(I test a different site in DW and I was able to add divs and borders and content inside divs just fine.)
<!-- start #blogindex -->
<div id="blogindex">
<div id="blog_image1"><img src="images/bloglovers.gif" alt="Blog Lovers" /></div>
<div id="blog_image2"><img src="images/gcblogheader350x70.jpg" alt="Gina Charles Blog" /></div>
<div id="blogindex_text">
<p class="blackbolditalic">Visit the blog for happenings, highlights and conversation! </p></div>
</div>
<!-- end #blogindex -->

Changes to the design, html, css won't show up immediately in preview in browser
No matter what I am working on, the browser displays the design correctly only after the first viewing. From there on if I make any changes to html or css, save it and try to preview it again it just shows the design from the previous time. Sometimes if I wait a little bit and try to preview it again it shows up correctly, but the wait time varies. The same thing happens if I actually go to the folder and open up Index.html. But if I preview it in adobe browser lab it always shows up right. It is getting really annoying because I can't easily preview the changes that I make to see if they are working.
Sounds like a caching issue. You are saving the file and then using Preview In Browser and not just making a change to the DW file without saving and trying to refresh the browser, right?
In FireFox, hti Ctrl + Shift + R
In IE9, Hit F12, then Ctrl + R, then "Yes"

Site won't display correctly when 'Published' to Business Catalyst but does when 'Preview' in browse
Basically I have a subscription to Muse and with that the ability to host one site with Business Catalyst. When checking the first site I designed I'd use 'Preview in Browser' and the site occasionaly displayed incorrectly, so I changed my habits to publishing the work-in-progress site to the BC url with this current site.
Unfortunately there are multiple display problems with doing this; the two images below show the difference between 'Publish' to the BC domain and 'Preview site in browser'.
I've cleared the cache of the browser multiple times and used both Firefox and Safari and the problem still remains. I'm assuming it's a problem with Business Catalyst?
Does anyone have a solution for this? Has data become corrupted in BC, and if so is there a way of 'flushing' the data held on the BC site clean to start from scratch?
Would really appreciate some help here as it's impossible to show my client the current state of the site
Thanks in advance
Phil

This is driving me mental, flash seems to hate me! created a webpage in dreamweaver and then dropped .swf videos onto it. One video though was originally a .mov which i encoded to f4v in media encoder and then exported as a .swf from flash. It worked fine on my computer and now that it's uploaded it refuses to play. Also it won't preview on my computer anymore! Please help.
