Synchronize multiple flv files

Can anyone give me an idea of how I could set up some code
that could synchronize 3 flv files? I would like these three flv
files to play back on my website at the same time. So far, one will
load and start playing while the other 2 will still be loading.
any ideas?

No problem - post the page so we can see what you did wrong.
Once you post the page url it will only take a few minutes to
figure out the problem. It's impossible to figure out without more
to go on...

  • Multiple .flv files out of syc after first video

    On a PC with W7, office 2010 and CP6.
When embedding multiple .flv files in CP6, and running the published html5 presentation off my local drive, only first .flv file is in sync after publishing in html5. The 2nd .flv video is out of sync.
I’m running CP6 on a PC with several information slides and one slide with an embedded .flv file. Then a few more information slides and a second slide with another embedded .flv file. Preview mode looks fine on both videos. The original mp4 videos that I imported into CP6 which it converted to .flv files works fine as well.
When I publish the file in html5 only, and launch the file off a local drive the first video runs fine but the second one is out of sync. Repeated publishing doesn’t help. I’ve inserted other videos and the same problem occurs on the second video. Also the control bars that I put below the .flv video don’t show up in hmtl5 published format.
Why is the second video out of sync. My goal is to have 4-5 short .flv embedded videos in the presentation with information slides preceding each video.
When I go to the published folder:
and click individually on the videos the first one runs fine, the second one is out of sync – same as when I launch the index.htm file off my local drive.
When I copy the files to my Mac, and run off the local drive I have the same problem.
    Need some help here.

Could be the encoding. Never heard of that software.
You could possibly convert the files in iTunes by right clicking and choosing conversion for AppleTv option but that takes time and will only work for things iTunes can play natively. There may be better options but MPEGStreamclip is a versatile free video converter as I believe is the latest version of the Handbrake utility.

  • Using Multiple FLV files on one page with one Flash Player

I have a web site with 6 videos.  I am hoping to find help figuring out how best to develop the web page that will allow me to associate several FLV files with one Flash Player.  And to have each of the videos "launch" when triggered by a link containing the title.
I have the video titles as links that will launch the associated FLV file when clicked.  It is a selection menu with the Flash player on the same page.

I don't know which player you're using, but this is usually done with XML or Javascript files (playlists) because you can't directly link to FLVs and have them play in browsers.
That said, Flash is dead as a web technology now because it isn't supported by all the latest and most popular web devices (iPhone, iTouch, iPads).  If you want to reach the widest possible audience with your videos, I would suggest using MP4 videos with an HTML5 player that supports playlists.

  • FLV files won't play on testing server

I've created a site with several videos on multiple pages. They play on my local computer but will not work when uploaded to my server. I get an error in opening the page and a "plug-in cancelled" message in the Activity window in Safari. Other FLV files play from other servers (even those I created and placed in other site files using the same method). I feel certain that something in my upload is causing the problem, but I cannot find any missing files or misplaced files on the server. NO FLV files are playing on the entire site.
A page in question is: http://www.hensondesigns.com/kpc/COMEDIANS/Guy_Branum-bio.html
(disregard the second and third videos on the page which are embedded from YouTube; it's the first video that won't play)
I've got the Scripts folder uploaded and the skin file within the COMEDIANS folder on my server.
Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong? I'm sure it's something simple but I have no idea.
Thank you in advance for your time and help.

    Hans-G,
Thanks for checking the page to try to help. I apologize--I figured out the issue and didn't have a chance to remove my question from the forum. The issue was being caused by the files being on my server--somehow they weren't being found. I made an adjustment in Dreamweaver and they now work. Thanks again!
Is there a way to remove this entire post? I realize it will be of no help to anyone else, and I don't understand the problem and solution well enough to add details to make it helpful.

  • Playing FLV files on the timeline in a secondary scene?

I'm currently working on a project where I mix animation sequences with short videos. My project also has two scenes and the FLV will be placed on the main time line of the second scene. The problem I am having is, if the movie is previewed from the first scene, or exported, the FLV on scene 2 won't load. the timeline on the playhead will just spin. I'm currently using "Load external video with playback component" as the method for importing the flv file.
I have already worked with this video multiple times in other flash files and have never had a problem loading the video. Is there a limitation to FLV playback in multiple scene movies?

The first scene doesn't contain a video just graphic animation. The second scene contains an flv video on the main timeline. When I preview, publish or export the video in the second scene won't load. And if I make the playhead visible it appears as if the video is trying to load but won't.
If I just preview the second scene the video will play immediately with no problem, but it won't play at all when if the second scene starts after the first. The way I have it set up is, on the main timeline of the first scene there is actionscript in a frame at the end of the animation that tells flash to gotoAndPlay the second scene.

  • .FLV files ..why do some play in HTML and others don't?

    hi,
I am using dreamweaver 8 to embed 'FLV videos into html
    webpages.
the problem is that when I embed and test some flv files, the
player shows up on the page and the videos play fine,
but when I try with a couple of other flv files, these files
do not work - a blank screen shows up (though when I right-click on
the screen where the video player is supposed to be, the flash
    drop-down menu appears).
I know that the Size of the files is not why these files are
not working, and I have the latest version of flash player
installed. Also, I'm sure I have not made a mistake in the code,
and I suspect that it is something to do with difference/s in the
    files themselves... ?
If you need any further info, please let me know.
this is quite frustrating - so please help.
    thank you.

  • Uploading flv files issue

I upgraded to DW CS3 and now when I try to upload a flv file,
it says it can't complete it and the file isn't updated. I go back
to my old version of DR8 and it works just fine. When I synchronize
in CS3 it will tel me that files need to be updated, but when I try
to do it, it says it can't complete. Why? This doesn't happen EVERY
time though which makes it even harder to figure out. I tried
deleting the version on the server, but it still won't upload the
new version. How am I supposed to update my site and get the new
files up? I make a lot of changes to the site, then synchronize
it.That is the only way to be sure I haven't missed some files. Can
someone tell me why it works ok in DW8 but not in CS3? Is there a
setting somwhere I need to change? Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to our community, Leslie
I'm thinking that what's happening here is the LMS simply
doesn't recognize that the .FLVs should be included. So I'm
wondering if the following workaround would work for you. When you
insert the FLV reference, code an absolute path. For example, lets
say the LMS serves the Captivate up and the logical path is
    http://www.somesite.com/training/CaptivateMovie.htm.
Maybe you store all the .FLV files in this locaton:
    http://www.somesite.com/training/videos.
So you would then code the link to your FLV to use that explicit
    path of
    http://www.somesite.com/training/videos/MyVideo.FLV.
I'm not 100% sure this will work, but I can't really fathom a
    reason it shouldn't.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Editing FLV files - Split / Merge

Our studio is moving to a Flash video streaming solution from
a RealVideo streaming one. We stream multiple live streams daily
and archive our streams as well and there are times when we'd like
to edit the .flv video files to cut out a section or maybe merge
two flv files. For RealVideo files, this can be done using the Real
Media editor that is built into Real Producer. Is there any
solution to accomplish this with FLV files?
I've scoured google and I've found workarounds that involved
converting the .flv file into an avi or an mpeg, editing it and
then converting it back using multiple programs and plugins to
accomplish this, but that process is too complicated for most of
the end-users in our studio and converting the format over and over
obviously causes degradation in the quality of the video. Has Adobe
created a standalone tool to split/merge flv files? If anybody has
    a solution please share. Thanks!

    Hey Jason,
Your best bet is to do all the editing you need prior to
encoding. Forgive me if this is a little condescending, but for our
company, the encode to .flv format is the penultimate/final stage
    of production.
I can't be sure, but I believe a program such as preniere or
after effects has good integration with Flash - you could output
    directly to .flv
In terms of merging two .flvs, you're right - the options are
limited. You can either redo your edit (tricky for long sequences)
and re-encode, or alternatively code something to stick the two
flvs together...very heath robinson, i know!

  • WRT54GL not allowing FLV file download to run properly

We are attempting to download Flash content for homebound schooling and the downloads are running very slowly when connected (wired or wireless) through our linksys router. Through the router we are seeing less than 20K per second but if I bypass the router and connect the computer directly to the Verizon DSL modem, I see about 250-300K. Are there any controls available on the router to allow these to download normally?
We have not seen the same sort of slowness with any other type of content but I saw this with just trying to transfer the material to the desktop so the flash player was not even involved. I can't see how the router would be effecting only ".flv" content files. Right now this is unworkable and the router will need to go if it can't be made to work. Same issue with XP Media Center  & Vista.

I had been having some other annoying issues with this router so I decided to replace it rather than fight with it further. The new router, a Belkin N+ seems to work fine on the flv files.
One of the annoying issues that the LinkSys router had was that it would often assign the same IP address to multiple PCs on the network. I had decreased the DHCP lease time but that did not seem to help. I'd put a laptop back on the network after the lease should have expired, and sometime it would be assigned the same address as a system already on the network.
I plan to keep the linksys as a backup so if I ever put it back into service, I will plan to update the firmaware at that point.

  • Quick swapping of FLV files

    Hello,
What I am looking to do is swap out .FLV files quickly to
create an instant response to an action. Lets say I have a loop of
a person standing in one spot, and I have 10 different possible
.FLV files that could play. When the user clicks on a place on the
stage, the appropriate video plays that walks the person over to
that spot. I have tried loading the other files in the background,
and using a movie clip with 10 different frames, each with a
different flv in it, but that doesn't seem to work. I want to
create the illusion of instant response, so there can't be a blank
moment before the next .FLV loads. I did have some success if all
10 of the videos are loaded on each frame, with the primary one
center stage, and the rest offstage with x at 2000 or something,
but if I need to change one thing, then I have to change all 10
frames, and it gets tedious, plus it doesn't seem like the best way
to do things. Is there a way to load an FLV into memory so that
when a movie clip moves to a frame where the video lives, it will
load instantly? Am I making a mistake using the FLV playback
component? Should I be coding the whole loading differently? I also
will have this living on a stand alone computer, so there is no
need to download files, just load them from a local directory. Any
thoughts are appreciated, and I have looked at the threads about
preloading video, but they don't seem to accomplish what I am
trying to do. I am using CS3 but with ActionScript 2. Thanks...

No you can't do this on multiple files.
But you can use File>>Add folder to library to add the whole folder.
Then you remove the dead tracks - but loose counts and ratings etc.
You can even add the whole iTunes Music folder and it will not create duplicates of files it already knows about.
    Removing dead tracks
Using a playlist to collect dead tracks.
Create new regular playlist – Playlist1
Select whole library and drag to Playlist1
Create new Smart Playlist with the rule: Playlist is not Playlist1
This playlist should contain all the dead tracks

you can use the soundmixer's soundtransform to control all volume but, unless you have multiple sounds, you should probably use the netstream's soundtransform.
in either case, to start your video with no sound, assign the volume property in you onMetaData function:
    function onMetaData(data:Object):void {
    var st:SoundTransform = videoStream.soundTransform;
    st.volume = 0;
    videoStream.soundTransform = st;

I am not aware of any free software that let you join FLV

However, here's a simple workaround to join several flv video file
    - convert individual flv files to avi using Super [as mentioned

using free VirtualDub and finally convert this avi back to FLV

If I may, just my 2 Malaysia's Cents.
I don't think scrubbing through video will be more efficient
    than timeline based
images sequence. Video will likely be larger is size and
    lower quality compared
to what you could do with images sequence. With images you
    can as well control
the export compression to fine tune quality versus file size.
    With video, you will
have to do multiple rendering. More time consuming
Also, it has much to do with action script itself as well as
    number of frames used
for the 360. Take for example my MINI Cooper S:
    http://flashfugitive.com/stuff/360/car/mini.html
Much smoother and smaller than the link above, you can also
    drag it and throw.
