Syncing iPod nano when you are a subscriber to iTunes Match

I have a 4th generation iPod nano. Until a couple weeks ago I always synced it to my iTunes on my computer through a USB cable. But now iTunes no longer recognizes my iPod nano nor does it sync. I subscribed to iTunes Match when I bought my iPhone 4 last year, and have since read that you cannot sync music to your iPod nano if you subscribe to iTunes Match. I had no problem syncing last year, but ever since I renewed my subscription to iTunes Match this year I can no longer sync my iPod. Does anyone know of a workaround? I would hate to have to buy a new cloud friendly iPod when mine still works perfectly fine.

Ok, so I figured out the problem with the help of tech support. I simply had to reboot my device (never have in all the years I've owned it... didn't even know I could!). That solved the problem and now iTunes recognizes my device and I am back to syncing through my USB cable. How to reboot if you are having a similar problem: simply hold the center button and the "menu" button (top of the wheel) at the same time for several seconds until the screen goes blank and the apple logo appears; then let go of the buttons and wait for the device to reboot. It's that easy!

My iPod nano and iPad are not showing on iTunes

Hi, I have an iPod nano 6g and an iPad that were working just finr a couple of days ago. Now my iTuns is not recognizing either of them ! I tried every solution possible in the Support section but nothing worked.
The thing I noticed while trying to fix this issue is that the "Apple Mobile Device Driver" in the Device Manager has a yellow triangle next to it. In this mode almost nothing happens when I plug in the iPod besides the ring tone, it does not appear neither in the iTunes nor in My computer. And nothing happens in my iPod itself as it doesn't show the "connecting" screen
When I choose "Update the driver" and I let it update automatically, it's title change from "Apple Mobile Device Driver" to "USB Mass Storage Device" and it will show a yellow mark too as soon as I oppen the iTunes. The iPod starts showing in My computer and the "connecting" screen appears in the iPod but my iTunes shows me this message:
And then automatically the "disconnecting" screen shows on my iPod.
When trying to change back to "Apple Mobile Device Driver" my windows tells that the driver is not digitally signed.
But even if I chose it it will go back to the state where my iPod will not show on my computer
The iPad however is not showing any sign of activity whatsoever, its almost like I didn't plug anything if not for the ring tone. It doesn't even show up on the Device manager !
I tried compleately removing then reinstalling iTunes several time but it didn't solve the issue. I Also tried dissabling all other programes to look for conflicts but that didn't help either :l

I tried every solution possible in the Support section but nothing worked.

How is it possible that i can play music marked with the cloud icon in the music app when i'm not subscribing to itunes match?

When I'm on the same WiFi network as the computer I sync my iPhone to, I can se a lot of songs in my music app marked with the little cloud icon. And when I leave the network, I can see only the songs with this icon that I have played and therefore probably cached.
Where can I read more about this function and get to know it better?
It seems to work like iTunes Match, only limited to 'local' use. I'm not an iTunes Match subscriber, but I have the 'Show all music' setting enabled.
It's a cool function, both it's a bit annoying that i uses up my available storagecapacity. I keep getting warnings that my storage is almost full.
Does the cached music automatically dissapear since i haven't added it while syncing?

Because the warranty for your iPod touch does not cover manufacturing defects with your iPod Nano. You are talking about and dealing with two seperate products.

Ipod touch (5 gen) wont recognize that I have subscribed to Itunes Match

I have a 5th generation Ipod Touch. I subscribed to Itunes Match on my computer (Windows 7) I have not been able to get Itunes on my computer to recognize the Ipod Touch therefore I purchased the Itunes Match to get my songs onto the Icloud to then transfer onto my Ipod. When I try to turn on Itunes Match on the Ipod it tells me I have not yet subscribed to Itunes Match, use the computer to subscribe. Please help. Step by step notes would be greatly appreciated.

You need to update the computer to 10.6.8. This is available in the Software Update pane of System Preferences.

Do I have to subscribe to iTunes Match to convert old protected purchases to iTunes Plus?

I've been using the iTunes store since before it came out (in fact been using the iTunes player since before there was an iPod). So many of my songs are in the old protected .m4a format.
All the articles I've seen on how to upgrade them to iTunes Plus songs have said you have to subscribe to iTunes Match in order to do so. Surely this can't be the case? I already paid for the songs once, and am willing to pay an additional 30 cents to upgrade them, but I have to pay $25 for a service I don't need to have the privilege of doing so? I don't want to believe Apple would fleece me this hard, but it sure looks like it.

You don't need subscribe to match.
Many posters have reported this problem. Have a look at the posts on this topic in the Itunes for Mac forum.
A suggestion made in some posts is that if you download the free single of the week from itunes store.
Can't comment any further as I have never encoutered this problem.

No. You can only subscribe to iTunes Match from your "home" store.

I purchasd an ITune Audio Book using a borrowed Windows Computer. After the Download I attempted to Sync and was told that I was synced to a different [something]. It then asked if I wanted to sync to this [Something] I said yes. IT wiped all the stuff off my IPod then gave the following message:

How can I get this to work?
It considered the computer pretty acceptable when it took my money for the title. I think I have been ripped off.
THis whole SYNC is an innecessay step. Why can't I just download stuff to my iPod (from any sourch by the way) and delete it from my iPod when I don't want it any more.

They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.
