Syntax Check with lower Release Version

Hi,
I am looking for a way to check my source code syntactically for downwards compatibility, to make sure my development created on NW 7.40 could also run on NW 7.02.
That includes:
Keywords (e.g. COND or SWITCH)
Structure (e.g. inline variable declarations)
Objects (e.g. WDC FPM_POWL_UIBB)
One way I could imagine is to transport my development into a system with that release and let the Code Inspector check the syntax, transferring the results into DEV system. However, this means some kind of delay. If there would eb a more direct way to check this, I'd really appreciate to get to know it.

It sounds to me like you may need to find a clean up script after the app is uninstalled. Or you can try just a few bits and pieces or you code to start with in a new file. That's the only thing I can think of besides reformatting to clear your entire registry of Adobe Flash items. I always do a reformat of my entire computer everytime a new version of the Adobe products comes out, saves a bit of headache.

Setup Central Contract Management SRM 7.01 with differing release versions

Hello experts,
OSS note 1268821 explains how to configure the central contract management between a SRM 7.0 and an ERP 6.04. So far so good, but how should it be handled if there are differing release versions such as ERP 6.04 and ERP 6.03? I guess that a technical split (xml services/ ALE distribution) is necessary?
Assuming that there are some backends with differing release versions and in some cases with differing master data (not supported by central master data client) would you always go via PI? Independent of release version, technology and master data.
Could you give some further detailed informations how to configure such a scenario? What has to be done to transfer existing contracts from an ERP 6.04 into SRM CM component (migration concept)?

The minimal ECC version is 6.0 EHP4, Central Contracts require certain business functions in ECC to be activated and as these are included within ECC EHP4 you won't have these available in lower version. Therefore you won't be able to operate central contracts in such an ECC system.
You would either have to go with patching these systems or go with GOA's for these systems.
Operating central contracts via PI or SOA i believe provide almost similar functionality. SOA however requires an SRM EHP1 system and ECC EHP5 back-end to operate whilst central contracts configured via PI can be operated onwards from an SRM 7.0 and EHP4 system.
I can't help you on your migration issue, maybe someone else can.

Swapping out source video - working with low res versions

I have high-def sony m2t footage to edit.
I create a prpro project with edits, and I want to send to a collegue to tweak it. No problem.
However, I don't want to send them 30 gigs of source video, but 300mb of low res mp4 versions of the source video, so he can edit and work on timing and effects.
My challenge is that I when he returns the file, I must replace the footage and re-create all of the in/out markers on each clip, as well as the effects.
Is there a way to bulk replace footage in a project WHILE KEEPING the in/out cut, and the effects on each of the video bits? Or, keep the in/out and lose the effects - both are great solutions.
If I could get the same filename for the source video on my machine and the low-res version on his machine, it would be easy. The challenge is that my source video is *.m2t and the low-res versions are mp4, or flv, or mov.
Any ideas, workarounds, best practices for this?

Couple thoughts:
Use AME to transcode your original M2T clips to more highly-compressed M2T clips. Drop the originals into the AME Queue, and change the Format to MPEG2 (not MPEG2-DVD). Start with the "1440 x 1080i 29.97 High Quality" preset (this may actually be automatically selected), and then go to the Multiplexer tab and change the Multiplexing option to "TS." Tweak the video encoding parameters (primarily bit rate) as necessary, and save the new versions out somewhere. This seemed to work in my single clip test, though the more highly-compressed file settings may need some experimentation to get smooth playback.
If you already have MP4s, try changing the extension to M2T. Yeah, it might actually work. You can do this really quickly on the Windows command line (don't know how on Mac) by running a simple command:ren *.mp4 *.m2t
In both cases, since the extension is the same, relinking should be fairly automatic.
Report how it goes!

ACR 7.0 in Released version of CS6 doesn't open Nikon D800 raw files.

The ACR 7.0 that installs with rhe released version of Photoshop CS6 still won't open Nikon d800 raw files.

Noel - I do use a card reader and always have! I don't go direct from the camera. As I point out, I am working around the problems that are stated above and I am here forcing myself to learn by asking those questions. Thanks though. I’m not ignoring anyone if I were I wouldn’t have all the comments above.

I am equally as surprised and not blaming LR4 just making an observation. I have used LR for years and manage a library of over 60,000 images with it. It is my software of choice and will continue to be. But this has become a persistent problem only with the D800 14bit NEF +- 45MB files, all other files from my Nikon DX cameras and my Canon cameras are fine. I’m not blaming LR4 it could also be the Nikon NEF, I just don’t know why LR4 truncates the D800 files and other software doesn’t.
- if I move files using Nikon ViewNX 2 or Windows7 Explorer the files simply move without problem. When I move them using LR4 they become truncated (no end of file error message). If I move them with LR4 and then copy over them into the new folder with the original copy, LR4 corrects and is able to deal with the file in their new destination. (this means a lot of extra work and saving the originals in another directory LR4 doesn’t see).
It's confusing. I have reinstalled LR4 3 times already and checked the hard disks. The bottom line is that both Windows and ViewNX will move the file without altercation. I don’t know why? Yet further confusion. Please realize that I am aware this may be an isolated issue and I intend to ask one of the college techs. to look at the problem.
I am not attacking Adobe, I only use Adobe products with my images and I want it to work that’s why I came here in the first place. I have a lot of money invested in Adobe software both here and all our other licences. Please stop using words like blame, reporting an issue is not blaming. Don’t shoot me I’m just conveying my current (personal) experiences with the product. I’m trying to figure out why and how to make it work.

Is it Possible develop plugin only in release version?

I am new to development, I find difficult to test my code with the release version alone.
Is it necessary to obtain the debug version, so as to test my code. Or release version of Indesign is more than enough?
I came to know the any ASN membership will receive the debug version as a benefit. Is it so?

It is possible to develop a plugin without debug version.
However if you run into troubles the debug version allows you to trace the source of it.
To get indesign debug versions i had to write a mail to adobe, 4 hours later i could download the debug versions from my (free) adobe partner account. You can find mail adress with google.

SYNTAX-CHECK undocumented parsing parameters

Hello,
as I'm working for a project where we need an ABAP-Parser I was searching for something that could help us with that.
I found the statement SYNTAX-CHECK with a lot of undocumented parameters, like 'id 'STMTS'', that seem to produce something like a parsing result for a program/class.
Does anyone have any documentation about these parameters, that are not documented in the normal sap-help?

I could find a fix to the resulting syntax errors (due to RECNO field - cf. note 547669).
BUT, my question is: how to check the syntax of a whole bunch of update rules without editing them manually one after the other?

An error occurred when attempting to change modules (release version)

I'm getting this error when starting the app with the release version, and the labs forum tip to remove fonts wasn't a help. I'm on OS X 10.7.3 with the 4.0 Lightroom release. Can't use the software.

I nuked every folder and setting I could find for Lightroom and it fixed it.

[CS3 Mac Server]: Debug version loaded, Release version not

Hello!
I build a plugin for the CS3 Mac Server.
The debug version of the plugin is loaded by the Debug Server successfully.
When I want to load the release version by the Release Server, there comes the error message "Adobe InDesign does not recognise ... as a valid plug-in. Please reinstall the ... plug-in and restart Adobe InDesign."
I am using InDesign Debug Server 5.03 and InDesign Release Server 5.03.
The libraries and frameworks which are bind to the plugin seem all ok.
What can be the fault with the release version?
Any help appreciated.

LR5 Issues with the CC Version?

Hello,
I've had a few deal-breaking issues with the released version of LR5 for Windows and read about several others. There seems to be some consistency with the types of issues people are having with, at least, the Windows version of the software. I think that Adobe is splitting the code stream with LR5 since it is offered as both a stand-alone product and as part of the Creative Cloud.

Wacom Intuos 3. Performance with tablet slower than mouse but still lots of lag with the mouse. Again, slower when 1:1 but also plenty of lag when FIT.

SQL Developer 1.1.0.21: Issues with Data Grid and SQL syntax checking

In this new release of SQL Dev, when I execute a SQL in the SQL Worksheet and click in the Data Grid in the Results tab and try to navigate within a record using arrow keys, the grid cell enters into edit mode by default and so I cannot use the Left or Right arrow keys to navigate the grid. I am forced to use tab key to navigate. This is counter intuitive in my opinion.
Is there any option to change this behavior?
Another issue that I have come across is with SQL syntax checking. In some cases, when I press F9 to execute a SQL, it shows the SQL as executed i.e. shows something like 0.0134 seconds in the toolbar and no results displayed. In reality, the SQL had some syntax error which were NOT reported. This can be frustrating since now I have to fall back to SQL*Plus or TOAD just for syntax check.
I like the fact that SQLDev highlights the current SQL but it would be more useful if it just indicated the first line of the current sql instead of highlighting the whole sql.

In the "Results" tab, Click Ctrl & Tab keys (at the same time) or with mouse click on any cell other than the first column (a sequence or rownum), you will be able to navigate using the arrow keys.

The 0.0134 seconds could be the result of the most recently executed successful statement. Check the Script Output tab for errors. Use F5 (Run Script option) instead of F9.

On the SQL statement (or code), Right Click -> Format SQL (or press Ctrl & B), proper formatting would help.
I use version 1.0.0.15.57 and seems to be working allright.

I did a little bit of experimenting. I have an iPad original versions myself. I took it out of the box knowing that I haven used it in months and I expected the battery to be dead and sure enough the battery was as dead as I imagined it would be. For the first 30 minutes I experienced exactly what you are experiencing, but then the iPad suddenly powered up on its own (like it does when plugged into the charger) and I am using it now to type this response to you.
My point is that I am starting tothink that your battery has suddenly died on you for some reason or you have a hardware problem now. I would still try leaving the iPad charge for a while longer - maybe even overnight - and then try again in the morning. Unplug the iPad and try resetting with the home and sleep buttons. Try plugging the iPad in again. Unplug it, try restarting again. Let it charge for a while again.
After trying something like that, if it still will not start up, then I think it's time for a trip to an Apple Store and see what the Apple Techs think.

I don't know since I don't share anything. You'll have to peruse the help files and check the permissions and ACLs on the Shared folder. According to the permissions on the Shared folder everyone can R&W. If you want those to be inherited by everything dropped into the folder, add an ACL for
everyone allow read, write

I used to drag and drop music loaded from CD's from the Recently Added folder to a Playlist on my iPods Classic. Can't see how to do this with new iTunes version. Probably need to sync somehow but when I checked on Sync it warned me it would wipe out my iPod contents. Don 't know why Apple makes something that used to be simple so difficult. Can't even figure out how to display both my library and iPod contents on same screen.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
